I haved dyed my hair for a long time. I have have tried many products, but this is the worst product I have ever used. I can't remember what shade of blonde it was, but the color turned out alright. All I remember is that it completely fried my hair. I will never use it again.

I have been dying my hair off and on for the past 8 years or so... I frequently switch brands and shades but never had any problems at all until I tried Herbal Essences haircolor. I had not dyed my hair for 8 or 9 months when I decided to try a neutral brown HE shade on my naturally auburn hair. I thought maybe a cooler brown look would be fun. I ended up with bright orange hair! I have used orangey shades in the past and I have never gotten hair this carrot-orange. It looked awful and of course I had to throw on a hat and run to the store to buy SOMETHING to cover it up. I honestly don't remember what condition it left my hair in (i.e. fried or silky or what have you) because I was a bit distracted by my glowing orange mane. I could maybe forgive HE if I had used a red- or orange-based shade (my hair does tend to intensify red tones in hair dye) but the last thing I expect from an ash brown color is flourescent orange hair. I will never ever buy this product again and I will do my darnedest to make sure that none of my friends try it either!

I bought this in Radiant Ruby. The dye doens't smell too bad since it doesn't have ammonia, and it is probably better for my hair. The dying process was standard, and after I washed it out, the colour hardly showed up. Well, It showed up as more of a brown colour on my asian black hair than red. Four days later, When I finally decided to wash my hair, 90% of the colour came off. I was so sad... I then realized that I used clarifying shampoo instead of colour treated shampoo.. grr.. But I still bought a new one in a different colour since it seems so not damage my hair much.

I use the Extra Light Cool blonde shade. I've tried almost every brand of drugstore hair color out there, and Herbal Essences is the best for blonde. The color lasts for a very long time and doesn't go brassy. Not too drying for a light blonde shade, and smells surprisingly good. A little pricey, but worth it.

I bought the intense bleach blonding (XL0 - Cream Lightner)for a different look on my natural-black, dyed-dark brown hair. The model's hair on the box did scare me a little because I don't want to end up as though I have white hair all over. But I went for the extrme because of this very very bad impression on Blondissima years ago; I left it on for 50 mins and my hair was like darkest brown...

So off I go with the XL0. Smells ok, I didn't time myself until I did half of the head on the outter layer... (about 5 mins into bleaching) and it was too late. I had to finish the whole head in 15 minutes (missing out the inner layers) before I RUSHED to rinse it out. The timing was very hard to control and I now have very-light-orangish-yellow outter layer, and dark brown inner layer. I'm definitely more impressed with this than Blondissima, but I think it got a little too far than what I want.

Works the best!!! #54 Amber Shimmer turned my light ashy brown hair into golden borwn with a small hint of garnet smells great!! conditioner makes hair silky soft to where i don't hafta pile on anti-frizz products to get it to behave. Rinses easy. I will definitly buy again and refer to friends!! it slowly fades back to my natural color with some of the new color sitll lingering lasts around 2 months but for $9 per box that's not too bad

This has to be the only drugstore dye I've ever used where the end result was brighter on my head than on the box - I used "Beyond Cherry" a few years ago and looked like my hair had been set on fire. "Purple Haze," the "purple-black" shade, is also fun - it starts out a very dark black with a magenta sheen to it, then becomes a brighter and brighter purple as it fades. The only disappointment was "Sapphire Black," which was a very dull brown-black, not the blue-black I was hoping for. In general, if you're looking for very intense colour, this is the dye for you; if you want something more sedate, give it a pass, as results are unpredictable at best.

I just used this in Radiant Ruby on my long, wavy dark brown hair and am very pleased. It left a gorgeous flush of garnet throughout my locks while not leaving them looking too overdone or brassy. I <3 Herbal Essences Hair color, because I find it to be gentle and the smell isn't overbearing. :) I look so great today too ! :) :) :)

I had the worst experience with this hair dye. I'm still paying for it after a 1 1/2.

I used the "Natural Black" shade on my medium brown hair, and was hoping to get, duh, natural looking black hair. But oh no, it came out completely GOTH black. I must say this hair colour had great staying power, because to this very day, about 3 inches of my hair (the ends) is still dark dark black. I had to gradually cut off my hair because there was nothing you could do.

My hairdresser even tried bleaching it out with a test strand of my hair, and it didn't even budge!! Will never buy again!!

I love the 'beyond cherry' colour for my red hair. It is easy to use and it never fails to give me beautiful colour all the time. it rocks.

I purchase Sable Brown to darken my hair which is naturally a very dark brown but dyed a dark medium brown. At first, I wasn't sure If I should get this shade just because the woman's hair on the box seemed more of a medium brown, than a dark brown. To tell you the truth the only reason I went with this color was because it was featured in Instyle magazine so I thought I'd give it a go.

The really nice thing about this dye is that it doesn't smell bad. The application wasn't messy at all and seemed to saturate my hair with no problem. After washing the product our my roots seemed a little lighter from the previous color i had and the rest of my hair was a very dark almost black brown. It's only noticable when my hair is wet.

I found this product to be too drippy, a real mess. Dried out my hair. The conditioner is useless, also makes my hair drier than other conditioners.

i really love this stuff. one i keep coming back to over and over again...the colors usually come out how they say and they don't wreck havoc upon my hair.

I used beige shimmer, but this actually made my hair a medium brown rather than a light blonde(not like the color on the box).I prefer L'oreal preference over this.

I don't know why this got bad reviews. I got a great Ruby Red color, true to the box. It was a decent price, and smells good, compared to other hair colors. I was impressed. Loved the conditioner that came w/it, it's the best conditioner i've ever used. This is the only hair color that's ever actually stayed in my hair! I get compliments alot!

Average dye.. didn't really like it though 'cause it didn't turn out the exact color [Too much red rather than the light brown color which I had wanted].. but most drugstore dyes are like that so I don't mind so much. I wouldn't buy it again though.

I've used Herbal Essences dye a number of times and have always been very pleased with the results. My favorite shade is Radiant Ruby, a rich, glowing red. I've also used Brazilian Tan, a brown with red tones. The color is gorgeous and my hair always felt soft and shiny, never damaged. (I took one point off because the color fades *so* fast - even though I know that reds always do - that it would be strawberry blonde within two weeks and I had to redye my hair once a month, which got expensive).

This is the worst! I bought Honey Fusion(dark blonde), my hair turned out dark brown!!!!! It took forever to rinse out too. It faded to a yellowish blonde and the crown of my head was slightly orange. The only good thing about the color kit is the conditioner(which isn't too great).

I like to dye my hair, I've probably done it about 10 times. By far the worst experience is with Herbal Essences. I'm sorry that I can't remember the exact color name. It's a medium shade of red suitable for dark brown hair. I followed the directions exactly. Then I took a shower, and when I walked out I saw that my hair was ORANGE. I don't think I've been more shocked in my life. I put on a hat, tried not to cry, and bought a dark brown dye. Coloring my hair twice in one day fried my hair. More than six months later my hair still hasn't completely recovered.
Interestingly, when I went out to buy the second hair dye, I met a woman who said the same thing happened to her.
