Yep, something wrong with the scent but tolerable I guess. It absolutely does not control shine (liar!) but does make my face smooth and make-up glides on easy-peasy on top... Hmm, might repurchase. But that's because I'm a TBS member and gets discounts for my purchases.

I thought this stuff was great! The only thing that has ever controlled my oil (I used to have to used those oil absorbing sheets constantly!), moisturied my skin and didn't make me break out. The craeamy stuff absorbed in less than 60 secs (in which time you can just keep yourself busy doing eye makeup) and felt nice and cool.
Only reason it got a 4 is because every now and then I think I smell something funny about it, but it could just be me.
BTW, my jar said Seaweed Daily Shine Control Moisturizer CREAM, perhaps this is a new formula?

Absolutely did nothing for my skin. Did not control the oil. What a waste of money...

I had the tube version with fps but it made me brake out alot. liked the texture (fresh) at first application but wasn't getting the right surface for makeup application.

This cream felt very cooling and fresh on initial application, i did not experience the 'fishy smell' others have, in fact i felt that it smelled very fresh and clean, very un-perfumey (sp?). However, had problems when applying make up afterwards. I think the oil controlling properties it boasts are powder based, as after much rubbing in, as i do, my skin felt powdery, then trying to put on make up made it kind of roll down my cheeks, not too obviously, but did interfere with my make up routine, this also meant that it did not do much to control shine for me. It would be good for those who would not follow with liquid make up. From now on i tend to avoid 'powdery' moisturisers, prefer natural oil based moisturisers that leave a 'tacky' finish, eg, Lush's enzymion, they work much better, despite containing oils.

This definitely helps with my shine control and makes my skin soft. Immediately after applying, there is a slight fishy odor but it quickly goes away. I don't care for the jar because it's hard to take out the moisturizer and it gets under my fingernails. A tube would be much better.

This stuff is okay, but not great. I feels nice and cooling at first and absorbs fairly well. It moisturizes okay and didn't make me as greasy as other oil-free moisturizers. But I hate the jar packaging and the funky smell of this stuff. At first it smells very fresh but after putting it on I find it smells funky verging on rotten...like moldy seaweed or something...yuck. Overall, this is okay but I don't think I'll get it again.

This did not work to control oil for me but I have very oily skin. It made it a little greasy but it did moisturize alright. UPDATE: It's ok if you use it very sparingly. Still doesn't control the shine.

Not really worth the 12.00 but makes my skin realy soft. Kind of smelly, though, and doesn't do much to control shine really. Especially at first, it makes my face look more shiny when first applied.

this was a complete disaster combined with Estée Lauder's Ideal Matte foundation; I shone like a christmas bauble. It was embarassing. Not for me!

This defenitely controlled shine, and, when used with the other products in the line, it worked well and kept my skin smooth.
But on it's own, it wasn't very hydrating, and I was nervous about applying a cream over oily skin. It also took a long time to absorb.

I could never get this stuff to absorb. It would just sit on top of my face, even when I used the teeniest, tiniest bit. Made me feel greasy and yucky. The smell wasn't too bad, and I actually quite like the texture of it, but it just didn't work for me.

(Note: This review is for the non-SPF moisturizer, the one in the plastic jar.) I was using the Grapeseed version, but it was just a bit too much for my normal-combo skin during the summer. So, I went back into my beloved TBS store and ended up w/ this one. It has a nice, light texture and gives just the right amount of moisture to my skin. It also has a very comfortable (not overly tingling) cooling sensation right after you apply. The price isn't bad, either ($12 for 1.7 oz/50 ml which, for me, lasts a long time). However, I too find the scent a negative point. In the jar, it's light and subtle, but when you put it on, it takes on a strong men's cologne or aftershave smell. After a minute or 2, the fish market smell comes into play. It fades after awhile, though. Actually, I hate the aftershave part of the fragrance more than the fishy one. The good news is that I only use this at night, so I'm mostly asleep when it's on my face. As for the shine control part of the name, like I said I'm asleep so I can't comment much on that, but I will say that my face isn't bad when I wake up in the morning. With the Grapeseed moisturizer, I was a big ol' oil slick. Will update as the weather gets colder and drier...

Left my skin feeling and looking too greasy. Didn't do the best job of moisturizing either, and I don't like the smell sitting on my face. There are better products out there, but then again there is nothing specifically "bad" about this one. Give it a try if you're really interested.

i recently bought in as i was looking for some sunscreen protection in a moisturiser. found it in this product which has spf15. it is easily absorbed into the skin. does keep oil at bay for a few hours at least. the scent is not too bad, smells fresh. has a cooling sensation when just applied. will recommend this product to those with combination skin with oily t-zone. definitely worth a try!
update: stopped using this product as it seemed to be clogging my pores. the seaweed scent is beginning to smell like fish on some days and makes me sick!

I have acne prone on the dryer side sensitive skin. I can't use products for Dry skin because it promotes acne, so I use mild products for oily skin. I found this moisturizer to be a nice light oil free moisturizer that does NOT promote acne. It controls what little oil I get on my T-Zone, has a mild scent, absorbes quick and is great for the price. I did and will buy again!

I really liked this moisturiser, it did it's job and made my skin feel and look great. It absorbed into the skin really well and didn't make my greasy, which is normally quite oily!

Again, as with the seaweed cleanser, this is too fragranced for sensitive skin! And for oil absorbing properties...look elsewhere, because this controlled nothing. Overall, this TBS skincare line is way overpriced drugstore-quality facial care, and way better items can be found. At least it can always be returned for a refund, so I wasn't out any $$.
