I did not like this at all. It burned my skin after only the minimal time listed in directions. All Nair products have an offensive odor to me.

this must be the ultimate YMMV product! i was kind of worried about burning, but i had a pleasant experience overall, and it worked really well.

i used the cucumber scented sensitive skin version. its inexpensive, plus the store was running a special, so i thought it was worth a try. i got it to remove BFs back hair. fun!

i patch tested myself on my forearm (if i tried it on BF and it burned, theres no way he would forgive me.) i have hair there, but i usually choose to leave it. i didnt experience any discomfort, and the smell was not great, but it was tolerable. this is the first time i have used nair in 10+ years, and the formula has greatly improved. the last time i used it, it didnt remove the hair at all. this time, it was dissolved in the recommended 10 minutes with absolutely no adverse effects.

i patch tested BF on his inner arm, and it went well. i covered his entire back, and aside from being a little stinky, all went well. he rinsed off in the shower, and he was no longer rockin his wolfman look. finally!

three days later, he broke out in blemishes from neck to lower back. i dont know why he had this reaction, and they are not ingrown hairs. i wont use it on him again, but ill use it on myself. overall, it works well and is convenient.

What's with the bad reviews? I never felt any type of irritation on my skin. The smell may not be the most pleasant thing ever, but I can stand it. I keep it on about 10 minutes. I think I should leave it on longer, because after I remove it I seem to have a small patch or two of slight stubble. My legs did seem smoother for longer, though. Not a bad product. My friend uses it and says she has to leave it on for almost 1/2 an hour.

DON'T BUY THIS WORTHLESS CRAP!!!

I have extremely difficult to remove black/dark brown fuzz that covers pretty much my whole body. I've tried a number of things but the worst thing I have EVER tried is Nair. It turns my hair to mush and that's it other than leaving unsightly and painful burns. The swelling, redness and burning is unbelievable. Even cold water on it burns. So in my opinion, NAIR IS WORTHLESS!

I have hard to remove, dark brown hair. I've used two kinds. First I tried one that I think was the orgininal scent. It had this horrible cucumber-like scent that wouldn't go away and made me feel sick to my stomach. The other was Quick and Easy 4-minute lotion in applicious scent. The smell was a whole lot better - a WHOLE lot better! Unfortunately, both didn't help to remove much hair. I leave them on for the maximum time and they only remove a very minimum amount of hair. What's left is matted down, brittle, and black from the chemicals. And if I try to leave it on longer than I should, it starts to burn my skin off. I've heard that their cold wax strips are good...but they seem to be discontinued?

Update: This is even worse than I thought it was. I tried it again yesterday and was left with the most awful red spots. But that's not all. When i leaned closer to the mirror to inspect it, i saw bunches of white flakes, as if my skin was dry. But it was really that the Nair burned through the skin and left it falling out in clumps! I had to exfoliate harsly to get rid of it.

It's really tricky using this, if the reviews haven't scared off any possible consumers yet. I got the rasberry scented nair and it's a very strong smell, something like a hair salon. The bottle says to leave the lotion on for 4 mins.

after four mins, i wiped it gently off with a wet towel. almost none of the hair came off and it burned like crazy. i gritted my teeth and applied the nair again. that was a BIG MISTAKE. within seconds, the burning got so bad that i was literally tearing. i wiped it off after about five minutes. most of the hair came off, but i had to finish with tweezers. the nair left big red marks all over the area. and washing? forget it. it burns like crazy when even a drop of water gets near it. i had to wait at least two days before washing.

I would not recommend this to anyone. it doesnt provide miracle results and is very painful.

What a waste of money. I applied; waited; suffered; removed. And what happened you ask? Oh nothing...JUST THE WORST, MOST GIANT RED WELTs KNOWN TO MANKIND (and some primates, too) ON MY FACE. It actually ЪΊėđ!!! My DermaBlend™ concealer couldn't even tackle this puppy! It was ugly, and didn't go away for 2 WHOLE DAYS! (And, after all that, I still had to go get my tweezers, Mr.Tugger, to get rid of the hair my so called "hair remover" so obviously neglected.)

If, like me, you accidently used Nair and it gave you big red welts/irritation heres what you can do:

First of all, these big red patches will appear almost immediately after Nair application/removal. They can REALLY HURT A LOT!!! They will have to heal overnight, too. (I actually had to stay home from school one day!) 1.)To decrease inflammation and pain, apply liberally some good ol' Neosporin (look for the Pain Relief kind, believe me!). I used Neosporin religiously throughout the day, only reapllying when it wore off, and the redness decreased dramatically!

2.) NEVER USE NAIR AGAIN! Now, I always tweeze or go get waxed at a salon.

Don't use this product! I bought the face cream, and it was a piece of crap. When i put it above my lip, i left it on for 5 min, and it did nothing. So, i washed it off, and after 10 min, i attempted it again. I decided to leave it on for 7 minutes, and when i washed it off this time, My upper lip turned BRIGHT red. I'm not exaggerating at all. It was very dark, and very red, and it burned like NOTHING i had EVER felt before. I woke up the next day, and had to overload my face with make up or else it looked like i had a giant strip of red (as if i had just finished waxing my face), even after 24 hours. It hurts to laugh, it hurts to smile, I can not believe that a product made for the face could cause pain like this. Please take my advice and do not use this.

In the name of all that is holy, do a patch test before putting this very strong stuff on your skin. Like many other revewers I failed to do so, and like many others I got (literally) burned. While rinsing it off I broke out into a terrible red rash. It was itchy and swollen, and the discomfort prevented me from scrubbing it off properly, so it left me horribly itchy AND still hairy. The marks were still healing a week later and I had to wear opaque pantyhose or pants the whole time. BOTTOM LINE: If you absolutely must try this for yourself, do a patch test, and get it on sale because you're more likely than not to throw it out after one use.

Let me just update...because I am still very PO'ed at Nair. I know I should move on, perhaps with time, medication, and therapy...

I have counseled every person I know who is even thinking about using Nair to run away from it as fast as they possibly can. The skin on my legs is still recovering, and I used this over three months ago! I still notice breakouts and red itchy spots on the same places where I used the Nair.

I did do a patch test on my ankle, which turned out fine, and I did leave it on for only four minutes, carefully following the instructions. And I still ended up with chemical burns (see my review below).

I suppose, if you want to torture yourself and ruin your skin, then go ahead and use this product. Otherwise, do what I did and get yourself an Intuition razor.

9/12/07: So here I am, years later, and I still have problems in the same skin spots where Nair gave me such horrible chemical burns. No, it isn't in my head. Yes, I followed the directions to the letter. I initally wrote this in 2004, and three years later I am still experiencing problems in the same areas....that should tell you something about Nair.

I'm surprised to see how many people have been burned using Nair. I only use Nair for keeping my bikini area neat. I have never experienced any of the severe reactions some here have had. I do find that it is extremely temporary, since the hair grows back immediately. Okay for a quick fix and thats it.

Don't buy this!!! It burns (also left a scar), clogs pores(has mineral oil), smells absolutely horrid and is just generally a nasty product to put on your skin. The ingredients alone should scare anyone away.
Stay Away!!!!!

SATAN IN A BOTTLE!!! It removes hair occasionally, but it ALWAYS burns skin, and leaves an awful scar that will never let you forget its wrath. Now if that doesn't persuade you not to try it, I don't know what will!

This stuff smells HORRIBLE. Gah I've never smelt anything so icky. It smells exactly like burning chemicals.. gross.

It works ok. I only tested it so I'm not all that certain. I used it yesterday and the hair is already coming back.. so I wouldn't say it lasts longer than shaving. I apply Johnson&Johnson's Baby Lotion two hours or so before this and I have no problems with burning or anything (it might not be the lotion though.. but I'm not taking any chances!) . Good product if you want a fast painless shave.

It removes hair okay, but the burning last for days. You wanna douse your skin in thickly applied anaesthetic cream after that !!
It smells,it burns,it doesn't work worth a hoot.
I give this one a Great BIG R for Rotten.

I bought this with the intention of using on my face above my lip and found it worked... OK. But I wasn't terribly impressed to be honest. I thought Immac did a much smoother job. So far, alright...

A few weeks later. Getting tired of using Immac on my underarms due to its poor application material. I see my little bottle of Nair and think why not? I liked the idea of it having a brush. So I gave it a go, leaving it on even longer than the normal recommended time. Much to my disappointment, it removed hardly anything. It only seemed to loosen the follicle very slightly so that some of the hairs came off in the shower. I wouldn't recommend this product at all. Try Immac for legs. I still have to experiment with other underarm creams, but I won't be using this again!
