This scent is incredible. I know it doesn't work for some people but on me it dries to a soft lovely tea scent. My husband loves it. It is not a trendy scent and bound to be a classic. This is a great scent for any season. I own and love Brit but could never wear it in the hot summer. Burberry really did a great job with The Beat. Love it.

This was a nice, non-offensive scent that would be perfect for work or somewhere else you don't want to smell too strongly. I wouldn't buy this myself (I got a tester from Sephora) because it just doesn't stand out in the crowd to me. However, if I received this as a gift, I would not return it and would definitely wear it. On me, it smelled like a soft floral with a hint of citrus.

I love this scent. I bought the larger bottle.
I've had it for a few weeks so far and I wear it almost every day. It's really lovely and not overpowering. The sweetness wears down throughout the day and ends up in a beautiful floral, still young.
Love it!

I first smelled this from one of those magazine page sample things, and it was amazing. Perfect floral with some fruit. But then I bought the real thing and there was a heaviness to it that i didnt get from the magazine, and it gives me a headache every time i wear it.

Ok, I just got this sample in a mag and I'm totally in love for the time being!! I ordered a bottle online about an hour after getting the sample....that's how great it smells! I'll have to update though once it arrives. I know the actual perfume wont smell EXACTLY like the sample strip....but here's hopin! :-) Will update soon ... **UPDATE** Yep, still in love!! :-) I am so happy with this perfume! The bottle is awesome, the cap fits great, the sprayer is one of the best! It sprays in more of a mist than my other perfumes. It does have a warm drydown, but it's really pretty and not too sweet! I happen to think it's great for spring! Not too heavy at all....and I'm used to more fruity scents, but still love this! Just very pretty and feminine

The Beat is a cheerful, lighthearted scent that wears warmly on the skin. I like it because it is fairly independent of the other Spring/Summer 2008 launches, and I think it is seasonless. It's not very wearable on ME, so I won't purchase it, but I really like how it wears on others. I'm digging the Ceylon Tea accord, though. Wish it were more pronounced.

Burberry The Beat is a recently released scent from the design house that targets the slightly younger crowd; the scent itself as well as the bottle design and its feature model Agyness Deyn seem to reflect this focus on energy and movement.
The question of whether the fragrance smells good is easy: Yes it does! It's a fruity-floral concoction which morphs into a somewhat powdery drydown. I do detect traces of pepper in the initial impression as well although this does not seem to linger on for too long. I would commit to buying a bottle of this except for one reservation- the powdery feel. I love Burberry's scents in general, Brit and London being my favorites which seem to be more "cleaner" because of the lack of a powdery drydown. I imagine those who are sensitive to certain elements in scents may not appreciate this, especially in the summer months.
With this said however, I do feel like the scent fits a certain personality to a tee, someone who's unapologetically unpredictable, spontaneous and a little crazy. In this sense I can really see its attractiveness and sex appeal. The EDP has great lasting power, and I must say I love the bottle for its design and functionality!
*ADDENDUM*: To my great surprise the powdery note I was hesitant about initially completely disappears in the height of Summer! I've been consistently using this since I've moved to a tropical area, this scent is excellent in hot climates! Who would've thought! Bumping up to 5 lipsticks, it has in fact become one of my HGs! :)

After going 'cold turkey' for a while with my perfume obsession, I caved in and purchased this today. I tested it before hand and was impressed by the notes listed and the packaging. It's a fresh but sweet fragrance, which has lasting power but at the same time doesn't give me a headache. Like others have mentioned it is similar to V&R Flowerbomb, but it isn't as sweet. The bottle is really nice, I bought the 30ml and it looks just so cute! For me it's a welcome change from my usual citriusy scents, but isn't too sweet either and the lasting power is really good on me, I could smell it even after showering! I don't know if I will finish the bottle, (as I hardly ever do), but would recommend it. Edit; I gave this to my cousin, just wasn't me.

Yummm! I adore this fragrance. The lasting power is fairly decent on me so I don't have any complaints. I also tried the lotion as well and it smells just as fabulous as the perfume. I also adore the bottle the lid attaches securely so it won't fall off in my purse. UPDATE: sometimes its a bit overpowering to me. I have to be *in the mood* to wear this or else i get a headache. sigh

Love this fragrance. I was looking for something to wear that was fresh, unique, and not too overpowering and I found it! I can wear it to work and out during the day and I feel special. I have already gotten compliments on how nice I smell and that can totally make your day when you are at work. I would definitely buy this again.

I absolutely love this perfume! After smelling just a sample, I knew I had to have it. I bought the small bottle and the lotion to make sure I love it before purchasing the bigger bottle. I've also been wanting to try the elixir as I hear it is more concentrated and longer lasting.. which is the only downside to the regular fragrance. The staying power on me isn't the best. But oh well, guess I'll just have to spray more often :)

I think this will be my favorite of the new spring perfumes. It's feminine and uplifting. A different perfume than the average scents you see everywhere on the counters. The notes are bergamot, mandarin, Ceylon tea, cardamom, pink pepper, bluebell, iris, white musk, vetiver and cedarwood. I love any perfume with bluebells and iris. I think they are what makes this perfume stand out among the others. I will be getting a sample as soon as possible and then a bottle if I stay enchanted with the scent on skin.

I love this perfume! Hubby and I went into burberry because hubby needed a new polo shirt. While he was doing that I saw the display for the new perfume and the beautiful bottle drew me in.I smelled this and instantly knew it was love.It smells so fresh and upbeat. Needless to say the bottle is sitting on my vanity and I wear it every day. My poor flowerbomb doesn't get any love any more.

I won't go into the notes,as the first reviewer did a beautiful job of that, but I will give my thoughts on this scent:
Firstly,if you like DK Cashmere Mist, you will LOVE The Beat.Christopher Bailey,Burberry's "It Brit" as described by Marie Claire magazine, worked for Donna Karan-coincidence? I don't think so!
I immediately thought DK as soon as I smelled it,then saw the article. It is one of those love ir or hate it fragrances,I think; I won't rush out and buy it but I will once I run out of Brit for a change.
Also, I'm not sure if Target is still offering this for sale but "After the Rain" is a spot on dupe.I wear this as well (made by Arran Aromatics,I think this is a UK company as well.)
The Beat is for that quirky, artsy girl that likes to color outside the lines.(Wait, that's me..:P ) It's an unexpected woody floral that manages to come together harmoniously, and I'd venture to say could be worn year round.

I got a free sample, and I've worn this for two days. I really like this fragrance for work or daytime. The reviewer below described it well. The scent is more complex than many daytime fragrances, which I really like. It's unique and long-lasting. But, I would not choose this as a nighttime/going out perfume.

I just got this today, and I think it will be another popular addition to the Burberry line of fragrances for women.
The notes are (incomplete list, bear with me) Ceylon Tea, iris, bluebell, pink pepper, vetiver, bergamot, cedarwood, and white musk. The pink pepper note is pronounced and has a similar piquancy as Givenchy's Hot Couture. I wore it for half the day, hoping the pink pepper would dry down, but it has great staying power and continued through the dry down. If you liked Hot Couture, this is one to try. As much as I wanted to love it, I didn't. Still, it's a refreshing change to the fruity florals that are seemingly tumbling after one another onto the shelves.
***Edited*** I've been wearing this for a few days, and the Pink Pepper is growing on me. It's not as crisp as Hot Couture; there is a real warmth that layers nicely with a mandarin note (forgot about that one earlier). I really like how it developed on my skin. And I agree with the next reviewer who felt it wouldn't work as an evening scent; this is good for daywear.
