Update: I don't know what was happening before but I got the hang of this top coat and now it's HG, I can't do a manicure without it. I'm upgrading my rating to 5!!!
Oh my frickin' word! Yes... I'm slightly frustrated! I purchased the Seche Vite Top coat last week. So far I've failed numerous times using this product. The problem? My nail polish chips and peels within 24hrs! I've tried different polish, different base coats and nothing works! I don't own SV base coat but I'm afraid to waste my money on another SV product. Although, you shouldn't have to use their base coat to get their top coat to work properly. Can someone please tell me is if you need to use the SV base coat to keep your polish from peeling off? Thanks!

I paint my nails all the time, but I am super impatient and usually ruin my nails before they dry. I have tried so many different quick dry topcoats, but this beats them all by far. A lot of topcoats leave my nails with those pesky little bubbles, but not this! My nails look perfectly smooth and glassy! I love this! I also find that my nail polish lasts longer without chipping when I use this. My only complaint is that when you get about halfway through the bottle the product tends to thicken and it can be difficult to reach the product as a result. However, I am willing to overlook that because this makes my nails look fabulous and it dries so quickly!

I ADORE this product! I do my nails about twice a week so this product is necessary in my book. I can do my nails 10 minutes before bed and I'll wake up looking like I got a fresh manicure, when before I would wake up with those terrible sheet marks. I have to tips to offer: use a big glop and don't press down too hard when applying the top coat. Also, purchse Basically U finishing spray.... I found it at Ulta for $2.99 and I'm so glad I did!

I've gone through so many bottles of this over the years. Along the way I've tried many other top coats, most recently the Sephora for OPI top coat. Using other brands makes me appreciate how fast seche vite dries. Honestly. After using the Sephora for OPI topcoat several times in the afternoon my nails SEEMED dry within 20 mins or so (which is still a long time) but every time I use it I wake up with that texture imprinted on my nails from my sheets. So clearly my nails weren't totally dried after like 9 hours haha. Anyway Seche Vite has never let me down. I can get on with my business within 5 mins or so of putting this on. I've never had a problem with chipping and it makes my nails nice and shiny.

I have acrylic nails so I dont know how this works on natural nails, but on my acrylics its GREAT. It dries my opi nail polish super fast, gives the most glossy finish (much better than OPI top coat and nails inc) and my polish looks glossy and fresh for at least a week after (no chipping or peeling of any kind, but as i said i do have acrylics) For me, beautiful top coat :) Oh and u know when your at the nail salon and trying to wait the standard 10 mins for the polish to dry before u can go, and sometimes leave after more like 5 mins well even then i have never ruined my nails in any way with this top coat, i remember once leaving my nail salon after just under 10 min and having the opi top coat on, and i caught one nail in a bit of my hair and it streaked the nail so much, with opi i really had to wait a good 15 min before i go leave the nail shop :( and even then u have to be so careful for another 30 min!!

I so wanted to love this product after all the rave.. Though it dried extremely fast, it made my nail polish peel and chip away faster than if I didnīt have any top coat on.
I first noticed it after I had taken a shower. After I came out, my nail polish feel of like crazy. I hoped it was the shower, but it wasnīt. It happened the next time I used it as well..
I think a top coat should make your nail polish look better, make your polish dry faster and make it last longer. Making polish last longer is what I look for the most in a top coat, and it failed to do so.

So far I love this top coat. One coat on top of my manicure polish gives it a shiny shellacked effect. It's been 2-3 days and so far I don't have any tip wear. However, I've noticed that my polish has been cracking from the sides. It's not super obvious and the polish is still intact but I haven't noticed this happening with my polish when I don't use SV.

I agree with the poster before me. This dries very fast, but my nails usually chip within two days of applying polish. It is very glossy though! I went a day without using it and my nails seemed very dull.

Pros: It dries really fast, is super shiny, and lasts.
Cons: If applied too soon after colour, it will cause the polish to chip and peel almost right away. It causes noticeable shrinkage on the tip of the nail (not cool Seche). It has toluene in it, which is recognized as an unsafe/toxic chemical, and if you're anything like me and occasionally nibble at your nails, toxic np is just no good. Lastly, the scent is very strong.
I really liked this at first, but once I had learned of the effects of toluene and noticed the shrinkage, I was over the hype. I have tried many TCs and haven't found one I'm in love with yet. However, I do like Barielle's Ultra Speed Dry Manicure Extender and Essie's Good To Go and am looking to try Poshe next.

Doesn't deliver the absolute highest watt shine I have ever seen in a topcoat imo (99 cent Love My Nails from Walmart is actually shinier), but in terms of drying, this is the absolute BEST. Essie Good to Go and Poshe have NOTHING on this. Dry to the touch in 5 minutes. Idk how long it takes all the layers to dry, because I usually put this on right before bed...and wake up with no sheet prints! It leaves an acrylic like finish on your nails which has really helped my thin nails grow by shielding them from breakage. It also has the ability to gloss over any minor mistakes or streakiness. I do find that when used with some brands of polish (China Glaze) it tends to chip sooner...like in 2 days. But, I will continue to purchase unless I find something that beats the drying time.
