i LOVE this foundation its my favourite and i use it everyday.i have terrible acne scars and it covers it all up without breaking me out. Only thing i would change is that maybe having a pump would be better so you wouldnt waste much product . To thin it out and make it easier to blend (because it does dry fast) i mix it with the revlon photoready and it makes my HG foundation.
PROS:
full coverage
no breakouts
matte finish
stays on all day
CONS:
no pump
Takes time to blend properly
overall this is my most used foundation ! and i love it

I have this makeup in Buff. I really like it. I also have the CS in Normal/Dry and also the CS Active Light (my favorite).
Pros:
Stays on ALL DAY
Medium Coverage
Doesn't make me break out
Price
Cons:
Packaging - needs a pump for ease-of-use
SPF too low (I bought the Norm/Dry w/ SPF 15 and see hardly any diff)
Overall: This is one of the best foundations for people with very oily skin like me. It stays on great. The colors are great, too. I have also used the Normal/Dry, and see very little difference (even though I have very oily skin). I think I will repurchase the Normal/Dry in the future b/c it is too much of a hassel to have to apply a suitable SS, and then my foundation on top.
When I want a lighter foundation, I use the CS Active Light and it is AWESOME. Sometimes I need a heavier coverage, and the reg CS foundations do that.
Update: I was thinking about the packaging & it really isn't the worst ever. I mean, think of those crazy packages with sponges attached to them or brushes or the Revlon one that you turn a dial for the correct color, etc. This is a sturdy glass bottle typical of many foundations on the market.

I've been using this a few weeks now. I like it but it's not perfect. I must have oilier skin than most people because this does not keep oil away at all. I still have to do my 9am touch up - 3 hours after application - which is the norm for me. I was hoping that with this I could go a lot longer between touchups. Plus side is that VERY little comes off when I blot. So I still have foundation on at the end of the day.
That being said the colour match is PERFECT (natural tan). I posted on the board before that I couldn't stop looking at myself in the mirror because my face and neck matched perfectly. That never happens even with no makeup because I have redness in the nose cheek areas. I prefer applying with the Sonia Kashuk flat top brush which does a great job. I've tried dry and wet sponge, and using fingers for application but it was always too cakey looking for my taste. The smell was quite strong the first time I opened the bottle but it literally lasts less than 10 seconds after applying so no big deal. The pump issue - I never understood why people complained about having no pump (I used to be powder foundation only). I get it now. What a pain in the arse to get product out. My bottle is still new so it's fairly easy to get it out but I am not looking forward to when I get to the bottom of the bottle. It's going to take forever for the product to drizzle out of the bottle. Will I buy this again? Most likely. I still want to try EL DW and Clarins Everlasting (??) though.

I have had almost the same experience as YellowRoseofTexas below. After over 20 years of wearing foundation, I have found the first drugstore foundation which works for me.
For reference I am a MAC NC45 and the color Caramel in Oily/Combination matches my yellow/orange skin under tones perfectly. This foundation just seems to melt into my skin and provides a very dewy and even finish. What I love most is that it stays put all day and my skin does not look tired or muddy. With this foundation, I apply my YSL Sun Powder in No 2 for a more bronze-playful look or my Caron Powder in Andalouse. On days when my skin is not its best and I have hyper-pigmentation from breakouts, I use concealer (NARS in Toffee or Laura Mercier Secret Concealer in SC-5) after foundation has been applied or I go over the spots with more than one coats. This foundation is easily buildable.
Another great attribute of this SoftFlex formula is that the finish is just as nice when applied with the fingers. This really saves my life when I am late in the morning. Due to my having oily skin which blemishes easily, I am not the type of girl who can walk out the door without foundation. Sad but true!
While this foundation is not as cheap in Germany (17 Euro) as in the US, it is still great value for the money. I took 1 point off for the bottle as it had no pump. I purchased a glass pump bottle in the Apothecary and decanted the foundation so now I have a convenient pump foundation. I have done the same with my NARS Sheer Glow. This works pretty well.
My top foundations for NC45 Skintype
- Laura Mercier Oil Free Foundation - Toffee Bronzed
- NARS Sheer Glow - Macao
- Guerlain Parure Extreem - No. 24 Dore Moyen (cool)
- Guerlain Parure Extreem - 006 Beige Tres Fonce (warm)
- Creme de la Mer Cream Foundation - Bronze
- Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer - Walnut or Tan
- Revelon ColorStay Soft Flex - Caramel (new to list)

This is a drugstore foundation with brand name quality. The best part about this foundation is that it controls oil quite well. Much better than my MUFE foundation and LM foundation. Only drawback is that it does not come with a pump. But, that is minor. Overall, very good product. I will definitely repurchase some other colors for year round use.

For all you ladies, including myself, who have complained about the packaging of this product, we are in LUCK!
They have airless, sanitary pump bottles for cosmetics for sale! Best of all, they are re-usable! Simply pour your Revlon Colorstay into the bottle, snap the cap, and voila! Pumpable foundation! =) I peeled the label off of my Revlon and stuck it onto my pump bottle to make it "look more professionl".
You can buy them in sets of (2bottles) for around $3.99 on ebay.
Here's the link: http://health-beauty.shop.ebay.com/Health-Beauty-/26395/i.html?_catref=1&_fln=1&_ipg=&_ssn=nicomsupply&_trksid=p3911.c0.m282

Would I buy this product again? Yes, again and again and again.
This is the only foundation I've discovered that gives me ideal coverage without breaking me out. My skin is extremely receptive to everything I put it on and usually tells me within a couple of days how it feels about it. 9 times out of 10, foundations break me out - even the oil free, acne clearing ones. This is the ONLY foundation I've found that keeps my skin looking fresh AND flawless.
And how lucky I am that it is an inexpensive drugstore find! Definitely recommended to gals with stubborn skin. See what happens.

Well, I just recently tried this on a whim. I have looked at Revlon foundation for years but never purchased until now- not sure why. I was previously using Rimmel MIneral foundation and really do like but wanted a change...went to the new Sephora minerals for a bit but wasn't happy with the color. So...tired this stuff out yesterday and really like! Great coverage, doesn't feel or look cakey and color is pretty good. Would like a tad more of a yellow tint but I can live with this...good stuff.

This is my second review, yes i'm a newbie in make up & in this site :p
First of all, sorry for my english, i don't use this language for my daily life. I'm a southeast asia girl, who has fair-medium skin tone with normal skin type.
I bought this a week ago,,,and i like it (but i don't love it much). This product has good coverage & it stays all day long. Smells like alcohol/chemical product at first, but after a few minutes after, it goes better! Besides that, it doesn't greasy at all :)
But in the counter where i bought this (i dunno in another places), they only have 2 colors (nude & ivory), so i picked up "nude" which is too white for me! :( I have to apply it lightly in order that it can look natural onto my skin).
I wont repurchase this because i wanna try another :p

Pro: The coverage is good without looking heavy. Just a little goes a long way. It makes my face look flawless and stays on all day long.
Con: The design of the bottle is not good. I don't want to risk spilling a lot of foundation when pouring it out. So I just dip a cotton swab in the bottle to get the foundation and that's about the amount I need each time. As a drugstore foundation, the price is a bit high. Besides, the colors are all too pinkish. It's hard to find one that's suitable for light to medium yellowish Asian skin.

Love love love love. Now my HG.
Great foundation. I love the colour selection - I'm asian, MAC NC15/20 and I got this in Buff and Sand Beige, both in Combination/Oily, and it's perfect.
Amazing variable coverage. It's actually not that heavy if you apply it lightly with a normal foundation brush, while stippling with a brush like MAC 187 gives you a full coverage while still not being cakey.
I actually don't mind the glass bottle. I just press the opening against the back of my hand and flip it upside for a second, and flip back and I have the perfect amount of foundation in a little circle on the back of my hand. I don't mind the smell either.
With all of my previous foundations (Clinique Clarifying Makeup and Clarins Truly Matte), I seemed to get shiny within 2 hours of applying foundation and powder in the morning, and I needed to powder every 2 hours throughout the day. However, with Revlon Colourstay, I can powder way less - once every 5 hours or so. It controls oil really well - I still do get oily, but instead off looking shiny and greasy, my skin looks natural and glowy. The foundation absorbs and disperses oil very well. It stays on for a really long time. At the end of a long day, my skin still looks beautiful.
It hasn't broken me out at all, which is great.
One downside is that it does look white-ish in flash photos, but in person or in non-flash photography, it looks flawless.

Really does what it says and stays put on my skin. The packaging isn't great as there is no pump, and the smell isn't too bad, just smells like peroxide, or something clean. Color matching was a little tough, but overall realllly like it.

Please please please don't use this product. When I started using it, I had moderate acne, nothing cystic but just tiny nude bumps on my forehead and whiteheads on my cheeks and the ocassional underground pimple. I started using this product thinking it would be amazing, considering all of the
reviews I read on MUA. Oh no. I used it for four mounths, and I honestly must have been blind, because I had been getting cysts all over my cheeks and forehead and just looked like a hot mess. I continued using the product, thinking that my skin was just naturally crappy and being resentful. I wasted way too many tears in the period when I used this product. Plus, this stuff is crazy heavy. Let your skin breathe! I am now using Clinique makeup, going back and forth between the acne solutions and superfit foundations. Its been a week and a half, and my forehead acne has been reduced to two of the smallest pimples you'll ever see, and as for my cheeks, well, I have one relatively small painful pimple. One. Of course I still have hyperpigmentation on my cheeks from the cysts that this product gave me, but I'd take hyperpigmentation instead of acne ANY day. Please don't get false hope from all the reviews here, let me be the example of the effects of this product. Unless you enjoy cystic acne, in which case, this product is right for you.

I was using Colorstay until I could find something better. I have pretty oily skin, so I was using the combo/oily formulation. This did a really good job at keeping me matte... but too much so? I switched foundations and I realized that I wasn't smiling as much because the Revlon made me feel like my foundation was going to crack... It didn't, but it felt like it was going to, which I didn't like. There also wasn't a color match for me, I had to mix Buff (too dark) and Ivory (too light and pink). There isn't a great shade range if you're really pale, otherwise they have a ton of shades to choose from! I also had to use a TON of product to get the full coverage I need, so a bottle wouldn't last me more than a month, which would be expensive. But, with using so much product, this foundation didn't look cakey. So... If you don't have too much to hide, and are a relatively normal skin-tone unlike me, this is a fantastic drugstore foundation. I have acne-prone skin and it didn't make me break out! I had to resort to department store foundation, and I have found something I like a lot better, and will last a lot longer, as it takes less product to cover. I would repurchase if I couldn't afford the dept. store foundation.

Thank you MUA for helping me find my HG foundation!
I have very oily skin and even though this doesn't keep shine away it does stick to my skin so it doesn't come off when I blot. It looks great at the end of the day and usually I don't need to touch up to go out at night.
There are two things that are bothersome about this foundation. First, it smells like a marker when you first put it on. Second, it dries very quick so you have to work one section at a time and really make sure you blend quickly.

This is my second review for this product. I started using this product when I started taking Acne medication and it made my acne get worse before it got better and I blamed it on the Foundation. It turns out it wasn't. Now that I don't have a billion cystic zits on my face, I got to use this how it was MEANT to be used. OMG - I'm deeply in love. This is the best foundation I've ever used. A little goes SUCH a long way. I use less than a dime amount of foundation on my entire face. I love how you can control how sheer or how full you want the coverage to be. I use a tiny drop on a sponge and just spread it through my entire face. - I then blend it with a large brush. Then I use a bit more on my scars on blemishes and leaves a nice finish. The only thing I have to complain about is the color selection. They DO have an ok color selection, but I only have to complain about the undertones. It's too neutral for me. I'm a pale Latina with yellow undertones. I use buff and it seems to leave a bit of a grayish tint on my skin. It's alright though becuase then I use a powder with a yellow undertone to balance it for me. I hate the packaging though. I think I've wasted about a month worth of product already. It sucks - I wonder if there's any way I could buy a pump for it. If you know of ANY places where I could buy a pump for it, please message me. :D It lasts FOREVER! It definitely stays true to its "ColorStay" name. It doesn't oxidize either so you don't end up with an orange face at the end of the day. That pretty much sold this for me. This is the drugstore foundation you will ever use. I can guarantee you that. Go buy this now!

EDIT: Strange... this stuff severely aggravated my skin after not using it for a few months. In fact, this foundation triggered my rosacea flare up. I was able to use this with no problems during my pregnancy, so I'm incredibly sad that I can no longer use it. Changing to three lippies for a neutral feedback, and no... I will not repurchase.
Original review:
Holy moly! I'm never a big fan of liquid foundation because they always cake up on me, make me oilier, accentuate flakiness, have the wrong shade, etc etc... but I just struck gold with this one. First off, let me thank olelala for her extremely useful review under the first Revlon Colorstay foundation version (the one without SoftFlex). She listed out all the shades available with short but succinct descriptions of each and which type of skin tone will suit which shade. To find her review, just click on Most Helpful from Sort By drop down list. I found my perfect shade based on her guide, which is Sand Beige. When I tested it at the store, it completely disappeared into my jaw line with no discernible "fringe" or cast... or anything that indicates that there's foundation there. I bought a bottle and used it the next day. It's extremely easy to blend, I just use my fingers and spread it around and pat/blend gently on areas that need more coverage. Personally I don't mind the lack of pump, in fact I think it's better this way as I don't pour it onto the back of my hand, I put my middle finger at the edge and slowly tilt the bottle, letting it coat my finger and then transfer immediately onto my skin. This way, I get to control EXACTLY how much I need, unlike most products that come with a pump, which is usually too much or too little. I also don't dot around my face first - I blend as I go and it has worked well for me.
Now, the reasons why I'm in love with this foundation:
1) I have oily skin and it's quite fantastic at controlling my oilies. However my nose area still wins. *sigh* I just blot once or twice a day and dust the area with Revlon Colorstay pressed powder. However, considering I have extremely oily skin to begin with, currently pregnant with my hormones causing more oil production, and live in hot and humid Southeast Asia... this is amazing already! I can't wait to use it after giving birth. :D
2) It's so easy to blend and I don't need a sponge. As far as coverage goes, I don't have major blemishes, but I do have big pores, uneven discoloration, and some freckles. It doesn't cover my big pores well but the rest... thumbs up. It does minimize my pore size though - with a dusting of my loose powder my skin appear airbrushed.
3) The price is right, and it's easily available.
4) After applying it in the morning and coming home at the end of the day, it still looks flawless. Best of all, I don't look like I have makeup on! It just looks like my skin, but better. I'm in shock still.
It's definitely one of the BEST purchase I've done and it totally deserves HG status. LOVE LOVE LOVE!

Although the coverage is good, it is a little too thick and cakey! I was okay using it in the winter time because it is slightly moisturizing, but now that its summer it begins to feel like mud on my face. I also think it makes me break out. I'm still looking for a "thinner" foundation that has full coverage to cover up my scars. I like the PhotoReady by Revlon better, I think I'll get that one for now.
