Amazing on the waterline. Smudges like a demon, great if you want the smokey look, however, if you like a precise line dont use this. The colour is really jet black and the texture is super smooth.
Overall a great eyeliner but in the UK not easy to get hold of. For UK gals who love this try Mac Smoulder. Its just as good if not better.

The color is amazing, but it's too messy. I wouldn't dare circle my eyes with this. To make it work for me, I dot a little along my top lash and smudge it together. Stila's Smudge Pot in Black is way better.

Once again Stila has fooled people with their cute packaging. This product gets so much hype and I'm not entirely sure why.
PROS-
-Goes on smooth
CONS-
-Incredibly messy, even after a few hours
-Smudges EVERYWHERE. If you put it on your top lid, it will find its way to your bottom lid and into your crease and pretty much everywhere else.
-NO longevity WHAT-SO-EVER. This crap just doesn't stay on. PERIOD.
-Very waxy
I would recommend saving your money. Stila has great shadows and mascara but other than that, its a bunch of over priced crap in cute packaging.

This pencil is VERY VERY black. Goes on super smooth and is easy to blend or smoke , once its dry, its dry, wont budge. Doesnt work very well on water line, smudges on bottom lid. Easy to make cat eye by applying on top lid and using brush to create cat eye on outter corners. love it.

The color payoff is just GREAT. The black is super intense & the BLACKEST eye liner I've ever used. It applies on so easily because the product is so creamy. I leave one lippie off because it goes everywhere so easily when I apply it. It takes one LITTLE touch or one LITTLE MISTAKE & it'll just go crazy. This eye liner don't really smudge for me but I've read reviews about how it smudges really badly. I've wore it the WHOLE DAY & it didn't really smudge for me. It probably did a little in the corner but it wasn't that big of a deal for me. It's quite expensive but if you're looking for a very intense black then THIS is it. I think everyone should at least own one just to test it out & see if it works for them. I'll probably buy one more but of course I prefer my Urban Decay. This is another good alternative as well as the Bourjois eye liner!

I really like this product. It's smudgy but in a good way, it's great for a smoky eye or anything that needs a darker eyeliner. My only problem with it is that it gets on my upper lid throughout the day. I don't know what to do about that. But the color is very, very black. It's the darkest I've ever had. I think a lot of people are allergic to kohl, I'm not so it didn't irritate my eyes.

Bullsh*t product. Don't believe the hype.
Loved how this looked when I first put it on. I read the reviews, but the black is so deep and beautiful, I had to give it a shot.
Smudges so easily. Transfers easily. And BURNED LIKE HELL for some reason. My eyes watered all day. At the end of my first full work day wearing this product, I had to rush home and remove. Went straight back to Sephora and returned. All this at it is 19.35 w/tax here. Bullsh*t.
I will not purchase again.
*update*
Okay, I was wrong.
It's all in the technique and product combo. Went back b/c I could not find a liner as black as this one. I now use this w/ UDPP and apply only afte I've applied eyeshadow. I apply it along my lashline and my waterline, then smudge it with a pencil brush. Stays put all day.

I'm so torn over this product! It's both good and bad:
Pros:
- Really creamy so it doesn't tug at your eye
- Deepest color of black which is amazing!
Cons:
- smudges EVERYWHERE
- the pencil seems to melt some in summer
- starts to travel south of your eye :(
So overall you MUST prime your eye with this and i find you MUST also set it with a black eyeshadow and a small angle brush (especially along the waterline). When i do this i love the affect it has cos like i said its REALLY black. But i only wear it in winter cos summertime in sydney with the heat tends to make this liner smudge all over the place!

extemely creamy almost wet, very easy to apply but very touchy because of the creamy texture, goes on full color easily, smudged like crazy with and without primer, unbelieveable they are making enough money on this product to keep selling it.

I wanted to try out this pencil (on recommendation of makeup gurus on YouTube) but didn't want to pay the full price (via Sephora and other retailers). Beauty Crunch offered this pencil in a partial set with other products, so I picked up the set for a steal (4 products for $25!).
The Kajal pencil in Onyx has great color payoff -- an intense black. It's also very creamy -- maybe a little too soft and creamy. With this pencil, I apply minimal color to my upper lash line and smudge the line with a thin liner brush. Even after carefully setting the pencil liner with black shadow, the color still smudged -- leaving me with raccoon eyes by the end of the work day.
I've been switching between the Stila Kajal pencil and the Urban Decay 24/7 pencil for the past few weeks. For now, I will stick with the 24/7 pencil -- as it is much easier to handle.

I thought this would get better reviews...
Stila's Eye Kajal is very similar to Urban Decay's 24/7 liners in that it is really smooth going on and smudges well, but needs time to dry or "set" because of this.
Upsides: Intense black color-- darkest I've ever tried, smooth application, smudges well, long lasting (for me, at least)
Downside: Needs time to dry or must be set with an eyeshadow, has high potential to smudge or fade for those who have trouble with that sort of thing, needs to be sharpened often due to the creamy texture of the product.
I love this because of the insane pigmentation and the fact that it doesn't tug at my eyelid.

When i first started wearing this i was throughly impressed bc the color is insanely rich black, only used it to line my upper lids and it was fantastic, until one day got the bright idea to use it in my waterline and that's when i applied and looked in the mirror half an hour later, starred in awe at the prettiest raccoon eyes i've ever saw in my life, hence made the jump to mac eyeliners and fluidliners and have not looked back since, it is a good pencil only for color payoff, nothing else.

I bought this directly from Stila as a gift to my mother this Christmas. It came in a quad set with the major lash mascara, precision eyeliner brush, and a shadow pan. The set was on sale, so I payed a rediculously low price.
That said, I love this liner and borrow it quite frequently. It smudges, but I find it stays on my waterline for longer than most pencils, liquids, or gels. This is the only liner I've ever applied on my waterline because I don't need to pull or apply any pressure to get my line. It's that smooth and creamy-- almost like a marker.
I have rated this liner 4/5 simply because of the smear factor.

Insanely intense black pencil. I find if u buy the the stila kajal sharper with it, its so much easier to sharpen. Its kinda on the steep side but i would def buy it again. Great for those smouldering smokey eye effects :) love it <3

This is a really creamy and soft, super intense black eyeliner that is great for that smoldering, sexy, smoky look. Blends like a dream and fades very little through the course of the day. Yes, this smudges like crazy but I can't fault it much for doing what it was designed to do. I haven't found any creamy pencil that can compare to the intensity of its color which is my main reason for considering this is a standout product. I've tried reigning in the smudge-factor with eye primers and by setting it with black e/s, hoping I could use this for looks other than the smoldering/sultry to little success. I find it's just better to let it be what it is. $18 for .04 oz
