You would think a brush is a brush whether you pay $1 or $100 and it should pretty much do the same job right? WRONG. I’m not a fan of paying crazy amounts of money for makeup tools but for a couple more bucks you can definitely get a better brush. For one, this brush isn't soft and I kind of felt like it was scratching my face. I wouldn't really have noticed if it wasn't for the fact that I have a MAC face brush so I can definitely tell the difference (not that I’m advising you to spend 2 paychecks on a MAC brush, I'm sure there are cheaper good quality brushes). Second, from what I can remember, it sheds quite a bit. It wasn’t the worst brush in the world. It is definitely manageable, but, why bother?

i dont understand why people like this product... i mean this brush is not soft at all and every time when you wash it the color of the brush comes off ... its not even worth a dollar ...

Basically, this is an awful brush. It sheds way too much, more than any of the other elf brushes I have, not as soft and was poorly made (broke off after just a week). I would suggest just buying the studio line brushes (which I always highly recommend), it cost a little more, but just wait for the sales and stock up, trust me and pass on THIS particular brush.

I seem to be in the minority on this one. This brush is TONS better than the Bare Minerals All Over Face Brush, which is the only other all over powder brush that I've used. The bristles on the E.L.F brush are not soft; they're pretty stiff. I wouldn't say that this brush is scratchy, but it's not the most pleasant experience on my face. It distributes the powder evenly, and I have gotten compliments on how my foundation/powder looks (meaning, people can't tell that I have any on so they think that my skin looks nice). I haven't had any bristle fallout with this, which surprised me, because my Bare Minerals brush was fallout city. I would recommend the E.L.F. Total Face Brush. It's only one dollar.

Wow, I can't belive the poor reviews on this product, for $1.00 I think it's great. Find it to be soft, great for bronzer or setting powder, wash it regularly with minimal shedding, no loose handles...nothing. I do not use these professionally, only on myself so if it does fall apart I am only out $1. I do recommend these for anyone looking for personal use brushes, for the price you cannot beat it.

I would have to agree w/most of the reviews on here. This brush only was 1.00 so you do get what you pay for. Is it the worst brush I've ever owned...no..but it's not a great one. Mine does have a strange odor to it. I washed mine tonight and alot of hairs did come out. The handle is also loose on mine, any day it should snap off. I usually keep this in my makeup bag when I go out at night...it's ok for touching up powder, and if I lose it I wont freak out!

I bought this at Target because I have two of the ELF eyeshadow brushes that I like. Well, this is not BAD, but its not GOOD either. I washed it before I used it and some red stuff came out of the bristles and a few bristles shed from the brush. That is not a huge deal to me because it is not shedding anymore. My main problem is that the brush feels kind of rough on my face and doesn't pick up the powder and nicely as my Sephora face brush. I have only used this ELF brush twice, but so far, it is pretty decent. It will do in a pinch or if you are really new to makeup, but if you want a quality brush, this is not it.

This was a bad brush for me. I find E.L.F tends to be hit or miss, and this was a big miss for me. The main problem that I had with it was shedding. I had so many little black bristles on my face from one swipe, that it was crazy. It's also very scratchy. There isn't even a hint of it being soft. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.

HORRIBLE! I bought this because I had heard that e.l.f brushes are good for being cheap. I wish I read specific reviews first. Apparently it's the STUDIO brushes that are good and the red haired brushes are bad bad bad!
The bristles are very harsh and the handle came off by the second use...

I bought this a couple months ago because I was curious and it was only a dollar so I thought, why not? This brush is so scratchy especially after washing it. I've only used it a couple of times because it hurts my skin. I now use it to dust my laptop.

BLAH. My first brush worked ok - until the handle fell off. I could have glued it back together, but never got around to it.

The next brush I tried to use had bristles that were soooo harsh; threw it out immediately.

Overall - don't bother. Get the ELF kabuki or Studio Line flat-top powder brush.

I recently took a chance on ELF brushes because why not? They're dirt cheap! Anywho, I purchased 4 brushes, Total Face being one of them and it is probably my least favorite. It did start to shed as soon as I took it out of the packaging which was a little disappointing, and its also not the softest brush in the world either. However, it does apply powder pretty well for what you're paying for. I probably would not purchase this brush again, because it probably wont get enough use to deem re-purchasing after it wears out.

Mine must have been from a good batch! My brush is very soft and does not shed at all. It does have an odd smell, but this does not transfer to skin or skin product so it does not bother me. It's insanely cheap, I mean, where else can you get a brush like this for £1.50? True, there seem to be some quality control issues and if you are unlucky you may receive one that is prickly and sheds, but come on, if you were buying such a cheap brush at a drugstore you'd expect it to be like brillo and falling apart after one use. I'm sure even the lousy ELF brushes are not that bad. And the good ones are excellent. Absolutely worth the gamble!

Recently indulged in a Dollar General "haul". Have heard good things about the e.l.f. brand, so I picked up a few of their items, this being among them. If I could sum up this brush in one word, it would be "OUCH!" Feels like a thousand little needles pricking your face. Not only that, it sheds like crazy, too. Should have checked the MUA ratings first. I'm not too upset, though, as it was only $1. Have higher hopes for the studio line (which my Dollar General doesn't have and all items seem to be currently sold out online).

It is quite flimsy, but I like that.

It is not soft at all, very scratchy.

It sheds a lot though and also the metal part broke off the handle....

Well, it was dirt cheap, so what did I expect?

I don't like this brush at all. The hairs are a bit rough and it does shed a bit every time I wash it. It would be an "okay" brush to buy if you just want something to travel with w/o worrying about losing it.
