Really like this. It's "a look" alright, but that's no bad thing. I'm NW20, dark hair and eyes. I'm obsessed with corals at the moment and this is a very cartoony, very pigmented version. Can either look 50s, 80s or ultramodern depending on your hair/tan situation. I mostly like it with porcelain skin, black mascara and nothing else, but I'm working up a few looks that play with the orange a bit.
By the way, if you want a less fierce coral either to start with or for more of a daytime look, MAC's See Sheer is brilliant.

I love Vegas Volt! I expected it to be super bright based on the reviews (and the name), but it's a subtle, luscious pinky-coral on me. Truly beautiful, especially with Lychee Luxe lipgloss on top. By the way, you don't need to be tan to work this color-- it also works for a super-pale, retro pinup look.

I've never run through a lipstick, so I'm purchasing on the hypothesis that I will still want to wear opaque, neon tangerine lipstick when I'm in my 40's (which is when I hypothesize that I will need another tube of this stuff).
Unlike some of MAC's matte lipsticks, this one glides on and doesn't feel like I have to 'force' it into my lips. Sometimes the lipsticks are impossible to work with, but not this one.
I love the uniqueness of this color, and feel like it's worth the time investment (PPP, NW15-NW20 for ref) to make this color work with my cool toned, pale ass skin. I like pairing this with a blood orange creme blush (NARS cactus flower) and MAC glissade MSF to highlight with sushi flower e/s and violet pigment. It looks stunning!!!

I'm a brunette with green-brown eyes, and I think the color is very nice and versatile. It can be built up to be very intensive, or dabbed off to just give a slight pink nuance.
A warning though: It shouldn't just be applied straight on the lips, it comes on very heavy and thick. The result is much better if you use a lip pencil or dab it on either with your finger or just with the stick. It needs to be worked into the lips a little, so, the shade is gorgeous, but the consistency could use a little work. But once it's worked into the lips, it has good staying power.

Vegas Volt is like a creamy pink with orange undertones. I love it! I found it at the Aurora, Illinois CCO the other day and had to have it. It feels good on my lips and is quite pigmented.

This is going to be so hot later in the summer when I actually get uber bronzed...I bought it today and I am still pretty pasty. So I put on a lot of bronzer to see how it would look and I love it. I never thought I could do the orange-ish types, but it works. I honestly think it's a true coral though. I will say I'm not going to wear it until I have a tan...I think the tan is a must and then it looks amazing. I put a tiny bit of clear gloss or lip balm on UNDER it, and it helps to mute it a bit. There have been some reviews that I have read that say it's too opaque, and the gloss under trick worked pretty well for me. I don't do lip brushes so that was my trick to disperse the color a little better. It is a gorgeous color and the only thing I am sad about is that I can't wear it year round!

This is really pretty, although it needs to be applied lightly and/or with a lip brush. Straight from the tube, it seems to sit on top of the lips and look thick and cakey and overdone -- it doesn't "melt in" like some of the other Amplified Cremes. I have very warm colouring, tend to "pink up" lipsticks, and and this still looks pretty orange on me, so if you don't like orange lipstick this is not for you. It's not bright, bright orange, though; it's got a sort of milky look. I can't wait to wear this in the hottest part of the summer.

MAC Vegas Volt on unlined lips. If the image above isn't working, it's mirrored at http://mac.larahill.com/swatch/displayimage.php?pos=-476
Vegas Volt is permanent lipstick in the MAC line, an apricot-tinted coral without shimmer or glitter in an Amplified Cream finish. The swatch on the MAC site is misleading, there's no way Vegas Volt has such a strong pink undertone. The finish is a true cream with enough moisture to be glossy but just enough firmness to apply smoothly. When applied with a lip brush the application is creamy, smooth and intense, but applied straight from the tube it can be a little too thick and paste-like. If you apply it too thickly it can look mega dated - whoever said Faye Dunaway in Mommie Dearest was totally on the ball. Applied smoothly or even patted on and blended off sheerly, it's a rather saucy colour that's glamorous and reminiscent of cocktails and caftans at St Barths, not tacky like a washed-up middle-aged Vegas showgirl who can't quite let the kickline go.
Vegas Volt is bright, but it's not an unreal, electro bright colour. Swatched next to Morange or Neon Orange (pro), it actually looks pretty wimpy and washed out. If you want to start experimenting with oranges and corals, Vegas Volt is one you can use as orange/coral with training wheels - try dabbing a bit of it into your pout and blushing it out sheerly, or blend just a touch of it into the middle of a more neutral/beige lipstick. When you're ready to hit the big league, pop on some Vegas Volt, top it with Lychee Luxe lipglass and prepare to turn some heads!
Would I buy it again? You betcha!

i agree with the poster below! this is beautiful in the tube... but lacking a little on my lips. if i apply it lightly and rub it in with my finger it looks nice. not spectacular, just nice. if i apply it straight from the tube like i normally do when i wear lipsticks, the result is hideous. way too opaque and dry and loud. won't repurchase, but i will continue to wear this occasionly (lightly applied). nw15.

This color is so beautiful in the tube. I thought that with my blond hair I might be able to pull this off. I bought this with the coral craze lipglass liner. All I can say is that I looked exactly like Faye Dunaway in Mommie Dearest. It was awful. It looked like I had taken the brightest orange/peach I could find and slathered it across my lips. My husband could not stop laughing at how horrible it was.
It reminds me of when I was little and my big, German Grandma would get ready to go out line dancing in Columbus, TX. She would put on her best moomoo, Have her hair re-permed for extra tight curls that night and then wrap her hair in a plastic rain-proof scarf and get into her baby blue maverick for her night out on the town. She would wear the free jewelery that came with her Avon purchases and she always, always "put her lips on" with one of her little Avon testers. And invariably, that tester would be orange. That is what I looked like when I wore this.

When I picked up my daughter today she had on the most beautiful lip color which turned out to be VV. All day I kept looking at this color on her and wondered if I could pull it off. I headed to MAC, got a tube and WOWZA it works! We are both blond and fair and this may look great with a tan but on fair skin it is angelic. It wears like iron AND if you have a tube of Lychee Luxe in your arsonal, use it over top, it's even more swish. Blondes and coral are such a perfect mix!!
PS> This is NOT LE, MAC has it year round.

NOT a lipstick i would have looked at in a million years if it hadnt been for the great SA in Harrods. For ref: my hair is med brown and ive just had loads of blonde highlightes, esp through the front so it looks a caramel-y/blonde/light brown and im also quite tanned and i was finding many of my usual light pinks and other light shades were making me look too washed out/barbie like. I sat down with the SA and explained all this too him and he suggested hug me, viva glam v and vegas volt. Now the 1st two fine, but the third is BRIGHT BRIGHT MEDUIM CORAL!WOW! so bright and pigmented. But i dont apply it full on. I just blot it lightly on my lips and use a light layer of gloss (LM pink grapefruit is amazing over the top- a very gorgeous gloss shade of this but prettier!) or i just leave it 'dabbed' on for a great stain. either way with this on and a bit of mascara im set to go for a minimal natural mu day!

Vegas Volt is not for the faint hearted! It's a creamy, vivid coral. It's a bright pink-orange color, this coral leans more toward orange than red. This lipstick looks great on some people but terrible/garish on others, I think it all depends on how you do the rest of your makeup, too much can be too overpowering. I like this color, it's electrifying and stands out. As with all the amplified cremes, moisturizing formula w/lots of pigment. If you like bright, vivid colors, Vegas Volt is definitely a good one to add to your collection.

I just bought this color today and I really like it! I would have never thought I would buy a "Rachel Welch" product (albeit from MAC) but I must say I am pleasantly surprised as it is a great shade. The texture is very creamy and there is no shimmer. Vegas Volt is a bright coral that is more on the orange/warm side and not does have as much pink as some lipsticks in this color family can have. It pairs well with Chanel's lipliner in Tawny and would look nice with MAC's cremeliner in Creamkiss (for a lush, bright look) and MAC's liner in Whirl (for a more, toned down softer look).

Normally i don't really like MAC's lipsticks because they are drying on my lips and emphasize my lines and flakes on my lips. However, i didn't have such problem with vegas volt. In fact, it seemed to make my lips more smooth when i had it on. Vegas volt is an amplified cream (meaning that it's more creamy and moisturisng than the other texture) and this could explain why it felt better than the other textures of MAC's lippies i'ved tried.
I also love the color of this lippie....a orangey pink. Looks great when paired with springbean lustreglass over it. This is LE from the Icon 4 collection.

Vegas Volt is from the Raquel Welch collection and I love it. The packaging is very cool, with the leopard print inner tube. This is definitely a BRIGHT coral, but it's really a gorgeous color. I'm a MMM and Vegas Volt looks good on me now. With a summer tan, I think it will be stunning. I will repurchase this shade.

Yikes. Way too bright of a milkened coral for my tastes, against my NC25 Filipino skin... but on others, it looks beautiful.
