Since I thought the Revlon Lip Butters were too pigmented and garish on me (screamed I'm over 40 and trying to pretend I'm half that)....so I picked up one of these L'Oreal Balms in "Pink Elixir". Once applied, it's an ever so slight gloss of healthy pink color on my naturally pale lips. Both shades I'm speaking of are a similar glowy carnation pink.... only one is too loud and the other too soft. That kind of "beachy" pink that looks wonderful in the summer months. Then I figured why not combine the Revlon "Sweet Tart" lip butter lightly by dabbing it on with my finger with the "Rose Elixir" gloss to top it off.... the results were just what I was looking for... the prettiest pop of a healthy pink. And yes these "balms" do have a weak Coppertone scent which is odd but not offensive to me. This product is also very similar to Clinique's "almost lipstick" for more color choices without the scent/taste.

While I really like the colour of the Nourishing Nude I got of this product (clean nude lip with slight pink tone) and I wanted to love it, it just does not work as a balm at all on me. When I apply it it feels nice and light but it is gone in an hour and my lips feel more dry than when I put it on to start with. Just like any other lipstick (for me). I do have quite dry lips and had such hopes for this! Oh well, off to search for revlon Lip butters !!!

I got this in Pink Satin. I'm not a fan of a very heavy color on lips, I like a lot of moisture and a sheer wash of color, or no color at all. This fits the bill perfectly! It is very moisturizing, with good ingredients, and looks beautiful on, shiny and pretty without a made-up look. I went back today and got Nourishing Nude and Caramel Comfort, as well.

These are AWESOME! I have bought 3, and used up 2 already. They are rich and moisturizing, without that awful silicone or sticky jelly feel. Just a very moisturizing, soft, lip balm with color. Yes these are sheer, without tons of color, but that's why it is advertised as BALM ;-) It isn't advertised as a lip stain or a lip stick. BALM. Lip balm typically has no to very little color. I wanted something I could apply liberally for shine and moisture and only a little color. I do not like the chapstick type sticks, and I wanted to get away from the insect derived red coloring that Burts Bees uses. The two really dark colors ARE very pigmented so you can wear them as a lipstick if you want. I will definitely repurchase these!!! This is my favorite lip product I have bought in a LONG time, and I have hundreds of different lipsticks, glosses, and balms.

A youtube "guru"(hollyannaeree) I follow mention these in one of her videos, and she did say more cons then pro's for this product. We don't have these here in Australia yet, so when I was purchasing my Revlon Lip Butters of eBay, the fantastic seller I brought from had these in their online store as well, so off course I needed to get some(slapping myself across the face right now!).
With a background thought that these might be a let down from watching Holly's video, I brought the 2 colours that she mention that might work for people with pigmented lips, those colours were Caramel Comfort and Tender Mauve.
Absolutely love these! In terms of quality I actually love them more then the Revlon Lip Butters, in terms of colours, great selection, but in all honesty I wouldn't go nuts on these like how I would with the Revlon ones.
These are extremely sheer, I believe the lighter colours might be pointless for me with pigmented lips, and I wont be getting any of the light colours in this range. Unlike the Revlon one, those were all pigmented and it was worth while getting. Despite saying they are extremely sheer when applied, there will be subtle hint of colour, dont expect pigmentation like Revlon.
A lot of people say these are oily, not moisturising etc. I actually found that last quiet well, and much more mosturizing then the Revlon ones. The Revlon ones come across more like a lipstick, where as these comes across more like a lip gloss(Well actually I think it is marketed as a moisturizing lip gloss).
These have more sheen then the Revlon ones and I probably would be looking at getting maybe all of the darker colours.
I love tender Mauve, I've been wearing it soo much as off lately, the thing I love about Tender Mauve is the more you apply the more milky it actually looks.
Caramel Comfort is also a fantastic colour that I love as well, it does nude out your lips a little, for people with pigmented lip like me, this colour actually tones down your lips a little, but not completely, so it doesn't look like your washed out or dead.

I got this in Pink Satin and at first I was like, what's the big deal? It's clear and shiny. So what. After a couple of uses I noticed that there IS color to it. It make my lips a noticeable yet natural looking light pink with a good shine. It also made my lips super soft. Considering I have a couple coarse scars on my lips from competition fighting, that's saying something. I love this stuff and will continue to buy/use it. Maybe I'll get out of my rut & try a different color (:

Very moisturizing and sheer. Gives a nice sheen To my lips. Color comes out to a soft nude pink, which is perfect for any makeup look. Not as pigmented as the revlon lip butters but I def would repurchase this product if I run out.

If you compare this to Revlon's lip butter, it won't be as pigmented. What I like about this balm is that it has a spf of 15, moisturizing, and doesn't smell too bad. I actually like the smell which reminds me of the coated of easter eggs. I can see why some reviewers would not like this product however. It's 8.99 cdn, which is pretty pricey for what you get. It is after all just a balm with almost no color pay off. You might as well purchase something inexpensive that does the same job. I still find myself reaching for this over my lip butters though. It just brings me happiness when I use this for some odd reason. I purchased this in caring coral. I took and uploaded the picture of it above. I am excited to try some other colors as well! :)

III have this in coral. I was very dissapointed with no high shine or color shows, just a clear balm. I was expecting a coral color at least sybtle, but no, and highly pricey for that too, and those are the cons. The pros are it is moisturizing and long lasting. I like the slanted cap and colour. It is Colour Riche (I mean full of rich color)

Wow...this works amazing while I'm wearing it. It's super moisturizing, but the effects don't last long. Otherwise, it's a nice sheer formula, and if I had known it was so sheer, I would have bought more colors. But yes, this is my new go-to in the morning when I'm rushing out for school.

I bought this in Tender Mauve, a cool shade that shows up decently on my somewhat pigmented lips. I like the look and feel of the product, and the packaging is better than the Revlon Lip Butters, which are difficult to open. However, I found it tasted overwhelmingly of the sunscreen ingredients, as if I had slathered Coppertone on my lips -- blech! I don't know if I just got a bad tube, since most reviewers don't seem bothered by the taste, but it's been enough to put me off buying more of these. Too bad, because I like everything else about them.

I was finally able to get my hands on a couple of these... They've been sold out almost everywhere since their release. I scored "Nourishing Nude" and "Caramel Comfort". I probably would not have purchased two so similar shades, but these were the only ones left! First off...I totally love the packaging on these. It is so classy. The caps are shaded to look like the color of the balm...and are transparent, again, just like the balms! The base is gold...which seems to be the standard L'Oreal packaging color. The scent is odd...but not necessarily bad. I can't exactly place it - think sort of caramel, sort of vanilla, sort of...plastic, or sunscreen-ish? Like I said...I can't exactly figure it out. The colors are SHEER. Very. The "Nude" color I bought doesn't show up on me at all... It only gives a slight sheen. Honestly, I can't decide if I am relieved or disappointed by the sheerness. The "Caramel" shade has slightly more color, but it is still extremely sheer. I like a subtle lip, so I don't mind... The formula is really nice. It applies smoothly and feels great on. I haven't noticed much moisture payoff. I think there are a lot of cheaper balms that moisturize better. I will probably try another color, but doubt I would rebuy these specific shades.

I love these! Glossy, hydrating, beautiful sheer color. I have the Pink Satin and Nourishing Nude and both give gorgeous color and lots of shine. For a balm these also last a surprisingly decent amount of time before needing reapplication. I will definitely repurchase, These are also much nicer than Revlon's similar product.

Pretty light moisturizing colors. Bought a nude brown and light pink - nice staying power. I'm not a "lipstick" person and usually go for lip gloss. If this is you - you will love these. Lip gloss that is convenient like a stick.

There is something in this product and also Revlon's Lip Butter that irritates my lips, drys them out and makes them blister. :-(

I only have this in one shade: Rose Elixir. When I first put it on, it was so sheer and I hated it (this was after trying Revlon's Lip Butters which are quite pigmented). Regardless, I still found myself reaching for it nearly everyday. It may be sheer, but it gives my lips a nice glossy finish without making me look like I'm drooling (I'm not a fan of the standard lipgloss look). I like wearing it on top of other lipsticks (it's especially nice with mattes to make them less drying). So in the end, I am glad I bought it but I wouldn't repurchase if I lost it. However I don't think it's worth the price for such a subtle effect.

I have to say i still really like the revlon lip butters better only because of the color payoff and the feel of the product... I know a balm compared to a lip butter is def going to be lighter so if you like more sheer feeling product on your lips the loreal balms are the way to go. I purchased the balm in pink satin at walmart and was just really attracted to the packaging and color... When i got home the color was nothing like the packaging or balm itself just super sheer pink... Also it was odorless which for me is unenjoyable. I wish it was more pink too like how it looks in the tube... Revlon butters are def more vibrant but thats the difference between a balm and a lip butter lol!

This product stood out to me while I was at Walmart, yet I was still unsure if I wanted to buy it. I didn't want too much of a balm and not enough color. I decided to buy it anyways because I wanted a nude lipstick so I got it in Nourishing Nude. When I tried it on, I was pretty upset because I didn't notice a difference. I put on more of the product in the bathroom so I could have better lighting and I ended up LOVING this product. Nourishing Nude gives you a your-lips-but-better look. They made my lips look really healthy and the slight change in color looked really nice. I would definitely recommend this product!

This is what I wanted Revlon Lip Butters to be. I bought this in Rose Elixir which is a gorgeous pink blush shade. Not really shimmery, but luminous. The color is quite sheer which I prefer. Unlike the Lip Butters this is very moisturizing for me. It makes my lips look smooth and glossy. Staying power is average, I wish it lasted longer but that is true of most lip products I have tried. Even after the feel of this wears off my lips still have a pretty, pink flush. The packaging is sleek and luxe. It has a sugary taste/smell that is nice and light, not at all offensive or overpowering. I think L'oreal hit a home run with these. I would certainly repurchase and am looking forward to trying more shades.
