This is an amazing product from Lush! It is one of the most effective exfoliators I have ever used, the sea salt is perfect. A small amount goes along way, just exfoliate in small circles over skin, wash with warm water and you instantly have fresh, glowing, smooth skin! I love it! I love the exotic ingrediants in it, for example vodka, grapefruit and coconut, it also smells gorgeous too - kind of a refreshing, cocktail scent. You can also use this as a body scrub too, it's very effective when used as that also. It also works well on pimples, the salt really minimises them and generally cleanses your skin. This is my favourite product from Lush ever.

i really like this scrub for my face and body! when you first buy it there is a layer of sea salt on top that is supposed to help keep it fresh so before you use it you mix it all up. i like this scrub a lot more when it starts to thicken up over time because its less abrasive. the smell is awesome and it tastes good too! i got the medium sized tub and it lasted me a year. i definitely think lush's price tags are scary at first but everything lasts forever if you use it correctly unless it expires quickly (face masks)

I used this about a year and a half ago but looking through products, it popped up and I thought I should maybe pass on my experience to anyone looking to purcahse it.

I often get small blocked pores and acne prone skin so I need a good scrub to make sure that im not blocking my pores, so when I came across this products I thought I would give it a try. Really didn't like it, it was horribly abbrasive and felt like it was scratching my skin. A few days after using it I broke out in horrible, red under the skin, spots that actually took me a couple of months to get under control, now I'm not saying that this was soley due to this products as I had changed my cleanser and toner as well, but I really don't think it helped at all.

It contains quite harsh ingrdients like vodka and the salt, it was almost like picking up a handful of rock salt and rubbing it on your face and I found that it was stingy on my skin ( is that a word? lol). Anyway I know some poeple have found it good, so I would say if your interested maybe just go gently and see how you get on. Personally I have swtiched back to origins and st ives scrubs, the still feel like that are giving your skin a good exfoliation without tearing it to shreds. Im not trying to slate the product or deny that it works for some people, but just thought I should share my experience with it x

LUSH's Ocean Salt comes in this black tub container, but I don't mind. It smells light and refreshing and it looks like raw sugar mixed with blue lotion. I didn't like this scrub. I felt like it was too abrasive/harsh and left my skin feeling kind of raw and dry. Maybe this would be better for very, very oily people with less sensitive skin. Personally, I'd rather save the $35 dollars and use a homemade olive oil and sugar scrub. More moisturizing, just as effective exfoliator, and cheaper alternative.

I love LUSH products, so I wasn't surprised that this stuff works wonderfully. My skin is really strange. Oily, dry, and flaky all at once. I think it has more to do with the chemical content of other products I've been using more than any other element. Since switching to more natural products I've had great success.

The bigger granules are kind of strange and uncomfortable, but if you get any they either easily fall off or you can see them to pick them out. I think the biggest plus for this stuff is that, unlike other scrubs, you only need a little bit of it to get enough scrub from it. I think it smells beautifully fresh, and is super easy to wash off. That is ALWAYS my biggest issue with face scrubs, so usually I only use them in the shower. As with all LUSH products this washes off easily and leaves no slimy residue behind. The salt disintegrates, unlike beads from other products that always get left behind and stuck in my hair, cloth, and sink.

My skin feels fantastic and refreshed after using this. I will be buying this product again but I'm unsure if I'm going to try Angels on Bare Skin first, or just keep using this. That all depends on how long the rest of the pot lasts.

Surprisingly, I actually like this product. I have had a very bad history with Lush's skin care products - they usually leave my skin irritated or I seem to have a negative reaction and my skin gets some nasty pimples. This is the only product that seems to help clear my skin and leave it soft/ glowing.

Since I have started using the OCM with a 1/3 Castor Oil 2/3 EVOO mix, my skin has cleared up dramatically and gone from ridiculously oily to normal/ slightly oily skin. I felt like I needed a good scrub to use once or twice a week to give my skin some real exfoliation, and I liked the idea that this was full of moisturising ingredients as well as cleansing ones like the sea salt. I feel like if I give my skin a fair amount of moisture at night and wash with water in the morning, it is a lot better. This stuff fits the bill, it doesn't leave my skin oily like some scrubs (St Ives being the main one), leaves my skin soft and really gives it a deep down clean.

My only concern with this is the larger salt chunks - these really irritate my skin and actually hurt when I wash my face if they are caught up in the circular motions I do when use a facial scrub. Luckily they are so big they usually fall off my face, and there aren't too many/ they are easy to avoid using.

Overall, a surprisingly good product from Lush.

I tried both of the versions. I know there's people who prefers the NA version because of the consistency. I tried the English version and the NA version. I just love both of them. I am sorry
i can't help it, I love all Lush. They are different in consistency, and they work just great on my skin. I will recommend it to everyone and also I will re buy it. ( I prefer the English version bc of the price.)

I have combination skin, with dry creeks and an oily T-zone. Ocean Salt works well for me, afterwards my skin feels so smooth that I can't stop touching it, and I definitely can tell that it is removing the dry, dead skin cells on my face. It does the job, but I wouldn't repurchase only because it is not a miracle worker for me. I do like the smell though.

Oily skin unfortunately leaves me with tiny, annoying bumps that are simply built-up grossness, and I've never found a good exfoliator that didn't break me out or tear up my skin. I thought Ocean Salt would be quite harsh, but I decided to give it a try because even if it didn't work for my face, it can be used as a body scrub (and it really does make for a great part of a pedicure ;D).

Pleasantly surprised with how well my skin handled it. If you try to rub it on without any water, it's a bit harsh, but a few drops of water with the Ocean Salt in your palm smoothes it out considerably. It's really great for dry patches (strangely enough, I get them in the summer sometimes), and it helps get rid of those annoying little oil bumps. The smell is intoxicating, to say the least, and while the price is a bit daunting, I need so little of the product each time I use it (which is only twice a week) that it will last quite a while, so I feel it's worth it. Just be sure to moisturize afterward!

I've already bought another jar even though I'm not even halfway through my first one. :)

I really like the sea salt and lime smell of Ocean Salt. However, it doesn't seem to be working for me as a scrub. I find there isn't enough fine sea salt in it to actually exfoliate my skin. I am just getting a random scrub particle here and there (I did mix up the product in the pot). Also, I find the coarse sea salt in this to be too harsh and abrasive. Most of them fall into the sink anyway while I am rubbing the product on my skin, because they are such large particles. The few that end up being dragged across my skin hurt because of the jagged edges, and leave red scratch marks. I just don't see the point of having the coarse sea salt at all. Right now I am just trying to use up the product and using it as a cream cleanser. I ordered mine from the U.K., and I heard from one YouTube reviewer that the one in North America has a slightly different formulation (it contains both fine and coarse sea salt in larger amounts than grapefruit infusion - and thus is more exfoliating). Therefore, I might try the N.A. one later on (though the coarse sea salt existing in the N.A. one too is a bit of a turn off), but I would def. not repurchase the U.K. one.

The product has a creamy texture, but is too harsh for my skin. I tend to use round exfoliator beads, not ones with jagged edges. I used the remaining of the sample on my body. The vodka in the product does sting my skin a little when I leave it on for too long. Make sure you thoroughly stir the product before using it. For it's price and quality, I will not consider buying this product. It may work for someone with less sensitive skin though :) I may use this as a body scrub.

I have use this scrub 3 times and Im already in love with it!!!

Here are the reasons why I love it:

1. it smells so freaking good
2. it deepcleans my skin and leave it soft
3. it leaves my skin matt ( I have combination skin)

the reasons why I didnt give it 5 lippsticks was because its a little bit to harsh and the product stings on my sensitive/combination skin :(

the product is a little bit to price but it still worth it...

I went to the LUSH store today finally1 I don't have one nearby and have to drive almost an hour to get there but I'm glad I did, I tried this out on my hands in the store and it felt amazing so I took it home. And oh my! I used it on my face and I have never had my skin feel so smooth and refreshed!

This is a pricey product but I'm totally willing to pay the $35 (or whatever) for the larger size. It should last a long time since you don't need to use a lot of product each time.

One thing I will mention is that since it is called Ocean Salt the salt can get in your mouth while you're washing your face off but just rinse your mouth out and you're good.

I have been looking for a great scrub for a long time. I have always felt that my St Ives Apricot scrub just doesnt do the job well enough and that i needed something a bit harsher... enter Ocean Salt.

The girl did a demo on my hand in the store... and OH MY.. it was fantastic!!! I bought the smaller tub for 18.99 CAN. I found this to be a bit expensive, but if it could rival my 30$ scrub from sephora then i would be a happy camper.

It smells like a lime margarita... and if you get some in your mouth its like vodka/salty flavor. I like it :D Very clean and refreshing.

I thought it may dry out my skin but i was wrong. I went home, washed my face with my cleanser, scrubbed for 3 or so mins with Ocean Salt, moisturized, and my skin feels FANTASTIC!!!!

I can see how this may be too harsh for sensitive skin like previous reviewers have mentioned. My skin was a bit red after use, it stung where i had a blemish, but the scrub does say it has an antiseptic effect so i am assuming that. Plus, I did scrub pretty hard because i wanted a good deep clean.

LOVE LOVE LOVVVEEEEEEE

I think Ocean Salt is great! I don't have sensitive skin, and when I rub the product onto my face/body I don't find it harsh at all (but I guess my skin can handle it). My friend has really sensitive skin and she found it to be harsh, so I guess it all depends on your skin. The smell is what really got me to buy this, it's so fresh and "clean" smelling. I'm starting to use this everyday!

i agree with skysthelimit. it does make your skin feel clean but i think it is better as a body scrub. also, the myth of a product being 'natural' does not always mean it is better for your skin. a natural scrub can be harsher on your skin than a sythentically made one. this is the same with apricot kernals in the aprie scrub. the natural kernals are not all the same shape and this can mean they can break the skin due to the courseness whereas the synthetic scrubs have sperical grains which are all the same size and shape. having said that, it does feel refreshing to use the lush scrub at the time!

I am a big fan of Lush products, even though they cost me an arm and a leg. I use Ocean Salt on my face and body. I even use it on my lips sometimes! I love the refreshing smell, and how clean it leaves you feeling. It's a good light exfoliator to use every other day or 3 times a week, imo. You have to make sure to mix it periodically because the sea salt sinks to the bottom and that's the good stuff. I recommend cleansing your face, then exfoliating it with ocean salt, and then moisturizing. This has a toner in it. So don't put too many chemicals on your face afterwards. Overall, I haven't found anything comparable to it in quality yet.

It's expensive for what it is, but it does have a nice smell and a little goes a long way. I don't actually use it on my face- I use it on my hands as part of the "Lemony Fluttery" manicure and it works miracles on hands and feet. So I'll keep buying it even if the price does make me wince.

I think this product is great - but only if you use it right. It is a little harsh on some skin types. I only use this once (maybe twice) a week on my face along with a creamier cleanser in order to saturate the grains and not be as harsh. I also sometimes put a little in my hand, dilute the grains a little, then softly rub it on my face. Upon Michele1218's recommendation, I use this with my clarisonic, which is amazing! My skin looks really healthy since I began using this (along w/ other products).

I would repurchase this but the smaller tub since it takes me forever to use up. Love!
