I was very excited to buy this foundation it definitely fit my skin perfectly yet it left my skin very oily and greasy afterwards even after some powder. Later on during the day my skin felt a bit greasy I do like the fact it matches my skin PERFECT. It is a bit of a hassle to pour it on the back of my hand and pour too much and making a mess though.

I really like this foundation, but the problem with it being very high coverage is that it does NOT look natural, which is the only problem for me. Staying power and coverage is amazing, would deffinately buy again :)

*** Read this review if you have sensitive skin ***

I am on an eternal quest for the perfect foundation (the closest thing I have found to HG so far is ELDW, but I do feel that it sometimes tends to break me out, and it is also quite expensive), and my latest acquisition was Revlon ColorStay. I really wanted to love this foundation because of all the rave it has been getting, but OMG, this turned out to be the worst foundation I have ever tried.

My first impression of the packaging was good, I liked the sturdy glass bottle, but the wide opening turned out to be problematic as the foundation is super runny and you end up pouring out way too much. Also, the cap has a black film on the inside, and on my bottle this was chipping off, leaving black specks in the foundation that I had to pick out. Yuck!

The first thing I noticed when I applied this foundation was the heavy perfumed smell. This worried me as I have sensitive skin, which means I always have to find mildly fragranced soaps and choose detergents without perfume, etc. However, I have never had a problem with any foundation actually irritating my skin - I guess most companies realise that they have to be careful with what they put in something that will stay on your skin for most of the day. So, I was hoping the gross perfume smell would wear off.

I expected medium coverage with this foundation, but found it quite sheer when applied. At the same time it felt very heavy on my skin. I needed two layers to get medium coverage, and by that time the foundation literally felt like clay on my skin, and was so sticky to the touch. It took forever to dry enough for me to continue with my makeup routine.

As I went about my day I could still feel the foundation as a heavy layer on my skin, and more than a few times I got a wiff of that headache-inducing perfume smell. My skin felt more and more tight, irritated and itchy, and I ended up removing the foundation long before bed time. My skin was left really red and irritated, especially around the eyes. Definitely make sure to try before you buy with this one if you have sensitive skin!

The only pro's I found about this makeup was the price and staying power, but needless to say - I won't be repurchasing. Usually, if a foundation doesn't really work for me I will still keep it and see if I can make it work by applying it differently, mixing it with another foundation or something like that, but this one I threw right out.

I bought this foundation for formal and found i had to spend ages applying it to get it to look good but since then i've started using it with my beauty blender i love it! It covers imperfections, looks natural and makes my complexion look flawless. The packaging is awful, comes in a bottle that takes ages to get the actual foundation out of. The price isnt cheap but is average

I give this a 4, but it is more like a 3.8

I go to this foundation for more formal occasions, mainly because it has a full coverage finish which I don't really like for everyday use.

Sometimes, if i'm feeling like looking a bit more made up for work, I will wear this, mainly because it does have fantastic lasting power. But I find that it drys quickly so it's a little more high maintenance in the morning to apply. I start work at my office at 7.30, so I prefer something which I can slap on, rub in, and go :)

It's a bit pricey where I live for what it's worth ($40 USD) - but I will definitely be restocking when I hit the states in June :D

Other than that, it's still my go - to full coverage long lasting foundation, but saying that, it's not my "HG" foundation

However, It's definitley greater than Mac's Studio Fix Fluid in my opinion. It smells slightly better, lasts longer and the color range for pale - skinned women is more complimentary.

I bought this after reading all the reviews and thinking yeah, the combination oily skin type would probably suit me, but I'm really disappointed ! At first I was applying with a brush, which left me with streaks no matter how well I buffed and blended!! Then after talking to a friend I tried using my fingers and that worked so so so much better. I don't hate colour stay anymore, but I doubt ill repurchase! It looks really nice when you first put it on and it stays on but goes oily and some patches do fade, so I feel don't really feel like its worth $30! I also feel like I have to build it up a lot because its sort of transparent

My favorite foundation hands down. It's my HG. Covers up acne scars without looking cakey. I use the formula for combination skin and it's very nice. It never makes me break out and doesn't make my dry patches look flakey. The only problems I have with it are 1) The packaging really just sucks. It could use a pump. And 2) They do not have a fair shade with a more neutral or warm undertone. It's a bit too pink for me. Overall a great foundation.

I went to try this out recently as I am on a budget at the moment & was after a decent slightly cheaper foundation then my current (Mac studio scuplt). So after hearing all the hype online I thought this would hopefully do the job, but I was wrong. I was really bummed it didnt work for me tbh after all the good reviews. I swatched quite a few shades before choosing my "colour" but I simply could not find a match or anything near. All of the shades appeared pinky grey when I applied them, I even tried a few different places but nope. It just kind of sat on my skin, it just didnt work. I was also surprised at the price,im in Aust & it was priced at $39.99! So for an extra $10 I could just stick to my studio sculpt...
As said I have seen many people wearing this foundation & it looks great,it just didnt work for me.

I found that this liquid makeup didn't work well on my skin. One of the things I noticed was that it contained certain allergens that don't help my acne-prone skin.

I have dry skin but however they did not have the normal-dry skin formula in store so I bought the combination-oily skin and surprisingly it does not accentuation my dry patches at all unless it is extremely dry where it will cling a bit. The coverage is full and is buildable. A little goes a long way! The reason why I rate it a 4 is because the packaging is horrible and wastes so much product and it costs $50NZD! Overall great product I would definitely repurchase

I think this is one of the best long-wear drugstore foundations, its matte, long lasting and medium/full coverage depending on how you apply it.
The reason I didnt give it an overall rating of 5 is because I couldnt find a shade that matched my skin perfectly. We dont get a wide colour range here in the UK so I had to make do with mixing two different shades (sand beige and early tan). I'd have preferred if it was more yellow toned, as I found it a bit beige for my skin but it wasnt too bad an issue.
I really love this foundation, I love the matte finish, and some people complain about the smell but I have to say I quite like it.
I have combination skin and I must say it last rather well, but you do have to powder your face on warm days. That is a cross us combination/oily skinned people must bear...
As for the packaging, I would have loved it if it came with a pump, but I dont mind the open top too much.
Overall I love this foundation, if you like a nice full coverage foundation that lasts pretty well, you cant go wrong with this one :-)

This foundation is ok. It covers well, doesn't seem to oxidize but it does transfer to phone etc. My problem is it left me with a matte complexion, not in a good way though, very dull, lifeless looking skin. I'm Nc2 in Mac and Sand Beige seemed to match but it was just off looking. It was also not as easy to wash it off as my Bourjouis Healthy Mix Serum. It was considerably pricier than I expected. Not to mention it does not have a pump. I'll stick to the Bourjoius H. M. Serum.

Tried to give this foundation another chance. I have found that applying it with a wet sponge sheers it out and it doesn't look like and feel like much of a mask as it used to when I applied it with brushes/my fingers. However, this foundation continues to break me out. I now have a total of 20 stubborn pimples on my left cheek and I never break out like that. I absolutely hate this foundation.

I really wanted to love this!

Bloggers love it, reviews are awesome, when I see it on tutorials it looks great, it's inexpensive, etc...

But it's just not working for me. My skin is slightly dry - you'd never notice any dry patch when I have no makeup on, so naturally I got the dry skin formula.

I bought the Shade Buff originally on a whim, but it was far too pale for me. So a week later I bought Sand Beige so I've been mixing them, and to be fair, the combination matches my skin tone quite well.

I've been applying this with a brush but I wasn't overwhelmed, so this morning I decided to apply with my fingers and go for more heavy coverage.

It looked great when I originally applied it, but it's 3 hours later, a lot of it has faded, dry patches are showing, redness from my cheeks is showing up (looking worse than it would look if I went au natural).

Just no. Doesn't do what it says on the tin. I guess I'll have to keep searching for the perfect liquid foundation.

This is my favourite foundation of all time. I feel like I have tried every foundation in Sephora (Lancome, Clarins, MUFE, Stila, Becca, ESL, Korres, Kat Von D, Laura Mercier ... you name it ... I’ve tried it. And I honestly keep going back to Revlon's Colourstay! This foundation is amazing esp for the price ($17 CAN). I'd honestly even pay the likes of Laura Mercier for this foundation. I have combination-dry skin right now (since it’s the winter and freezing here in Canada) but normally combination-oily during the summer months. I tend to have a new pimple or pimples daily UGH. My face also tends to get quite red yet I have a tad bit of a yellow under tone. Normally I am an NC15-NC20 and I wear Buff 150 in the Colourstay. This foundation I find doesn't accentuate my dry spots and continues to cover my blemishes and red skin. I do find it oxidizes just a tad ... test it and check again in ten minutes and that's the colour it will stay. Lately with some foundations, I’m finding they oxidize way too pink or orange (Lancome). Also the long wearing foundations (ESL) I find is so cakey and leaves a tight feeling on my face. I would compare this foundation to ESL but much easier to correct and doesn’t feel like I just painted my face. I found when using ESL if I had a streak and tried to fix it … I was screwed but this foundation you can actually correct things without having to redo your whole face again. I apply this after my moisturizer and use a foundation brush and go in circles and have no probs. Revlon does dry quickly and has excellent staying powder!

If you feel you have tried many foundation that keep oxidizing, (is it me or is every fair/light shade ivory which = PINK? Lol so frustrating) not long lasting, makeup separating, accentuating dry spots/blemishes … then give this a go … you may end up ditching those high end foundations for a drugstore brand … I did!!!

Revlon Colorstay liquid foundation is the best thing for my skin. I bought it after reading all the marvelleous reviews and hearing great recommendations from friends that have the same skin issues as I do. I use the one for combination/oily skin and it does for me everything I need a foundation to do. It mattifies my skin, covers the redness and the irregularities, it is non-comedogenic, and lasts a long time. To be honest, I wouldn't say it lasts for 24 hours (like it says on the bottle). In my experience, on the warmest and sweatiest day, it kept my face matte and flawless-looking for about 10 hours, which is quite enough for me. It has great coverage, it doesn't cake my face up and it really does make my complexion look flawless sometime (on a good day, because I do get acne, and when you have small bulges on your face, there's not much you can do to cover those). Also, when taking it off, be sure to take everything off - it really clings to your face even when you don't want it there anymore :) I recommend soaking your face in warm water to melt it a bit and then washing it off with whatever you use for your face. Another one of the perks is that the expiration date is two years after opening, so even if you don't use it as often, yu can still use it up before the date! As for the packaging, I don't find it a problem as most others do. I just tilt the bottle on the back of my hand and use it without any problems.
I do feel that it may be a bit heavy on the skin sometime, so if I need light coverage or if there is no need to have perfect makeup for more than a couple of hours, I use something that's lighter on my face.
In conclusion, I heartily recommend this product to everyone, and especially to those with oily and acne prone skin. This foundation is, in my opinion, a must-have for every make-up lover and "knower".

This is my holy grail foundation!! I adore it. It gives great coverage and by midday I'm not oily, and you can't see much of a shine. My only downside, there's no pump. So getting the product actually is a pain in the butt and can be quite messy if not handled correctly. The smell is tolerable. To me it smells just like paint. It's very build-able. My go ahead if your combo oily, it's a heavy foundation. I wouldn't recommend it if you want a light coverage.

I picked this up in Boots in the UK, for £12.50 and no pump this foundation is a load of crap since it seems all the yellow undertone shades are unavailable in the UK. Or is it just me ? I got matched to true beige when i should really be around a golden biege, the sales assistant at boots was adamant it was a perfect match and i should have dug my heels in but instead i caved and bought it..l and soon as i got home and tried it on in my window mirror, the ashiness just took me back to the days where I wore dream matte mousse at school - in a colour which made people ask me why my face looked grey. Yuck. Probably wouldnt try this again even IF i got given the proper match.
