I had finally nearly cleared up my acne, and was excited to try this out. It made me look FLAWLESS and I was SO HAPPY. However, after about a month of using this, my acne was a hundred times worse than it had ever been. THIS PRODUCT DOES NOT LOOK GOOD OVER ACNE. I don't know how Cassandra Bankson does it, since I followed her video EXACTLY, but now that my acne is all over my face again this product looks AWFUL on me. It looks VERY fake and gets blotchy and makes my face look super dried out when it's NOT. Instead of making my flaws disappear, it makes them more noticeable! I had to go a whole day walking around school looking like I was a 7th grade make up first timer. This product just isn't for me, and if you have severely oily skin and bad acne, don't use this. This if for people who already have smooth, acne-free skin.

I didn't find this that exceptional. It holds on well, particularly if you use a silicone-based primer, but for some reason it sits in my pores a bit and shows off drier skin. It also tends to make me a little oily during the day. The coverage is good though and, being quite pale, I deffinitely appreciate the choice of shades available.

I have yet to find my HG foundation and this one isn't HG for me either but it's the closest I've ever gotten to finding one. It is simply gorgeous on skin, it looks natural, covers pores well, and matches my skin beautifully. However I do find this foundation drying. I have combination skin and it's flaky around the nose and mouth area and this foundation accentuates the dryness. I tried putting moisturizer over my foundation in the hopes of getting rid of these flakes but it didn't work. Even tried evian setting mist but it only relieved the flakes temporarily. Does anyone else know how to deal with this?
And the packaging- it's gorgeous, very sleek and pump allows for good control, but the lid chipped when I dropped it one time. So sad I know.

I've had this foundation for a little over a month so I feel I'm qualified to write this review. I'm into the natural look, but I still need at least a medium coverage foundation to cover up my uneven skintone. This product is just OK. It's nothing special, but it works fine for my skin. I like that the foundation has a pump and I also like that there are a lot of color ranges to choose from. Overall, though, I think there are better foundations out there to choose from. I can't decide if I will 100% buy this product again, but we will see.

This foundation is fantastic!
It delivers medium-to-full coverage, which is enough to cover redness, most acne, and some marks. I have applied it with MAC 190, MAC 187, Sigma F80, and fingers, and the coverage remains the same for all methods.
It has a flawless natural satin finish that looks nice in person, but fantastic in photos. For that reason, this is my go-to foundation for special occasions/photos. I wouldn't imagine using any other foundation! It looks absolutely flawless and natural on camera--no white cast, no emphasized pores, no greasy look, no flat/one-dimentional look! Just perfection!
(Update: When finished with MAC Fix+ it looks so natural that it's utterly UNDETECTABLE!!!!! NO JOKE!!!!!)
One of the best aspects of this foundation is the vast shade selection. There are 26 shades available. I'm NC35 (slight golden undertones). After testing numerous shades at my house and in natural lighting, I have discovered:
My perfect summer match: Mixture of 1 part 127 and 2 parts 153
My perfect winter match: Mixture of 2 parts 127 and 1 part 153
123: Too light, too olive (NC30 with olive undertones)
127: Perfect but too light (NC30 with yellow undertones)
140: Very similar to 127 but a tiny bit peachier (NC30 with slight warm peach undertones)
153: Too dark and too olive (NC40 with slight olive undertones)
My only complaint about this foundation is the wear time. With the Smashbox Photo Finish Primer on my normal skin (I get a tiny bit oily), it lasts only 4-5 hours before it gets shiny, so you should definitely set it with some type of powder. Any powder works, really, but I think it looks and works best with the MUFE HD Microfinish Powder or NARS Light Reflecting Powder.
It's also not very compatible with oily skin, despite it being oil-free. If you have oily skin, you'll find that it's only going to make you look oilier within a few hours, so unless you're going to wear a mattifying primer and a long-wearing powder with it, I don't recommend it for oily skin.
Because of this, some may question its worth at $42 for a 1.01 oz. bottle, but I personally think it's well worth it.
Would I repurchase? Yes.

This foundation is really expensive for what it does, but it gets rave reviews for its coverage and how well it photographs, and it's oil-free, so I was excited to try this out. I first tried it in 117, which was a tad too light for my skin. 120 turned out to be a much better match.
However, perhaps it's because I have combo-oily skin or that I use a moisturizer prior to applying this foundation, but this wasn't full coverage for me. It was more like medium coverage instead; this evened out my skintone and covered my dark circles well, but my freckles still show through. Its staying power was pretty good, at 7 hours, but I did have to blot once about halfway through its wear time. Note that I wore this during the winter, when my skin is drier and liquid foundations have better staying power; I imagine that during the warmer months, its wear time might be shorter by 2 hours with oilier skin and I might end up blotting more often as well.
This is probably a great foundation for those with combo-dry to normal skin, and definitely more of a foundation for special occasions (photoshoots, weddings, public events, formals, to name a few) than for everyday wear. As for those with oilier skin, this might fall short of expectations as far as coverage and finish goes, and with a $42 price tag, I'll be on the hunt for fairer, more reasonable options.

This is my go to foundation. It covers well and works well in photos. The colour match is perfect for my skin. But i am on a quest in search for something super ultra fabulous. It is the best one i have come across ( I have tried MANY! Laura mercier, MAC....all different types ... Estée Lauder.. You name it!) I only gave it 4 lippies because the packaging is deceiving. Using it daily I would say the product will last 2 months...MAX! Also it leaves my skin looking shiny in a matter of hours....if you have oily skin make sure to carry blotting papers! Coverage is great thou... Doesn't look cakey like other full coverage foundations. So I'm in like... Not love....

I bought this because I friend recommended it and said it had excellent coverage (she told me she had it on oneday when I complimented her skin). This is a full coverage foundation so it is great if you are needing to cover a break out, far too heavy for everyday use. I actually used it on a night that i had to wear a strapless dress but had a few spots on my back, it made my back looks flawless and i just set it with mineral powder. I think it is too expensive and i don't like the pump bottle - when i opened the package so much was spilled from pressure causing the foundation to leak out the top, not good. I also wasn't able to get my exact shade since it was sold out and i am impatient so i got the next shade up - it actually blended well enough that I didn't have lines - which is good! I like having it, knowing that if i need some major coverage it is there.

This foundation is very good if you have the right skin for it. You should only wear it if you have dry to medium skin. It is a moisture-rich foundation. It has a very natural finish, but can get very dewy on the nose (especially if you have moisturizer underneath), so you should use a setting powder on top of your foundation, definitely on the nose. I pair it with MAC Skinfinish Natural in Dark or Deep, or you can use Makeup Forever HD Microfinish powder. The foundation looks amazing in pictures if you choose one that matches your skin tone. Skin looks perfect with it on and you can't tell I am wearing foundation. Again, the coverage of the foundation is light-medium, best worn on people that have clear skin, but if you have lots of scars then pair it with a good concealer to get the best results. I pair it with a cream based concealer from MAC. Then usually put the MAC Skinfinish Natural powder on top.
I've been wearing this product for two years. I am on my second bottle. I wear 177. It's a medium brown with somewhat of a red undertone. I previously tried 173 i believe, and it worked but had more of an olive undertone and if not blended properly it won't look right in pictures.
Overall it is a very good foundation, that looks very natural, and great in pictures. I'll probably buy it again.

The price of this foundation is very expensive and i was hoping that the foundation was "worth the buck" and all the hype it was getting. It really isn't though.. I have it on right now as I am typing and I feel it oily on my skin. I live in San Jose, California and the weather today is very nice and mid 70's. I definitely wasn't expecting that this foundation would make me look like I ran a mile. I used oil-free moisturizer and oil free primer. I usually use smashbox and that foundation doesn't make me as oily as this foundation makes me. I think I am going to keep looking for my HG foundation because obviously this is not the one..... Too bad

It's become my go-to foundation. Good coverage for my red aging skin & visible pores. Considering my dry skin it spreads and blend pretty well. I also love that it comes with a pump dispenser.

Too bad I don't like like this product...at all. After seeing all the videos and great review about it i couldn't wait to have it. I saw that it can hide imperfection perfectly and give flawless result BUT when i finally bought it, it was total garbage. :(
I put this on after my moisturizer and primer and set it with powder but the result is such a shame. The coverage is sheer to medium, some say its full coverage but i don't think so no matter how much you put it on your flaw it will still show through, you need to work it with concealer. I have oily acne-prone skin, but sometimes my skin get a bit dry. When i apply it on my face it looks nice but after 3 hours or so...oil mess! My T zone gets really really oily in short period of times really, my nose is the most oily part and the foundation goes off, it looks terrible. It doesn't even stay half the day! So i really don't recommend it for people with oily skin or people who tend to get oily in the T zone area. To make it worse it gave me break out. I think it's one of the ingredients in it. It sometimes look really greasy on me too. Ugggh. What a waste of money! It's quite pricey. Oh btw my color range is nc20 and somehow it looks a bit yellow-ish but its okay for me because i have yellow skintone.
If you're searching for foundation that will stay all day through activities, this one won't work.

I was initially delighted with this foundation but sadly this is not for me...it is SO oily! Granted, I have oily skin to begin with, but the amount of slip this foundation develops throughout the day is embarrassing. Not to mention it also seems to stain my skin—I have to really, REALLY scrub my face to get it off. While it is not for me, however, I think a dry-skinned gal would possibly be very happy with this. Going to swap my bottle!

For something rated to be so great, I was so sad that it wasnt that great.. It slipped all over the place, the coverage with one pump is light to Med, and just ok...
For this price i expected more,, went and bought the Mat and Velvet find my review there.
Will not ever buy this again..

This is the one and only foundation I've found that actually matches my super-pale skin and doesn't oxidize. I wish I could find a cheaper option, since this stuff is responsible for my astronomical spending at Sephora, but it's so good it's been my splurge for the last year or so. My skin is acne-prone and combination but this stays put on my face and doesn't break me out, nor does it adhere to blemishes and look flaky (which my expensive Lancome used to do). I do start with moisturizer and primer, so that might be why it stays put, but other reviews seem to suggest that doesn't work for everybody with this product. Coverage is great for evening out my skin; I kill my atomic dark circles with concealer but otherwise this foundation completely smooths out my tone. It also looks fantastic in pictures.
I docked it for the price and for the fact that I can't ever extricate every last drop from the bottle, but other than that...it's great.

I had been using Bare Minerals powder foundation for about 5 years when a friend used this foundation on me for a photo shoot. I have normal to dry skin with no acne. I was amazed at the finish and coverage this gives. IT IS AMAZING. However, make sure you get color matched, since MUFE has about 30 shades. I know enough about undertones and shades and such so I was able to color match myself but the girl buying the same foundation next to me had a color 3 shades too dark in her hand and the sales girl and I had to help. That being said, everyone has their own way of applying this too. I personally use the cheapie sponges from Target for the time being. I would like to get a beautyblender but can't fathom spending $26 on a SPONGE. However I have heard it works miracles. Stippling, flat foundation brushes, and fingers also work to give amazing coverage with this. It's not so thick that you have to work ultra fast, which I like. Having taken a 5 year hiatus from liquid makeup, I remember having to work at warp speed to keep it from streaking. Maybe it was the cheap makeup I was using in high school or just the anti acne stuff, I don't know. Either way, this is a good priced foundation that lasts a long time, has great coverage, looks awesome on camera, and lasts all day. Worth the $ and a good buy...

Apparently this is Sephora's best selling foundation in North America.
Why?!?!?!
Look, I tried this on in Sephora and I like the fact that their consultants are well-trained so the colour is perfect.
As is the texture - it gives good coverage without being heavy and it's easy to use.
However. I have oily skin and this slips and slides all over the place!
The packaging is also really bad - it's a pump bottle but a LOT of the foundation has caught up in the pimp itself - big waste.
For something so expensive, I'd be expecting much more

I have tried many brands from YSL, Bobbi Brown, MAC, Lancome, Givenchy to Clinique. But this has been my favorite because:
1. unlike the other brands I have used it does not break me out.
2. love the color selection. I have medium skin with cool undertones and matched with
shade # 128 which is perfect.
3. comes with a pump which I like.
4. I have combination skin and have had no problems in terms of oiliness or dryness.

I love this foundation for special occasions where I know I'm going to get photographed, as this looks amazing in pictures. Add the MUFE HD powder and it's perfect. The downside to this foundation is that it's not a long wearing one, and even with a good primer it will not last me an 8 hour workday.
I've also had some issues with the colors, even though they have a great range. I use 120 although it will make me look very yellow when I am more pale, and I have tried 125, 130, and 135 in hopes one of these would work in winter, but it seems 120 is the only one that closely matches my skin all year round.
