I had wanted to try a 'regimine' sonce I am 21 now, I figured I should get an adult facial care system going. Well the affordability of CLinique, and the sales people tricked me into about $100 worth of prducts. THe 3-step works well for about a week, then my skin broke out, became very VERY oily, and I had a nose full of blackheads. THe Dramatically Different Moisturizer was also so different, in fact it was the first moisturizer that was all oil, and made my skin feel gross. All in all, I will never EVER but this product again.

For a while clinique will SEEM as though it works coz ur skin will feel a lil smoother than usual BUT after about a month or two of constant use, u will find that it slowly deteriorates your skin. Leaving it more prone to break outs and leaves it extremely sensitive. The toners have high amounts of alcohol, strong enough for nailpolish remover. the dramatically different moisturiser is oil. U mite as well dip ur face in oil, it'll b the same thing. Very few ppl have actually foudn clinique products to be benefical. Most ppl are just fooled by the sales associates. I knew more about their products than some of teh sales associates did. YOU know ur skin, and u know exactly wat makes it react in a certain way and wat doesnt. Dont let them talk u into buying something that u know might irritate you. I would honestly recommend a simple cleanser to begin with. Only you know your skin, everyone's skin type is different and if they try and talk you into anything, dont give in. u will honestly waste ur money! luckily clinique has a 30 day refund policy!!! and in canada, this stuff isnt cheap either!!!

The soap sucks....dried me out beyond belief. Toner only made it worse...burned like acid or something. The moisturizer couldn't even begin to repair the problems the first two products had caused. I even tried it again after a couple of years...same results. Was I a sucker for cute packaging. NEVER AGAIN!

Well, at age of 29, I'm finally starting to take care of my dry skin. Other than my skin being dry, I had pretty good skin, but getting close to 30, the dryness started to get worst. Well, this 3 step system is NOT good! I started out with the soap, Clarifying Lotion 2, and the dramatically diffenent moisturizing lotion. Well, the soap dries my skin out even more, and the Clarifying Lotion burned. I actually liked the DDML. I switched the Clarifying Lotion 2 to the Mild Clarifying Lotion, and that does NOTHING! But it dosen't contain alchol, so, I guess thats good. Overall, the 3-step is NOT good! The Clarifying lotion stinks!!

I use the 3 step program, but I modify it, by using the Extra mild soap, #1 Clarifying lotion, & in addition to the yellow lotion, I also use their moisturizer called Moisture on Line. My 3 step is for drier skin types. During the harsh winter months (like now) I use the DDL, then add Moisture on Line (this will layer your face for added protection)& boy is your face now ready for the cold. I'm 50, with no dry skin. I love it!!

My parents bought this for me cuz I liked clinique products so much but as soon as I started using it my skin started getting worse. I got even more breakouts than usual. The only thing I like about it is that when I put the clarifying lotion on when my skin is very oily it feels good to have it dry.

Wow, this stuff is great, awesome basic skincare, my favorite is the cleanser, it's cleans very well and rinses clean. I also love the lotion which makes my skin soo silky. But I tried the clarifying lotion too strongly, the level 3, it almost burned my skin.

Apart from the great marketing, nothing else about this works for me. Hate the idea of using a bar of soap to wash my face (keep dropping it in the shower), the toner is vile and the moisturiser is just ok. Using the system actually made my skin worse off. But surprisingly, it seems to work on some people, my friend has been using it for years and her skin is great. My room mate just started using it and his skin has really cleared up. But still I'd warn people to stay away from this.

RUN as fast and as far away as you can from this stuff. Unless you want overstripped, dehydrated, hypersensitive, red and irritated skin. Especially awful on teenagers, combo and oily skin gals. This creates a sort of rebound effect that only worsens any blemish or acne condition you might have. Ladies, harsh alcohol and soap in facial products is NOT a good thing. Never, ever.I really do not what's worse, the soap, toner or moisturizer. How is this 3 step to disaster still popular and in its original formula, with such a huge fan base is a mystery to me. At least I convinced my sister years ago to give up on this. My makeup mitzvah has been accomplished. :-)

I really believe that this works for my skin. My skin is very sensitive, and the soap is gentle, and not drying, and the clarifying lotion hasnt seemed to irritate me, which is unusual since most toners aggravate me. I like the moisturizer too.

never again i will get this!! the moisturiser doesnt hydrate, the clarifying lotion is so.... drying. the soap is ok. and the fact that they tell u to exfoliate with the clarifying lotion is bad 4 ur skin. long term, it will make ur skin thin and eventually, ur skin gets dry as it go fragile. bad concept!! but ive got to say the turnaround cream is good, but not 4 everynite use, mayb one or twice a week.

clinique's three-step system was the first skincare line i used -- and by far the worst.
words can't describe just how much i dislike this line.
the cleanser was useless and made me breakout, the toner had freaking alcohol in it, and the moisturiser felt like grease. i'm not kidding.
i was quite young and didn't know any better -- clinique was one of the 'big name' companies so i thought, can't be that bad.
boy was i wrong.
never, ever again.
i did think maybe it was me with my sensitive skin...but honestly, every single person i've talked to who has used the three step system has absolutely hated it.
live and learn...

I have VERY oily skin, and breakouts are so frequent. I also have acne, and not even hormonal treatment could do something. But Clinique did! Here is my review:
- Facial Soap: the first thing i thought was "it's so cute!" it comes in a dish which always comes very handy although the smell isn'tt hat good. It reminds me of old standard soap, to be honest. After cleaning my face with it, it felt so soft i couldn't beleive it. 9/10
- Clarifying Lotion: This is what I liked the least. Don't get me wrong, it left my skin soft but the "bottle" is much larger than the other two so it's difficult to keep it with them together. And I bet the lotion is very much like any other type of lotion, if you know what I mean. 6/10
Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion: now, this is what i'd been looking for all my life. usually, when i apply moisturiser, my skin becomes really oily and shiney and my pores expand. But with this lotion not only did my pores become smaller, but they also disappeared!
10/10
In conclusion, my skin has really improved thanks to Clinique. My complexion gets clearer by the day and I get compliments everywhere i go. I just wish it was (much) cheaper, I guess you get what you pay for...

I think the Mild 3-step is the best. The toner doesnt dry me out because I do have a drier skintype. The soap is creamy, and feels pretty good. I do prefer a creamy cleanser to a soap. The DDL is a good moisturizer it sinks in and my skin feels like its drinking it. Really is a miracle worker. This is a good basic skincare system for people that don't spend a lot of time or money on their skin, but want something that will be helpful to improving the condition of it.

I used this for about 1.5 years and i thought it was ok. Although my skin was irritated by it and the toner stung my face. DDML was ok though. I recently changed to Biotherm and i realised that my skin could be so much better than it was with clinique. It is nearly flawless now and it dosn't get irritated by the biotherm as it did with the clinique stuff.

Overall, the idea is good. But I didn't find that this system worked for my skin. I ended up dry in some places, oily in others, and all kinds of confused.

I have Type II skin, and I got the starter pack - a box worth AUD$39, with a small sized bar of soap, toner and moisturizer. The first time I used the soap, I liked that it was pretty mild. The toner though stung my face. I read though that you shouldn't swipe any part of your face with the toner more than once, and since then, the 3-step system has worked pretty well for me. I don't usually break out but I do get the occasional large zit, but since using this I haven't even gotten those. It could still be too early to tell (only about 2-3weeks since I got it). One gripe though - the soap bar could have been packaged better. The way it is now, the bottom can get really soggy with time. The plastic packaging it comes in is really durable though, I dropped it on the bathroom tiles twice! And it didn't even crack.
