It smelled very strong and syrupy on me, really cloying and sweet. Didn't like it, although not being a big Pleasures girl I didn't expect to.

I tried this yesterday and loved it! Actually a very persistant sales associate got me to smell it---otherwise I never would have, not being a fan of Pleasures anything. ( Im' a die hard Angel fan)---I'd say it's an oriental gourmand, maybe with a bit of a floral note. Lots of nice patchouli and caramel and vanilla! A nice everyday fragrance for the stay at home mom! I will be asking for this for christmas! Too bad the bottle isn't a bit more special!

I received a generous sample of this fragrance when purchasing a couple bottles of the Tom Ford Azuree Soleil Skin Scent. The SA filled a vial for me and I took it home and forgot about it for a couple days. Then, after reading the list of notes, I decided to sample it.

Being a lover of berries and gourmands, I anxiously awaited for the "whipped strawberry meringue" to make an appearance, shortly followed by the "sugared rose petals, caramel, marshmallows, and vanilla". Unlike Escada's Sexy Graffiti, which is mostly strawberries with a hint of violet thrown in, what I got was a gentle kiss of fruit overwhelmed by soft florals, and the "gentle touch of patchouli" was more of a firm whack.

But overall, the effect is very much like Angel. I think it's the sweetness and patchouli. I haven't tried all the Angel incarnations, but own both the original as well as the Innocent, and adore both for their own beauty and personality. I wonder how it compares to the Angel Innocent Summer Flash/Innocent Secret, which also has the addition of berry notes, since I haven't been able to try that one yet. This is similar to both Angels I have as well as Dior's Miss Dior Cherie, which I also like in small doses.

I hung on the fence for a bit, since I have and love Angel. But after wearing them side by side, I decided to spring for the larger bottle of Pleasures Delight. I find myself reaching for it quite often. It's lighter and more fruity than Angel, and works for almost every occasion. It's flirty, playful, slightly sweet, and doesn't remind me of the original Pleasures at all, which I find a little too flowery for my tastes.

I think it's definitely one of those love it or hate it scents, and highly recommend people sample it first, since the list of notes seems not to translate very well to the actual scent itself. But it is sweet and lovely when I'm feeling especially girly and feminine, and I'm hoping it isn't LE, because I will most likely repurchase when I run out.

Well this does in fact remind me of Angel but I like this so much better. Smells spicy and sweet. A pretty fall/winter fragrance that has a sexy edge.

This is the perfect marriage of Pleasures and Pink sugar. I can see why people are comparing this to Angel. The drydown is fantastic. You can smell the patchouli, the strawberries, heck if there were such a thing as sugar coated rose petals, I definitely smelled it here. And unlike other gourmands, this fragrance isn't sickenly, just came out of the bakery sweet. If you like Dior Cherie and Hanae Mori, then you'll definitely like this!

I'm not a 'Pleasures' sort of girl, so I was expecting not to like this when I tested it, but I have to admit it's pretty nice. It is VERY sweet, and I wouldn't wear it all the time, but I would when I'm in the mood for that sort of fragrance. Sort of reminds me of Hanae Mori (probably the strawberry), but I like HM much more. I haven't bought a bottle of Delight and not sure I ever would, but I would be happy to receive it as a gift and wouldn't mind smelling it on others! :-)

Top Notes: Juicy Pomegranate, fresh Greens and dewy Freesia combine with the fruity taste of whipped Strawberry Meringue to delight the senses.
Middle Notes: A heavenly bouquet of flowers enriches the heart. Soft petals of White Peony and Lily blend with fresh Muguet and tender Heliotrope to create a delectable floral confection.
Base Notes: Warm, delicately sweetened notes of Sugared Rose Petals, tempting Caramel, fluffy Marshmallow and Vanilla meld together, forming the delicious dry down. Touches of Patchouli balance the creamy gourmand feeling.
Found this in a mag and fell in love, It is just as nice as the original Pleasures, I love the fragrance and it is so easy to wear. When Estee Lauder does it right they really do.Maybe it is the patchouli that gets me, I wake up and I still smell wonderful. Great job and great fragrance would get it again, and it is PINK ♥♥♥

When I was a little girl, I used to create "custom perfumes" by blending together different cheap body splashes (and occasionally a few spritzes of my Mom's perfume--shh!) in plastic cups. Apparently the renowned house of Estee Lauder has taken lessons from a 7-year-old me. Pleasures Delight is Pink Sugar haphazardly blended with some nondescript floral (Perhaps the original Pleasures?). My childhood Franken-fumes never smelled very good. Neither does this.

Pleasures Delight began as chocolate and vanilla on me, but dried
down to an unpleasant candy, dirty dishwater, and pine combination. Chemistry is everything. I love the simplicity, line. and pink color of the bottle design, as well as the ad with Gwyneth Paltrow.

Update: 5/7/08

I have been wearing this for a months now. Since Christmas. I got the 1.7oz gift set with a smaller purse spray. I would never leave that in a purse though, it's glass and seems delicate. I love this perfume, and for that reason I try not to wear it often. I get tired of perfumes easily, so I want to go back to it ever so often and enjoy the fragrance instead of being sick of it. When you first spray it, it is stronger but not overwhelming. The warmer weather will always affect the scent.
It's hard to describe for me... It's floral and gourmand. Fresh and a little sweet at times, sexy on the dry down. I can see how most gourmands with patchouli are compared to Angel, but this is really different. It's elegant and well done. Few perfumes these days are worked on as hard as an Estee Lauder perfume, they take their time in creating scents.

Based on the rave reviews and notes listed, I was hoping that Pleasures Delight might finally be The One EL Scent that made its way into my heart and fragrance wardrobe, but..............no. It may sound like a yummy gourmand blend but to me/on me this smells like a really, *really* cheap imitation of Thierry Muglers Angel, like a bottom-end designer imposter that you might find at a dollar store. All I get is artificial honey and artificial fruits. It even has that 'sugar' note that I just cannot stand. Gah. I would not even wear this in desperation. It's just not well done, IMO. Sorry to be the one to ruin the perfect run, ladies. I just call them as I see them (or smell them).

I tried this on at Nordstrom's over the weekend and it was a lovely vanilla oriental fragrance. Not nearly as floral as I was expecting, though, given the advertising campaign. This fragrance had more...headiness to it, I guess? It seemed like something that a woman who normally wears strong orientals would like for the summer. Personally, I'm more of a "pure white linen" kind of girl, so I couldn't wear this everyday. But for special occasions, it would be very nice.

So I am confused by this perfume. It's released for summer although it's a warm, spicy, foody scent. It reminds me of Shalimar, although I don't know why. I think I love it, even though I hate Shalimar. I have sniffed it the last few times at the mall and ended up spritzing myself with it. When I think it might be too heavy, I am drawn back to sniffing my wrist. I broke down and bought it today. One of the things I like most is that it's not a weak fragrance. It's potent and you don't need much to make a statement and it LASTS!!! Will it be my new HG? We shall see. It's not what I usually go for and it's a surprise that I like it at all, but as I said. I think I love it...

I totally agree with the previous reviewer. It is sweet, spicy, fruity, floral, all in 1 bottle. I hate the original Pleasures, and although I do like Pleasures Exotic and Intense, this one is defintely my style-I guess because it does have the fruity scent. Exotic and Intense were too much on the floral side for me. I think this is the first fragrance from EL that resembles more of a sweet/fruity scent yet, it is not tacky and the fragrance doesn't fade. I actually bought this as soon as it hit the stores. You really have to try this to see the difference.

nowsmellthis.com describes Pleasures Delight as a: "floral gourmand confection blending juicy fruits, tangy citrus and irresistible desserts and sweets. The notes include pomegranate, fresh greens, freesia, whipped strawberry meringue, peony, lily, muguet, heliotrope, sugared rose petals, caramel, marshmallow, vanilla, patchouli."
I smelled this on Thursday night in my Glamour magazine. I don't like Estee Lauder, and I don't like Gwyneth Paltrow (who does all the Pleasures ads). So, I wasn't immediately interested. I usually put scent strips from magazines on my wrists at night before bed, so gave it a chance before I went to sleep. I could not stop smelling my wrists. This is a lovely scent. If you've smelled Miss Dior Cherie (or Angel), then you know kind of what to expect. It is foody, so it has the spicy, sweet thing going on that Miss Dior Cherie has. But, what makes it different is that I actually smell strawberries in this. It balances out the spiciness of the vanilla nd patchouli. I also do smell some floral notes that keep it from being too heavy. It isn't "fresh" per se, but it is suitable for summer. It manages to be heady, sweet, floral, and refreshing at the same time. You have to smell it.
