Hemp Hand Protector is an amazing product from The Body Shop. My skin is very dry, especially this time a year. After looking at my dry, irritated and flaking hands I decided to go to The Body Shop and buy this product. I don't regret it, it works miracle. I use it 1-3 times per day and I've noticed a big difference. It is very moisturizing, exactly what my hands need this time a year.
The smell is not lovely but I can definitely stand it considering how good the result is. The scent is not overpowering at all, actually I don't notice it much. The cream is very thick but when rubbed in it absorbs very well. For those who don't have especially dry hands this cream will probably be too thick and greasy. The packaging is okay, nothing special about it. I will definitely repurchase this hand cream. I have a feeling I will use this hand cream often this upcoming winter. HG-product!

This product saved my hands from total destruction over the summer. Washing dishes every day can really do a lot of damage... So, I went to the Body Shop and got this in a three for thirty deal! Soo glad I did. My hands were, itchy, irritated, dry, and flaking. After applying this 1-3 times a dry for about two weeks, I saw a big difference.
I don't mind the smell, though some people might because of how strong it is. It smells like it works ;) Lasts a long time! I used it pretty much every day this summer and still have half the product left. Would buy it again in a heartbeat.
GREAT PRODUCT!

This hand cream has worked exceptionally well for my dry, overly cleansed/sanitized hands. I'm a dental professional and have to wash my hands several times a day. The consistency is very thick initially, but when rubbed in, it absorbs very, very well. My hands never feel greasy or oily, which is important. The scent is "earthy", but it's not overpowering. I don't notice the scent very much unless I have my hands close to my face, and it disappears rather quickly. I actually quite like the smell. I have a bit of a hippie spirit, so the hemp smell doesn't bother me. :)

Some people complain about the packaging, specifically the cap. I've never had a problem with it. You just have to make sure that the cap is on straight before you start tightening it. I've also never had a problem with the product seeping out, as some have mentioned.

Overall, this is a great product and I always have it in my purse/bag. I will continue to repurchase as long as The Body Shop continues to sell it!

I have very dry hands and this cream did the trick. It is very thick but sinks in quickly and keeps your hands well moisturized. If you don't have very dry hands like me, you might find it too thick and greasy. The patchouli scent is very strong, but personally I like it. However, I suspect many people won't like the scent, so I recommend smelling it before buying. The packaging is just okay. The reason I won't be repurchasing: it contains artificial fragrance and parabens.

I've been wearing this for an hour now, so I might update the rating after some time...

Packaging: I don't really like it. I like the silvery colour of the tube, but it looks too much like a tube of ointment for a rash or something. And the flat topped, shallow lid is pretty much useless and ineffective in closing the tube after each use. Excess cream sticks out of the tube even if you squeeze the tube a little.

Application: On application, my rough hands felt so smooth and soft it didn't even feel like my hands! :O
But after half-an-hour or so, the usual rough feeling of my hands returned. The moisturizing effect of the cream is apparently just temporary.

This is the first time I have used this, so I might update the rating if my hands do become softer after continued use (or alternatively, become drier/rougher).

The smell is certainly what everyone has made allusions to (I loved the hippie description someone else here gave!): hippiesh, herbal, sort of bitter, a bit like how my grandma's room used to smell like (i.e. musty and old-lady-ish). A bit unpleasant, but nothing unbearable. I suggest using this before going to bed for everyone who likes the cream but can't put up with the smell!

This is great stuff - I tend to get pretty dry fingers, but applying this before I go to bed means my hands and fingers are always smooth and well moisturised. I find it too heavy to wear during the day. The smell can be a little overpowering at night, but it's a small price to pay; the product works really well, and means I usually don't have to wear handcream during the day.

I don't like the "foil" tube - it looks horrible after using the product for a few months. I also really don't like the screw top; product tends to accumulate in the threads of the screw and around the base; I'm constantly having to wipe it off.

I will buy this again, but I've already had it a few months and probably only used a quarter of the product - a little bit goes a long way.

This hand cream scores points for silky texture, great hippie scent and nice packaging.
The texture is heavy, but still silky feeling due to the silicones in it I guess.
I bought a cheapie Aveeno hand cream and returned that to later find this.
It is pricey, but the Neutrogena Norwegian hand cream is hard to find here.
Light patchouli scent is also really fab, did I already mention that? heh, it is lovely, really.
All winter I have had dry chapped hands and this is just what I need to smooth em up and keep them looking buff and happy. I like this better than shea butter products tried also.

If you suffer from very dry skin and feel like nothing helps, you should give this a try. Yes, it smells a bit funky and makes you smell like a pot smoking hippie (yes, I said it :D) but it works wonders on cracked skin. A friend of mine gave me this as a birthday present with the sentence "look, you can also use this plant in a cream" (yay, I´m a hippie or something, but look how she cares for me, at least she gave me legal present :D) and I´m very glad she did. I know it´s on the pricier side but it really helps and you don´t need to reapply it 100 times to keep the moisture. One time is enough and your tube will last very long.

I love this, the smell is weird, but I apply this in the morning and the moisture lasts almost all day. I lost it and had to use some other hand lotion.. I felt I was pouring just water on my hands. This is a must have in my purse.

I love this hand cream especially in the winter when my skin gets really chapped. I suffer from very dry skin on my hands and feet. I use this with the gloves overnight to really get my hands baby soft and keep the smaller size tube in my handbag for on the go. It really helps dry cracked skin to heal up. I don't mind the smell its not the greatest smell in the world but it doesn't bother me.

I love this cream, I even like the funky smell. It works wonderfully on my dry hands and I've used it on my feet with the same success. At £10 for 100ml it's not exactly cheap but I'll definitely buy this again.

This cream is cheaper than the Curel hand cream I have been using! It lasts for a long time, my hands feel great! The smell doesn't bother me, I kind of like it actually. I also love it because its fragrance free(fragrance always irritates my skin). The only smell is from the hemp. I highly recommend it and will be looking for it again!

I'm on my second tube of this cream, although both of the times I got it as a present from my boyfriend, so I didn't buy it volonteerily. I always have tubes of different hand moisturizers lying around in my apartment, because I reach for a hand cream several times a day. I actually like this product quite a lot, it's rich and moisturizing, and it doesn't leave any film on my hands. You have to get used to the smell, I don't really know if this is actually what hemp smells like, but I would call the smell very organic. I find that this hand protector works best as a night time moisturizer or during the winter.
I also enjoy the look of the tube, which is nice and old-fashioned, but I hate the screw on lid. It always takes me a while to close the tube.
All in all I hope I'll get another tube of this when it finishes, but right now I'm quite curious to try the hemp lip balm from the same collection. I hear it's very effective.

I have been using this product for a good 6-7 years. I never stop, it's the only thing that keeps my hands moisturized and to me it's worth all the money.

This seems to do wonders for a lot of people, but I found it to be mediocre at helping my very dry and problematic hands. The smell is okay but not a favourite, and I'm not sure I like the metal packaging.

I love this hand cream. I love everything about it - the smell (wish it lasted longer), the thick consistency, the price (steep but got it at sale for 3 for $30 Cdn), and the fact that it moisturizers extremely well (let's just say that ONE application moisturized my skin beautifully making them soft and smooth even when I washed my hands throughout the day with the harsh soap that they have at work. Usually after washing my hands with the awful soap at work, my hands get extremely dry and it feels extremely uncomfortable, but this totally won me over. No other creams have moisturized so well.) Am utterly and totally impressed with this hand cream. Will buy it over and over again! TBS please do not change a thing about this cream!!

This is my 3rd tube of this stuff.. its absolutely amazing! I use it every night before I go to sleep on my hands, and it ensures that they stay super dooper soft! Its definitely HG material for a good hand cream because its so moisturising. I know some people hate the smell, but for me its really not that bad at all.. the fact its so moisturising means I have come to love the smell! Be careful when squeezing it out though, it comes in an art paint style tube so it can keep on oozing out like crazy

This may be a decent hand cream but the scent is so strong and lingers for a very long it me. It is a terribly unpleasant smell that makes me queasy. I don't like to waste so I kept at it but after using half the tube, I just couldn't take the smell anymore. So if you like the hemp smell, I think this is a good, solid product, but just not for me.
