I tried to work with this blush but ended up returning it to Sephora. I too, was very excited to see a new cheek tint from Tarte because i love my minis in Flush and Tickled Pink. This just didn't give me enough color. The packaging is cute but not worth the price. I'm a PPP so I thought it would be a nice light pink for me but it's just too light.

This is cute, although it is very, very light. I have to apply 2-3 layers for any color to show up on me and I am pretty pale...MAC N4 or NW20. The container is really adorable and the product smells nice...like a candy of some sort. I am not sure that I would rebuy because these are expensive at $28 for 1.5 oz. I have had better luck with the other Tarte stains...like Flush or Blushing Bride.

This is the biggest disappointment in 2005 thus far. I own all the other tarte cheek stains and was itching to try this one. I finally got it and it is way too light. I am a warm NC30 light olive complexion and this barely shows up even though i used layer after layer. I finally got just a hint of a brightened pink on my cheeks but it wasnt really enough for me. This did last all day but alas, for $26, this is just too pale. I would not repurchase.

I LOOOVE it! This is my first tarte cheekstain and now I want tipsy, too! Dollface is a cool toned baby pink with buildable color. I am a PPP and can take it from a very light, barely there flush, to bright pink cheeks (which I love, hehe). I think that the color is somewhere between stila's blush in cozy and raspberry (pro color) which is perfect for me because those are two of my favorite blushes ever. It has a slight silver shimmer which just makes you look glowy. I've put it on over TM, and over Powder foundation, and it went on nicely both ways. I dabbed straight on my cheeks and then blended with my finger tips, and I also used LM's Cream Blush Brush to blend. I did try it on my lips too, and while it's a cute color, it tastes kind of bad.

I didn't notice the grittiness some people talked about, but I've never owned one of these before. I wouldn't say that it's super smooth to the touch, feels a little grainy maybe, but I thought it might be due to the shimmer?

A+++ from me!

EDIT 2/25 -- Not to make my review even LONGER, but I went out and bought Tipsy and NOW I know what the grittiness is that people are talking about. MY DF cheek stain has a much more firm, gritty feeling than my tipsy, which is super smooth and creamy. Compared with the tipsy, the dollface is hard to blend and remains thick and sticky. I don't want to bash on it, because it could just be mine, but it would be nice if Tarte could be more consistant with the products. Edit 7/2/05 -- I exchanged my DF cheekstain because when I was at the tarte counter, the regional artist here said that they reformulated it and sent back the originals because they weren't pigmented enough and were too hard. I got a new one and it's much more like tipsy in the smooth consistancy, and much more pigmented (I don't have to "build" color as much now). If you bought one when it first came out, go somewhere that sells Tarte and exchange it, or contact the company, because the reformulated version is MUCH better.

Just got Dollface and love it! So glad I gave these another chance after a bad experience with Tickled Peach (Aahhh, the red, too much). Anyway, I'm a medium-olive LOLA and was a bit wary that Dollface would be too light. It's lovely and very subtle and pretty on. It's everything I wanted (colorwise) from Benefit's Dandelion in a gel stick and I love that I don't have to pile it on to get that color on my cheeks! The fragrance is so yummy...it reminds me of Frankenberry Cereal (if anyone remembers that). The texture is similar to Tipsy as other reviewers have noted and although I was initially put off by the sticky factor of these cheekstains I do appreciate the blendability and sheer color that they impart. I much prefer the 'glow' to any brushed on blush (and I love blush!). So, I'm won over and have to recommend these to anyone who's interested. **UPDATE**I've decided this is a bit light and gummy for my complexion. Mark's creamy blushpaint in 'Delighted' is along the same hue line and suits me better. Still, I do recommend this for ladies with lighter skin tones.

I must confess my bias - I adore Tarte cheekstains. I consider Tickled Peach a Holy Grail. I love the colors, the finish, and especially, the awesome staying power (seriously, these things last ALL day on me!!). Some people fine 'em sticky - that doesn't bother me at all.

Having noted my bias, Dollface is no exception - it is completely lovely. I would describe it as a light slightly-cool pink with a silvery sheen. It is not so cool that I, being a warm-toned LLL, can't wear it. It is indeed very wearable, and the pigment is more along the lines of Tipsy, as opposed to the more pigmented Tickled Peach or Flush. Since it is lighter, I would say Dollface is probably easier for people to blend and look "naturally" flushed, or at least more subtle in its tone. The only downside I see is that because Dollface is on the light side, it may not work for darker skin tones. Overall, I am very happy I bought this a few days after it came out. It is a lovely addition to tarte's cheek stain line.

I love this new color. IMO, it's one of the prettier and more wearable of the Cheek Stains. I agree with the previous reviewer about the name being appropriate, it really does give me a dollface look. It's on the coolish side, and applies as a sheer rosy baby pink with the same glowy shimmer that Tipsy has. It doesn't seem to be as sticky as the more pigmented stains, like Flush, but it still lasts all day on my dry skin. The scent is...interesting. It's supposed to be strawberries and cream, but it kind of reminds me of those Strawberry Shortcake dolls from the 80s. Not unpleasant, but not my favorite scent either.

I was so excited when I heard about this new cheek stain that I ordered it the day it came out on the Tarte website. I got it today and it is so cute. It's a light clear pink. On the tube it says, "Add a dab of pink for the rosiest sweet cheeks. Just don't blame us for all those pinches." I think the name Dollface fits it perfectly because it really makes you look like a sweet dolly when you dab it on the cheeks and stain your lips with it. It smells like strawberry milk. I love Flush as well but Flush can seem a little unnatural if you apply too much, Dollface looks much more natural on me because it has less of a cool undertone to it. However, Flush does seem more pigmented and seems to last longer. Rave for Tarte shipping as well, I ordered on Wednesday night and got it Friday afternoon.
EDIT: I really wish this had more pigment, even on my pale skin I have to layer it. Deducting one point for that
