Not the worst I've ever used but not the best, either. I used the blue-black shade and while the color is great, it runs and bleeds, day after day after day. No matter how much you shampoo, even with color-preserving shampoos, the color bleeds...down yourface like the stigmata, on your pillowcases, down your neck around the collar of your shirts - black streaks everywhere. I went back to my old standby which was Revlon colorsilk. Revlon's blue black is not that theatrical or dramatic of a blue black (no Elvis black here) but it is a great shade and at least when you apply it, it stays on your hair instead of on your skin & personal effects.

Absolutely awful. I've been dying my hair for years and I will never, ever use this again. I have medium brown hair and went dark brown, and it faded within days under the same conditions in which dyes like Loreal or Natural Instincts lasted weeks and weeks. I've never used a product with such a false name. I will not repurchase under any circumstances, and when I dye shop with my friends I tell them to stay clear.

Love the blue black color, and have been using it for around three years now. No damage to my hair, it has never done anything 'weird'...it's probably the most gentle drugstore hair dye that I've used, and the color is great (I've been dying my dark brown hair black for the last 7 years, and this is the best shade I've found).

Color (dark brown) came out okay, but the smell of the dye lingered into the next day. No other hair color has done that to me. Would not repurchase when better products are available at about the same price.

i use the blue black and i love it. it is so much better than feria (starry night)
it lasts at least four weeks before it starts to fade which i consider great because when i used to use feria, the color would start to burn off, as soon as my flat iron hit the color. the smell is no where near as harsh as feria, and it isnt as runny. and one of the best things about this haircolor is that this is the blackest my hair has looked, probably ever. i love it.
edit: while this did make my hair the blackest it has ever been, i realize that this and a lot of other hair colors, work great the first time but when you touch up, the color doesnt seem to last as long, so now i realize the best option for me is to alternate between products. but i still give this a good review, because i really like how black it makes my hair

I have dark blonde hair naturally, and I had Colour Match lightest ash blonde in it from about 1 month prior. I used 101 Very Light Ash Blonde Garnier 100 Color. Its been a week and my hair is amazingly soft, the tones are very natural, and quite true to the box. As far as lightening my natural roots, they are fairly brassy, but Ive found that anytime Ive lifted the colour a little. Because Im dying over already dyed hair, its hard to be a good judge of how true the colour is, but Im impressed with how gentle it was. Smell wasnt terrible, conditioner was awesome! and my hair feels lovely. I would use it again. Also, I havent found another brand that has a similar light ashy blonde quite like this one. Also, very shiny and while the brassiness in my roots has faded, the colour on the rest has not.UPDATE: Its been three weeks and I keep getting compliments. My hair has still never been so healthy feeling and the colour has softened into a really breautiful tone. Definately buying this again.

I've used this a couple of times, mostly in different shades of red. I think this hair dye is highly pigmented, and lasts for about 4 weeks before starting to fade. However, I think the color selection could be improved. That's the reason for the 4 lippies.

Shucks...I'm kind of torn about this one. I've been using it for about two years now, but I'm not exactly in love with it. I color my hair Blue-Black from my natural dark blonde and I can honestly say that this is the perfect shade...it is a true blue-hued black with just enough blue to be edgy and daring but enough black to stay within the normal realm of human shades. However, I find both the dye and conditioner they provide to be drying and damaging, my hair is always slightly worse-off after each time I touch up. Also, it doesn't exactly have a lot of longevity, after about four weeks I start to see fading and wearing off. :( I would instantly switch to another brand, if only I could find that beautiful shade!

Ugh. I don’t know where to start. I have Asian hair. Past my shoulders. And curly.
I bought the UB-3 In golden brown. I guess I expected too much?
First off. The whole top part of my roots is a browny color. How ever, it did not have the same results for the rest of my hair. The rest looks like it hasn’t been touched. So now it looks like I have light BROWN roots with black hair.
It looks gross.
I need to re dye it black.
Disappointed.

It works! I wanted to lighten my hair to a blonde with L'oreal super blonde and it left my hair a horrible yellow-orange think orange shebert...
But when I used Garnier 100% color extreme beige blonde I was left with a beautiful light blonde color, not brassy at all..I left on the conditioner for about 10 minutes and it made my hair healthier and softer than before.I I was nervous to use this since the box did say not recommended for bleached hair, but I took the chance, and Thank God,this didn't damage my hair .

It looks like I am another reviewer who actually liked this stuff. I had been using L'Oreal Excellence/Revlon Colorsilk in Medium Golden Brown but wanted to go a little darker for fall, so I picked this up in Dark Golden Brown because I had a coupon...and voila, I have my new HG haircolor! The color is beautiful and looks so natural, really pretty chocolate brown with gold tones (thank goodness not red...I have had issues with that in the past). I was a little concerned because it warns on the box that is not designed for people with more than 50% gray...I would say I am about 20-30% but was worried that it would not cover the gray very well, and that turned out to be a worry for nothing because it covered them just fine. Now it has been about 2.5 weeks since I colored with this and it has not faded and it has surprisingly stuck to the grays too. A definite repurchase for me!

I'm one of the few with a positive comment it seems.
My hair was naturally dark brown, and the red color I dyed my hair with was fading (it was originally purple, but my stylist was crap). I bought 2 boxes of blue-black, for better and more intense results. I loved it! The conditioner worked great on my hair, it was so soft!
I guess, it really depends on your hair. My hair seems to love me.

I am very surprised as well to see so many negative reviews. First off, I'd like to explain the condition and color of my hair, because a lot of people don't give out that information with their reviews, and I think that it is a critical factor in the outcome of your hair dye experience. So here we go.
My hair WAS black. Dyed black. Over and over. And not just any dye but Feria black hair dye which is really intense color. One day I got an idea that I wanted to dye it brown, which is closer to my natural color. I knew I couldn't just pick up a box of brown dye and go over the black--that does NOT work. You must lift the darker color to a lighter one to achieve it. So what did I do? I went to Sally's, bought Quick Blue and spent the next TWO DAYS bleaching my hair until it had the consistency of straw and looked crayon yellow and orange. Well, I had to dye over that mess, so I used Nutrisse in Chestnut, and dyed it subsequently 3 or 4 times over 7 days. It was nice dye, but I wasn't floored by it... too light and brassy (granted, it was on bleached hair) even after I went over it so many times.
** NOW, ONTO THE REVIEW... **
Anyway, you're probably thinking that my hair is melted off my head right now, but it's still in fairly good shape considering all the damage I inflicted on it. I finally decided to go a few levels darker and I picked 100% Color because I liked how it looked in the swatches (it had a luminescent quality of brown, like the brown you see on those Brilliant Brunette commercials). So I chose Dark Golden Brown, and crossed my fingers that it would come out the way it should, without depositing weird colors in my hair or making my roots orange or something...
Well, guess what? I hit the Hair Dye Jackpot!!! It looks exactly like the swatch and the girl on the box. It darkened my hair considerably even after all that trauma, to a beautiful chocolatey brown that is not too brassy or red, just right in between, and it looks natural enough to make me seem as if I was born with it but still lucked out in the gene pool because the color is top notch brown...it's just PERFECT!! I feel so happy with it. And my hair is--guess what--still not fried! It feels soft and has not suffered much breakage. I couldn't be happier.
So people need to give 100% Color a chance. It's my HG brown hair dye!

I just used this product last night- #433 Dark Golden Brown- and I LOVE it! The color turned out exactly like the picture on the box, so I am very pleased. Also my hair feels and looks very soft/silky.
I'm surprised to see so many negative reviews on here about this dye.

I tried this in light ash brown; I wanted to get rid of the reddish tones in my hair, well it did that, but the color was way too dark! The picture on the box and the color chart is not at all what the color turned out to be. My hair looked horrible, a really dark matte brown. When I called their 800 number all they told me was to keep washing my hair and it would gradually fade. It's been 3 days and it hasn't faded yet. I don't recommend this haircolor at all. I loved Garnier Lumina, I don't know why they discontinued it.

well i bought 630 in dark goldblonde(for the second time hoping this time it would work, thought it didnt work before cuz i recently toned it)...and of course like everyone else says, we wanted the color the asian girl has on the box but most of us diddnt get it, well maybe i got it on my roots and ontop of my previous highlights but the rest of my hair is just as dark as it was to begin with. i have naturally DARK BROWN hair with natural reddish highlights. But yeah....really disappointed, and saw Loreal feria ´hi lift browns didnt get that many good results either in lightening dark hair. Im goin to the salon to get highlights today WISH ME LUCK, they usually do it wrong!

I bought this product about two days ago from my local Walgreens. I bought shade #100, extra light natural blonde. I bought two boxes because I have long, thick hair. My natural shade is a dirty blonde. It was the first time I've ever dyed my whole head (as opposed to just highlights), and it was a success! After reading all the negative reviews on here about it, I was a bit hesitant to go for it. I believe I had a good experience with it because (a) I wasn't trying to cover any gray hair, (b) I actually read the instructions, and (c) my hair isn't very damaged. My hair felt so soft after dying it! The actual dye didn't smell too bad, and the included conditioner smells amazing! I love it. Try it, and you'll agree!

I used this in Pure Purple, and I LOOVE the color. It's not too punk but its still a little bit different. Definetely catched your eye. The conditioner that comes with this is terrible. I just thought that the dye had fried my hair, but then the conditioner ran out and my hair was nice again.

I dyed my hair today in mahogany brown. The color came out ok but it really dried out my hair. I have thin asian hair, so it tends to fry easily. I prefer using the original garnier fructisse hair dye because it doesn't dry my hair out at all, it even softens it. I bought this only because there was a buy one get one free offer, so I decided to give it a try. Well it's back to the original garnier fructisse next time.

My natural color is a dark blonde/ light brown. I had been highlighting my hair for years, and about a year ago decided to come over to the dark side (which I LOVE). I was going to the salon, but they kept making my hair a reddish brown, which I hated, and even though I asked them to take all the red out, they usually just put more in. So I started doing it at home. I started out with a semi-permanent dye, but as it washed out so quickly, I deciced to go with a permanent color. I bought the Medium Brown #501 because I wanted an nice medium neutral or ash brown. Since 100% Color doesn't really differentiate between warm, ash, golden, etc., I thought this one looked the closest. Well, it only really looks like "brown" at all in very diffused light. In direct sunlight, it looks like a weird super light, washed out brownish-ick. I pretty much hate it. I can't say it's the worst of all time, but I do pretty much hate the ugliness that is my hair right now. Won't be getting this one again.
