Thanks MUA for introducing me to this homemade product. I've been using it for about 2 weeks now and I've definitely noticed an improvement in my skin. I'm usually very acne prone with plenty of blackheads but ever since I've been using the aspirin toner, I've not developed any pimples. And my blackheads are gone!
The toner is drying but I also learned something else from MUA that helps. As a moisturizer, dab a little bit of petroleum jelly on your face and add water until the greasiness is gone. Supposedly, this is a beauty spa secret to keep your skin moisturized!
With both products working together, my skin feels and looks better than ever.

Disappointed with this toner. It didn't do anything for red marks or acne prevention. DDF Glycolic Toner, now that's something that packs a punch :)

Works at LEAST as well as any other toners i have tried. I dissovled 7 or 8 aspirin inside a bottle of water to make my toner. After a few days though the little pieces of aspirin started to bug me, so i cleaned those out (poured the toner back and forth between a few bottles and let the aspirin collect at the bottom). All you have to do before use is shake it up a little, and you are good to go!

i love this toner. 10 aspirin and the rest distilled water. i use it everynight all over and then i use it to spot treat and put on scars during the day. i was using the aspirin mask but adding this to my routine has really made a difference. 6/3 i don't really use to spot treat anymore as it seems a little strong. i use to make homeade tend skin now and use on my bikini area and under arms to prevent shave bumps. i just use this and add a little witch hazel to the cotton pad before applying

Works great! I'm seeing improvement in my skin. I have been using it for only a week. The bumps on my skin near the hairline (acne?) are nearly gone. My skin is definitely smoother and softer. Smells funny- probably the witch hazel and aloe.
I have some chemistry background and I looked at acetylsalicyclic acid's (aspirin) chemical properties. Its solubility in water is 100mg per 100mL of solution at room temperature. One tablet (Walgreen's) has 325mg of aspirin. 100mL of water is a bit over 3oz. So technically, you need only 1 tablet for 3oz of water. The rest of the aspirin will not dissolve unless you warm up the solution before using it. The rest of the aspirin will probably settle at the bottom. Shaking before use will dissolve a bit more aspirin, but not much.
If you warm it up and cool it to room temperature, the extra aspirin will come out of the solution (crystallize).
Also note aspirin tablets have other ingredients like starch as filler(some tablets have talc, so take a look at your tablets before buying). The white stuff at the bottom is probably composed of these extra ingredients and undissolved aspirin.
I put in 2 tablets and it worked as good as 10.
Its not about saving money. I don't like the white chunks and filtering is a mess. If you put in 40 and filter out and throw away the chunks, you're throwing away ~38-39 tablets. If you like the aspirin mask, you should save those tablets for that.

This toner is GREAT! I never use toners. I hate them. I have used many in the past and they did nothing but irritate my skin, and cause me to break out. Then I saw all these positive reviews - and since I had all the ingredients in my house (even the little bottle!) I thought "hey why not?" I have only used it maybe four times already and I am already in love! My skin looks SO GOOD! It is so even toned, smooth, soft, and glowy! I even tried the mask and it's also wonderful! I will update if my opinion changes but I really don't think it will! Who knew that after spending so much money on so many products that the answer was 99 cents and sitting in my medicine cabinet for all these years?! It's amazing how the simplest things are so effective.

Amazing! Just mixed 1 apirin with a little water in a very small bottle. Shake and soak on a cotton pad and used the reverse sides so no bits will go on my face. Then I can scoop up the tiny aspirin bits from the bottom and apply it on spots. My skin feels smooth, clear and glows. Not to mention that combined with the aspirin masks, it eliminates any whiteheads or clogged pores faster than anything I have ever, ever tried. And we're talking about closed pores like white bumbs that have been with me for months!! Almost gone with 3 masks and a few applications of toner. I don't care if it's messy, it works!!!

Just mixed up my own yesterday:
2 oz witch hazel with alcohol
4 oz distilled water
40 uncoated aspirin
strain through coffee filter into empty toner bottle
add 1 big squirt of aloe vera gel, shake.
I have used this 3 times now and I can really already see a difference. Oh my god. Who knew. I really hope I'm not mistaken, but this stuff seems really great. I'll update.
UPDATE: It stopped working for me after a couple of weeks. Maybe I have to mix it fresh every week or so... I think it's too much effort, I'm considering giving up on toner alltogether.

WHERE are my pores?! Seriously, it's that good. This purifies your face like nothing else and instead of making it red you're left with a calm, toned complexion. Reduces rosacea, acne scars and dries blemishes away. Blackheads, white heads-gone. Amazing even after one use. Your skin will feel sooo soft and smooth. I find aspirin works better than generic cause it dissolves easier but both deliver identical results (same ingredients). Try this.

I ran to try this the first day I read about it. I love, love, love the aspirin mask. The toner doesn't work because it's too messy. You will probably just get white bits all over your face and dry skin. Just stick with the aspirin mask because that is a miracle worker!

I've been using this mask now for a couple of weeks and I'm loving how smooth my skin is getting. The gross blackheads on my nose are getting smaller and smaller. I am also doing the Aspirin mask 2 times a week and my skin is doing GREAT! Love the feel of it! My pimples are lessening and the redness of the pimples goes away a lot quicker with this aspirin mask and toner! So glad I stumbled across this and MUA!

A great, less messy replacement for the aspirin mask. I mix according to the directions, shake each time, and pour onto a cotton pad and swipe on with the reverse side. It keeps aspirin chunks off my face and I don't have to deal with straining. It's also nice if I want to spot treat a pimple because I can use a cotton swab to scoop up the aspirin chunks and dot them on the problem spot.

Using this toner morning and night for almost two weeks has been doing wonderful things for my skin, mostly helping to clear up spots and clogged pores. I've made a version with water and one with witch hazel. Both work well, but the water version is giving me better results (for now). Having tried both, I'm of the (unpopular) opinion that uncoated aspirin work better than coated. Using this toner before an antibacterial product (I use tea tree oil) is a great idea. Will continue to make this. Update: I discontinued this in early October, it is good but I lost patience with this as it wasn't working as fast as I'd like and I'm also very fickle. Will probably use this again in the future though.

I have used this aspirin toner for a while with good results, but after I started putting on a layer of Proactiv repairing lotion on top of the toner is when I really started getting results; my skin looks wonderful!
I have slight problem skin that tends to break out when I get stressed, and nothing but this really seems to help.
I make my aspirin toner in a little travel sized bottle bought from Sephora. I throw in about 6 aspirin, a huge squirt or two of aloe vera, and fill up about 3/4 with spring water.
Wonderful and so cheap!

oh, my god. fantastic. i threw the aspirin in a ziploc bag and pulverized it with a rolling pin; strained it out of the mixture using a cone shaped coffee filter. from start to finish it took me about five minutes to make since i had the aloe vera and aspirin just laying around from when i do aspirin masks. my skin looks UNREAL: a blemish on my nose has all but disappeared and is completely devoid of red color; the rest of my face looks even, toned, wonderful.
edit: i've found that microwaving the aspirin with the water on high for a few minutes works great to break up the aspirin; i shook the mixture to emulsify and strained the liquid 3x for a totally gritless toner. added a squirsh of aloe and a dribble of tea tree oil and i'm in business - use it 2x daily now. :) also used the "aspirin sludge" left in the filter from straining out the liquid to make a really nice, superfine aspirin mask.

this is awesome! i'm so happy to have found this. the mask, while nice, had an annoying texture and i don't really like masks. i love toners. i use two now. my pores are non existant now, my zits have been reduced, and my skin is softer. has made my skin a bit drier and more sensitive, but not much.a must try.

AMAZING!!! I was bored one nite so I thought I'd occupy my boredom w/ this product... I added a couple drops of my champhor/menthol stress gel in the mix because I like that tingling sensation to refresh me in the morning. I have to say it's the best toner I've ever used (I've tried so so so many eg. Kiehl's, Shiseido, Lancome, Clinque, Chanel, Dior, Darphin, Sisley, La mer)& none compares to this! It's good for sensitive skin but still clarifies well... & the best part: CHEAPPPPPP!!!

If you want to make this without the bits of aspirin, use BC powders and dissolve in hot water. I microwaved the water until it was hot but not boiling.
ETA: This has started crystalizing every time I make it. The crystals don't usually float but do get stuck to the bottom of the bottle, seemingly permanently.

WOW! i am verrry impressed with this. this has worked better than any acne product that i have tried (well my persciption stuff works pretty well but its takes sooo long for it to really show results) this didnt cost me a thing. well it did but we would be getting asprin anyway. i love everything about it! first off it is so simple and im not putting tons of odd chemicals onto my face that my skin doesnt like. it tightens pores like i have never seen before, it makes my skin smooth and the acne scars are looking less visible already! and its not like i spent 100 dollars on a facial either. it doesnt irritate my skin one bit. blows away any other mask i have ever tried. definetly a new must in my skincare regimin. this has made my day! =)
