This really works, I wash my hair every other day and I tested it out on a really rainy couple of days and i had smooth hair with only using my flat iron around my bangs, amazing!!!!!

I bought this product about a month ago and now it's almost done. I had really high hopes for this product it was sulphate free and not that expensive. I bought it at Walgreens for 7.99 (conditioner and shampoo) and I don't think it was worth the money. I have long (15 inches) thick hair (indian) and I bought this originally because I was using a cheap Suave shampoo that was drying out my hair. Initially I noticed a big change in my hair quality. My hair was a lot softer and I had less fall out. However, now I have the same amount of fall out as I did before I started using the shampoo. Also, I attribute the softness to the Moroccan Argan Oil (organix) i've been using.
Another big turn down was that my hair was a lot frizzier. I had lots of flyaways and my hair just looks messy. I've never really had a problem with that before.
I noticed a few people saying that they didn't like the smell however, I prefer this to the other shampoos in this line.. it's the only reason I bought it.
Lastly, a comment on the packaging, if you're not strong when the shampoo gets down to the bottom your'e gonna have a real hard time getting this product out. Think toothpaste tube that you can't fold over. Extremely annoying.

Though I don't love the smell, I find it lathers and cleans much better than the EverStrong Bodify shampoo I also have, and combined with a conditioner with argan oil (I use Live Clean's) it really does tame frizz without weighing down the hair. I wouldn't use the line's leave-in cream unless you like the smell of the rest, as it's the same masculine aftershave scent (works well though) - but the scent of the shampoo can be covered by most conditioner I've used with it. I'm not sure if I'd get it again though just because of the smell, and it's not my favorite shampoo simply for cleansing ability either (I've found many more effective that also don't strip/fade hair/color) - as long as you use a good argan oil or silicone product (conditioner, serum, etc), you'll still get great smoothing results.
EDIT 6/25/11: Realized that the sodium hydroxide (diluted lye) in this and other products was drying out my hair (it's stopped breaking off since I ceased using products with it), not to mention that getting it in your eyes can blind you (a risk I'm not willing to take with shampoo/conditioner).

This stuff was awful. I wanted to like it because it smelled really good and I liked their EverSmooth shampoo. I used it twice but my hair just didn't get clean. It was gunky and built up after using this. Was returned to Walgreens.

I thought I'd give this a try as Im now only using Sulfate-Free shampoos. Normally, I only use Salon shampoos as my hair is fussy, but I wanted to give drugstore shampoos a chance, since this is sulfate free. I really wanted to like this as the packaging is catchy, the ads with JLO are flashy and her hair looks great. The shampoo itself isnt terrible but as I was trying to run it through my hair, it felt like it refused to sink in and wasnt getting into my scalp at all. I had to use more and more, until it started to make my wet hair feel tangled and crunchy. I couldnt get my hair clean for the life of me. Let me also say that my hair is very limp/fine/has a tendency to get very greasy and I only wash it every 3 days. Finally, I did a THIRD shampoo with my normal Alterna shampoo...finally it felt clean! So, all in all, this shampoo did nothing for me other than cause a nuisance in the shower. It also made my hair feel limp and too slimey, I like my hair alittle lifted and rough as it gives it body. I prefer volumizing shampoos for the most part. I don't feel that its a terrible shampoo if it works for you...as it simply just does not work for me. I will stick to salon brands, even if they are pricey.

I am Asian, with long, straight, dark hair. I have never dyed my hair. About 7 years ago, I use to have long silky/shiney hair. But my hair was never the same again. It was very frizzy and it kept falling it. I still have very thick hair but I've just been noticing that it's falling out a lot more these past 5 years. I did a little research and found that certain ingredients may have caused my hair to fall out.

When I saw the commercial for L'Oreal Ever Sleek Sulfate free hair care, I decided to give it a try. The smell was ok, and it wasn't too strong. I used both the shampoo and conditioner together for about a week and noticed that my hair was falling out less and less, and on top of that, it wasn't as frizzy. The only small thing that wasn't so great was that it didn't make my hair very shiney, but it felt very smooth and looked frizz-free. For the results, I think this product is great and I would buy it again. Wish they had bigger bottles though, for a more reasonable price though.

My hair: long asian hair; damaged from digi-perms; need to shampoo at least every-other-day to avoid oily roots

Packaging: better than the EverStrong line which seemed to have too much air in the tubes making the products difficult to dispense; easily dispenses product

Fragrance: not too floral; more of a clean, herbal scent without being too granola-y

Lather: cushiony, easily building foam

Cleansing: cleans hair better than the EverStrong, but leaves hair feeling rough and tangled; def need conditioner after this shampoo

In general, I liked this at first because it seemed to clean well, but my hair feels so horrible after shampooing and it gets so tangled just from shampooing! I also get an oily scalp by the next morning. I would return this if I could but Target no longer accepts returns on used products... *sigh*

Hate to be the Negative Nellie of the reviewers :(

I was excited to try this because the other "Ever-" lines usually get good reviews and this one was for frizzy hair that contained no silicone.

The smell is okay; it's a lot like the L'Oreal Vive Pro Smooth for coarse/really dry hair. The shampoo came out a pearly white, which made me nervous because of lack of cleaning properties. First wash (I've been double washing my hair recently) there were not many suds, but I didn't mind. But then when I went to wash my hair out, it felt rough and tangly. This made the shampoo hard to rinse out. The second wash didn't do anything better (or worse).

I was really unhappy after washing my hair, and even more when I got out of the shower and saw that the shampoo & conditioner combo seemed to frizz out my curls. I returned it instantly.

I have frizzy, 3a/b curls for reference.

This is an excellent drugstore product. I'm always surprised by how sensitive some people's skin/scalps are (see below), but if you are sensitive maybe you should think twice about any product out there. My HG shampoo/cond combo is Alterna Caviar Moisturizing but I am in school and not working so I cannot afford that right now. This is a great 2nd place for me - and at only $6 you can't go wrong. I have been using some version of the EverSleek, EverPure or EverStrong for the past year and it never builds up on my hair (which tends to be dry since it is highlighted) and never leaves it stripped. If you are concerned, buy it and try it from a retailer that accepts used returns. Wal-Mart, Walgreens and Target come to mind...

I was sent a sulfate free shampoo from a Sundance gift bag last year, and I hated it. I hated it more than any shampoo I've ever used. It felt like I had been swimming in the ocean all day and didn't wash my hair, but all I did was use that shampoo. So, I had some worries about this product. I am so happy with the results combined with the conditioner. My hair doesn't feel stripped or squeaky after using it, it just feels soft and clean. If you've been unhappy with Loreal's other sulfate free lines, then forget those and try this one. I've also used the Hydra Gloss for very dry hair, on days that the Winter was so harsh on my hair. If you need eve more than this one can provide, then try that one. I am sure this will make most people happy.

Love this product! I have keratin treated hair so I have to use sulfate free and this makes my hair so shiny and soft and definitely sleek. The only downside is that I feel like by the second day I HAVE to wash it because it feels a little greasy, not noticeable at all but i can feel it. I have thick hair and usually can last a little longer without washing it but with this I feel like I can't wait any longer. Otherwise this is a fabulous product!

I've been using this for about a week now and I really like it. I just purchased the matching conditioner (Target was out of it last week), so I haven't tried it yet. The shampoo is so moisturizing, it detangles my hair before conditioner! It smells nice, lathers well and seems to make my hair very shiny and so soft. I have highlighted blonde hair that I alternate wearing it curly and blowing it out straight. I'm excited to try it with the conditioner - I will update after I've been using it for awhile.

I don't write reviews very often but this shampoo & conditioner are pure magic. My hair is very fine but I have tons of it & it's straight but I get lots of waves underneath. So it's either waaaay too fluffy & full, or greasy & weighed down with every other product I have used. First off this stuff smells like heaven & the scent lingers. It cuts my drying time, takes out the frizz & flyaways, & tames the wavy texure underneath. My hair is super soft, not at all frizzy & it looks very clean. It looks great the next day also. I will never be without this stuff.

I came across this at my local Walgreens store. I was intending on buying my Nexxus Sleektress shampoo but the store had run out. Thank goodness they did! (I even saved a few $$) This stuff is wonderful! The pretty metallic packaging was what caught my eye. Next was the fact that it is sulfate, silicone and paraben free. My scalp gets irritated easily from harsh shampoos.

My hair looks clean--like it's meant to look. (Yay! A good hair day!!) It styled easily and like the bottle says, is frizz-free. It didn't weigh my hair down. I was a little skeptical about the oils in this product, but they must have been just the thing my hair needed.

Another feature I loved was the scent and it stayed for some time. I used the matching conditioner, as well, and left in in for a few minutes. My hair gets pretty dry with only slight frizz.

This is my new fave!!

Loved this shampoo. I've used it three or four times already. I've tried several different sulfate-free shampoos in the past, including Pureology, Kiehl's, Wen, as well as the Everpure and Everstrong lines. This is by far my favorite. I found that some sulfate-free shampoos can be a little drying and some don't seem to clean so well. This shampoo was not drying (although I did use the matching conditioner) and it cleansed very well. Paired with the conditioner, my hair was soft, smooth and was very easy to style. I also did not feel that my hair was weighed down. My hair, however, is very thick, straight and somewhat coarse. This line may weigh down fine hair. Would definitely repurchase.

I have been using the John Frieda Smooth Start shampoo and like it fine enough. The only thing it is lacking is better cleansing, but it helps to smooth really great. I'll compare EverSleek to this, since it's supposed to do essentially the same thing.

I received a tube of this EverSleek to try as part of a product testing panel, and I LOVE it! I'd say that it probably works about the same as far as smoothing (compared to the John Frieda), but it smells wonderful and it actually cleanses great!!! Price is reasonable (and coupons/sales seem to be always gonig on somewhere). I will definitely repurchase this!
