This is suppose to be a pore perfecting primer instead it extenuates my pores showing my foundation and making my face appear dry.

After years of loving the Urban Decay primer potion for eyes I was sorely disapointed by this face primer. There are two version pore correcting and illuminating. Since I have oily skin with pores that tend to soak up foundation I went for the pore perfecting version. When I got it home I was really annoyed to discover it was only a silicone based primer similar to many of the other ones on the market like SmashBox etc. I tried it anyway but it didn't really do anything for me or my foundation. I tried it under a couple of different foundations and found it made no difference, did not stop oil or hide my pores. Silicone based primers do make your skin FEEL smooth or softer but they really don't mask pores and after a short time pores become visible and oil is prominent. I actually think they make it worse by mixing with the sebum and causing foundation to congeal and shift. If you have dry skin it might work for you. Otherwise it's totally pointless.

So I've been using this primer since UD had their last F&F sale, and with the sale, I thought it'd be good if I got this primer, so I did. And this is the only primer I've ever tried; I do have a sample of the Smashbox Photo Finish, but I haven't tried that yet.
I've been using this everytime I do my makeup, except on the days I'm not gonna be wearing my makeup for very long (i.e. hour long church, short trips to the store, etc.).
This works pretty well for me, it keeps my oils at bay for a good 4 hrs at most before I had to use oil blotting sheets, which I would have to use about 3 or 4 (which is how many I would've normally used w/o the primer, after about an hour and a half or two hours). I've recently tested that I won't get as oily as fast if i use a moisturizer underneath the primer and my makeup.
This also keeps my makeup on pretty well. After having my makeup on for about 6-7 hours, I would use a makeup remover wipe (store brand: Navy Exchange brand) and I could tell that my makeup was on still pretty well by how much came off and just how good my makeup looked before removing it.
Now, as for reducing the look of my pores, I'm not quite sure it does that because I don't really pay attention to that part of the primer, but it does make my skin feeling smooth. Personally, I don't really care if this reduces my pores, because my Studio Fix Powder Foundation and my Revlon Blemish Concealer does that for me. But I do think this reduces them, but not completely dimishes them.
The packaging is great! Much more resourceful than the UDPP, which UD should make it into this packaging.
So, overall, I personally think that this is a good primer for me. It does keep my oils at bay for a good amount of time. Keeps my makeup on for a pretty long time. Makes my skin feeling smooth. Hasn't broken me out. I would repurchase this primer when I run low.
The reason I gave this a 4 is it doesn't completely control my oils for as long as it keeps my makeup on.

Awwww I so love the way this primer filled in my pores! BUT! It broke me out like a MoFo!!!! I mean huge cystic acne spots. Yes, it does have the consistency of Elmer's glue. Very thick and goes on very pale so it wouldn't favor people who are of darker skintones. It did not control the usual oilies like I wish it would but if you are not acne prone and have enlarged pores then yes I would recommend this but if you have sensitive, acne prone, oily skin like mine, then beware!

I love Urban Decay products, so I literally squealed when I saw this!
I recieved a large sample from Sephora, and I am still not done with it.
I love how easy it is to aplly out of the tube, but my main complaint would be the texture and smell. The smell is ok, but not great...the texture is like wiping Elmer's School glue on my face. It does leave my face kind of "white/ghastly" looking, so obviously I would not wear this alone. But aside from that, it really does work wonderfully! It helps my makeup stay put all day and my oil is not as bad. I would buy this as an alternate to my Too Faced Pore Primer, and use it equally as much!

Terrible. Absolutely no difference in my pores. And "dries down to a powder finish" hah! Never dried down on me, stayed gluey forever. I was greasy with big crater pores. If you've got large pores get yourself some Clinique or the CdP. Both work terrific for filling them in. I am in total awe that a great brand like UD came out with such a lousy product. Can't believe anyone in R&D greenlighted this as it does nothing it claims and actually makes your m/u look worse. Back to Sephora it goes.

It takes a lot to cause my skin to breakout, however this stuff did it in less than a week. I was in the market for a primer that would diminish my pores and reduce the shine that I get on my forehead, nose and chin. It did nothing for my pores, or shine and to make matters worse the areas I needed it for the most ended up with big attention grabbing zits on an otherwise smooth clear complexion. Now I have to pull out all of the creams and potions I had long ago put away. I am glad I asked for a sample from Sephora, this saves a lot of headache. I had such high hopes for this product too.

I am absolutely loving this primer. I does a pretty good job at smoothing out my pore situation, not perfect but the best i have used so far. However, I don't think it does a darn thing to keep your foundation on any longer. For that reason it loses a lippie.
As others have stated it does remind me a bit of elmers glue. I only use a pea sized amount, warm it with my fingers a bit then pat on and smooth out. I actually did not realize how much this worked until I skipped it when I was in a hurry one day. I caught a look in the mirror later that day and thought to myself, what the heck happened. Then i remembered i had skipped that step today. I definitely won't be doing that again!!

I first got this as a sample from Sephora and I loved it so much, I bought a full-size bottle. This does diminish my pores and fine lines and keeps my makeup on through our lovely triple-digit summer temps we get here. Unlike with SmashBox primer, I did not sweat my makeup off with UD.
If one is not careful, this WILL give a kabuki/Elmer's Glue look. I found that 1) warming it a bit on my fingers and 2) applying the smallest amount possible, made all the difference. Less is more with this primer. You can always go back and apply more primer where you need it.

I bought this primer in a set of all of Urban Decay primers. This is my second favorite thing out of the set (with Urban Decay Primer Potion being the first!). I have very fair, sensitive skin. I'm not acne-prone, but I'm very reaction prone. Products tend to give me a rash, rather than give me breakouts. I have normal/oily skin that tends to get dehydrated. I have medium-sized pores in the middle of my face, that tend to get clogged.
I love this primer! The primer is thick, white, and sort of dry feeling. I have heard it described like glue, and I would agree. I use a pearl sized amount. The primer spreads easily on the face, despite the heavy texture. It creates a smooth surface and is a little mattifying. I feel like my foundation applies better and may even last longer with this primer. I have not experienced any sensitivity or breakouts with this product after 10 days of constant 12-hour day use. I am now using this as my primer of choice...I have also used Bare Escentuals Prime Time (heavily silicone based, my favorite with powder foundations, MAC Prep+Prime 50 (my favorite for days when I need a little more oil control), MUFE HD (ehh, not really a fan), Laura Gellar Spackle (not a fan, AT ALL), Smashbox Photofinish and Light (made me an oily mess), and various drugstore varieties. This is my new favorite out of the bunch for everyday use!

I am not feeling this primer at all! I purchased it because of all the good reviews I read about it and because I love their eye shadow primer potion, but what a big disappointment. It claims to "minimize the look of pores and fine lines to deliver a soft-matte, airbrushed complexions-without the heavy, greasy feel associated with face primers." It did not minimize the look of my pores or fine lines, it did not give me an airbrushed look, instead it gave me a streaky mess when I used it with my liquid foundation. However, it did not feel heavy or greasy. They got one thing right, BUT it does leave a white cast on your face, no bueno.

At first I didn't think this did anything for me, but I started applying it again just to use up the sample I had, and now I think it's great! I have tried many primers and so far this is the only one that actually does something. It's not a miracle worker which is why I took a lipstick off, but I can say that it really helps my skin stay shine-free for longer (which is impressive considering how oily my skin is) and makes my pores less noticeable - it doesn't make me look airbrushed, but it's definitely an improvement. At last, a primer that works!

HG PRIMER! FINALLY! i love this stuff. i got a deluxe sample from sephora and fell in love immediately, and i placed an order for the full size as soon as i got the email that it was available and it should be here in a couple of days. i am so excited!
this primer both brightens my skin beautifully and it fills in my pores. i have relatively large pores and some scarring, i have been using clinique's instant pore perfector for a few years but this actually works better, and it's all in one step. it comes out of the tube a white color with like a pinky lavender iridescence, and under foundation it really brightens the skin and makes it look healthy.
i don't really have acne prone skin in the first place, but this hasn't broken me out at all and it keeps oil at bay. i still need to blot, but that's because i live in florida with the humidity and i don't think anyone here doesn't need to blot occasionally. what i mainly like it for is the fact that it fills in my pores, my makeup applies really nicely over it, and it keeps my makeup on all day long. love, love, love this stuff.

I've been using a sample of this for the last couple of weeks, and I liked it enough to buy the full size today. This is the best primer I've tried, out of Monistat, Perricone (skin smoothing serum), and Smashbox. It has a different texture than the rest of those... it basically looks and feels like Elmer's Glue, but it dries to a softly waxy, powdery finish (not in a bad way). I must emphasize that you only need a TINY amount of this well spread out on your skin or it will feel too heavy and waxy.
~
First of all, I have oily, acne-prone skin with large pores. This primer gives a soft matte finish, fills in pores, and help keep my foundation from melting (everywhere except my nose). A little bit goes a long way, and I just apply it to my problem areas - forehead, nose, my cheeks on each side of my nose, and my chin. Even before I apply my foundation, there's a soft focus effect happening where my pores are blurred out. When I finished applying my foundation, my skin looks damn near perfect. And it doesn't break me out!
~
Unfortunately this has not made my foundation last on my nose, but I have the oily nose from hell during the summer and the only thing that helps is powder. Otherwise, I think this is my perfect primer.

Surprisingly, this has a 5/5 rating on Sephora.com. I received a sample of this primer with my last Sephora order, and I must say, I am thoroughly unimpressed. The feeling is very waxy, and it makes your skin look white after applying it. It feels like more of a lotion or cream than other primers I have used. I didn't notice nearly as much difference in making my skin smoother and pores less noticeable as Monistat Anti-Chafing Powder Gel. As far as how it made my makeup look and how long it made it last, this product failed miserably in both departments. If you are going to use this at all, only use it if your skin is very dry and it is winter time. During the summer, this is just a greasy, messy waste. Monistat ACPG is still the best primer I have tried. You can get at least 4 tubes of that for the price of one tube of this Urban Decay product. What a let-down.
