I bought this becuase black and silver are my school colors and I needed eye shadow for homecoming. I had heard good things about HiP so I bought this and a jelly balm. I am SO happy I did. The two colors are INSANELY pigmented, when I first swatched it, I swear the silver looked wet. It was very surprising. The black is really pigmented too, and both colors work well together and are very easilt blended. Love them!

This is such a staple. If you love smokey eyes, you MUST have this.
I was looking for something fun for the holidays, eyeshadow-wise and stumbled on this duo and just fell in love.
The silver in this duo looks like aluminum foil - it's THAT shimmery. However, it's really soft and blends well. It's such a pretty, TRUE silver.
The black is also a really TRUE black with a little shimmer, but not nearly as metallic as the silver. This duo is perfect. I threw it in my purse and if I'm going out last minute, this makes the perfect winter smokey eye.
You MUST try this duo!

This is an awesome eyeshadow duo for going out. The metallic silver and sparkly black are so nice together. They blended easily as well. They will be great to pair with other colors as well. I can't wait to try the silver with a navy blue. HIP shadows are good quality with good color payoff, especially for a drugstore brand. Would definitely purchase again.

I'd call the dark side black, not charcoal. It has silver microglitter in it. So pretty! The metallic side is hyper-metallic, to the point I doubt I can even wear it without looking like a robot. But I love it, plus it was BOGOF time at Walgreens. I also like the mirror on the flip side. I'll probably buy all five colors.

Got this for a BOGO today so I got this and Gunmetal which is a light and dark green duo with alot of pigment and shimmer! Both colors work great with MAC'S Greensmoke.
Okay about the Platinum duo.....has alot of shimmer and sparkle to it.I could live without the glitter, but there is not alot of fall out with this eyeshadow so I won't complain too much. The lighter shade is GREAT for a highlighter and for blending with any color eyeshadow. The darker shade is not a very rich black, but a muted black with glitter.I already have black eyeshadows that look alot like this one,but it blends really smooth.I think the packaging is a joke!the flip side with the teeny tiny mirror is useless and who ever uses the sponge applicators anyway?!It just makes the eyeshadow bulky and take up more space than it needs to,but over all I like the metallic eyeshadows.I would never say they are as good as MAC,but for a drug store makeup it rocks!

Very impressed with this duo. Very highly pigmented. Lasted about 6 hours in the heat. Beautiful dark charcoal with a hint of shimmer. Stays essentially where you put it. The silver color in this scares me - I don't look particularly good in light grey and this is no exception. Also I find I have difficulty opening the package. The mirror and spare applicator isn't a problem. Getting to the shadow, however takes some work. That may be an operator error more than anything. I would buy this again for the dark charcoal - but it's going to take me a long time to get through this palette.

True metallic silver & deep charcoal/black w/ silver shimmer. This duo is beautiful to add to a smoky look. The silver side is a bright, pigmented silver. The charcoal/black is a bit sheerer, but is easily layered to get a deeper color. These duos are wonderful at any price, but especially amazing at only $6.99 per duo.

OMG! WOW! I was totally impressed with this duo. I purchased it during a BOGOF. They normally retail for $6.99USD.
I have been collecting silvers and black e/s lately and this fit the bill perfectly. One side is TRUE silver e/s with metallic shimmer and the black side has silver shimmer. Beautiful and unfortunately the pictures cannot pic up the metallic quality of it.
The other reg duos that I have used can be hit or miss and the mattes are certainly (in general) a MISS. But I must say this duo is certainly a HIT. For anyone looking for a cheap but highly pigmented silver/black duo - Look no further.
The e/s is softer than I thought they would be but very little fallout for being a metallic e/s. And the fallout was easy to remove without having to get out the tape or even a brush.
First the silver side : while using a base (NYX jumbo pencil in Cottage Cheese), the silver side was beautiful and easy to apply using small patting motions. WIthout a base it was a little more sheer but still held some metallic qualities. It blended really well with the black e/s.
The Black side : I used this in the crease with my blending brush without a base. It blended beautifully and effortlessly. I didnt get any rigid or harsh lines. But a beautiful black to gray (from the blending into the silver) color. I would love to try a smoky eye over MAC Sharkskin shadestick.
Overall I feel that this duo is a must have for anyone looking for a great nightout look. I am half asian medium complexion with yellow undertones (brown eyes and hair) but feel any warm or neutral toned gal can pull this off.
this look is clearly OTT but I thought it represented the colors very well.
