i got a sample of this and i have to say it is amazing and i will definitely be buying it when it gets a pump (haha)!
my skin is good already and i dont like foundations which cake your skin or look too obvious (like mac moistureblend eurgh), this also worked really well on my dry(ish) skin and left it feeling so smooth and silky! it also looks good in photographs as it reflects the camera flash beautifully!
also its doesn't make your skin look greasy because its so lightweight!
i wear siberian and its the perfect colour for fair skinned people who aren't paper white! X

OK, first I have to say something to all of those who gave this product a bad rating because it doesn't offer enough coverage - HELLO!!!!! It's supposed to be SHEER! It's even called SHEER Glow foundation. So how does this happen that you buy a SHEER foundation, try it on, and then are SHOCKED because it's ... GASP ... SHEER!
Anyway, I liked this product. I was looking for a sheer foundation to wear for eveings out because my skin is pretty even and during the day I just wear powder.
This product gives a nice glow and even coverage.
I recommend it to anyone looking for a SHEER foundation and not a full coverage one.

I've used diorglow and lancome for the past couple of years. Definitely LOVING Nars sheer glow compared to these foundations.
It's not a heavy coverage, and that's what I love about it. There's still a little of my natural skin showing through, so it doesn't look like a chalky/funky mask.
The packaging could be better. A pump would be nice...it's just an open bottle top, and the product could just pour out if you're not careful
Name suits it perfectly...as it does give a "sheer glow".
I will be using this foundation from now on (or until something even better comes my way..haha)

I don't understand the high reviews for this product! I have combination skin and thought I could get some decent coverage...boy was I wrong. The other reviewers were right, you can build coverage, but it just turns really cakey and nasty. I thought it might've been just me so I tested it again when my skin was perfectly clear, but had the same results. I tried using a foundation brush, sponge, AND stippling brush (not all at once). NOTHING LOOKS GOOD! I also don't like how there isn't a pump. I know it's easily remedied with a q-tip, but I don't like it. I'd give it zero stars if I could

I received a sample (of which I have used for about 2 weeks) of this from sephora after hearing all the great reviews. I was at my palest when I went to get matched and Ceylan is perfect! It looks so pasty and yellow but is truly an ideal match. I am IN LOVE with this foundations coverage. I like medium and this is what it is. I don't notice a glow but it's definately not matte. I would say more of a true natural finish. This stuff evens out my skin (redness, damage from tanning that is starting to make it's appearance and the occasional blemish of sorts) and doesn't cake (my husband is very picky about that and obvious looking foundation so he would tell me) It lasts all day and I don't set with powder (don't need to!) So glad I found a fantastic replacement for my Px Virtual Skin.
*EDIT* Finally made it back for a rematch and Santa Fe is THE perfect match for my skin! Loves it! Raising to a full 5 stars as this stuff is definitely deserving IMO.

Not sure I get all the great reviews for this product. I couldn't wait to try it with all the good reviews but was sorely disappointed. It is very sheer coverage and does not cover any bad areas. I guess it would be good if you had young even coverage skin but I found it settled into all my pores and did nothing for imperfections. "glow" or coverage what so ever. Way to expensive and bad packaging.

This grew on me! At first I wasn't sure about the sticky feeling it left on my skin, but if I blend with my fingers, or set it with powder, I get a nice natural finish. I actually prefer the texture now because I can easily just dot it on my face, and blend with fingers without worrying about it looking streaky or patchy. It Glides on and blends easily, doesn't clog my pores or cause breakouts. It evens out my skintone and looks completely natural. I don't have a lot of discoloration or blemishes to hide, so I'm happy with the medium-sheer coverage. I don't notice it clinging to any dry patches, or causing dryness, but I use moisturizer before foundation.

I felt the need to review this because it is truly a wonderful new foundation. There are very few foundations in this world that I like. And I have tried many of them: Priced from $5-$65. Drugstore, department store: You name it. Moving right along: First if all, the packaging leaves much to be desired. The lid is weird (square, but can pop to reveal a round cap hidden underneath), and the bottle has no pump. It's runny, so you have to be careful with that bottle... I don't use very much of this foundation because I do not desire very much coverage. But wow, even the smallest amount does indeed make the skin GLOW! It really seems to float above the skin; giving it that "photo finish" look. It doesn't sink into my pore or cling onto my dry spots like most foundations do. There is a color match for me, which is awesome (was wearing Gobi until now, where the winter color match is Siberia). I apply a couple of dabs on my cheeks, chin, and nose, and blend. I have very dense fringe and don't wear makeup on my forehead. Should my bangs part or whatever may happen, the color match is so good that no one would be able to notice. If you want to make it more moisturizing, mix a bit with a cream. It will act more like a TM this way, but still make your skin look lovely and even. The finish is satin. Coverage is buildable. This is my current foundation (16 December 2009), and it's in my top 3 foundations so far. GA Luminous Silk and Clinique Superbalanced SPF 15 Powder (the one like Smashbox's Halo) are my other favs.

I have officially fallen in love with this foundation. This glides on so beautifully and is so light and glowy. I was matched with Punjab, a light-medium yellow shade.
Pros:
- feels light
- applies smoothly
- glows
Cons:
- $42
- medium coverage
- NO PUMP! :(
But the pros definitely overwhelm the cons.

When I put this on, I noticed that it had really nice buildable, blendable coverage and felt sheer going on. Sadly, I also noticed how it went right to the dry patches on my skin (I'm combination) and made them tighter and much more obviously flaky. Yikes! I think the culprit is all that silicone. It's pretty hard to find liquid foundation without it these days.
Also, it was oddly matte, although my friend noticed more of a "glow" in direct light, so it may have light reflecting particles.
This may be worth a try for younger, oilier skin.

I've been on a quest for a good liquid foundation for winter (powder - and specifically Jane Iredale PurePressed Base - will most likely always be my go-to for summer), and was very excited to try Sheer Glow after reading all of the stellar reviews! It does look good for a couple of hours, but I am sorry to report that this separates on my skin (I think that describes it accurately - it looks like it settles into my pores and also accentuates any dryness) a couple of hours after application no matter how heavily I moisturize or how much primer I layer underneath. I have a slightly oily t-zone that certainly benefited nothing from this, but I am accustomed to that problem and wouldn't have held that against this foundation if it could just look nice on the rest of my face. I don't really need too much coverage, but I do have some visible pores that this did nothing to conceal. I'm disappointed to have to be a dissenting voice on this one, though - it seems to work so wonderfully for many.

I so desperately wanted to love this, since I've had luck with other NARS foundations in the past. In the beginning, I liked it, although I found it to be a little thick and chalky and not at all glowy, like I imagined (someone even asked me if I wear powder, which I don't). Slowly, I started developing super dry, red patches on my face. Not sure if it's because of the makeup or the turn to cold weather, but they got really bad. I switched to my HG, Shiseido two days ago, and my skin is looking much better. Oh well.

amazingly, I like this a lot. Don't like the cap, feels loose all the time, and very overpriced, but no clogs, no breakouts. I've been using this about 3 weeks,I have very reactive skin, so 3 weeks is a good stretch for me! Looks natural, good color match, stays put, washes off easily, really good coverage too. Will update in a month or so.
Clogs and Breakouts:(

Wonderful foundation, looks very natural on the skin, and you don't need a lot for good coverage. Like everyone, I wish it came with a pump. I emailed Nars and they said the pump will be available for purchase in the spring of 2010. Seems like a long time to wait for a pump. But the foundation is fantastic so it's worth the trouble. I'm a MAC nw20 and I wear Deauville. I don't care for "glowy" skin (to me glowy-oily) and this gives a nice finish - not matte but not too shiny. Love it.

i have combination to oily skin (around t-zone) and i bought this based on the good reviews. I got the colour Fiji with the help of the girl at Sephora and thought the colour was a pretty good match.
There were several things that I did not like about this product. First of all it's really runny. It ends up being light (which i like), but because there's no pump for it, i pour some onto the back of my hand and apply with a brush. I find that it runs around my hand and if i apply it with a foundation brush it is rather streaky.
Secondly, i find that my skin doesn't really absorb the foundation. i did not use this with a primer and i found that the foundation kind of slides and glides on my skin if i touch it. For example, i noticed that the foundation sort of gathered on the side of my nose so i tried to rub it with my fingers, with the slightest touch, the foundation around my nose and on the top of my lip moved. i tried my forehead next and it was the same thing. i'm not sure if this makes sense, but the foundation just shifted at my touch. i'll try a base next time to see if it'll help.
third, later in the day i found that the colour of the foundation changed a little bit. it got darker leaving my face looking "dirty".
it doesn't really cover my flaws, just evened out my skin tone. i have large pores around my nose and it kind of emphasized those pores
what i do like is that this goes on pretty light. the coverage i would say is light to medium.
i would probably not buy this product again. I was using shu uemera face architect prior to this and didn't repurchase because I had the wrong shade and used the opportunity to try a different brand. i think my next adventure will be bobbi brown, or Makeup Forever HD

I quite like this product! I have it in deauville. I must say that it wasn't love at first use though. It did take me a while to get the hang of how to apply, and also the weather strangely enough.
When I first bought it, I must have used too much. Applying with fingers was messy and the finish somehow ended up looking like it just sat on the skin in patches. Up close it looked pretty bad and obvious that I had foundation on, definitely not the seamless and flawless finish I was expecting.
But I have found that if you use this foundation with a flat top kabuki (I use everyday minerals flat top kabuki brush) you get a really good and even coverage without any of that oiliness or 'sit on your skin' look. It becomes really natural - I think the beauty of the product is in the application and blending. Fingers method does not work for me even though it is the recommended approach.
And remember to shake well before use. I find that if I don't use it for a few days and forget to shake, what comes out is very runny and oily which makes my face oily after a few hours.
Also the foundation seems to look better as the weather gets colder - I'm not sure if it is because the sheer glow formulation is more moisturising and works better in dryer, colder weather.

I had the same experience as the reviewer below me, underwhelmed. I have deauville, and it is very yellow toned as opposed to the neutral it claims to be. Applied with a foundation brush it looks quite matte actually- no glow in sight, until later when it starts to fade in places and look oily on my normal to dry skin. I was hoping for a smooth luminous finish like others had described. No sale.

Sadly veeeeerrry underwhelmed by this foundation! I bought a DDF moisturizer &it was expired &it had shea butter in it, so I opted to exchange it for this foundation b/c I so badly wanted to try it. The SA at Sephora matched me up with Deauville, which is described as a light balance of pink and yellow. I found it to be more on the yellow side. He tried 3 different colors and they all ended up being too yellow including Deauville, but I settled. He also suggested I apply it with my fingers for best results and that didn't bother me at all. The testers at Sephora had a pump and I was disappointed to see that my bottle did not. I used my usual moisturizer and primer, warmed it up on my fingertips, statrted on my cheeks and blended out. My skin is pretty dry this winter and I found it very difficult to blend. The first layer looked very splotchy and accentuated any dry spots. I applied a bit more to areas that needed it, but it still looked splotchy and now cakey because of the extra layer.
When I was done, I looked in the mirror and was not impressed. For $42 baby I better be thrilled. I immediately took it off and went back to my Revlon CS in Buff and the world made sense again:) I gave it 2 lippies because it wasn't the worst foundation I've tried and it seems to work well for others.

I never wear liquid foundation only because I can never find a colour to suit me (even prescriptives colour match which broke me out). I normally use Laura Mercier Mineral Foundation which I love.
Hearing about the hype for this foundation made me want to go and check it out. I was matched to Punjab and managed to wait & get it on ebay for a cheaper price.
Day 2 - Am loving this. The colour is def a winner for me (for winter) and love how this looks on my skin. I apply with mac 187 brush.

I defintly agree with the previous review. This doenst not melt into the skin very well...it feels like it just sits on top of the skin like a mask. I will probably use the rest of the bottle bc it is not cheap and I don't want to waste it but I will proably mix it with a little of my chanel tinted moisturizer to get it to blend a little better and not look so cakey.
I've tried it with multiple brushes sponges and even my fingers just don't think it is great for very dry skin
