I really like this cleanser. It 's cheap and does what it needs to do. It doesn't always remove all of my makeup, but overall, it leaves my skin pretty clean and it my face never feels tight or dry. I would definitely continue buying this!

Unlike the Purpose cleanser which left my skin feeling very dry and taut, this is a much more suitable & basic cleanser for me. I used prescription topicals so it's IMPERATIVE that I maintain the moisture balance on my face by using a simple cleanser and moisturizer. Although this cleanser is meant for Normal to Oily skin, it hasn't helped my face to feel any less oily HOWEVER it may have helped to do something with the oil on my face every time I use this cleanser because I don't get cysts anymore while using this. The smell is not that great (medicinal cherry, IMO) that I deal with it because it's affordable (~$1/oz) and it works well for me!

I have literally spent a fortune on skincare products claiming to have the latest acne-fighting ingredients, etc, etc. And what do I end up with in the end? Very dry, flaky skin with even worse acne!! So I finally listened to my dermatologist and now I use Cetaphil. Yes, that boring, basic cleanser. However, it leaves my face feeling so soft and clean!! I use this with a retinoid at night (Differin gel) and so far it has been fairly effective at keeping my acne very mild. I am beginning to realize that the less harsh skincare products you use, the better your skin will be. Many people often use too many harsh ingredients that overstimulate and strip our skin of natural oils, leaving it susceptible to even worse acne. So if you are like me and have tried every over-the-counter acne cleanser with no success, give Cetaphil at try.

I would repurchase this if my skin were clear! But right now I'm looking for something a little more intense for my irritating hormonal acne. This cleanser always leaves me feeling clean however, I got it two years ago but used it very rarely as i was impatient with it not really providing a change for my acne. I use it when im about to do a mask or I need to quickly remove makeup because it removes dirt without leaving residue and without drying me up at all. Maybe in a few years we'll meet again, Cetaphil. lol

I decided to give it a try since my cousin had been using it and she really seemed to like it, but after using it a couple of times it irritated my skin really bad, left it dry, and after a couple of days I started getting little red bumps. So yeah, I won't be using it again to say the least...

Skin: Very Oily, Olive, Not Sure
I use this to wash my face at night since my Shiseido Pureness cleanser that I use in the morning, does not cut it. I have to use a cleansing oil to get my sunscreen off, plus the makeup on top of that and then the oil slick that is my face and there is still residue left before I wash my face. The cleaning oil does a great job of breaking it all down and then the Cetaphil removes all traces of everything else since there is nothing left on the cotton pad when using toner afterwards. It does not dry my skin out and it doesn't seem to break it out either. It's cheap, comes in a big bottle and I've never had an issue with the pump dispenser.

I've tried using this product several times because I've heard such good things about it. But after the last time, I'm convinced: it makes me break out. I don't know why! Every time I've used it, even just once, it makes my face break out in little, hard bumps. I always thought it must be something else, but it's definitely this that has been the common factor every time I get those bumps. I never get them otherwise. My skin was getting nice and clear, and then I washed my face the other morning with this, and bumps appeared on my chin and cheek. I was horrified! Never using this again. (My skin's not even very sensitive, don't know why it reacts like this to it.)

As a self proclaimed product junkie, I must say that this is one of the best cleansers out there. I have no acne but I have very oily skin and large pores. I find that the cetaphil does a great job at taking off makeup and leaving your face looking clean. Even with oily skin, after using this cleanser you MUST apply a moisturizer. I use this cleanser in conjunction with its oil free moisturizing cream and my skin always has a dewy fresh look.

I use this every evening when I get home from work to "take the day off." It is such a simple, non-fussy cleanser that I use to remove most of my makeup and to prep my skin for my treatments. I don't think I will ever stop using it. SIDENOTE: I think those who are unhappy with this product are getting the DAILY FACIAL CLEANSER for normal to oily skin mixed up with the GENTLE SKIN CLEANSER formulated for all skin types. The formulations are completely different. The one for oily skin lathers whereas the gentle skin cleanser is a lotion, non-lather consistency.

I bought this because my other face wash contained salicylic acid and it was drying out my skin. This does not dry out my skin at all and it works good. I never tried buying a cleanser without the ingredients that help clear acne but this worked just as good for me. It doesn't remove my make up well so I have to remove it beforehand. This is a really basic cleanser so if you're stuck on which cleanser to buy this is a good choice.. you can't really go wrong with this unless it breaks you out. The next cleanser I'm going to try is Spectro Jel since I heard it's similar to this but better. If I dislike it I'll be repurchasing this.
