Great sunscreen. Non-greasy, absorbs fully, moisturizing, does not beak me out, no white film on face. Great marks from Skin Deep regarding safety and effectiveness of the SPF 30. A bit expensive and for a natural company the amount of packing is absurd, but I will keep buying because it is the best I have found (note: non-waterproof).

I breakout from every sunscreen, but my friend said that I need at least a 30 spf everyday, so I started looking online for organic sunscreens for the face and this was highly recommended.
I love it. It doesn't break me out, it's got a dewy look on the skin and it's non-chemical.
I highly recommend it.

Okay, this is a 3 for SPF and a 5 for day Moisturizer. While this is an absolute joy to use -- natural ingredients, light coconut scent and fluffy texture that doesn't break me out, this is not really a 30 SPF sunscreen. I consider it a great day moisturizer with added sun protection. Compare the consistency of this to any barrier sunscreen of about 30 SPF and there is no way that this is protecting you. Devita has a 50 version of this on Amazon that I will use for summer. Notably, Devita uses zinc and I figured out that this is the reason this has NEVER caused a break out for me. I appreciate this stuff more and more every day. I apply a serum and then use this as my daily moisturizer - so soothing and a perfect for winter sun protection. Note the 50 version is called RX Ultra Solar 50 - 4 oz and about 40$. I compared the main ingredients and they are the same, except this one has MAP, 24% zinc vs 14%, it also has titanium.

This review is for the body block SPF 30, which is almost identical to the moisturizer with spf 30. I don't like jars, they are very unsanitary and the light can damage the antioxidants. The body block comes in a squeeze bottle, and it can be easy to squeeze out too much. But overall, I really like this for my face. My skin doesn't get greasy, and there is no white cast I have to try and rub in. I have gotten a few very small topical zits, but unfortunately I get that with ALL sunscreens. Overall, really great sunscreen!!
ETA: The more I wear this, the more zits I get. I won't be using anymore.

I had high hopes for this one, but there is something in the formulation that does not agree with me. It made my eyes burn like crazy and made my face itch. After a full day of wear I had rash-like bumps in the areas where I experience the itching sensation. It's too bad, because I loved the finish.

I think this stuff is great. It is a moisturising sunscreen but it doesn't break out my sensitive acneprone skin. It is absorbed v quickly and leaves no white cast whatsoever. It's easy to remove too. Because it's so moisturising I'm not sure if this would be the best in summer but I've yet to try that out. I have been using shisedio lotion but as it's winter now my skin is a little dry (around mouth/cheeks but still oily on t zone. Damn combination skin) and this seems to be the perfect fit!
Paraben-free and 100% vegan!
the fact it just says Solar Protective Moisturizer 30 seems a little strange....uno without the 'spf' in front, but I trust this brand and don't worry too much. The ingredients seems pretty good.
It's not the cheapest s/s but I think you get what you pay for, with s/s especially.
It says on the box to keep this away from your eyes so please do. I've had no problem with irritation in that area.
I'm giving this a 5 now as I'm pretty damn sure this is a 'hg' for winter at least...will have to check how it runs in summer time.

I have oily skin that is very sensitive (with rosacea), yet I need to use a moisturizer regularly or I find that my cheeks dry out terribly. I purchased the Devita moisturizer in hopes of finding a sunscreen that wouldn't cause my skin to break out and that wouldn't feel or look oily. (I can safely use Clinique's City Blocker, but it leaves my face very shiny.) I have been using the Devita for about three weeks, and fits my needs well. It is clear once it dries, and it truly moisturizes without leaving an oily feel or appearance. I haven't yet been out in the sun to determine if it is effective as a sunscreen, though.
I wish it were a bit cheaper and in a tube, but I can live with the price and packaging since it meets my primary needs.
Dropped this from 5 lippies to 3. About a week after writing the review above, I started breaking out with little pimples where my rosacea is worst. I had not used any other new products, so I can only assume that the breakout was due to this moisturizer. I am using it only on my neck and chest now. After a few more weeks, I decided to try once again using it on my face, and another breakout. So, it just won't work with my extremely sensitive skin. :(

I don't know where to begin. I recieved this yesterday & put it to the test. Being an avid walker ( 1 1/2 hour walks ) and walking everyday, I need a reliable sunscreen. Yesterday was 70 degrees w/lots of sunshine. After walking, my first inclination was to go to the mirror. My face was flushed and attributed that to my walk. A few hours later, I discovered my face was pink. This morning my face is still alittle pink.
I'm like the rest on here about, Devita's use of the number "30" without the SPF in front of it. It makes me feel uneasy about the effectiveness of the product. Anyway, I like how this absorbs without any greasy feel. I don't like that this does not have an expiration date on the box or jar. The main reason for ordering this is because the Devita website states it contains 14% zinc oxide. SkinDeep Cosmetics Safety Database gives this a good rating for UVA/UVB protection ( strong across the board ). My pink face may not agree w/the protection. It may be good protection as long as its fresh. Without an expiration date - who knows?
I've been using other products that contain lower levels of zinc oxide like, Dr.Denese & Solar Sense and relatively happy. I really, really hate to return items. It could be the case with this Devita sunscreen.
Devita does refund in a 30 day grace period, but does not refund on shipping and handling.

I tried both the jar one and the one in the bottle that is for hands and body but ingredients are mostly the same so for those unhappy with the jar look at the suncreen in the bottle.
On my rosacea, v. sensitive skin, this left a very weird film that almost felt smothering on me. I wore it nonetheless and it wore ok for the 6 hours I had it on but I do need a hefty moisturizer under this for my dryish skin. But I can't use this all of the time because it makes me itch like crazy so something in this disagrees with my rosacea. And like everyone else not sure you can count on the SPF 30.

This is AMAZING! It is very light, non-irritating, all natural ingredients.
My skin has become super sensitive and gets allergic rashes so easily with so many products..
I started looking with products that don't have a long list of ingredients and don't have many chemicals.
I recently found out that the best sunscreen agents are zinc dioxide and titanium dioxide, since they do not deplete the natural skin barrier as chemical sunscreens do.
devita's sunscreen not only contains the "god sunscreen" ingredient (zinc oxide) but it also never gave me any alergic reaction and it makes my skin so incredibly soft!
I love it!

I have oily, sensitive acne-prone skin, and for winter, this is a great alternative to chemical sunscreens. For dry skin, this could be your HG! I use it over a silicone-based vitamin C serum (La Roche Posay) for extra protection against wind chapping. The coconut oil-derived waxes are very moisturizing and soothing, this would also make a great winter hand cream. As others have mentioned, there is no white cast, but I did find this a tad greasy. It took a little longer than my other sunscreens to dry to a finish where I could proceed to the next step in my makeup. I used a silica powder to mattify. For summer, I could see this causing instant breakouts. This product does contain EOs but the levels were so low I couldn't detect them.

UPDATE: Ok, I'm less in-love than I was previously, as this burns the dickens out of my eyes when the lotion comes anywhere near it. Ouch! And that's the area that needs the most moisture and sun protection, as it's the thinnest. Arg. Well, other than that, it's a nice natural spf lotion for the body (but it worries me a bit that it could sting so much--how "natural" could it be?). My face did turn red when I wore it (not sure if from the sun or the irritation of the ss), and it had this plastic-y coating, so I will not be using this again on my face. But I keep the jar in my bag for when my hands get chapped.

Is this a physical sunscreen? I can't believe it, no whitecast, no greasiness?!? Granted I only used it for 2 days, but I am loving it so much I think I am going to give up my HG Sofina SPF for this one.
Only compliant would be it's a little bit hard to find. I have to go to a natural food store that's 45 mins away, but it's well worth it. Only $17 vs $30 online!

After trying tons of Sun Screens over the years without success, I was almost desperate. I thought I could never find one that will not make me break out. I really wanted to like this one!
The first application felt promising, it seemed to be light enough not to make me break out but still moisturizing enough. I was also surprised to see that my slightly oily skin was mattified. This moisturizer spread very well and had an almost air whipped texture, I really loved that! The smell was pleasant and subtle = won’t interfere with other fragrances.
I immediately noticed my skin feeling very smooth and somehow more supple than usually!
However …after a couple of days my skin felt dry and a little flaky, soon after I even broke out. I was a little frustrated at this point but decided to keep trying.
And really, after 1 month my skin normalized…not just that – it improved and became clearer and healthier looking than ever before. I am using my 2nd jar right now (lasted me for 2 mths) and I can not imagine being without it!
My freckles that usually increase in summer stood at the same level, I love my freckles but them increasing just shows the sun is getting to you, so it really blocks the sun well.
I will announce it to be my HOLY GRAIL SUN SCREEN! By far the best product I have ever used, no kidding!
PS: A physical Sun Block does not need reapplication unless you sweat or wash it off! A big +!

I love this product! I have been looking for a combination day time moisturizer/sunscreen for quite awhile. Most facial sunscreens or combo products I have tried feel greasy and/or have a white cast to them. Not this product. It absorbs wonderfully and there is not a white cast that I can detect. Plus this product is paraben free, has very little scent (which I love)
and it does not bother my sensitive skin at all. I think it is a bargain for a high end, natural paraben free product. I love it and can't wait to try the other Devita products.

Holy Grail here. I have very sensitive mature acne prone skin. I am currently using Retin A at night a few times per week. I have trouble with alot of sunscreen ingredients either they break me out or irritate me. This one did neither. Its consistency is a gel-cream which I like alot as it sinks right in. I do layer this over another gel-cream moisturizer (Anna-Lisa Calendula) and a treatment serum as I find the Devita on its own is not enough for moisture. In winter I will layer it over a heavier moisturizer. It is fantastic for layering as it does not ball up or sweat off or cake on. It truly is amazing. I love it.

- contains 14% micronized ZnO(if we believe the label) which is a good protection
- in terms of shine looks and feels like a thin layer of aloe vera gel on face but I wouldn't call it 'matte', it's more like a soft glow
- the greatest achievement is that theres is NO whiteness at all, which actually makes me doubt it contains 14% ZnO. I haven't seen such lack of whiteness in any other SS with high zinc content.
- spreads easily even over beard
- SPF is not certified on the box, they call it "30" not "SPF 30" which raises certain doubts ....
- right after application, there is something in that SS that evaporates and can make your eyes tear, that doesn't sound exactly 'natural cosmetics' to me
- irritates eyes if it migrates, which is a given if you appy on top eyelid, it doesn't sting like chemical sunscreens but makes me blink like crazy when that happens
- zero mattifying power, if your skin gets oily during the day, it won't cover it and you will need to blot
- makes my forehead bumpy (sebatious hyperplasia?)
My biggest grip is its not matte enough nor mattifying face during the day plus the eye irritation so I won't repurchase.

I purchased a Devita sampler kit mainly to try this sunscreen. I immediately LOVED the texture. As other reviewers mentioned, the texture is wonderful. It glides right over the skin, completely absorbs with absolutely no whitening and has a light coconutty scent. It kept my skin well moisturized all day long. Unfortunately, this sunscreen broke me out everyday I used it. I would still recommend giving it a try, just sample first.

Overall, I'm happy with this product. I have always used Oil of Olay Complete SPF15 and liked it. Based on many things I have read however, I wanted to switch to a physical sunscreen, preferably without a lot of silicones and certain other additives. This Devita product satisfies that desire and actually goes on very similarly to the Oil of Olay. It is lightweight, smooth, and doesn't leave a white cast. I'm a little disturbed about not being to verify its SPF properties however (Devita calls it a "30" but NOT "SPF 30" -- they haven't done the testing required to certify its true SPF number). But, I plan to continue to use it.

Great sunscreen, though I;m unsure about a few of the ingredients. This does not break out my skin or cause irritation on my sensitive skin. Would recommend as a good physical sunscreen. I cannot tolerate chemical sunscreens, so this one works well for me. Highly recommend!
Edit: Who knows about the efficacy of this? It says 30, not SPF 30. Also, very rich and started to clog pores and make me breakout. USe it only on my hands now.
