After lemming this for a year, my yearning was finally fulfilled last week. I received this as a gift from my BF, which is wonderful because I probably would never have bought it for myself. When the fragrance is first spritzed, it has an almost masculine feeling to it, because there is such an absence of sweetness. It reminds me of old-fashioned European eau de Cologne. Initially, it is very, very green, and manages to be both fresh and spicy. To me, the most noticeable inital note is vetiver.
However, after it settles on my skin for a few minutes, the scent softens considerably. At this point, it is definitely feminine. I get a sense of musk and perhaps jasmine.
My favorite thing about this fragrance is the juxtaposition of cool freshness with warm softness. I find this combination to be very unique and alluring. I also love the color of the liquid in the bottle: a refreshing-looking cool transparent green. The fragrance lasts a considerable while on my skin, but not so much that I tire of it.

I love this fragranc e- i realise that it is in the pricey end of the market, but it is a signature smell and manages to be opulent and fresh, without the kicker that sometimes comes with chanel of being too heavy or mature for younger women.
I love it - it is my second favourite perfume and one i would recommend to all who like their perfume fresh and light but with staying power.

This is my first Chanel perfume and I must say that I am loving it. It's definitely expensive but the smells lasts all day long for me so I guess it's worth it. My DH described the scent as mature and sexy...Two thumbs up!
Edit: While I'm still loving the perfume, something about the scent of men's cologne that is lingering for a little too long is starting to annoy me a little....will NOT be buying again.

I've tried a good amount of fragrances and next to Versace bright crystals this is by far my favorite. I love the fresh clean scent! it also lasts all day long. Another plus is that even my boyfriend commented how great it smelled the first time I wore it.

I have recently decided that I want a signature scent. I am a not perfume aficionado, in fact, I dislike many perfumes as I am extremely sensitive and they tend to give me headaches and nausea. So after perusing MUA, I decided that I wanted to try Chanel Mademoiselle. At the Chanel counter the SA introduced me to Chance Eau Fraiche and I was immediately drawn to it.
Throughout the day, I thoroughly enjoyed all the changes that the scent went through. In fact there was a point that I couldn't stop smelling my wrist!
I got a sample because I want to make sure that I love it before purchasing and I am excited to try it out tomorrow morning:) So far, I'm loving it. I've never felt excited about a perfume before:)

I have tried this on several occasions but never bought a bottle. It has a lovely green/citrus scent that is not like most Chanel's. I don't even think it really smells like the original chance. The color of the juice is eye catching and I like the overall look of the bottle. I am put off by the price... and how the staying power just is NOT there. If you like this scent I would recommend Miss Dior Cherie L'eau. It is also a "green" scent and lasts much longer than Chance Eau Fraiche. Cheaper too!
EDIT: Finally bought a bottle, and I must say the staying power is MUCH better than when I tested it out. Still fresh in a citrus kind of way, but the dry down is ACTUALLY very similar to the original Chance. I prefer this variety the most of the three that are available. Rating this again, I give it 4.5.... I will have this in my collection for a while. Well executed, makes me feel good, and I get many compliments on this!

Im not typically a perfume gal but Ive been getting more into it as I get older. My fav is Dior Addict 2 but this is a close 2nd. Usually I think Chanel smells too old, like my grandma. However this smells fresh. It still has a signature Chanel sophistication but with a younger twist. It lasts a long time on me and the men seem to love it. Expensive but it is Chanel.

This is the greenest smelling perfume I've ever smelled! I like it, just not for me. My sister wears this and it smells divine on her. It's sophisticated and fresh. It's stong, so a little bit goes a long way. I find that the scent lingers for ages, which is excellent. I am more of a gourmand loving, Vanilla kind of girl, so the greenness of Eau Fraiche is just too sharp an opposition from what I normally wear. But I can still appreciate it because it does smell so lovely. It reminds me of Carnal Flower by Frederic Malle, only minace the faintly sweet coconut note. This one is ALL green.

I adore this perfume. I wanted it for ages, but the price is very high, after having tired it on at the pharmarcy a million times, I decided to just to buy it. One that can be worn night or day. It is more of a summer smell, but could defanitly be a signature scent for all year round. The bottle is simplistic, but the perfume is green colored, so gives it it a bit of a visual appeal. I found most Chanel perfumes are more sphisticated and mature, this one is defanitly one for the younger Chanel fan. Its very fresh, I would have to say one of my best perfumes, and im sure this one is going to be timeless. Shame there is no lotion or body wash though.

Chance Eau Fraiche is a chypre floral fragrance. It still reminds me of a good old men's eau de cologne, which is why I see lot of reviewers point out the masculine notes. This fragrance to me is fresh, dewy, very light and somewhat watery. Here the top notes are citruses and cedar; middle notes are pink pepper, water hyacinth and jasmine; base notes are teak wood, iris, amber, patchouli, vetiver and white musk. It seems like a very perfect fresh unobtrusive fragrance, which I totally enjoy. The lasting power is much better than the one of usual fresh scents, though still not too satisfying. I also like the bottle very much - minimalistic and convenient to carry in a bag. The colour also represents the fragrance's attitude very well. What I don't like is the simplicity of the composition and I personally find this fragrance too tiring to use for a long time and a bit boring. Unfortunately, there's no 30 ml package, which is not good for me. Wouldn't repurchase because I like to change fragrances and I think the bottle would last pretty long.

I love this version of Chance. I've worn Chance since I was in high school, so I was excited to try the Eau Fraiche. It is more casual (if that makes sense) than the original. More refreshing and less sophisticated, so it's better for day time. Has excellent staying power.

A lovely summer interpretation of Chance, a fragrance I frequently wear even though it has the odd effect of making me feel as if I need a shower. This is a personal reaction to chance (I wear the EdP) and in no way indicates that I think Chance smells "dirty." Rather, its thick vanillic patchouli seems to take on an oily texture that I can sense, much in the way certain cosmetic foundations make my face feel a similar lack of breathability.
Eau Fraiche is cooler and has a more watery texture from the very apparent water hyacinth note. This floral is sweet and is offset by a crisp citron that is somewhat toned down in sparkle by light vanilla. EF has a dewiness that makes it an ideal daytime summer scent.
Do not make the mistake of thinking Eau Fraiche is a second-class Chance or even a second-class Chanel. There is a tendency to mark the Chanel frags aimed at a youngish market as somehow inferior, but this is not the case. Eau Fraiche is head and shoulders more sophisticated than Light Blue, and, although breezy and seemingly offhand, is clearly constructed with diligence.
Lightened also here is the patchouli of the original. I prefer this to Chance EdT, which is quite weak and loses some of its profile in the lesser concentration. Eau Fraiche exists as a "pretty" scent, without this descriptor taking on a pejorative connotation. Pretty it is, but it is not tentative. There is still enough jasmine (non-indolic) to please a white-floral lover. The green is sweetly interpreted as is mainly expressed through the citrus and not through grassiness, although there is a sense of freshly cut grass to the composition without an actual note of grass apparent.
Wearing Eau Fraiche is like wearing a halo of sunshine. It won't please the existentialists of the world, but there are enough niche perfumes available to keep everyone happy.

I really like this scent, it feels fresh and crisp and I use it a lot. It does smell a bit masculine, but I like it as it makes the scent a bit more "special." As it's Chanel, it could be a lot cheaper. but on the other hand this perfume is worth the extra cash.

My favorite fragrance, hands down. As others have mentioned, it definitely has a masculine note. It's like the original Chance (which I don't particularly love) mixed with a really, really wonderful fabulously fresh men's cologne. And I mean that in the best possible way. If you've had enough of uber cloying, sweet, girly scents then give this a spritz. I get lots of sophisticated citrus (lemon and orange blossom, kaffir lime), something green, jasmine, and a marine note. Staying power could be better and it is extremely expensive but I find the mood lift it gives me to be well worth it. I choose fragrances for myself and what I like smelling, but the compliments I get with this don't hurt either.
