Surprised this has so many negative reviews! Works great, but there's a learning curve in application technique.
First of all, you can't put this stuff on quickly. It takes a bit of wiggling to maneuver that giant brush to every lash, which I don't mind since it only really takes one coat. To those saying they use three or four coats of this and it doesn't give them enough volume for a dramatic look...either your tube is dried out or you need to wash your face and reevaluate the sheer amount of product on your eyes. That big brush dispenses about twice as much mascara per swipe than any other HE mascara I've tried lately. L'oreal Voluminous is similar in texture and application but doesn't have anywhere near the staying power of LI.
I haven't had any trouble with either flaking or removal - again, if it's flaking then you're probably wearing too much or it's an old tube. Toward the end the product tends to get kind of gunky (but that's all mascaras). My lashes are very coarse though so if you find that yours come out when removing waterproof mascara, it's probably better to use a designated remover.
Not sure if this would hold a curl - my eyelashes are pretty long and really curly so I mostly purchased this for the volume factor. If you're like me and they're so curly that on a humid day they freakishly curl back on themselves, this is a good mascara to try, as it kind of weighs them down and makes a nice gentle curve (sadly, I did not get this crazy curl factor in my hair, which is just as coarse but depressingly straight). Stays put and polished-looking even when it's hot out and the rest of me resembles a sweaty monster.
Also, if you're light-haired I'd recommend the brown. In the winter, my hair is black so the black version looks fine, but when I'm out in the sun it starts to look a little Crazy Mascara Lady when my hair lightens up.
Overall, I'd purchase it again, but I really wish it came in a smaller tube. There's no way I can possibly use this much product before it dries out, not with one swipe per lid per day. So much mascara! This would be HG if I could purchase half the product for half the price.

EDIT: I'm really surprised at all of the negative reviews this has gotten lately! I really, really like this for an everyday look. I have okay lashes, but they can look at bit sparse at times. This adds a tiny hint of volume and length and it separates my lashes extremely well. I've never had it clump. I didn't find that it held my curl at all, but it didnt flake or smear underneath my eyes. I like the orangey-citrus smell a lot, too. I only got the mini travel size (and it was still $10 at Sephora) and I'm glad for that. While this is a good mascara and I really love the effect and will definitely continue to use this until I run out, I maybe wouldn't buy it again simply because it's about $20. It's just too expensive when you consider that there are dozens of drugstore mascaras that are equal quality for a quarter of the price. Although I may buy the sample size again until I can find a DS mascara that gives me the same thick, full look without being clumpy (a major problem I have with a lot of DS mascaras).

This does exactly what I want a mascara to do, multiplies lashes, adds volume and doesn't make my lashes stiff. 2nd best mascara I've ever tried (Buxom Lash is #1). Love!!! <3

Lash Injection is, hands down, my ultimate HG mascara. I have been using it for several years now, and I can honestly say that no other mascara gives me the crazy false eyelash effect that this one does -- not even close. Everyone's lashes are different, but on my own, this really performs.
I have tried myriad mascaras (from drugstore to high end varieties), and I can honestly say that for both length AND volume, Lash Injection remains unparalleled. I have been asked which mascara I use on more than one occasion, and also if I am wearing falsies -- but my eyelashes are not naturally thick or long! If you prefer a more natural look (such as defined, darkened lashes), I would not recommend this. However, if you are like me, and you like very dramatic, noticeable lashes, do give it a try! I love this stuff.
I will say -- many of the common complaints are valid. It does tend to flake if you rub it or if you apply too much -- but on the other hand, as a tubing mascara, it will never run, smear or give you raccoon eyes. It does have an odd scent, but it is not unpleasant -- just unexpected from a mascara. I also have to make sure that the wand is screwed in completely -- otherwise it tends to dry out faster than it usually would. Bottom line, though: I am still using it exclusively after many years, so I have yet to find a better mascara.

I love this mascara so much. It is the only mascara I have ever used that did not leave me with raccoon eyes by late afternoon. The negatives in a lot of the reviews are true. It does clump, so make sure you have a lash comb. It also has a strange odor, but I found it quite pleasant. It flakes a little bit but not much and its easy to just wipe away. In contrast to some other reviewers' experiences, it was very easy for me to remove. I often have trouble removing regular mascaras nevermind waterproof ones, but this one comes off quite easily with an eye makeup remover.

I have this in hot chocolate and have been wearing for 4 days. This is not a good mascara. I would have only given it one lippy, but it didn't run like some mascaras, even though the formula I have is not waterproof. It is also a pretty brown shade, and does not look black. However, it did straighten my curled lashes, it clumped awfully (despite combing it through many times with a lash comb), and it flakes sooooooooooo bad. I looks really pretty for about 2 hours (after spending about 5 minutes applying and then combing out the clumps, and you must work quickly as it dries fast), and then it flakes like all hell. Oh yes, and you can not just wipe off the flakes, no they remain where they fall unless you have eye makeup remover handy AT ALL TIMES.

I like this, it gives a dramatic look, but I do find I need to apply MULTIPLE coats to get the desired look. I usually put on more than one coat for all my mascaras, but this one needs considerably more swipes. Not a dealbreaker though, as i do like the way it looks after.

Wow! Not sure why this mascara gets such awful ratings, I love it! I have it in Hot Chocolate. Other than Voluminous, this is the only mascara I have tried that I don't have to tightline with - it gives me super thick fluttery lashes with 2 (careful) coats that define my eyes in a really natural way. Lovely, not clumpy. The best part - this mascara doesn't smudge during the day yet washes off easily. I mean super easily (as opposed to Voluminous). No need to pull or use a specific cleanser, I just wash my eyes with whichever cleanser I'm using that night and wake up with zero raccoon eyes. Good stuff IMHO.

Crazy flakes and I find the "tubes" really hard to wash off. Makes my eyelashes fall out while trying to get the mascara off!

Hate Hate Hate Hate this. In fact, there aren't enough "hates" to put here to explain how much I don't this product. I like Too Faced, but this mascara stinks (literally and figuratively). I have pretty lashes and this does nothing for me. And just about all mascara's do something for my lashes, even super cheap ones. This is just an awful product.

This is a really hard mascara to use. I'm a sucker for fiber mascara, and have to try all of them. I find that sometimes lash injection looks amazing but more times than not I am scrambling to get clumps out of my eyelashes before it dries. If you are going to spend this much on a mascara there are better and easier options.

I have used Lash injection on/off for several years. Typically I get it as a mini in a kit and I got the full size with the Look of Love bag. For me, this is an average mascara. I find it a bit on the dry side and if I am not careful , it will clump up on my lashes. I would never buy it by itself. I actually prefer either Other mascaras over this but I try to use it up. It does make my lashes a bit thicker looking, but my issue with my own lashes is that they are not long enough and are fairly light in color. This mascara is ok for casual days but there is nothing "Wow" about it at all. I much prefer Telescopic or Dior.

I'm asian w/short and sparse lashes. My previous HG's were Physician's Formula Cream Mascara and MF 2000 Calorie. Been using Full and Soft for a year and I like the fullness it gives but no length. Got a mini of Lash Injection and it worked pretty good. Got the full size at Ulta w/20% coupon and it is EXCELLENT! Full, long and curled lashes w/no clumps or flakes. It gives me a false lash look with 3 coats. Thanks to another MAU reviewer for her technique to applying:
wiggle a few times at base of lashes, then roll up (I also sweep up). Make sure u apply multiple coats before ea coat dries to avoid flaking and clumping. Removing is easy too-I gently massage my lashes in the shower w/face cleaner and the tubes slide right off. Def worth the high price tag!
EDIT: dries out fast which makes application clumpy. Probably won't repurchase.
EDIT: found that when it's dried out, i only need 2 coats. May repurchase.

I did not like this mascara at all. The consistency was way too thick and dry, it flaked like crazy and it had funny scent which really bothered me. I will never repurchase this product.

An impulse purchase - two SA's talked me into this one and like a fool I bought it knowing the chances of it being even marginally decent were nonexistent and sure enough! Got it home and the first time I tried to use it found it was dry and cakey with almost no actual mascara transferring to my lashes. That which did could hardly be seen and certainly didn't help either volumize or lengthen my lashes. Wow. Avoid this at all cost. Way too expensive and simply a bad product!

Love it! Doesn't smudge, makes my lashes super thick and long. 28.00 bucks is pretty $$ though.

HG!! Ive been looking for this mascara all my life! You can wear one coat for a more natural daytime look but can build it up to almost falsies-proportions with a few coats if you do it right. There are some cons but they are so minor that I still give this product a 5. It does flake a little (nothing a quick wipe cant take care of) and you should have a lash comb and wet qtip ready to take care of any clumps. I find this gets best results with the "wiggle the brush from side to side method" rather than just straight stroke. It holds up to long nightshifts and unexpected downpours. I never have racoon eyes and I feel like it doesnt damage my lashes and its easy to remove ( warm water and a little pressure take it off so easy). Its really fantastic. I would recommend any day. Yes, its outrageously expensive for mascara but Id rather spend the money on one product that works rather than try a jillion cheaper ones that dont. I hope they never ever discontinue this one!

I have to say, this is the ONLY mascara i've purchased more than once. Ever. I try others but eventually always return to this one. It gives me amazing volume and length with one sweep, and it's amazingly easy to take it off. Smells funny, yes, but I don't really mind it.

Tried this years ago.
Builds weird plastic around your lashes but worst partů?!
FULL ALLERGIC REACTION!
Never wore this mascara in public! It made my eyes water like I was crying and sneeze like hell!
Also must mention this is NOT waterproof! So when my eyes watered the plastic fibers slithered off my lashes all over my face!!! How attractive!!!

As a professional makeup artist , I was not impressed by this mascara. The packaging is more exciting then the actual results and brush is way to big. I felt that it was easy to clump and oh ya, for those who are not to keen on smells it has a slight fragrance.
