This product leaves hair beautifully smooth..but I must stress that I use this as a conditioner ONLY. It does not clean the gel, dandruff and grease off my hair like regular shampoo does. The first time using it, my hair was still dirty. Like I could feel gel and see flakes. But it felt amazingly soft. So I figured out that this is a great product to use as a conditioner only, or an in-between-washes rinse.

I got a sample of this to try. I followed the directions to a T, scrubbed and scrubbed and rinsed and rinsed, and my hair still felt limp and greasy and gross after I dried it. I use sulfate-free products normally, so I'll just go back to them and toss this I think.

I LOVE WEN! My hair was SUPER damaged after a perm and repeated coloring. Even after 3 years of growing out and trimming regularly, my hair wasn't the same.
Saw the WEN product on QVC and was horrified at the amount of money it cost and worried that the results wouldn't justify it. I first tried Sally Beauty's knock off product, Hair One, which dried out and damaged my hair and caused lots of breakage (See my other review for more details) and then switched to more standard conditioner washing with silicone-free conditioners.
Then, my boyfriend's mom gave me WEN as a birthday gift. I gotta tell you, I'm in love. My hair is moisturized, sleek, shiny, and unlike a lot of reviewers, I don't get the greasiness they speak of. I can go 2-3 days between washes. It's certainly a lot more work in the shower than standard shampoos and conditioners, but it's SO worth it. It does have one silicone- amodimethicone in the ingredient list, but I think that's one of the water-soluble silicones. The packaging gets to be a pain because when you get to the end of the bottle the pump stops working and you find yourself banging the bottle on your hand trying to get the last of the product out...but for me that's a small price to pay for amazing hair.
I will say that conditioner washing with Suave or V05 products is certainly a cheaper alternative at about $1 a bottle, and it's almost as effective. But I find that those products tend to leave my hair limper and feeling much more fine than WEN does. With WEN my hair is manageable, soft and feels thicker to the touch.
Waiting on a shipment of the new Winter scent now. Can't wait!

This isnt a horrible product but its deffinitly NOT worth the price for the ammount you have to use to get your hair/ scalp clean. first off the directions on the bottle are rediculous you do not need that many pumps, i think it depends more on your hairs type and texture if you have fine straight hair i wouldnt recomend cowashing because straight hair tends to get oily faster than curly hair like mine does. when i wash my hair with this its great if i leave it naturally curly. but if i use this and blow dry my hair straight it will be super greasy then next day. ABBA s/cconditioners have the same exact ingredients are are half the price, plus you get bigger bottles (: so all in all i wouldnt buy it again just because theres better alternatives out there

I've been using Wen Sweet Almond Mint Cleansing Conditioner for almost 3 months now and I absolutely love it! My hair feels amazing and smooth. I had bleach blonde hair in the beginning of october which made my hair an unhealthy mess. But after using Wen and dyeing my hair back to a deep brown, my hair has become stronger and looks and feels healthier. I do use a regular shampoo and condidtioner just because after a while it feels like I'm just washing my hair with conditioner. But overalI, I love this product. Hate the price/love Wen!
**************************UPDATE****************************
Wen does make my hair feel great, but I've returned to the normal shampoo and conditioner system. And I do feel like it's totally over-rated. You CAN get great hair without Wen.

I have been curious about Wen for a while and I saw it on QVC for a set of 5 for $100. I figured if I didn't like it I could give it away as Christmas presents. :) Turns out I love this stuff. My hair is fine and really damaged and this makes it look great and feel soft. It hasn't looked this good in a long time. The trick is you have to rinse it out really well at the roots, otherwise it will be greasy. I also don't use as much as they say to, you only have to use enough to saturate your hair with it. Then I throw a shower cap on and go about my shower business. Rinse it out at the last minute and put on a little more through the ends as a leave in. Very simple and easy. Glad I tried it because I saw mixed reviews, I almost didn't. So far no cons, except the price, and it might have a tendency to build up on your hair over time, so do all good conditioners, but so what, use a clarifying shampoo, once a month and your good.

The Short:
I like Wen for the most part but won’t repurchase because the only thing it does beyond my usual shampoo and conditioner is make my hair softer. (And we aren’t talking about high class or salon stuff, I use Suave and Vo5!). That’s it.
The Long:
I like the idea of cleansing shampoos and co-wash, but to date, I’ve never had luck. Wen at least cleanses my hair, but I still need to wash daily due to oily roots. My ends are still frizzy and my waves/slight curls still need to be defined. Air drying produces “flat roots” that I must purposefully fluff to avoid a greasy look (even though they’re not greasy) and blow drying is the same as my normal shampoo/conditioner. I dislike how long it takes to use the product in the shower...I live in an apartment and have (maybe) ten minutes of hot water...the majority of which I spend working Wen in and rinsing. I like the re-closable pump for traveling but also dislike the price and the fact that I can't find it in a retail store, and I'm not a huge fan of the minty scent which seems to smell slightly medicinal to me.
My Hair:
In a state of growing out again: shoulder length, fine, normal thickness, huge body with waves all over and curls underneath, I straighten it frequently with a blowdryer and round brush and use a curling iron to polish off the style if needed.

I have to change my opinion on this. Wen is the type of product that will make your hair look great...IF you use it once in a while. I loved the way it made my hair look but once I started using it consistently, my hair starting feeling weight down big time. The trick to this is to use it occasionally- which comes to the point for each person to decide whether or not this product is worth it the price. ***My advice though to newbies is that if you want to try this, order from this website, you can try the entire 30 day kit for only $10.00 (free shipping) *copy and paste as is, don't add www to the url* This takes you to Wens site w/ the special $10 promo

I love WEN but I hate the price! I have thick curly hair that I straighten and WEN makes my hair manageable and smooth. Just a hint though if you want to save money and still get the control of WEN...Use a regular shampoo & conditioner and only use the WEN as a leave in conditioner and it will do the same thing for your hair plus last for many more months than it normally would. Ive had the same bottle since march and its now november and I use it everytime after I shower!

I bought WEN and after 30 days thought ok, but wouldn't buy again since its a bit expensive, and then after 3 days of my "old" shampoo, a salon formula shampoo, I was on the phone begging for a bottle as soom as they could get it to me!
My hair is soooooooooo much better on WEN. But, you do have to understand how to use it, and that you need to know the different types aren't just a scent, there are formula differences. I recently went out of town for a couple of days and forgot my WEN. By the 5th morning my hair was frizzier and not as full looking. I'm home and all back to normal.

My hair recently became fried because of bad highlights, too many corrective treatments. It had become dry, dull and brittle even. The worst condition of my life. I have loads of hair products because I'm a product junky. I bought the Sweet Almond cleanser/conditioner and the leave-in conditioner. I wanted to hate it because of the cost and those awful infomercials. I followed directions, using less pumps because my hair is fine. Well, my hair is now shiny, soft and my color is brighter. I love the results. I haven't been able to duplicate the results with any other products. I'll use this up and keep trying others too. And, no Keratase product has helped either. Won't buy again because it's just too expensive. But the results are really nice. I think results with it probably have more to do with hair condition and texture. My scalp is dryer (age related, ya know) and I have a hunch that those with oilier scalps will not benefit from this product. IMNSHO.

I had been hyped up to buy this for around a year. When I finally got my hands on it, I was disappointed at the results. My hair is slightly damaged from coloring, but it's nothing major. The first time I used it, my hair looked dirty the next day. It DID, however, make my hair extremely silky. I've started using a tiny bit of sulfate free shampoo on my roots, and wen on the rest of my hair. This has worked extremely well for me. I get the best results doing this, and then blow drying it smooth. :] I've definitely noticed my hair does not fall out as much, and I just dyed my hair and the color has not faded at all. Normally it fades within a week or two, but not this time. Overall, I'd say this is a great product, but the price is a little heavy. It's worth it to me though. I think I have officially been drafted into the WEN loving club. :)

I love this product. Used properly it's fantastic and I haven't used actual shampoo now since 2010. Due to the expense I alternate Wen with other conditioners as I've discovered that any conditioner will work like Wen and clean your hair just as well. If I could afford Wen I would definitely use it more often, but at the moment it's every 2nd or 3rd wash (about once a week). I don't think you need to use as much as the instructions state - I just keep applying it till my hair feels clean and moisturised, so it varies from wash to wash, but approx 4-6 pumps (my hair is past my shoulders). I would love to try the lavender and other versions but unfortunately you can't get them in New Zealand and shipping from the States is expensive. I would definitely recommend trying it.

I have generally healthy, color-treated caucasian hair that is very thick, slightly wavy and prone to tangles. I am a huge fan of co-pooing (aka no-pooing) - I rarely use shampoo. I like that Wen has helped mainstream this technique, but the product itself is nothing special. I have had better results with low-, mid-, and high-end conditioners for cleansing.

A complete scam - instructions require you to use a tonne of product - no way the bottle would last one month. Not at all worth the cost of the product.
I have fine shoulder length blond hair with highlights - in excellent condition. After 3 days following the instructions, my hair was dry & brittle with fly aways that weren't there before.
Then to my surprise I started receiving repeat orders despite not ordering. Confirmation email from web order indicated 1 kit - nothing about being on repeat order.
Customer service must be dealing with this complaint a lot - well rehearsed response.
Bottom line - return is my cost and my credit does not include shipping and handling.
Buyer beware unless you intend to throw your $$ down the drain. You are charged before you receive the product. But it takes 1 - 2 billing cycles to recieve refund. Not a risk-free purchase.

My friend got the kit and didn't like this or the mask. I have thick, color treated, damaged hair (my bangs are like thread they are so damaged). The smell is ok. I did love that it is combined and I don't have to condition afterward so it is time saving. I didn't think it did anything for the condition of my hair and made my scalp flake after a few washes. I would try the tree tea one next time to see if that helps. It didn't make my hair oily or dry it out anymore.

I have very fine color-treated shoulder-blade length hair and REALLY wanted to like this product.
The 30 day supply (that you get to use for 60 before you decide to keep it or not and by then they have already sent another package that is way more than $29.95) would in no way last 30 days. I immediately cut back to less than half the amount they said to use - first to make it last more than a week and second I got tired of pushing the pump!
My hair tangles very easily and I loved how the comb flowed through my hair. I loved the scent. I didn't mind that it didn't lather. I used it for two weeks and perhaps no connection but started to see more and more hair swirling down the drain. My hair did look and feel thicker but no shine at all.
So I called for my return authorization and packed it up and sent it back. Before doing so (said could send back empty containers and with product it weighed a lot - with return postage on me, I emptied!) I dumped them down the drain. Or at least I tried. I had to repeatedly poor boiling water in after to get it to "melt" enough to go down! No wonder my hair looked thick and lacked shine!
Nice in theory and I would have been willing to pay the high price had it worked, but Chaz, it just doesn't cut it for me. Love the comb though and you get to keep that!

So my aunt got me into the whole Wen hair care system.
I tried it at her house and saw my hair did feel more manageable. Once I ordered it and started using, I absolutely hated the results. The results were greasy roots and dry ends. So I ended up watching the instructional video on the website and it turns out I was not using the cleanser properly! So I did the method and washed out all the residue. I definitely saw some better results, but you definitely need to use the styling cream that comes with the 30 or 90 day system. Usually, if I do not use the styling cream and I just blow my hair I usually get flyaways and dry ends.
Also, try washing your hair with this at night then use the re moist hair treatment overnight. In the morning, wash out the hair again and style as per usual. The results are no flyaways and nice blow outs.
I also would recommend using cold water to wash your hair. I have been told to use cold water only from my hairstylist as well. Cold water will not open follicles, which can create more damage to your ends. Rinse your thoroughly prior to apply the conditioner. Please also use the comb that comes with the wen care hair system. I use to this comb to massage my hair and rinse off the residue.
Other pros? This conditioner is thick so you won't have to worry about this getting into your eye. One of the main ingredients in this is Rosemary, so that explains the tingling sensation. Another ingredient is panthenol, which is vitamin B5. B5 is known for hair growth and shiny locks. Another pro is it does not have Sodium Laureth Sulfate, which is a detergent that foams.
Some cons? I can't use it every day. If I did use it every day, I would clog up my pipes, even though Chaz says this product is eco friendly? Also, since I can't use it often... this stuff gets quite expensive if you use it more than three times a week.
The verdict? I use this product no more than twice a week as a maintenance. I would never solely use this as my hair cleanser. But it is nice to keep around when you feel your ends start to get dry. I think of Chaz's products as maintenance for my permed hair. I use other conditioners on a regular basis for perm maintenance. But I definitely feel my hair has less flyaway and it looks nice for blow outs. I suggest everybody watch his videos on youtube to achieve the looks you see on his website. His videos are insightful and informative. Now, if I can afford to go to his salon, I would love to get my hair done there!
