I looooove the original Nivea Creme and this week, CVS had a sale for spend $10 get $3 back. I went in to buy the original (I got the large cobalt glass jar <3), and saw the Nivea soft. I've read good reviews on it so I thought I'd grab it too. Horrible mistake. I opened it and took out a tiny dab for my hands and while it feels fairly okay, not too greasy, somewhat moisturizing, etc., I just can't STAND the smell! I'm usually not a very sensitive person when it comes to smell...but this jar makes me nauseous! It's so heavily purfumed that i'm lightheaded and even when my hands are as far away from my face as possible, I can smell it. I'm not one to waste product, no matter how cheap, but I don't know if I can ever give this one another try...I'm sticking with my original. Also, I wish they still packaged ALL their products in the beautiful glass jars.

I use this as a facial moisteriser. I don't know how good it actually is for my skin, but it leaves it feeling soft and smooth. I find it works better than anything else under make-up. It has some silicone in the formula, which might be why foundation goes on so smoothly under it. I have combination skin which can get both dehydrated and oily and I find this somehow even things out and makes my skin act more normal.

I would love to be one of those people who just uses something like this for the rest of my life and turns out to have amazing skin at 90 years old. But despite the lovely results, I just can't trust it! It's so cheap!
I use it to get the smooth, soft, non-shiney result but I feel guilty that I'm not doing enough for my skin, or that it might be like a band-aid or a temporary fix. I'm probably mad and over-thinking it all, so it's reassuring to see more mature women here giving it positive reviews for long term use!

Wonderful moisturizing cream. My mother in law says she uses this after the shower all over including her face, and she has the softest skin. I think it's too heavy on my face for summer, but otherwise this is really great as a body moisturizer especially on dry areas or in the winter. Got rid of the nagging eczema on my legs.

I don't know if there's a different version of this cream out for Europe or at least Switzerland (where I live), but the ingredient list for mine is different than the one listed on this site:

Aqua, Glycerin, Paraffinum, Liquidum, Myristyl Alcohol, Butylene Glycol, Alcohol Denat., Strearic Acid, Myristyl Myristate, Cera Microcristallina, Glzceryl Stearate, Hydrogenated Coco-Glycerides, Simmondsia Chinensis Oil, Tocopheryl Acetate, Lanolin Alcohol (Eucerit), Polyglyceryl-2 Caprate, Dimethicone, Sodium Carbomer, Phenoxyethanol, Linalool, Citronellol, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, Butylphenyl MEthylpropional, Limonene, Benzyl Salicylate, Benzyl Alcohol, Parfum.

I've used this on and off through the years. I llike Nivea skincare products just in general. I like the scent, and the price of this. My main skin gripe is the ocassional flaky skin around the nose area (from nose blowing from colds!) so though this isn't the most luxe or hydrating moisturizer around, this can work for me all year round. I just found a 3 piece set of this in all CVS for $7 what a bargain!!

Found this in tube form at either Walmart or Target, can't remember. Love it. Love love love love love. It has a scent that reminds me of my Grandmother and the old school pink Oil of Olay lotion. It doesn't linger though, which is great. My face is so soft! This might be my HG moisturizer for winter! We'll see how I do in the spring/summer months.

Oh and for those saying OMG it has ALCOHOL!! Fatty alcohols are NOT the same as the alcohol you're thinking of (ethyl or isopropyl alcohol) Do some research!!!

Update 2/2013 - HG status. Nothing compares. I can use it year round without problems. LOVE!!!

This did absorb easily and moisturize nicely for my combo skin. It has a nice, light smell to it, but doesn't linger.

The packaging isn't hygenic as it is in a jar instead of a pump. I found it to be frustrating to travel with because the product does move a lot inside despite it being just a car ride.

Overall, I just didn't think this wasn't quite cutting it for my skin and am on a search with moisturizers with natural ingredients, spf, and such to further help my skin.

I love this. I was previously using the Nivea Creme (in the dark blue container), but since it's currently Summer here, I wanted a lighter option because my skin isn't as dry. This is great for both the face/body, and makes my skin feel much softer with continued use. It absorbs easily and doesn't leave a sticky residue. I wouldn't recommend if you have extremely dry skin (get the one in the darker blue container). Will repurchase.

well, I have to say that to my normal skin, which is quite easy to be treated; this product does a great job. However, I will recommend it to ladies who have dry skin or for using in winter only! Because I feel little heavy for the face unless skin is very dry so I tend to use it there only in winter. Besides, to such cheap, yet effective product, I have to check the ingredients and believe me, you will find out why I rate a 3, while saying this product is worth trying

Where Do I begin? This is actually my first review on here. I fell in love with this product so much last night I had to activate my account on here again and tell you ladies (for dry skin) this is just amazing.
I am an x acne sufferer of 11 years. Two years ago my term prescribed me tazorac and a series of chemical peels (biggest mistake ever). In short my skin was a complete mess, it would shed skin at a abnormal rate, I developed some kinda of dermatitis and so forth. I left that doc found a new derm and asked for accutane (miracle worker). Yes ladies it is what you hear it dries out your skin severely for the entire time you're on it and not to mention other areas getting dry. However, I have yet to see one pimple since then.
;-)
My skin is forever changed, its dry when it use to be oily and Ive been searching high and low for some kind of moisturizer that would sink in and moisturize all day. I purchased some things by Avene (not so great they just sit on top of your skin) and more cetephil, cerave blah blah blah blah. Then I went to sephora to buy a cream by Korres which I love but its too expenisive at the rate I use my moisutrizer... so I've been on the hunt ever since and last night well.... I found it! I used this last night on top of my ret-a and dear lord i woke up and still had a soft face. Anyone with dry skin must have this in their cabinet!

I love everything about this creme. I use their lip balms and body wash on an every day basis, but I ignored the body lotions and creams. Nivea original cream is a well known good choice, but I noticed this has jojoba oil which is really good for your skin's moisture balance. It smells like a basic lotion, and I actually have grown to love it. This smells really similar to the shea butter lotion, only this is slightly thicker for dry skin. This absorbs and makes your skin so soft. With weekly exfoliation I think this is all you need for the winter. A tub lasts a few weeks. The price is also super cheap for such a good moisturizer. This comes in a small tube too so you can try it before you buy the larger tub or use it for travel/your purse.

I have tried every moisturizer on the market---spent a small fortune on some! This is by far the best one I have ever used! I use it all over my body and even on my face. I have very sensitive skin and some face creams have burned my skin and irritated my eye's.
Nivea Soft really works great. My legs were so dry that they were embarrassing---
I felt like I had alligator skin--now they are soft and smooth. The only thing that I wish they would offer is an unscented cream. It has a much more subtle scent then the original, but I do not like cosmetics with a scent. Love, love love the stuff!

Update: I have moved onto using sweet almond oil for my face and coconut oil for my body (more cost effective than anything). However, I stand by my original review of this product, and will always have a small tube or jar around for emergencies. It is still my mother's preferred product!

--------------------------------

I've found my HG face and body moisturizer. This stuff is timeless, and although I bought into the Nivea Creme hype, it isn't as versatile since I can only use it for very dry spots on my body and definitely nowhere near my oily-combo face. That's where Nivea Soft comes into play.

The creme itself is light and fluffy with a very mild scent. It's less overpowering than the original creme. I use this all over my face and body, dabbing a little extra under my eyes. It sinks in beautifully and absorbs in no time at all. I don't suffer from dry skin on my body, and only moisturize when I shave, so the lightness of the creme is not a problem for me. However, it will disappear extremely quickly with daily use if one was to use it for their whole body.

I've suffered no breakouts from this creme, and it doesn't add to my naturally oily t-zone. If anything, I feel it has helped to calm my skin in times of stress. I apply more generously following exfoliation.

The price is very fair considering how little of it I need. It's about $9 CAD for a 200mL jar and will last for 4 months with daily usage. I transfer it to little travel jars as portable hand cremes, and it keeps my hands soft in the harsh Canadian winters. I can't say enough good things about this basic, versatile product - except Nivea does not test on animals! Just another plus.

I love this. It works great for my body and I use it on my face where it gets dry during winter (cheeks and around the eyes). It's pretty light, but moisturizing. It smells good also.
The downside is that it contains a bit of alcohol, which would probably irritate really sensitive skin. I don't have a problem with it, though.

I tried the classic blue tin and it was way too greasy for my combination skin. This one is better: all-purpose moisturizer for both face and body. Still slightly greasy so I use it on my face only on my dry cheeks and only as a night cream. On my body I use it after showers anywhere I have dryness.

What a great surprise, I always saw this cream in the supermarket but never paid attention. I always preferred to invest a little more in skin care, never considered that a product so cheap could do much for my skin.
Luckily I was wrong, after a friend of mine recommend me this cream i thought, why not give it a try...is to so cheap!
I'm glad i did, this moisturize is really good, in texture, smell...and the most important, really works! I was tired of give so much money in body moisturizers and now this is my oficial one, i dont mind like i do with expensive products using alot of this cream because i know i can buy whenever i want and dont spent lots of money to get smooth moisturized skin.
I even tryed on my face (i was concerned because i have oily skin and i thought may be too heavy and give me breakouts) but i was wrong again, i applied before go to sleep and at the other day my face was really soft and moisturized.
Sorry for the long enthusiastic review but i was really surprised with this Nivea product, never thought could be so good for the inexpensive price.

I used to suffer from eczema that would reoccur on a daily basis since a young age and I'd always rely on hydrocortisone cream prescribed to me by my doc to fade any rashes or blemishes, however when I started using Nivea Soft a few years ago it got rid of all my skin irritations. I absolutely love it because it doesn't feel heavy on my skin, like other moisturising lotions and I use it all year round. I don't apply a significant amount during the summer because I find it makes my face quite oily but I still find it the best cream. I find it great for my face and body.

Currently I use this as a night cream and my Origins Vitazing during the day. I'm a huge fan of Nivea products especially this one. I even recommended it to my sister who suffered from dry skin, for almost a year but she never listened to me but last week I noticed a huge difference in her skin and asked what product she started using and she said she got herself the Nivea Soft in the tube! Even she was really surprised with the results! I keep telling friends this is a wonderful product to use but they never believe me until they try it themselves. I think they find it hard to believe because it's such an inexpensive cream! A big thumbs up from me :)

Simply...YES. Excellent product for face and neck and hands. You can moisturize without it ever stinging your eyes. This makes the best under makeup moisturizer I've found yet. Quick to absorb. No perfumey scent here; lightly scented. Prefer this to Neutrogena products which used to be my favorite.

NIVEA Soft is my #1 choice.

I like to buy this product as an all rounder for travel as I can slather my face and body with it. There is a nice light fragrance too, can't think of any negatives really and it is cheap as chips, I have purchased the much more expensive steam cream for my next overseas trip so it will be interesting to see which I prefer of the two.
