I used Skintimate for years---usually the tangerine, raspberry, or chamomile scents, and they always worked perfectly well: few to no nicks and cuts, nice smoothy smooth legs that smelled great.

However, I just recently discovered that Vo5 or Suave conditioners, the really cheapie ones, make AMAZING shaving cream, for a fraction of the cost. So sorry Skintimate---you've been replaced!

today was my first time ever purchasing a shaving gel/creams/etc. type product & to be honest, i always thought soap was just as effective. but as i passed down the aisle in target, i decided to give it a whirl. i mean, i never gave it a second thought but i noticed it wasn't as much as i thought it would be ($5) & was under $2. so i bought it & that night, i tested it out.

in the shower, when i first dispensed the shaving gel onto my hand, i wasn't sure how much i needed so i started out with a nickel sized portion. when i slathered it onto my legs, i realized it was very thin and didn't have much coverage and it was also dripping down my leg. i cannot lie, at this stage, i was extremely disappointed.

so i shaved the first leg and then started onto my second one. this time, i put a much bigger portion onto my hand (the size of two quarters, although it was by accident) & i feel as if it was too much this time. i slathered this onto my other leg and it lathered very nicely and this time, i found it very moisturizing and it was a much easier (and closer) shave.

overall, i find this to be a product that i will most likely buy in the future. the scent is extremely appealing (raspberry rain) and with the correct amount, i believe that it will be a perfect shave every time. (:

This is the best shave gel I've used. I've tried every scent and formula they make and honestly, I love them all. It give me a close shave, keep irritation away and helps my legs feel smooth. I constantly had razor rash but I started using this to shave my legs and then when I get out of the shower, while my legs are still wet--I slather them with safflower oil ( see my review, this stuff is AMAZING). My legs have literally never been softer, and razor rash is a thing of the past. I buy this stuff in a 3pk at Sam's and I'll use it as long as they make it. HG shaving gel...absolutely!

I got the 'lotionized' version of this product for my sensitive and super dry legs. It makes them feel a little softer than usual, without the residue left behind from my moisturizers. It could have better lathering up abilities, because it washes off quite easily but I like it and it's lasted me a long time. I've tried multiple scents and they all smell great, not overpowering but really sweet. The only really negative things are that the bottle rusts too easily and it clogs my razor because the formula is kind of thick. But that's happened less now that I have a non-disposable four blade kind. Recommended.

Not many shave gels on the market but this the best one! Any others Ive tried usually gave me nicks and dry skin. Skintimate is reliable. Will continue to buy again and again until I get laser treatments.

Classic! I love this stuff =) I've used some different brands and generic versions, but this stuff smells great (especially the raspberry rain) and requires only a small amount. I think a lot of the problems people have with the cream being too thin have to do with too much water getting mixed in with the cream while shaving in the shower or tub. And as for those who say it doesn't lubricate enough...the problem may be that they are not getting their legs wet with warm water for a couple of minutes before applying the cream.

This is the only shave gel I use and I love it! It comes in a varitey of scents so you're bound to find one that you like. It leaves my skin smooth and you nearly never get any cuts/nicks- just be sure to use a good razor :P

i got this in sensitive skin because i have extremely senstitve skin and the others irritate my skin very much. it seems very thick which is good i think, and it does protect my skin but im not sure how much it prevents irritation which absolutely sucks!!!

I find this shaving cream to be thin - if I put shaving cream over my leg, it will start dripping down before I finish shaving the entire leg.

Works for me! I mean, it's WAY better than using regular soap. It's cheap, the consistency seems thick enough and I get very few to little nicks depending on if I'm careful with my razor blade. I just hate how I get razor bumps. If anyone knows a shaving cream that combats razor bumps, please let me know.

Everyone talks about getting razor burn, and when i first started shaving i used this gel, so i didn't know what people were talking about. Makes my legs soft and smooth and almost never get caught, a dime sized drop of this lubricates and lathers into creme on my lower legs, a palm size amount covers both legs and both pits. I happen to like the fragrance, also.

This is a very nice shaving gel that makes your legs feel soft and prevents razor burns. However, i'm usually in too much of a rush and my Venus razors by themselves work fine. It's a really thick consistentcy and you have to rinse your blade a lot to get a close shave.

I've been using Skintimate for Sensitive Skin for years, but I got the baby oil kind to try something new, and I went right back to the sensitive skin type. The baby oil irritated my skin (even though the smell was nice). The sensitive kind is the best for me -- no smell, no irritation, and it soothes my skin after shaving. It's a keeper!

I love skintimate (of course i don't think i've ever tried anything else). It works great for me! No razor burn and no cuts (this is coming from someone who changes razor blades about as often as she changes hairdressers... and i must say i'm very loyal to my hair stylist! haha) and also each can seems to last me a while... or maybe i just think that because it's winter & i wear jeans everyday?

This did not prevent me from nicks or razor burns! And it smells gross! No matter what scent I buy, they all have that same Skintimate scent.. which isn't a good thing. Bought it because of its low price, but will not be buying again.

After buying this off and on for many years, I finally decided to switch to regular bar soap for shaving. The Skintinate gel does not provide enough lubrication to protect the skin against cuts while shaving. This is just a thin layer of foam with some fragarance thrown in. By the way, I never liked any of the Skintimate scents, which are either too sweet or too fruity. Since I've made the switch to regular soap, my skin is softer and better protected when shaving. Hair conditioner works good too! This is one product you can eliminate from your bathing routine.

Can't add much to the other good reviews of this product. I also don't have anything to compare it to, because it's all I've ever used! I'll continue using it, because it works (at least for me), smells good, and isn't expensive!
