Ok, So my skin type is so weird. I feel like it is EXTREMELY oily yet it can get dry and on the tip of my nose get cakey. That being said this is my second day with this foundation. I am in the shade NC25 which was a perfect match for me because I am kind of pale with a Yellow undertone(Dominican, Bolivian, Guatemalan). For moisturizer I use the Murad Mattifier which is pretty pricey about $40.00 but well worth the price. I use it about everyday and the little bottle lasts me at least 2 months. I used to use the Loreal Infallible Pro Matte which I thought was my god send. For the first few hours it looked amazing but after lunch time and a little powder touch up it was definitely cakey and by the end of the day came completely off(used with Rimmel Stay Matte Primer). So I decided to give MAC a try, mind you I have NEVER been in a Mac store. So I ended up going in there for the Prolong wear however the beauty consultant tried both on me and I liked the finish of the Studio Fix much better and she let me know that this foundation would keep me Matte throughout the day. I looked up so many reviews about this product and the one thing I kept hearing people complain about was the smell. People, it is not that big of a deal! Yes it had I feel like a typical foundation smell but not bad enough to the point where I would not buy it. Anyways, so I apply this foundation with my Murad moisturizer and MAC prep + prime Viage and Visage whatever it's called. I would say this is definitely a medium coverage however it is very buildable. With about 2 coats I was able to get the almost full coverage face I was looking for. The finish is absolutely beautiful but I will say after about 5 hours my face was semi-oily not too bad and it was mainly in my nose and cheeks. What I ended up loving about this product and why I will repurchase is that I used my Clean N Clear oil absorbing wipes, dabbed the oil off and my face looks just like it did when I applied my make up. With the Loreal it would look disgusting and would pretty much come off. So, overall doesn't keep you 100% matte, I would say 75%-80% but with a little oil absorbing wipe you can get that flawless looks back. Now let's see what it will look like after 10 hours of wear ;-)

This foundation is very thick and cakey so it should stay on a lot longer than it actually does. I found that after a few hours it would start to go patchy and sink into dry patches on my skin even when i had applied primer and setting powder. The shade was also completely off, i was matched to NW25 in the mac store and it made me far too orange looking!! My skin tone is more of a neutral and i prefer to wear cool toned makeup as i self tan, i told the mac worker this but she said the NW25 was perfect. Ive now realised that i should have been matched to NC20/25 but even with the right shade i would not purchase this foundation again, it only lasted me around 3 months which i would not expect from a high end brand, i have many foundations from drugstore that last much longer. Also it completely broke me out, the thick cakey consistency of the product completely blocks the pores and is very hard to remove. Lastly, the bottle does not contain a pump, meaning it is very difficult and messy to get the product out and then its difficult to get the remaining liquid out when the product is nearly finished which is a complete waste

This foundation was my very first MAC product. I asked the lady at the counter to sample my skin colour and she gave me NC15 which was slightly more orangey than I hoped it would be.
It was great for hiding large pores and acne and made my skin look flawless. The downsides are that it is quite thick and heavy, so was recommended by my dermatologist to opt for something that won't clog my pores. It also didn't last the whole day.
In the winter, my skin is obviously more dry and it tends to flake off and look cake by the end of the day. This is definitely a better foundation for oily skin and for in the summer.
I have since bought this product again

First and foremost I love the coverage this foundation would give me it gives you a full coverage, beautiful matte finish and I would always get compliments every single time I would wear this foundation , but unfortunately it made me break out very bad mostly on top of my forehead so I had to stop using it. & I've been hearing from a lot of other people who use this foundation as well saying the same exact thing that it made them break out very badly which is a shame bc I love the way this foundation went on! I have no idea what's in the formula that's not going for sensitive skin , but even then my skin isn't even that sensitive. I guess you wouldn't know if it'll break you out until you actually use it. I give it a 3 and the price is pretty up there but Out of all the makeup brand Mac has got to be the least expensive one.

I love this foundation! i just use if im going out at night and it is perfect for that! Medium to full coverage and does not break me up. Also it is PERFECT for dehydarted skins like mine this is one of the few foundations that actually blends into my skin

This was the first mac foundation I had ever purchased and will probably be my last. I didn't get on with this foundation what so ever. This is a medium to full coverage foundation. I have combination skin which is more on the dry side depending on the weather. I have tried to apply this with different techniques, beauty blender, brush and fingers. But it always seems to sit on top of my skin looking cakey. It has a very strong smell almost paint like. I feel as if its way over priced and over hyped just like many Mac foundations which has put me off purchasing any more. There for I will not be repurchasing this.

I really like this foundation mainly because of the coverage and how the shade NC15 is perfect for me. Only cons are how you have to buy a pump, how it doesn't last very long and how it can sometimes cause you to breakout but personally I think it is very good as it has only caused me to have one breakout in the months I've been wearing it.

I love this foundation. I don't find it heavy on my face at all as some others have even though it's full coverage. I use the lightest shade which is NW10, I am very pale and this is the best foundation I've found to match my skin. It's not too yellow and is perfect for porcelain skin. It also has oil control so it's perfect for oily skin as most foundations tend to slide off of oily areas. This lasts all day and I don't have to touch it up at all. The finish is perfect and I find that it hides my acne very well. I just use a matte powder over this to set it and take away any shine. It doesn't feel caked on and it doesn't look it as long as you blend it in enough. I use a beautyblender and the Real Techniques buffing brush to blend it in. I haven't broken out since using this product. The only downside is that it doesn't come with a pump so you have to pay an extra £4.50 for a pump but you can reuse it.

omgggggg , how can people use this..
i love mac prolong wear concealer and really wanted to like this. but its soooo heavy and thick... and i dont mean in a good way. it litterally makes me look like i have a mask on. i bought it a few years ago and i rememer it making me break out. but like 3 years later i wanted to give it a chance for redemption. it looks ok if you are going for that mask look which can really look drag after you added concealer, blush, bronzer, highlight.
i would dislike it so much if it wasnt almost 30 dollars .. trying it again years later i wore it twice and both times i have irritation all over my face. and i have a really good cleansing routine with a skin brush/ clarisonic and erno lazlo soap. the smell is really strong which i couldnt gotten over if it wasnt so thick. for me my routine already looks full with what all i use and using sff just makes it unnecessarily cakey. if you dont need extreme coverage skip this.. i recommend bourjois healthy fix foudation if you need a suggestion ps you might also look like an oompy loompa if you are not used to orangish pigment lol

This foundation is thick! A little goes a super long way and I mean a long sway. I grabbed a NC30 I like the color match and I loved how my neutralizer looked with this foundation. Long lasting bit of a matte/ satiny finish if that makes sense. This is a full coverage foundation if not applied carefully it will look cake you! I will not buy this again.
