My hair stylist recommended I try this product, so I did. That was 2 years ago and I'm still using it. I have fine color-treated hair that is medium to long. I use a dime sized amount (maybe a tad smaller) and work it into my hair, avoiding the roots. It makes my hair SOOOO soft and silky. It' s incredible! It took me a while to get used to the scent, it is rather masculine smelling - almost like a musk. My only complaint is that if I apply this to my roots it does weigh my hair down a bit. Also, I have to wash the residue off my hands when I finish applying it to my hair because it will end up on everything that I touch afterwards.

yes! It's the most expensive hair product i've purchased thus far and i must say it's well worth it. It retails for nearly 50 dollars at CVS (i've seen the price go up) but i get this at a little cheap salon in the mall for 35 ish w/ tax coming to about 40. It comes in a big gray bottle with a push open red cap.
Overall rating: 5, love it
Price : 5 , pretty pricey for something not sold exclusively in a salon
PAckaging: 5, Sanitary, convenient, no problems so far with it

Ok onto the stuff. This product smells HEAVILY musky, almost like men's cologne. When i first put some in my hand i was like Holy Christ thats a strong smell. but after a few weeks i got used to it. and after 3 years of using it i dont even notice the smell anymore. Anyway its a golden yellow liquid thats quite thick. I put about the size of a quarter into my palm and rub it between my hands then distribute it through my very much DAMP hair. after that i wipe my hands off close the bottle and turn my hair iron on. oh btw... the opening gets a little grimey after a while so you might wanna clean it. This product lasted me nearly a year and a half, the entire bottle, but only because i gave my cousin nearly 2oz of it to try out. i've only repurchased this once. both times i bought it were the biggest bottles they offered. Anyway it makes my hair smooth and silky after i completely iron it out. I have no fly aways and my hair is soft and totally gorge' . I love this and will continue to love and repurchase this until i die, or it's discontinued...which ill be very sad about... :(
LOVE it 5 stars.

Edit : Still loving this 7/5/12 , i've tried to deviate away a little and i still come back to this. Kerastase Chroma Thermique made my hair too light and fly away , and redken smooth down heat glide was a tacky mess

IT IS AMAZING! It works really goood and makes your hair shiny and soft and makes it smeelll good. If you put too much in one spot it makes your hair greasy and you have ot put it in when its wet or eww haha so if it makes your hair loook greasy its your fault and theres directions so it shouldnt be that hard haha. i think its really expensive and mine was leaking out of the bottle so the packaging sucks i guesss.
Overall rating: 4 (1-5)
Price: 4 (5 being the most expensive)
packaging quality: 2 (5 being the best)

I hardly use hair products but I bought sample versions off trademe.co.nz and I would recommend this product to every girl! Completely smooths out your hair and makes it extra glossy and feels so manageable and soft. It's a shame we can't but this product in New Zealand but very keen to ship some from overseas.

This will not replace my Bedhead Foxy Curls for a silicon product...but it is an amazing with it. Before Chi no matter what I did(even a fresh haircut wouldn't help) my ends would smell burnt, but now they don't and it makes my hair soft on top of it. My hair is amazing when straightened but the biggest question is: Is it worth the price? Depends, for someone with straight hair, yes. For someone with curly? maybe, for some it might not help much but for me it goes well with Foxy curls to create amazing curls.

This is a must have in my daily hair regimen! I have very long (down to my waist) way over colored hair and this stuff makes my hair shiny, silky, and smooth. You would never know I color my hair if I didn't tell you. My hair looks like it's never been colored, blow dryed or straighted after I use it. I love the smell and will continue to use this every day. I highly recommend this to everyone that wants smooth shiny hair that you can't stop touching because it feels amazing.

I used to have very long, fine hair, and I almost never styled at all and was always parted right down the middle. Well, my mom finally bought a flat iron, and I wanted to try a product that I hope would make my very straight, damaged hair straighter and sleeker. No dice. This stuff was total crap. It did not protect my hair from the iron, smelled bad, and was mostly alcohol.

I realize how much of a drama queen statement this is, but this product is a lifesaver! I like having blonde hair, and I have to get my roots done every month. I also blow dry and flat iron my hair at least every other day. My hair was starting to look damaged and feel like straw. I tried all sorts of heat protecting hair products and moisturizing shampoos and conditioners. Then, I happened to find this product. It leaves my hair looking hair commercial shiny and feeling very soft. I don't have to use a lot either, so the bottle lasts a very long time. It does smell kind of like men's cologne, but it's not a bad smell. I can tolerate the smell since it keeps my hair looking so good!
EDIT (4/6/13): I like Kerastase's Nectar Thermique a lot better than this. Its scent is way better too. This is still a good product, just not the best.

J’adore J’adore J’adore !!

The best thing that ever happened to my hair besides the GHD straightner and the Kerstase hair masks!!

My hairdresser has been using it on my hair for so long and I saw what it did to my hair so I bought it. I have the bottle of 12 oz.since 2 years and it still almost FULL.
You have to use a tiny drop, well I use two since my hair is long thick and curly and I only apply it starting from the middle of my hair to the ends, NEVER on your main since it will make your hair looks greasy in no time.

It makes my hair, shiny, straight and DIVINE!! I wash my hair once a week (do I hear EEUWW?) which is more than enough since my hair is dry and colored. I apply my Kerstase hair mask for colored hair and after I wash and towel dry my hair I put the serum directly and leave it air dry before I start styling my hair.

A lot fo people complains about the smell, but it doesn't bother me at all and it goes away fast. I would still use it if it smelled like garlic lol ;-)

Hell YEAH I will buy it again, but this bottle will last me for another 2 years or so. Good value for the money

i would only repurchase this if they ever discontinued paulmitchell superskinnyserum or moroccanoil. this stuff is a good heat protectant ..... thats about it. doesnt keep the curl out of my hair as long as id like it too. MY MAIN thing with anything from CHI is it smells like men ... mens CRUVE colonge which i DONT want m,y hair to smell like . the only one i can stand is the 44iron guard cuz the smell fades fast (:

This product is amazing! It smells so good and it makes my hair amazingly soft and silky. I use it everytime I straighten or blowdry my hair and it leaves my hair feeling really smooth plus it eliminates any kind of frizz. I've also used it before curling my hair and it gave me the softest silkiest curls ever. Expensive but definitely worth the price.

This stuff is great as a heat protector, it makes my hair shinier and some what protects against heat. Its quite expensive though, and doesnt last more than a couple months because I have hair that goes about halfway down my back. I dont think its worth it, and Ive used better products. I would repurchase it if it was cheaper, but I dont think its worth what you pay.

It didn't really do much for me. I used it as a heat protectant for years and I don't think it truely helped my hair. It also has a strong cologne smell to it.

Oh hello, HG!

Just popped open my second bottle of CHI Silk Infusion (purchased the first one back in '07-- that's 5 years ago, people!), and just as happy with it as the first time I used this on my hair.

For reference: long, normal hair/split and dry ends, wavy on top/coarse spiral curls underneath... Not exactly the most straightener-friendly hair.

This stuff is gold when it comes to managing those shorter, broken pieces of hair you get if you heat-style often. Normally, those damaged strands and split ends are the first to frizz on me, but when I use CHI Silk Infusion they smooth right up.

What works best IMO is using this product on damp, air-dried hair. I run a dime-sized amount through my hair, concentrating on the middle-to-ends. It's important not to apply this to your roots, since this product is a serum (so, not exactly greasy, but still greasy... Know what I mean? =P). Apply too much, and you'll run the risk of weighting your hair down and creating a "dirty hair" look, which is frustrating if you've just washed it.

On the front of the bottle, it says "Silk Reconstructing Complex". AFAIK, NO product can reconstruct your hair or heal split ends (if you know of one, PLEASE tell me!). Instead, this protects hair from heat, allows your straightener to gloss over hair with minimal damage, and leaves hair silky smooth with a nice, cologne-ish scent that fades over time.

This does not come cheap, though. I've seen this product retail for around $40USD at DS. Luckily, I found a 12 oz. bottle for $25USD at TJMaxx (kind of like finding a diamond in a gravel pit though, as they normally don't stock CHI).

While the price can be somewhat steep, it's worth it. I'm sure that this product has managed to protect my hair while minimizing frizz and the unwanted aftermath of heat-styling. CHI Silk Infusion definitely has a permanent place on my bathroom counter.

Keep in mind that my hair is pretty dry no matter what I do to it. While this did smooth my hair shaft, it didn't do half the job of my Frizz Ease hair serum. With the latter product I can really see a difference as far as shine and volume, unfortunately Chi Silk Infusion did not provide the same benefits. I used this product on both wet and dry hair.

Looooove this! i got a sample bottle of this for free, so of course i tried it and i really noticed a difference. The sample bottle also lasted me about a month you dont need very much at all. While a bigger bottle is pricey, the product lasts so long anyways. Made my hair feel and look super soft and silky.

My hair is very damaged on the ends and when putting this on damp hair, it really makes a difference on smoothing the ends once my hair dries. I also double this as my heat protectant when I flat iron my hair, and it really smoothes and makes it shiny (way better than Tresseme HP). I don't think the smell is "musky" at all. I usually am very sensitive to anything scented, but the smell didn't bother me, I actually like it .

I am just kind of "eh" about this. It's not that the product was bad, it just wasn't anything special. I didn't notice that my hair was amazing after using it which I expect it to be for the price. I understand maybe a $3 hair serum not working, but if you pay more than $10 for a bottle of something I expect it to do a good job of "wowing" me. But it really didn't. My hair was just the way it is normally. The smell is a little off-putting in my opinion because I don't really like smelling like men's cologne. I would not repurchase.

I received a mini-bottle of this when I bought another CHI product. I remember the first time looking at the label/ instructions, and kind of asking myself "... and this is supposed to do WHAT for me?!" However, I sucked it up, and gave it a shot. I tried it on wet, post-shower hair, and it didn't do much. Not bad at detangling, but nothing impressive. Blow dried my hair, and again, nothing spectacular. Not the same soft, weightless feel as some Enjoy, Paul Mitchell, and Kenra products I use. Gave my hair a weird sticky texture whether I used it wet, dry, or while heat styling. It did not help with frizzies or shine, and I could not stand the smell-- it reminds me of Old Spice or cheap cologne. Yuck. I was not a fan of the packaging either, as the flip top kind of just made it all rush out, like with Biosilk. I think this product might work, somehow, with other hair types. Perhaps I was not using it properly, I don't know, but for my hair needs (coarse, dry, color-treated), it just did nothing for me. Glad it was a sample, not a purchase.
