I first discovered this as a sample from Nordstrom's, and had to go back and buy a bottle. It's one of my favorite fragrances. My hubby adores it, and summer is the perfect time to wear it in the evening. I seem to attract a lot of interest in the insect realm when I wear it in the daytime! This is one of those warm, fruity, flowery, vanilla fragrances that a lot of people can't resist. I get a lot of compliments. My hubby asks me to wear this or Pink Sugar to bed. lol

I really like this -- to me, it's a lighter, sweeter version of L'Instant de Guerlain, one that can me more of a daytime, playful fragrance.

NOTES: Strawberries, Bilberries, Black Currant, Bulgarian Rose, Jasmine, Ylang-Ylang, Sandalwood, Almond, Praline. Why this has lower ratings than the EDT is beyond me, because the EDT & EDP have the same notes according to Sephora.com. I've tried both and they both smell practically the same to me. What a beautiful fragrance! Wow! I feel like I finally hit the perfume jackpot. I smell strawberries in a creamy vanilla musk. I usually love anything with Bulgarian rose & almonds but to add strawberry is just genius! I feel insanely pretty when I wear this. I see this being a compliment getter!

I can't think of any other cosmetic more personal and subjective than perfume. That being said, I find the Hanae Mori (Butterfly) EDP repulsive in a sickeningly sweet way. It is nauseatingly sweet on me. I love many sweet scents (Vaniglia del Madagascar, L de Lolita Lempicka, Allure, even Pink Sugar!) but this scent was unbearable to me. On the bright side (depending how you look at it), the staying power is very impressive.

While I do think this is a pretty scent. I think it is very dependent on its wearer. On me it was just average. I know for some its just wonderful. I would say give it a try if you like the way it smells. Wear it for a while to see how it reacts to you.

I found Hanae Mori for a steal on EBay, and its fragrance notes caught my attention. At first sniff, something instantly took me back to adolescence. It has gnawed at me every time I smell this fragrance! Then just now it hit me! I know some people will flip when they read this, but this so reminds me of Vanilla Fields! I used to wear it when I was in eighth grade! All I need to do now is find a bottle of the Coty fragrance to sniff so I can confirm this. Yes, definitely a strong resemblance there... at least to me. I wish I knew if I liked this or not. Every time I try to get rid of it, something keeps me from doing so. I'll put it on, and on the whole it's nice, but when I spray it, there's a synthetic something about it that I can't seem to get past. It does get better the longer I wear it, though. From the reviews here, people seem to prefer the EDT, so perhaps I should try that. Anyway, I'm glad I finally figured out what this reminds me of. Maybe I keep it around for sentamental reasons.

I love this scent. It is so beautiful. It's sweet and warm and unique. Unlike any other vanilla noted perfume I have smelled. It's like vanilla for grown-ups. It will stay in my fragrance collection.

This is the first time I smelled a fragrance that I had to have - I just never smell any that I absolutely love. I walked up the the SA and when she asked me what I wanted I said 'not floral' so she handed this over and I bought it within 2 minutes. Initial scent is vanilla mixed with raspberry and blackberry. The dry down is more caramel vanilla, less berry on me. I think this will be my go-to scent for a very long time.

Mmm smooth, mellow, caramelly vanilla...but thanks to the other notes it isn't too sweet on my skin.

I adore gourmand and soft floral scents; Hanae Mori Butterfly encompasses both of my loves. What prevents this from being a teenage girly fragrance is the fact that it’s not overly sweet and is complex. Unfortunately, this doesn’t work well with my body chemistry. Instead of the wonderful sweet notes, this dries down into a stale, musky scent after a few hours. It smells fine if I spray it in my hair or on my clothes, as long as the perfume doesn’t come in contact with my skin. One spray goes a long way, it usually lasts over 9 hours but even after 13 hours I could detect a slight lingering scent.

This is a very classy, yet sweet fragrance. This is probably my favorite. It has Notes of sandalwood, bilberries, ylang ylang, currant and jasmine.Smells like sweet vanilla, with almond, but not over the top.It is pricey,so if I did get it again,it would be on ebay. This is perfect for everyday use.Im not a big fan of floral scents, but you cant really detect that in this perfume. This ranks on my top 5 list.I cant wait to get the butterly one!

Strawberries and almonds and maybe some baked cookies as well. I think the EDP would be too over the top for me, so I'm happy with the EDT. This is a feminine and playful scent.

I love the EDP. The EDT smells off to me and the Parfum is too strong. I wear this every day and don't bother to test other fragrances at all. I love that this scent is a bit sweet and it just smells "warm" to me without being at all masculine. I get complimented on this frgrance all the time. Men and women walk up to me and tell me how great I smell. I just don't smell like "Me" without it. It is a strong scent, so I spray very lightly and walk into it.

Not too strong, not too vulgar...not too sweet, just right. That's how I describe this fragrance. It's out of the ordinary because it's not one of those over advertised fragrances so most women don't have this one. I have two sample vials of this stuff and Im just starting to use them, not sure if this would be one of my favorites but it's nice.

My all time favorite fragrance of all time hands down. Men love this. Women (at least the ones I know) never know what it is hahaha which is what I like. I always look for a fairly unique fragrance that is sexy and this is it. Not too many women have this one. It is quite pricey but worth repurchasing because it is top notch quality and makes me smell irresistable!

This is the first perfume I have ever purchased untested, I bought this based on the reviews here and other sites. I am so glad I did, it is a lovely soft scent, that reminds me of a more elegant version of Burberry Brit. I took off one lipstick as it is rather expensive.

This scent is sweet (although not as much as Pink Sugar). it smells a bit vanilla-ish mixed with berries and champagne. i would LOVE this scent but it disappears on me after an hour or so even in EDP form. will not repurchase for now.

This was my favorite scent about 4 years ago. I would describe it as a sweet floral. The almond and praline base notes are what make this scent so unique, IMO. I'm not a big fan of musk, so this fragrance really struck me the first time I tried it. The berry top notes aren't too "tinkerbell-ish", meaning it doesn't remind me of cutesy, little girl candy perfume. I love sweet scents, but not if they're obnoxiously sweet, like Aquolina or that f*%#ing Britney Spears crap. I'd like to think of this as sweet perfume for the more grownup set. Perfect for the current spring season and weather, with its mature mix of berries, flowers and sugar. The bottle is beautiful, but this is not a scent you can carry around with you in your purse, since the entire bottle, including the butterfly wing-shaped top is all glass. This is one of my all time favorties and is a fixture in my collection.

I've had a few samples of this over the last couple years; I don't even know why I keep trying. It is tremendously annoying and cloying. It reminds me of stale, sweet circus peanuts. You know, those fake-confection light orange-colored candy peanuts. One time, years ago, I took my father to see a live performance of Chicago. We absolutely loved the show, but we both mentioned that it would have been better without the awful, distracting perfume worn by what seemed to be multiple people in our section. I had no idea what it was, but it was "CLOSE", sweet, cloying, loud, and seemed to be sucking the oxygen out of the air, kind of like a funeral parlor smell. I realized a couple months later that it was Hanae Mori, and likely it might have just been one person who had many in our section choking. I don't like the EDP, or the EDT. Unlike Fracas, this didn't give me a headache, it just made me feel I could not truly enjoy life as long as I was breathing this.

I got a sample of this fragrance & am glad that I did not pay this fragrance. It really didn't do anything for me at all. I was very neutral on the scent as a whole. It was not long lasting nor was it memorable. Off the top of my head I can think of nothing positive about this fragrance. I won't purchase this nor will I recommend it to anyone.
