I don't know why so many people with oily or combo skin use this, I always thought its for the dry to very dry skin type to add additional moisture: and it does just that. Use it after moisturizer and my skin feels great even in dry winter days :) definitely ewill buy again

Since it seems like I get a sample of this in every Clinique GWP, I finally decided to give it a try. I have combination/oily skin and have been using mild cleanser, toner #3 and moisturizing gel as my daily routine, so I substituted this as my overnight moisturizer for about a week. It feels heavier than the moisturizing gel when it goes on and when I cleanse my face in the morning, my skin feels extra-soft. Although I like the results I'm getting from it, I doubt I'll buy a full sized product as I'm not crazy about products in jars that you dip fingers into.

I really like Moisture Surge and Clinique products in general. It is in no way meant to tackle very dry skin, but it is great alone for summer or above/underneath another moisturizer in the winter depending on how dry your skin is. I use Moisture Surge and then top that with my day cream, Clinique Repair Wear for normal to dry skin. It works very well. In the summer, I may just use one or the other!

Ok so this is my 3rd month of using this creme. The first 2 months it worked well for my skin. I break out soooo easily after creams but this creme worked really well for me and it was moisturizing, so I was very happy in the first 2 months. Right now is the 3rd month of using this and I can tell you that suddenly this creme started to breal me out like crazy! I have spots all over my face, I look like a teenager with zits all over my nose, forehead and cheeks. I mean, I had zits like this when I was 14! Also it doesn't provide my skin with any moisture anymore, so my skin feels very dry after an hour and dry patches show up. Actually this cream makes my skin dry, it's really strange but that's what it does. The main problem are the massive break outs and I mean massive. so for this reason I won't buy it ever again. It also feels very silicony on my face...so not a good creme.

i have super dry skin and this definitely broke me out and made my skin a lot more dryer, i woke up the next day and i sooooo saw a break out. i also don't like pot moisturisers because they say that they aren't as hygienic.

Since I live in Calgary, my skin tends to change from oily in summer to extremely dry and flaky in winter. I was looking for something that wouldn't give me breakouts but still moisturize and eliminate those nasty flaky patches around my nose and lips. Unfortunately, this product didn't do it.
I would still say it's a great moisturizer for those with normal to combination skin.
It is very smooth, your skin is left soft and silky after applying it. It doesn't break you out. It's very light and perfect for summer.

This works better on top of your everyday moisturizer. It goes on top of make up and is really light, but it does not do anything to dry, peeling skin.

i agree with most people - this does not moisturize for long and the dry feeling does come back after a few minutes. after hating the dramatically different moisturizing gel, i was recommended this moisturizer. this was probably worse then the gel. i liked the lotion but was told it had oils and was noy good for acne prone skin.
i hate jar products. kind of unsanitary, and sometimes you get too much product. i found myself reapplying this moisturizer every 30 minutes just to get the dry feeling off, and i ran out of the product pretty quickly.
i still use the DDM lotion only when i have dry patches because it works and moisturizes amazing. and i never break out from it, which is kind of ironic.

I just can't get into Clinique products. I have really dry skin in the winter time and I though this would be great, SA said this would be great, got a sample. It feels very moisturizing going on and feels pretty light weight, then a few minutes later it feels like my skins even drier than it was before. It makes my skin feel tight and dry and I just don't like it. Garnier worked 1000x better for me than this. It's too expensive, I'm just giving up on Clinique.

This moisturizer confuses me. It feels great going on, skin is more comfortable but 10 min later the dry patches reappear and the comfortable feeling is gone - a true disappearing act. Adding more layers will not make a difference.
Also, If there are any anti-oxidants the jar packaging will not preserve them. Perhaps this works better on oily yet dehydrated skin vs truly dry skin. Either way it should not be marketed as a moisture surge for dry skin.

even worse than Clinique DDMG and too expensive.

The best out there.

I'm still working on my sample, but will definitely purchase, soon! I love everything Clinique. I am a Clinique LOVER! This is by-far their very best moisturizer (next to dramatically different). I am in love. I am skin type 2, and have dry, sentive cheeks, and am very pale. I love this, because no matter how dry my skin is, this reverses weeks of dryness in about 2 minutes! LOVE it. So light and non greasy. Works wonders under foundation! Makes my skin super soft and plump looking. Very dewy. Love it. I can't wait to buy a full size! It's like a gel, but hydrates like a cream, with the feel of a gel. Make sense? Perfect. I'm in love! Holy grail moisturizer!

I love this product! I've been using it for years already! I normally use it under makeup and I love how makeup will stick to my face and also give this healthy glow. I have sensitive + combination skin (mainly normal, but slightly oily at T-zone areas) and this product makes my face feel hydrated without any irritations or breakouts. The only downside is that you must use it with other products (I apply lotion first, followed by the moisture surge). There is absolutely no scent to this product and is suitable for those with sensitive skin. I would highly recommend this, although it can be slightly pricey! =D

Its very expensive for something that doesnt really do what it says it does. Its supposed to be a very good moisturizer for very dry spots. Well I had dry patches and when I forst put it on it was very nice. But after it had soaked in a few min later my dry patches reappeared so I find this moisturizer very useless. It feels nice but not something I would buy If you have any dry skin at all. Only good thing is it doesnt make you break out. But the price is ridiculous...ytou would think for the price it would be a little better at doing what its supposed to. Will not repurchase.

Overall, Its a good mosturizer.
Super helpful for dry n sensitive skin!
you can tell the difference pretty quickly!
However, its a bit pricy...and there's more similar products with a lower price out in the market now...
so sometimes i will switch to others...
but I'll still buy it occasionally

Great moisturiser. I have had trouble in the past with moisturisers breaking me out but have been using this for about a month now with no break outs at all. I use this morning and night after using rodial glamtox serum ( which is highly moisturising) Id suggest that dryer skin types would really want to use a serum with this cream for a true moisture hit, my skin type is combination, I will repurchase and would also recommend

I love this. My skin is dry and at 27, I have noticed wrinkles on my forehead. I feel an instant improvement when I apply this. It is moderately priced, and a little goes a long way!

Let me start off by saying I LOVE the way this stuff feels on my skin, its a gel and its cooling an soothing to my dry, tired skin. Now on the other hand, this isn't very moisturizing if u have normal to oily skin this would be perfect do to the gel consistency, but very dry skin this needs a lotion to back it up. I use the clinique dramatically different moisturizing lotion for dry combo/ very dry skin and the 2 are a perfect match for me. I love putting this under my eyes in the morning, its cooling and feels so nice and smooth. I enjoy using this product.
Age: 25-29 Skin: Sensitive, Fair-Medium Hair: Brunette Eyes: Brown
No harsh ingredients
Makes my skin feel amazing- smooth and silky
My skin glows
Concentrated- if you use too much, you will feel greasy
Good under makeup- makes my Nars Sheer glow apply beautifully
this is not to be used alone, I mix it with Boscia at night and an spf moisturizer during the day..I also alternate using this in the summer and Argan oil in the winter.
