I am torn on this product. I can't say it's done anything stellar - it mostly seems to be keeping the status quo, and at 40, is that enough? it may be. I don't think it's that dreadfully expensive because I bought it in December (early) and it's almost September and I'm still on the first bottle! One pump and I smooth it on my face - cheeks, under eyes. Not so much on my neck or forehead. Maybe the fact that I use it so sparingly is why it isn't doing a ton?
I already have really really good skin - I usually am mistaken for someone in my 20s anyway - but this didn't move things much that I could tell.

I have been using Prevage for more than a year now, and I love the results. The results I see are mainly in skin texture and tone. I have noticed my skin appears more hydrated and my pores appear to be almost invisible. My skin has such even tone and color. It does appear to "glow from within" like ano5ther person mentioned. I will also mention that I am only 26 with no fine lines, so I'm using this more as a preventative measure than as a solution to lines, and as a preventative measure, I think it is fantastic! I can't imagine not using it, even though it costs $150.00, I still think it is worth it for the results! I use it underneith my moisturizer at night and under my sunscreen during the day. I will admit that it did irritate my skin at one point and I thought I wouldn't be able to use it. But I eased off for a week only using in the morning and have since worked up to using both morning and night without any further irritation. The 4 grade is because of the price! The bottle does last a long time, but come on!

I was lucky enough to get this in a swap. I really loved this product. I am 42 and this did wonders for my skin. Helped to even out skin tone considerably and basically any fine lines that I might have had are completely gone. I have used many expensive skin care products, but I must say that I would definitely recommend this product 100%. This product is not cheap, but it is worth it and it will last you a while.

I am 53 & I love this stuff. Started out using the over the counter version & I seemed to notice a difference in my skin texture within a few days. I then purchased the Prevage MD from a dermatologist. I am typically very sensitive to many products, but I am having no problem with this. (I am on bottle #3.) My wrinkles have definitely lessened & it seems as though my skin has thickened. The smell is very odd though, I agree. I'm not trying to be funny...but to me, it smells similar to the liquid secreted by a dog's anal glands. (I can just hear everyone going "eewwww!") But the odor does not linger once it's dry, & it dries quickly. The packaging is an environmental nightmare. There is a completely unnecessary, thick hard plastic "jar" encasing the bottle. Whoever designed and/or approved it must not give a crap about our environment. I plan on writing them concerning this.
But nothing has ever had such a noticeable effect on my skin. And believe me...I've tried them all...ones priced much higher than this. Like some of the others have said, my skin also seems to be glowing from within.

This did not cause me any problems at all. I thought it was not really doing anything until after continuously using it for about 6 weeks when I began to show significant improvement, especially around my eyes. I will definitely buy again and I am getting the 1% MD version next time. I used it layered with a glycolic product every other night and just the Prevage on the other nights.

If I could give it a minus 5, I would! Having tried lots of antioxidants, I was very thrilled when this came to our counters. I tried it a few days and small bumps started to appear. I decided to stop for a while to let my skin recover. Tried it again after two weeks and the very next day my skin turned bright red, I could see a clear demarcation mark on my neck (I applied it all the way to my collarbones). This rash took over a week to heal. First two days I was bright tomato red and this caused me to stay at home. Then my skin started to tighten uncomfortably and finally started to peel. My eyes were also puffed up, very red and itchy and started to crust and peel a couple of days later. What added insult to injury was not long after that horrific skin reaction, the local counter called me and asked me how it was going. When I told the SA this she quickly mumbled something unintelligible and hung up! This is the Singapore counter and Singapore's cosmetics companies are really bad in returns. Actually I haven't heard of any return policy at all. Too bad for me. I paid USD150 for this lousy terrible experience, both with the product and with the lack of service!

Well even after reading the comments for this product I went out and purchased it. This review is for the full 1% version. I have been using it now for about six weeks and I had no problems. My skin looked great, although I didn't notice that much of a huge difference. I am in my mid 30's with normal skin. I don't have any breakouts almost at all and it takes ALOT to make my skin react. I've been using the product properly once per day in the mornings. Well I was hoping that it just had a bad reaction to using the Renova in the evenings. But I've been using that for years and NEVER had a reaction. Well yesterday morning I wake up with the itchy rash and bumps that the other reviewers mention and I mean ITCHY. My eyelids are RED and swollen a bit. With this huge crease on my eyelid and I was NOT using it on my eyelid. All along my jawline there are itchy bumps and my nose and lips are red and dry and flakey. I wish I could get my money back!! There goes 100 bucks. Because this rash has scared me so badly... I WILL NOT use this again and I say AGAIN...my skin can take most ANYTHING. I had used this 6 weeks before I got this rash and now I have an event to attend this weekend and I pray some of it is at least gone by then. I am using hermorhoid cream and benedryl to try and get rid of it quick. But even that stings my skin.. I think it was from my scratching breaking the skin. To say that only 5% of people will have a reaction is a blatant lie. Some may take longers than others.. but apparently this stuff is breaking most everyone out.
-update-
Well now it's been a YEAR since I first tried this garbage. One of my eyes has NEVER recovered. Where once I had normal skin, now the skin on and around my eyes is SU{PER sensitive. I also suspect that I might have contaminated my other skincare products at the time with this mess when I still had it on my fingers. I swear if I could sue someone for this I would. BE CAREFUL USING THIS!!

I am a 27 years old user and I love this product. Let me put this way, I used to have occassional breakouts, dry flakes but I still have smooth and wrinkle free skin. After using Prevage for a months, my face become smoother, and my mentioned problems seems gone. At that point, I am not sure if Prevage works or not. Until my BF saw my good result and took my Prevage for his own use. Then my previous problems came back to me. I took it back and after using 2 weeks again, the problems disappeared. I don't know whether I am addicated to it or not. However, the downfall of this product is: I am adding one more step to my skincare routine. I clean, then tone, then Prevage, then BHA and Mosturizer. I always want 1 product which I can use as an eye cream, for moisturizing, skin renewal etc. I may want to try Lancome Secret de vie next time. I also put Prevage aroung my eyes too and seems fine to me. But my freckels are still there and I think nothing help. I will buy this again.

I work in the beauty industry and love this product. I work for a cosmetic line that is strictly color so my skin care regimen is all over the place in terms of brands.
The main ingredient is the antioxidant Idebenone-this is the most effective antioxidant on the market, with substantial research and product testing done. If you see other products that say that it has Idebenone in it and it is not orange in tone then reread that package information. Their are a few products on the market that have names that are similar but do not contain this ingredient.
In terms of customer satisfaction in the cosmetic dept that I work in, I will be honest with you. 3/4 of us at work love it. The rest either didn't see any results and a couple actually got cystic acne from it. The very few customers that have returned it got a bad reaction from it. Do not put this around your orbital area--This was stressed to us by the Prevage Rep.
BOTTOM LINE_You are either gonna love it or hate it. The only thing to do is to try and if you don't like--Return it !!!!-you have a two month trial for this product no matter where you buy it--The company ALLERGEN stands by this policy--So if any snotty sales people try to tell you differently fight them on it!!!Hope this review was helpful

This ladies is a BIG scam. Now here is the scoop behind this product. The company that makes the main ingredient in Prevage idebenone used to sell idebenone to the company called Isomers too. In fact you can see a review somebody left under isomers. Isomers called the cream idebenone cream. The company that makes the idebenone cream said to isomers that they needed to charge more money for it in order to be fair to Prevage. Isomers was charing about $39.99 for a 2oz bottle. The people at isomers said no and dropped that company. Then they created this.Isomers Carnosine+ Antioxidant Complex - 1oz
An even better antioxidant than pure **IDEBENONE **- independent laboratory testing shows that Isomers Carnosine+ Complex is over 250 times more powerful than pure idebenone (an analogue of co-enzyme Q-10) as an anti-oxidant (using the Trolox Laboratory method)
Carnosine+ Complex is designed to help support skin elasticity
$39.99
Carnosine+ Complex is a patented pending proprietary complex that belongs only to Isomers Laboratories. What is Carnosine+ Complex?
Its key role is in helping address oxidation and glycation - both of which contribute to the cross linking of proteins (collagen and elastin are proteins). Isomers looked for powerful antioxidants to help the skin address the free radicals that are part of the everyday assault of the skin. But Carnosine does more - it also helps the skin address the everyday aging from protein cross linking - called glycation.
Benefits:
Isomers most powerful antioxidant formulation
Antioxidants help protect the skin from damage free radicals cause to the proteins of your skin: collagen and elastin
Free radical damage can affect the structure of proteins - collagen is the structural protein of bones, tendons, ligaments, and skin
More about Carnosine:
Carnosine is a naturally occurring dipeptide (small molecule) formed by linkage of amino acids alanine and histidine
Carnosine is found in relatively high concentrations in several body tissues - most notably in skeletal muscle, heart muscle, nerve tissue and brain, it's also found in food
Caronsine is a key ingredient because it has a multifunction role and scientists are just starting to unlock the many secrets of carnosine
Aging is associated with damage to cellular proteins, resulting in inter- and intra-molecular cross-linking - carnosine helps protect proteins from such metabolic damage in at least two ways:
-First, carnosine helps address the formation of oxidized sugars, or glycosyl radicals, also called advanced glycosylation end-products (AGEs)
-Second, carnosine can bond with potentially harmful carbonyl groups that attack and bind with proteins imbedded in the cellular membrane, and helps reduce their effect
-Both of these processes have important implications for anti-aging cosmetics, in that carnosine not only helps reduce the damaging cross-links from forming, it helps reduce the cross-links that have previously formed
Anti Glycation Effects:
-Aging is associated with oxygen free-radical induced macromolecular damage; in this process oxidised / cross linked / denatured proteins accumulate
-Non-enzymatic glycation can cause cross linking of proteins and formation of advanced glycation end products (AGEs), collagen is cross-linked in the course of glycation and the consequent formation of AGEs - this can rob the skin of elasticity and youthful tone
-Carnosine helps protect against protein cross linking (glycation)
You can only buy this on shopnbc.com
Sincerely Jen the huge beauty product junky

I've been using Prevage for about a month and a half, right about where I should be seeing results--If I'm going to see any. My opinion: For significant wrinkling, and/or freckling and marks on the skin, see a derm! The Prevage has been highly celebrated even in the media, as having the most potent anti-oxidant on the market. What is less focused on is that this is much less potent than the version available only from dermatologists. Prevage seems to have an mild exfoliating effect. However, I've had similar results from L'Oreal Visible Results. I suppose I don't have to rail about the price of Prevage? Less important is that the product comes in a startlingly ugly aluminum can. That might sound petty, but when a woman shells out half a car payment for a skin cream, one might like something that would have a trace of aesthetics?
I am starting to see the effects of years spent in an outdoor swimming pool minus sunscreen. The smell of Coppertone lotion brings back great memories. Unfortunately my skin remembers those summers with an even better *clarity.* I think it is time to see a dermatologist and STOP spending ransoms on products that have very little effectiveness. Remember ladies--the old adage still holds. If it sounds too good to be true...One last comment: Prevage does seem to cause fine breakouts on forehead and chin.

Now that I've been using Prevage for a month my skin did finally break out in the tiny blister-like bumps. They're all over my face, concentrated around my nose and mouth. I'm disappointed since I had such great results with this product and don't want to give up on it. For those of you who broke out as well - how did you get rid of the bumps, and were you able to continue to use Prevage? Will skin build up a bit of a tolerance for it? (BTW, I have the 1% rather than the 5%...so perhaps only using it once a day will help?)
1st Post on 4/13/15:
I've only used this for 2+ weeks, but I have noticed a marked difference in my skin tone. My PORES even appear smaller (is that possible?)! So far I haven't had any nasty skin irritations like I've read about, and I even apply it on my crows feet around my eyes. I'll have to check back in once I've been using it for more than a month; however, I'm just so thrilled with the results that I've already ordered another bottle on eBay as I DEFINITELY don't want to run out of this stuff. (Sidenote: I wear fiberglass nails, and this stuff seems to turn them yellow much the same way tanning beds do.??)

Will be a life time user!
I have seen mixed reviews on this product on serveral sites. I did not even look it up until I had already purchased it from my doctors office. Since I bought it from a medical professional, my Prevage is actually called Prevage MD and has twice the amount of the active ingredient. It also only cost $110, versus the over the counter cost of $150. So you could say I accidently got a good deal.
I just decided to use it daily, making sure my face was completely dry prior to application. I use it sparingly, apply quickly, and let it set up for a few minutes before putting on a tinted mointerizer. I wasn't noticing too much myself, but when people started staring at my face and asking me what in the heck have you been doing that's different cause you look so good, I decided that I will be using this stuff for the rest of my life. I still am not sure what it does, but it makes my skin look good. I would say I used it with no expectation for about six weeks before the comments started coming in.
The effects are subtle and take a while, so patience is mandatory.

I was sceptical that this product could really do what the salesperson said it would, but my face was beginning to lose elacticity and was dull. I am very impressed by the results. After only two weeks, I could see a noticable difference in skin tone and texture. Even the crease between my eyebrows was significantly reduced! After using the product for six weeks, friends and family are beginning to comment on how "rested" I look! I have used MANY other products that claimed to do what this products does -- and this is the ONLY one that has really delivered!

I was given this as a gift, and thank gods. I am in my late twenties, but I figured what the hey, it's never too early to use this kind of stuff. I hated it right away. The smell was funny, the consistency was off, it did not sink in well, it made me break out, and it just did not seem to deliver. I gave it to someone else and went back to my regular moisturizer, Anna Bellina's Signature Bliss Elixir, which has more than three times the amount of Idebenone and works exceedingly well. Do not waste your money on Prevage.

I love the results of this product. I am 50 with extremely sensitive/reactive skin to topicals as well as to foods I've eaten. I've also tried the IPL route which was helpful but extremely expensive. The EA 5% version of this product has given me results that surpassed the IPL treatments at a fraction of the cost. Most significant result is the shrinking of pores and the reversal of sun damage for a new evenness of tone. I only use it once a day and must use a good moisturizer with it as my skin does seem dryer with this product. When I have flareups of sensitivity I simply forego the product that night and then resume the following evening. The results keep building so I will continue to use this as long as that is the case. I have been at this for 2 months now and I'm now seeing a lifting of my mildly sagging jowels and area under my brows (yes, I do apply it fairly close to my eye area).

I am 50+ with some fine lines and sun damage. I received at least a 2 month supply of free samples at Nordstrom, otherwise I never would have tried something this expensive ($150.00).
My first few days were a little scary. My skin broke out in tiny blistery bumps around my lips and jawline. I continued to use Prevage in the mornings. The irritation dried up quickly, and after about 5 days I used a gentle scrub to exfoliate. Since that first few days, I have had no negative reaction.
I have been using Prevage for about a month now, and have seen a slight improvement in some sun-damaged areas. Dark patches and spots have definitely lightened or faded, but have not disappeared. I cannot see any other changes.
I like the product, but I don't think I'd pay the high price for the small improvement. Think I'll save my money for Botox.

I've been using Prevage for about 6 weeks now-the EA brand which is less concentrated than the one you purchase from a dermatologist. In my early 50's, i have some wrinkling, and found that in 6 weeks the rather deep vertical lines on my upper lip are maybe 75% improved! However, I see absolutely no difference in the one horizontal line I have above my left eyebrow ( I must lift one eyebrow- LOL!) and only slight improvement in the lines which run from nose to mouth. Those ones are very fine on me anyway. I have lines around my eyes only when I smile so I can't really gauge if there's been any change there and no firming at the jaw line, which is what I was really hoping for! As for the break-outs some are reporting, I too have gotten several pimples on my chin. But it doesn't take much for me to break out, so I can't really be sure if its due to the Prevage.I won't be buying this again, but due to the good results I've gotten around the lips, I will buy Idebeone(sp??) at Skin Actives and make up my own version of this product for 1/10th of the cost.
editing: I have sadly come to the conclusion that this product is responsible for the little whitheads I've been getting. I started appling it ONLY to my lines and, sure enough, that's the only place I break out.I haven't had further improvement in wrinkles either.

I'm in my mid-50s, with fair skin in relatively good condition. I have the requisite crinkles around my eyes, lines from nose to mouth, and fine lines around my mouth. I've used as directed the entire bottle of Prevage MD I purchased through my dermatologist. Although my face is usually sensitive, I can honestly say that I had no adverse reactions to Prevage, as so many reviewers have reported. I didn't mind the scent, and my face felt soft immediately after using it. However, I've had no positive response to it, either. I see no diminished fine lines, no faded sunspots, no difference in skin texture - no nothing. I was told by my dermatologist to give it a month to six weeks to work, and I've done that. I didn't expect miracles, but I don't plan to buy it again, at least not at the current price.
