I only tried this product once. I used it at night and when I woke up, my skin was greasy and a little dry at the same time, if that makes sense. My skin is normally oily with breakouts but this seemed to make my skin shinier. I noticed that most of Paula's products tend to do this to me. I don't believe I would try this again. I'll stick to my Serious Skin Care 2% BHA Gel!

This is perfect. I've used the 1% BHA lotion on and off for years to control breakouts ever since it was introduced. I live in the desert and the 100+ degree heat is murder on my oily/combo skin. Lighter products are a must in the summer. This product is not a thick gel, it's more of a liquid gel, but still dispenses OK out of the bottle without being runny. It has a great slip, spreading very easily and absorbing quickly with no stickiness or tacky feeling. It was so lightweight it felt non existent which was great under my sunscreen before facing the heat of the day. Like the lotion version, my skin feels nice and soft after using the gel. Because it has the proper ph for the BHA to exfoliate, I'm sure it will do the same great job helping to keep my face clear. I love the fact that this also has anti irritants and anti oxidants. Highly recommended

I just received my package of new PC 1% BHA Gel, and so far it's great. It's a clear gel that's a bit more liquidy than the lotion, but it just absorbs right into my skin. And immediately, my skin is smooth, and it seems radiant. The PC rep said the gel formula penetrates the skin better than the lotion. And I also like that there's green tea extract in this gel formula. I'll definitely update later with (hopefully) noticeable results.
UPDATE (8/11/04): This gel doesn't prevent or stop breakouts =(. When I do get a blemish, this gel diminishes it in size, pain, and redness, which is great, but it does NOT prevent breakouts..... =(
