I like the packaging, but this mascara definitely hasnít lived up to its name for me. The texture is quite thin and runny and perhaps thatís the problem, as the brush looks like it will add volume but instead they remain thin and you get a very natural look Ė and clumping with a few layers. Your lashes do look glossy and rich in blackness but I do like a bit of drama with my lashes and this doesnít provide enough. I probably wonít repurchase, which is a shame as I was hoping this would be a good mid-priced mascara for me.

I am IN LOVE with this mascara. I have been constantly searching for a mascara that would give me natural "but more" look to my lashes. Almost a just out of the shower look my lashes get. This mascara has finally given that to me! It makes my lashes look feathery and soft, but after a few layers, it also gives a ton of volume! When used with a mascara base, this really makes my lashes long and POP! I LOVE this mascara!!!

MAC NW15 to 20, medium brown hair now graying a bit, hazel eyes; "normal" lashes: I bought this mascara mainly because I had to return something at Sephora without a receipt (so I knew I would end up with store credit); because I fancied a new mascara (even though I have two fairly new ones right now); and because it had fairly good reviews. Well, I wan't disappointed! First off, the packaging is gorgeous: pink satin-finish cap on a "full-figured" black tube. Secod, with two coats, it applies quite nicely, not a lot of clumping (I don't believe that a nonclumping mascara even exists), A LOT of length (ironically), and moderate volumizing. I never get "raccoon eyes" or flaking with mascara, so I can't speak to those issues. You should know that I don't beleive an HG mascara exists: there are way too many confounding variables. However, as of this writing, I would buy this again despite the larger-than-I normally-spend price tag -- $16 -- but I'll update later to let you know how it fares with time. EDIT: Too gloopy. Will not repurchase.

On my quest to find the perfect mascara I stumbled upon Bourjois Volume Mascara. Entranced by the beautiful packaging and special offer price of £5.25 I had no hesitation in rushing to the till and purchasing the mascara. All on the way home i clutched it in my hand admiring the curves of the bottle and chic look it radiates. Finally the time had come i took the wand and aplied my fist layer of mascara. I was not dissapointed it curled and thickened in one sweep. I left to dry then applied another layer but alas - to my horror instead of invigorating my lashes further it had no effect. Not to be disheartened I continued to apply 5.. 6.. 7.. coats finally i had the look i wanted. You may think 7 coats of mascara is extreme but i wanted voulume, I wanted glamour and I wanted mascara. Okay so I got the mascara bit but where is the voulume and glamour I lust after?? This may be okay for those who wish to be inconspicous but i actually want my eyelashes to have impact when i flutter them. Looks like my quest for the perfect mascara continues...

I love this mascara!I just bought it recently at boots (i live in Uk by the way) for a great price-£5.25 cos it was on sale. Its the best one i've tried so far but i haven't tried any high brand mascaras. It doesn't give much volume but it gives a gorguss look to my lashes. One swipe and it makes my lashes lovely and long, holds a curl, seperates and i feel really defines my eyes. It gives more a natural look (if you want made up dramatic looking lashes with lots of volume then this mascara probs isn't for you although i thought i wanted a mascara that gave volume and thickness but i actually adore this one!its gr8 for daytime wear) and makes my lashes lovely and feathery and you can layer it pretty easily but the most i want to layer this is twice, maybe three times? When i first tried it, i noticed it made my lashes curl up in different directions (if u knw what i mean lol) but in a nice way.like a few lashes n the middle curl upwards, the lashes near the outer part of the eye curled up outwards etc. I love that! :) lol. None of my other mascaras did this! Its easy to apply to the lower lashes too!Volume glamour is also great because it's quick and easy to apply, doesn't clump or smudge easily and is pretty easy to remove.I think it's a great bargain and i defi will keep using it!i only got it because of the reviews on mua, thx every1! :) lotsa lv <3 xXx

I'm SO excited to see that this mascara is back and available in the States! I picked it up at Boots when I was living in England and LOVED it. Ten times better than Voluminous in my book, and gives a very smooth and clump-free application with the result of long super-feathery lashes, even on my thin clear ones. I was really impressed by it and I can't wait to pick some up again.

I guess I'm in the minority, but I don't like this at all! I have long lashes that are moderately thick, and this did nothing for them. I found it much too thick and goopy to apply correctly. The brush is big and bushy, and with such a pasty mascara, it just didn't work for me. I won't be repurchasing this one.

I think this is great. It's like silk in a tube and no the volume isn't great but because it's buildable.... you get TONS of volume when you apply more. My lashes are gorgeous right now. Love this, hope that it isn't discontinued though. Much better than yes for volume no for clumps, that just does zip on me!
UPDATE: I think this is HG material...my lashes are gorgeous and also are SOFT and not dry and brittle. It doesn't even feel like i'm wearing any mascara. So much for all those comb mascaras they are nothing compared to this "classic best seller". I will rebuy this as it's a decent price and it's just a beautiful mascara to use.

Hmmmmmm...This was a replacement for my old ysl effet faux cils, which I loved the look and colour of (a cool deep metallic purple that really brought out my eyes), but which irritated my eyes by flaking allot towards the end of the day. I chose this because it was the only drugstore mascara I could find in a purple colour. I'm dissapointed with a few things really: the wierd swimming pool smell, the mean wand and the not so chic packaging. It looks kind of tacky and poorly made. Tried to use my clean old ysl bursh with it, but its just too long to be kept in the bottle, (the bottle for ysl seems allot bigger, so maybe this is gram for gram just as expensive...). The result is much more natural, I can barely tell I'm wearing mascara. Will experiment with my curlers and my clinique all about lashes, and see if i can make this work, but my first impressions are that this is distinctly average and that you'd get more bang for your buck with an even cheaper brand.

Well, this mascara is everything but glamour and volume. It gives you an absolutely natural look, like you're not even wearing any mascara. It doesn't clump or flake, but when i put mascara on, i want my lashes to look more beautiful and this does nothing for them.

In spite of its name, this mascara won't give your lashes dramatic volume. One coat and you get defined and natural looking lashes. Very minimal clumping on me (I always comb through anyway so no biggie), holds the curl with NO flaking. Two coats gave me the same result as I would get with one coat of Max Factor Lash Perfection, but still softer to the touch than MF. This mascara reminds me of Clinique's naturally glossy. I was looking for a volume mascara but I do end up liking this one. Just know that this isn't a volumnizing mascara when you buy.

Whew! Bourjois brought this mascara back. Used to by my HG till Bourjois Maxi Fringe Waterproof came along. But alas, this is still a lovely mascara. Holds curl, provides natural looking volume and does not clump. Comes off easy with regular eyemake-up remover and the tube is really cute. Only downfall is this mascara has to be replaced every 8-10 weeks, but the price is reasonable. I have yet to find a drugstore mascara that makes me happy, but Volume Glamour performs just as well as the pricey, up-scale mascaras such as Lancome, YSL, and Chanel in my opinion.

I'm on my second tube of this, and it isn't as HG for me anymore. I used this at the end of last year, and was utterly impressed with it, but this bottle doesn't seem to have any volumizing capabilities. Natural for daytime, but lengthens much more than it thickens, which is not what I need. Maybe it needs to age a couple of weeks.
For those of you worried, I was at Sephora in Anaheim over the weekend, and they were fully stocked in all: black, brown, and purple, with testers out.

I used to use this back at school and had since got into a trap of buying expensive mascaras. I'd forgotten just how good a mascara this is! It doesn't clump, gives decent length and volume and washes off fairly easily at the end of the day. Prior to this I was using YSL False Lashes mascara which cost more than twice the amount and didn't even compare. It clumped, irritated my eyes and flaked terribly. This is a great budget option (well, it isn't the cheapest mascara you can get, but it's reasonable. I find the really cheap ones tend to be awful).
I'm concerned that they may discontinue this as they now have the new volume mascara out (which I haven't tried, but it doesn't get as favourable reviews as this one). I buy this from Boots and they've stopped stocking it in brown, which is a shame as it was a really nice rich brown and looked nice with my colouring.
EDIT 24/11/06 Had to stop using this (along with Clinique Naturally Glossy Mascara) as it started to irritate my eyes. I think my eyes are becoming more and more sensitive! I'm currently using One Coat Nourishing Mascara' by Almay and am pleased with it so far.

I love this stuff--doesn't clump at all and I don't think I could say that about many other mascaras. glossy, smooth, and decent volume, but it's not super-volumizing. great every day mascara. I like it much better than Bourjois' newer volume mascara, Pump up the Volume, so I'm glad to see Sephora is still carrying the black, non-waterproof Volume Glamour (the only color they still seem to carry), though I wonder for how much longer.

The brush is small (unlike Diorshow) and this is not clumpy.
Not much volume or anything really

why didn't i try this mascara sooner?! no wonder this mascara is always sold out! its AWESOME. it gives me the exact look of Chanel's instant lash at half the price and it even hold the curl better! i love that i can layer it one without my lashes getting clumpy or dry looking. i just hope its not discontinued =O( because my local sephora didn't even have the tester out anymore. it doesn't flake or smudge, it separates, thickens, lengthens, leaves my lashes looking glossy black, and it even holds the curl all day. as an added bonus its even easy to remove at the end of the day!
Age: 19-24 Skin: Combination, Fair Hair: Other Eyes: Green
i bought this mascara expecting it to be great and perhaps this is why i'm not so thrilled about it. it was ok, separated my lashes nicely, didn't clump and didn't irritate my eyes. the problem is it didn't give me much volume either. when it comes to taking it off, it's just like with any other mascara: not easy enough :)
Age: 18 & Under Skin: Combination Hair: Brown Eyes: Green
Cons: It did give volume, but only a tiny bit. The 'length' was fibers hanging off my lashes, which looked messy, but I could live with it.
Pros: It held a curl and wasn't hard and crunchy-feeling. It also wasnt hard to remove, but it lasted the entire day. The packaging is good-quality and so adorable.
I would buy this product again, but I wouldn't call it an HG.

Guess that one-lippie rating gave it away . . . here's another one I won't be buying again. Volume Glamour was even worse than Pump Up the Volume. Volume Glamour has a better brush, but that's all that's better about it. The mascara gives no length, no volume, and definitely no glamour! As for performance, Volume Glamour was just as saggy as Pump Up the Volume, although I don't think it smudged quite as much.
Returned this along with Talons and Pump Up. Bourjois is safely off my list! ;)
