I ordered what seems like a billion fragrance samples from various perfume merchants, and this fragrance was one of them. I was HIGHLY anticipating it's arrival in my mailbox, and I have to say that I am NOT dissapointed in the least!

I have been looking for the perfect vanilla that doesn't smell like your generic, everyone is wearing it vanilla. But I also need it to combine well with my favorite lotion, which is Jacqua's Buttercream frosting. This fragrance is so powdery and vanilla-y all at the same time, I can't decide if I want to cuddle it and rock it to sleep or eat it. It reminds me of the smell of my daughters neck after a bath, which has always smelled like a mix beetween mild soap, food scented shampoo and cookies. This fragrance smells like happiness to me.

I find that this fragrance is long lasting, but not too strong and overpowering. It lasts about 8-10 hours, but those last hours are very weak smelling, but there.

I'm wearing this fragrance today, and I can already see that it's going to be difficult for me to try out the rest of the samples I ordered, because I LOVE this one!

At first I thought, "Maybe...let's give it a chance." Within 15 minutes, I was scrubbing in the bathroom sink. No, no, no. Way too sweet and just plain weird. Totally get the almond thing and something else to do with babies...can't place it, though. It's either powder or ointment, not sure. Whatever it is, I don't want to wear it.

How I wanted to LOVE this!!! In the midst of my desperate search for a winter fragrance I ordered a sample of this!! Don't get me wrong...I like this scent but unfortunately, the one note I get most is baby oil!!! There great note of honey, cherry, amaretto but everything is downplayed by BABY OIL....Must be my body chemistry. Sniff!!!

I adore sniffing this on my wrist after it has settled down. It reaaly is a a lovely, comforting sweet /warm rather playful scent. My friends love it though my husband doesn't like it ("it smells too strong, like vanilla or something")- he doesn't care for fragrance and can't tell rose from Lemon so his opinion doesn't sway me. I probably won't repurchase as 75ml will last a long time and I've 5 full bottles fragrance to get through.

I have a large sample of this, but I think I even won't finish this.
After all these good reviews, I expected a really outstanding, sexy fragrance, but for me, this smelled like some kind of cough syrup.
I really love sweet fragrances, but this one is just too sweet and some kind of artificial. Cherry is very dominant, but not in a pleasant way. Maybe it's my body chemistry, but this fragrance smells absolutely cheap and sickeningly sweet on me.

Update: cannot explain, but tried this again and loved it... Cosy and embracing bedtime fragrance. Maybe it's a question of dosage, I tried very little and it smelled wonderful. Will get a decant of this as an entire bottle is too much, this fragrance is soo strong!

I prefer Keiko Mecheri's version of Loukhoum to Serge Luten's Rahat Loukhoum.
This is the dreamiest scent ever. Powdery, but in the best way - almost like powdered sugar with almonds. A great scent to wear to bed.

This is the fragrance world's answer to comfort food in a scent. I find it deliciously comforting, cozy, cuddly, and warm. My husband finds it downright sexy. I get the cherry and pastry notes but baby powder? Didn't pick that one up at all. This scent is a bit like walking by a bakery and catching a whiff of the goodies as they're coming out of the oven. I enjoy some of the gourmands, and I think this one is absolutely beautiful. Five deserved lippies!

why is everybody saying that it smells like baby powder? that didn't even enter my mind. to me it smells like vanilla, roses, and musky, woodsy notes. it's definitely the SEXIEST fragrance i've ever owned. i just bought mine yesterday & i'm hooked! i stumbled upon it when it was suggested for me by the makeup girl. i honestly LOVE it.

it reminds me of real good food, blissfull orgasms, candlelight dinners, and disneyland simultaneously. its THAT good. the only thing that is a drawback is the generic packaging. they need to change the bottle into something womanly and voluptuous.

I received this as a sample from an E-bay perfume merchant. I love it. It's very powdery and sensual. Some MUA reviewers have said it smells just like baby power. I admit to the powdery quality being there but it's so much more than that. According to one web site description, "Rich vanilla and precious woods ease into a soft, powdery drydown that is hypnotically soothing." I concur. The notes are said to be hawthorn blossom, bulgarian rose absolute, precious woods, vanilla, Comores flowers, white almond, and musk. Loved it.

Baby powder made edible. I've never had loukhoum, but this reminds me of another traditional confection, baklava, which has the same syrupy stick-in-your-throat quality. I give it a 3 because I do think it's a well-blended example of its type--just not a type I like.

This smells exactly---EXACTLY---like baby powder-scented deodorant on me. Sure, not an offensive scent, but I want my perfume to smell like PERFUME!

*Stunned silence* I've never smelled anything quite like this. A rich, true, carmelized honey... with a hint of baby powder. Very foody, it reminds me of a honey-drizzled crossiant. Quite simply, it might be the foody perfume I've been looking for. I'm hard to please - spoiled by single-note etailer foody scents - and this is the most deliscious thing I've smelled in a long time. Mmmmm... It's just so... HEAVENLY. Mmmmm... Me, liking baby powder?! I feel like a new woman. I can't get over this. It's absolutely deliscious! I want to eat it, I want to bathe in it, I'm comforted by it... I've finally found a perfume that might just do it all. (Sigh).

Very sweet, edible, with a pronounced rose note. I'm not huge on foody scents but I will gladly hold on to the decant sent by a generous MUAer to get my yummy vanilla candy-rose fix. Pretty nice for a gourmand fragrance. Unfortunately, it's also a bit headache-inducing. EDIT: Well, guess what. Those headaches are now unbearable. I can't wear this fragrance, it makes me sick every time. It's really too sweet, something about the initial scent makes wearing this a real trial. I will stick with SL's far superior scent version of the turkish delight.

YUM YUM YUM! I simply ADORE this fragrance. Compared to my beloved "Oh Baby" by Scents by Terri, this one I get tons of "whatcha wearing" questions. The Oh Baby gets more, however, especially when Oh Baby is blended especially for me. I'll go spray myself w/this $80 fragrance (a bit overpriced) and sleep the morning away, snoring in baby powder/vanilla bliss.

Holy almond powder, batgirl! Super-strong. I don't hate it but it's a little too up there and out there for me.

After trying Serge Leutens Rahat Loukhoum I thought it might be good to give this a try since many have mentioned it doesn't have the extreme cherry note that Rahat does. Very true indeed! The cherry in Rahat is what made it a no for me and I wished it was not so pronounced. Keiko Mecheri's rendition is infact, exactly what wanted! Beautiful, rich, sweet goodness. Can be a bit overwhelming, it will be a fragrance that I reach for occassionally more then frequently but I do love it enough to have a full bottle.

Oh this is pretty and sultry. It starts out powdery and sweet, with a soft hint of cherry (no cough syrup or hard candy here) and an almost floral almond note. The powdery note fades quickly. On me this becomes a warm almond cherry and vanilla combination that lasts a long long time. Very sexy.

It's so unique, foody-sweet, sexy and flirtatious...but it works only in cool weather for me. When I bought it, the weather was cool and it elicited raves and compliments from friends and strangers. Once the weather became warm and humid, I started getting scrunchy-nosed 'looks'. Alas, Loukhoum will be put in the closet until Autumn. EDITED 1/3/2006: Tried it out again and even in the cold it's too sweet and cloying. Ick.
EDITED 9/29/2008: If you want something similar to Loukhoum but less powdery and without the pricetag, try TokyoMilk's Honey and the Moon Parfum. I saw this cutie at my local Anthropologie and it was $28 for 1 oz. It's described as "a twilight rendering of honey, violet, jasmine and sandalwood", and on my skin it was very sweet and reminiscent of Loukhoum.

I really like this one. It is very heavy on the powder and the almond especially. I do not get any cherry at all, unlike Rahat which on me was way sticky sweet cherry. this is powder, vanilla. It is not at all a real "fresh" scent. not to say it is musty or anything, just not a fresh summer citrus type at all. I also like Kenzo Flower RED and POTL to give you an idea of others i enjoy in the same grouping. If you enjoy those, this may be for you. Not spicy like POTL, and not musky like Kenzo Red though.UPDATE: this is still lovely, but it is too sweet for me, and a bit too foody and powdery after all. This is a nice scent, but i could not wear it every day.I swapped it with someone.

Keiko Mecheri's Loukhoum really grows on me! I sampled it and bought it on a whim two weeks ago, and I like it more each time I'm wearing it. I love how softly this complex fragrance develops after the application, evolving layer after layer, pistachios, powder, vanilla, I just love its various nuances. Staying power is also very good. I'll try more of Keiko's creations.
