As much as it pains me, i would get another tube once this finishes.
I like the nude shade and mild coverage the TM gives. Another plus would be that it's light and also doesnt cake or streak.
Though the major drawback would be as many have mentioned, the hefty price tag. Also, i dont really like the tube packaging as i find the residue that dries at the opening pretty gross.

This is Bobbi's best foundation hands down. It's light, easy to blend, does a great job of evening out my complexion and moisturizes without being greasy. It really makes my skin come alive and looks very natural. It's on the orange side, but the sheerness makes it workable for me. Like all of her foundations, this has a tendency to rub off on everything. I need to blot my face periodically, even if I use her loose powder to set the TM.

The only thing I really dislike about this TM is the price. $50 CAD for a tinted moisturizer is, frankly, too much. In any case, after reading and hearing so many good things about, I bought it on impulse. I have to admit, I love this stuff. I'm still debating whether it's really worth the money, but I _do_ love it. I don't use it as an all-over foundation, however. I like to spend as little time getting ready in the mornings as possible (because it means I get more sleep), so I basically just moisturize my face like usual, and then use my fingers (used to use a brush, but it's too much work) to add dabs of this TM wherever I have redness/blotchiness: forehead, cheeks, and nose. Then I just blend it in, and it's perfect! The coverage of this product is great--sheer, but still gives enough coverage to help hide obvious imperfections. (I just want a natural finish; I'm not into full coverage foundations because they make me feel like I'm wearing a mask.) And yes, you do have to moisturize before applying this product. It does have moisturizing properties, but not enough. It's sort of like a 2-in-1 shampoo/conditioner--you shouldn't trust it to get both jobs done and done well. If anything, you should at least moisturize in the areas where you are particularly dry. Some people might hate the smell, but I actually like it! If it makes a difference, it doesn't leave a lingering scent. I would buy this product again, but the price tag really makes me hesitate... I think I might try out MAC's Select Tint first.

I really like this tinted moisturizer. I have skin which tends to flake in the winter and foundation usually worsens it. I wanted something that would provide me with coverage without making me look cakey. This does the trick. However, I have to agree with the other reviews which say that it isn't super moisturizing. I still use my regular moisturizer underneath this. It's pretty expensive, but a little bit goes a long way.

This is all I'm ever going to use on my face (unless I run into something better ;D). I've had such a hard time finding foundation, powders, etc. that didn't make my face look like a mask. I decided to switch to a tinted moisturizer. I tried this, and I fell in love. I use a tiny amount all over my face and then I apply my concealer and translucent powder, and I'm all set. It doesn't look like I'm wearing any makeup, but my skin looks great. This is a great alternative to using foundation. It's pricey, but one tube will most likely last me awhile.

This is not a tinted moisturizer as its name suggests, but rather a foundation that gives sheer, natural coverage. It's been years since I have liked a foundation this much. The finish is not too matte, nor is it too dewy. Most importantly, it does not accentuate my wrinkles.
As I have gotten older, I have had a hard time finding a foundation that gives decent coverage, without imparting a mask-like appearance to my skin. When I use this product, my skin looks smooth, natural and fresh. If you have dry skin like I do, be sure to use this foundation over your regular moisturizer. Despite the name "tinted moisturizer", it does not hydrate your skin. ***Edit 04/23/09: I've had to give this up. My skin is really aging quickly now that I am 52 and this foundation makes my dry skin look chalky. This is a great product, but it's not for me anymore and it's time for me to move on. I'm now using Chanel Lift Lumiere.

This moisturizing tint goes on smooth and easy and really does a great job hiding the redness. However, moisturize it does not!

While it's just my opinion, I think this is possibly the best TM on the market.
My two best girlfriends bought this for me several months ago for my birthday and I have to say that I'm glad they did. I have tried many TMs and light moisturizing foundations in order to find something just to help even out my skintone. Originally, I was looking for something that would moisturize and even out my skin tone and that would look good under my mineral foundation. Now, I can say that I don't even need to wear mineral foundation anymore....
I use this TM in Alabaster - light enough for my fair skin tone with just a hint of yellow that helps even out the pink undertone of my skin. I apply this with a foundation brush by squeezing a dime size dollop on the the brush and then putting a bit on each cheek and then my chin, nose and forehead. I basically blend until I feel like everything is covered and I'm done. Personally, I find this gives me enough moisture for the day and I don't feel like I look "dried out" by the end of the day...of course, I use this over Bobbi's Intensive Serum so that may be why. After I finish with the TM, I do use a concealer and hit the "high spots" with a little powder. That seems to do the trick and I end up with a nice, natural look and coverage.
While I do notice a fragrance with this TM, I do not find it offensive as others have mentioned which may be because I use some of Bobbi's skin care which the TM smells similar to. I feel like this has more of a botanical fragrance (lavender???) than anything. I have not noticed ANY breakouts from using this which I find absolutely amazing. I think this TM is a great product and I think it's pretty obvious from this review that I'll be repurchasing.

I am not a fan of Bobbi Brown...but i love the fact that they have most of their cosmetic shades in yellow undertones since i have a very pale yellow undertone...So I thought i would give this one a try!
It felt nice when i first put it on...but in a span of few minutes my skin felt very uncomfortable and the smell was unbearable!!
However it didnt cause me any breakouts or redness but there was something very wierd about this tinted moisturizer...My 'normal medium coverage foundation' feels light on my skin but this product kinda felt heavy on my skin!
Wouldnt repurchase this for sure!!

It pains me to admit that I intend to purchase this product again, but Bobbi Brown's Tinted Moisturizer in Alabaster is one of the few products that doesn't stand out as being a dramatically different colour than my face, or more importantly, my neck.
Why am I upset? Let's start with the smell, which I experience as 'rotten cucumber meets melting plastic drinking straw', an elegant fragrance, to be sure.
I'm also more than a little confused about why a tinted moisturizer would have absolutely no moisturizing effect on my skin. Does 'tinted moisturizer' mean that you can get away with a less precise application technique than foundation demands? Am I high for expecting that something called a moisturizer is meant to moisturize the skin?
Then, there's the lie of this product providing sun protection. We all know that if you apply a TM or foundation heavily enough to protect yourself, the attention you'll attract won't be the good kind. Strangers will stare at your melting face. I can only wear this in the very early morning or after sunset. The chemical sunscreen in this product really should be washed off your face after a few hours, if exposed to UV. Even with SPF 41, I tan through covered windows, so I'm more concerned than many are with SPF.
If your skin has a flake, this will highlight it. If you have deep pores, this will settle in them, and fairly quickly. If I try to layer it, it looks disgusting. The chemical sunscreen really should be washed off your face after a few hours, if exposed to UV.
I often break out after wearing this, in what could possibly be 'oxide pox'.
These are not good qualities, but I sacrifice incredible finish and creamy moisture, because I know that I look like an idiot if I go wandering around in public with something on my face that's pink or orange. Bobbi Brown's Tinted Moisturizer in Alabaster is neither pink nor orange, and it's almost pale enough for me year round. I will break up with it as soom as I can find something that doesn't have a matte finish, doesn't oxidize and change colour on me, doesn't trigger worse breakouts than this product does, and doesn't reek like a rotten melting plastic cucumber.
At least a little goes a long way. My tube went off before I was even halfway through, perhaps because gnomes are entering my cupboard late at night and refilling my tinted moisturizer while their little friends hide my keys.
Good thing, to, because if I could find them, I might go drop $40 on another tube. And I don't even love it.....
*EDIT - I don't think there's any way I can go back to using this, mostly because of the smell, but also the fact that petrolatum doesn't agree with my skin. I don't feel like paying this much money to put the cheapest thing BB can scrape together on my face. It's just rude to charge this much for something with a label that reads like a lower end drugstore product. If I can't get a shade that matches from a brand that produces a quality foundation, I'll go bare. Seriously, I'll walk around looking like a bum, rather than return to wearing this.*

I have been all over the board in search of the perfect tinted moisturizer and, aside from the price, I think I have found my perfect one!
The formulation seems like it would be too runny on first squeeze, but it actually goes on great and provides much more coverage than Stila, my previous TM. It also gives my skin a nice glow, as if I used a subtle highlighter mixed in. The packaging is great--flip top cap at the bottom so product comes out easily. This was a big gripe for me with my Stila, which I found difficult to squeeze and always ended up having to buy a new bottle before I actually ran out.
My only two gripes are the price ($40 plus tax) and that it created a bit of an irritation over some sunscreens. However, a little goes a long way with this, and the sunscreen in question is not a favorite of mine anyway and I have not had the same problem with other sunscreens. Overall, a winner.

I used this product last summer and really liked it. It is more like a sheer foundation than a tinted moisturizer and I don't think it moisturizes that well but since my skin isn't dry that wasn't an issue for me. I previously used it over pores no more make up base from Dr. Brandt and it worked very well and I thought the color was nice. However, I have been using it this summer on its own and find that it oxidizes a little without the primer. I bought it in medium and the color is also too orange/dark for me unless I have a lot of sunless tanner on. I don't know if this simply means I need to go a shade lighter or if her colors are too orange for me, I bought medium last year and don't remember having the same problem.

I use this in medium dark when I'm tanned over summer and medium for the rest of the year. I love LM products but I struggle with her shade range. Bobbi Brown has more realistic colours and I definitely find it an easier match. I found other cheaper tinted moisturisers were a bit difficult to get even and streak free applications, or their texture went funny after time, but BB's has maintained it's smooth consistency and finish. Also you really don't need much at all so although the tube looks small, it does actually last. One con is that when I sweat, it melts off and my sweat beads take the concentrated colour of the tint so it's a bit grim and orange looking. Also it does rub off easily if say I wipe my mouth with a tissue after eating.

I started using this over the summer for a lighter option to foundation and I think it is a very good T/M (I have also used Stila's and like that as well). A little goes a long way and at first I would always put too much on my fingers . I find that if I use a buffing brush after I put it on I get a very nice smooth finish that stays dewy looking all day. It does a decent job of evening out my skin tone as well. I apply sunscreen underneath it as I prefer more protection than the SPF15 in this and I also put a dusting of powder on to help it stay put.
As with all Bobbi Brown cosmetics the price is high but the quality is always there and the products are usually generously sized . So, while I would not call anything this company has to offer a bargain, I would say that I am willing to pay for the quality and dependability of the products and in my mind that makes them a good value.

This is overall a good product. It gives a reasonable amount of coverage and most important I love this cos it evens out my skin - gives it a clean, glowing appearance and covers up a little redness plus it moisturizes! =) I use the light to medium. However, it does start to get my skin a little oily after wearing for a day... especially when the weather's humid... so i need to blot or clean up. that's pretty much the only setback in terms of using it... it's rather pricey too but i'd still consider getting it again.

I've been looking to try a tinted moisturizer for some time, but really researched products before trying BB. I really do love it! My skin doesn't look so "made up" now and it's perfect for a summertime base. I notice that since my skin is a little more oily in the summer heat, I have to put a little more powder on my nose...but that's a small adjustment to a wonderful overall product. Wintertime will be the best useage for me, since my normally oily-combination skin gets extremely dry in winter. Can't argue with some of you about the tube. When I turn it upside down, and then try to use it, a lot of it is in the cap and around the opening! At $40 a tube, I sure wish they would design the opening so that none of this stuff goes to waste!

Overall rating: I would have put a "maybe" for repurchase if there was that option :-) I got a sample of this in Very Light, which was a great match for my NC15 to 20 complexion. I liked the texture of it as well as the coverage. I use it to tone down my redness a little bit, so if you like full coverage, you definitely won't like this. It's also unscented from what I could tell. The only reason I gave it 4 lippies instead of 5 is because there are 2 good d/s contenders for me: both Almay TLC and Almay Smart Shade.
Price: Fairly expensive high (I'm used to d/s prices), but not totally unaffordable; $40 for 1.7 oz.
Packaging: Stand-up flip-top tube.
Would I buy again: Yes, I might consider purchasing a full-sized tube now that I've used up my sample. I would use this more in the winter because I prefer a powder foundation when the weather is hot :-)

I have very dry, ultrasensitive fair skin - and I am fortunate enough to have a clear complexion. I only wanted a tinted moisturizer to cancel out some of the redness visible on my face. As much as I love the few Bobbi Brown products I do have, this was a complete disaster. It balled out as I was trying to work it in, it caused flaking and it successfully blessed me with three bright red pimples - not a pretty look. However, as with all cosmetic products, you shouldn't rely other people's opinions. Definitely try it out before you purchase.
