Used shampoo in conjunction with the conditioner...what a waste! The only positive thing about this product (hence the lippie) is the scent, fresh and clean. Used a couple of times and ended up with thick, terrible white build up on my scalp! I REFUSE to waste my $$$ on ANY pantene products. One more thing, how many times is this company going to the change the formulas and packaging on their products?! Must be a desperate attempt to lure consumers.

This is my favorite Pantene shampoo. I haven't experienced any negative effects like other posters have mentioned (hair fallout, etc.). I've used this shampoo since it came out and have had great results. I have straight hair, but it's very thick and can get frizzy. I'd like to think this helps to control it. Either way, it cleans nicely and smells great.

What happened? I used this once about 4 years ago in Louisiana where the humidity is high. My chemically straightened hair poofed like crazy. So I bought this with the matching conditioner and used everyday like the bottle said. And sure enough after a week, my hair was much much smoother, even after air drying. But then Pantene went and changed their formula, AGAIN, and now it does not work for me. I can't say it did any harm, my hair was soft and shiny, but it did not do anything for frizz at all. So no more to this.

Although my hair is already straight I wanted to try out the shampoo to see if it would work some magic my on my hair. It didn't make my hair fall out but it did weigh it down. It's much too heavy and I woulden't recommend to anyone. Pantene does work on some people's hair but not mine. Different strokes for different folks I guess.

Yes it does left my hair smooth and sleek, but I feel that I experience more hair fall if I use this shampoo. Plus, it doesn't make my hair shiny.

this shampoo did make my hair smoother and sleeker in the shower but when my hair got dry it didn't really make a diffrence. it made it a tiny bit shinier..this is a waste of money so don't spend your $5 on it

I have been using this product for 7 years. It really worked well on my hair. But in last couple of years I think they have changedthe formula. This is giving me horrible hair fall. So I stopped using it and started using redken which is really good.

I cannot believe the reviews this has been getting..i use to use the shampoo and conditioner of this and now all i use is the shampoo because i have no time in the mornings because i take an extra course now..it makes no difference to my hair..this shampoo makes my hair soft and shiny as if i used conditioner..and extremly clean..although residue is left behind on my scalp alot..i LOVE this

I'm not sure if this is because they changed the formula to include amino acids, but this turns me hair to staw. It became all crunchy. Though I didn't want to believe the pantene prejudice like a lot of other things, I'm realizing that this has a bad name for a reason.

ive came to the conclusion that all pantene products weigh my hair down..... sigh.... if it makes your hair fall out in clumps it might just be an allergic reaction, because thats what herbal essence and garnier does to me

I've been using this for quite some time and I don't think it's bad- but it's nothing impressive either. This is just an average shampoo...

This shampoo is horrible. I bought it because all my friends had great results with pantene. However, when i used it, my hair started falling out A LOT. I know that you usually lose about 100 hair or so per day, but it wasn't like that. I felt like i was gonna go bald because my hair kept on falling out in clump. I thought it was just me but it also happened to my sister. I stopped using it and a couple days later my hair went back to normal and didn't fall out as much anymore. That was my last time using pantene shampoo. Despite all the hypes and advertisements on pantene, i am still very wary of trying any of their products.

I got a great deal on this: on clearance for 3 bucks with a bonus conditioner. Definitely would not pay full price though. I switched to this after my Redken Smooth Down ran out and from then on my hair has been oilier at the roots than it ever was. Still not sure if it's the shampoo or the conditioner that's doing it, but since I don't put conditioner at my roots i guess it's the shampoo. Hopefully the same deal I got on Ice Shine won't disappoint.

ok, so i figured out this brand.the old formulation worked great, made my hair soft and shiny and bouncy, until they switched the formula to include more amino proteins (which if there is too much in a product will make hair dry). so i noticed that when i started using the new formula my hair was really dry like straw, and i have nice thick hair. The old formula was much better but that was discontinued about 2 years ago. so what i did was went to big lots and bought all the old formulas!

I've always thought Pantene was a good brand to use but I never really did up till a few months ago. I have coarse, straight Asian hair that is really dry. I used S&S and for a while I thought maybe my hair was getting better, but then my scalp started itching badly especially at my hair parting, and I was losing lots of hair! I'm only 19, so that's just crazy. I'm going to switch out to a more expensive/but better quality brand asap!

Made my hair very oily

Wow is it just my imagination or did this 'Smooth and Sleek' formula really made my hair just that?! I only used the shampoo without the conditioner and my hair is still very smooth, tangle free, and straight! I think I'm in love! The smell is incredable too! My bf loves smelling my hair because of this but the smell may be a little too strong for others. My mom uses this formula as well and also loves it! BUT I have heard that Pantene is not a good shampoo to use because it has too much silicone or something that only weighs down your hair and makes it too oily.. but even so, I still love it!! :D

Pantene's Smooth and Sleek shampoo is merely OK. Sure, it'll suds up and wash your hair. But it doesn't do more than that. Even though it's called "Smooth and Sleek," this formula did not make my hair smooth or sleek. I can thank this awful shampoo for the flyaways in my new driver's license photo. I looked OK when I left the house, but by photo time... I looked like I had driven to the DMV in a convertible! I'll have that picture for a long time and remember just how little this shampoo does what it's supposed to.
I have heard that Pantene makes hair feel smooth by coating the hair itself, which would explain why I didn't get much out of this. I wouldn't use it for more than a few days in a row, so I was probably undoing any "good" this shampoo was trying to do. I have fine hair. In reflection, getting smooth, sleek hair by weighing down my hair with coating isn't the best of ideas. If I want smooth, sleek hair, I'll stick to using Terax Crema conditioner after any other shampoo. It's both lightweight and makes my hair sleek and smooth.

i love this!!! this is the only shampoo that will help get my hair completely stick straight w/ no split ends!! im using daily moisture renewal now which is supposed to get rid of damage, but it just cleans my hair and doesn't do anything w/ the ends. use this w/ the conditioner, thermasilk leave-in cream and remington wet2straight straightener, and your hair will be stick straight without damage =)
*i only took off 1 lippy cuz sometimes my roots get just a little oily by the end of the day
