I tried Zapzyt because I had groups of zits all over my forehead and chin I put a medium layer of Zapzyt on my whole chin and forehead and everywhere I had any acne. When I woke up the next morning my skin was inflamed and red.My pimples were worse and my whole face was flaky burning dry!It only worked 2 times I had 2 huge zits on my forehead and I applied it directly on the pimples and it went away in 6 hours!
I would reccommend this product for people with relativeley clear skin who just get maybe 2 big zits at a time ad thats it.Do not use if you have dry or normal skin,I'd use only if you have very oily or non-sensitive oily skin.

I've been using Zapzyt every night for about three weeks. For two of those weeks, my face was obnoxiously dry. To be honest, this is not the greatest spot treatment. It only prevents pimples, and does nothing to treat the stubborn ones. Here's my acne: I get a cyst on my chin during my...more hormonal week of the month, and it usually stays for two weeks. I always have a couple of small pimples on my cheeks, sometimes on my nose, and a few whiteheads & blackheads on my forehead. A few pimples were prevented from showing up, but the dryness isn't worth it if the benzoyl peroxide isn't going to treat existing pimples. I will not try this again, but it's up to you. I like the fact that it is unscented, and by that I mean there is no fragrance, and no odor from the chemicals/lack of fragrance.

This is a great buy and the tube size is large (1 oz). I have used this in the past for any larger acne cysts and it has a dramatic effect, reducing them in just a couple of days. Yes, it's drying and if you use it every day, perhaps too harsh. This will bleach out your pillowcase, so either use an old one or use a white one. This is a great buy and very effective. I tried the Neut. On the Spot which may be good for very mild acne - but if you want the big guns - try Zapzyt. One negative, a bit gritty and feels like a lotion, not a gel. This is best used before bedtime without makeup.

I did really hope this would work out for me but, well, it didn't. It even dries out my skin a bit. So there is no reason for me to rebuy it! Anyways, I hope you guys have luck with it. It's dirt cheap, after all. So why don't give it a try? Just like I did and I'm not regret at all.

After reading the reviews here, I was so freaking excited when I happened to see this product at Wal-Mart. I happily snatched it up. I started out using it as a spot treatment in the morning and at night. Nothing. Where was the overnight diminishment of my blemishes? :( So I decided to start putting it all over half of my face, to see if it made a difference at all. It sure did make a difference--at the time I stopped using it, the Zapzyt side of my face had 7-8 current blemishes and about 3 healing ones. The non-Zapzyt side only had 2 healing blemishes. That's ridiculous!! Not only that, but I usually only break out at TTOTM, but I usually only get 2-4 pimples. Definitely not nine or ten!! I wanted to use the whole tube, in hopes that it would magically kick in and start working, but I just couldn't take it anymore. Won't even THINK about repurchasing.

I have tried it all, proactive, neutrogena, oxyclean, aveeno, clearasil, clean and clean, tea tree oil, basis, clinique, ponds, honey, aspirin masks, st. ives, and many more that I can't remember. Although I bought zapzyte two days ago, I would have to say it is the best product I have tried...so far. In a rush to see the acclaimed results I opened it and put it on after I came home. To my surprise, my pesky nodules and "underground" pimples turned into whiteheads the next day! Its still very early, but so far so good!
*UPDATE* Since using this my blackheads have disappeared and my pimples have ALMOST completely vanished, but for a price. Zapzyt has dried my skin so much, its kind of flaky now and scarred with dark spots.

It heals big pimples really fast. It is drying, but I am able to use it everyday once. I just made sure I moisturized. It is totally cheap too. I highly recommend it. It makes those volcano red pimples smaller the next day. The pimple will probably be gone in like three days. Maybe that is an exageration for some, but thats how fast it worked for me.

I litterally broke out about a week a go on my left cheek 4 huge lightbulbs to exaggerate what they looked like i read some of the reviews for Zapzyt and i thought what the heck ill try it I was in desperate need to demolish these buggers so i did this during my lunch plus got a salicyc acid cleanser to wash before putting the cream on instantly i could feel a tingle and of course experienced the dryness almost right away repeated the same steps at night and again next morning . Then Vowalaa! they shrunk not dissapeared but shrunk this made me very happy the only thing is that i have cut down to night time treatment of this product because my cheek is still in healing process from overdrying now im just moisturizing and pampering. This is now a part of my daily routine.

I'm so mad! I was hoping this stuff would put an end to my search for the occasional breakout. However, this did nothing for me. I have given it try after try- it didn't even irritate or dry out my skin. It was like putting water on my zit! Needless to say, I will not be repurchasing it.

My 14 y.o. daughter has been using Zapzyt for about 3 months now. This product has been amazing for her.
I bought her darn near every product for acne, ProActive, AcneFree, Abonne acne, Clear & Smooth and more - nothing worked like Zapzyt. A search of reviews here at MakeUpAlley led me to the product. Since she was switching products like crazy I asked her to give Zapzyt one full month to see results. She only uses a cleanser, ZZ and a moisturizer.
After 2 weeks of use, it was apparent that this product was working like no other. She no longer gets clusters of big red pimples, she may get an occasional pimple but the product dries it up within 2 days.
I remember the embarrassment of acne as a young teen--wish I had Zapzyt back then!! And for $4.00 per tube at Wal-Mart it's hard to beat. She does have some drying but a decent moisturizer helps that. I use it for the occasional breakout too and am thrilled with the results.

I have to say this is better than Persa-Gel 10% BP. My skin doesn't get as dry with Zapzyt. And for those of you that say its not a gel-like consistency, try PersaGel and then make your decision. Zapzyt doesnt leave white residue on my face but PersaGel leaves very obvious white marks and burns when I put moisturizer on afterwards. They both do about the same job as far as clearing up acne though. Guess I'm just partial to Zapzyt. Didnt mean for this to be a comparison b/w the two treatments but thats just the way it turned out. lol

I use 10% BP, no matter what brand. I started getting a population of whiteheads on my cheeks, in the middle of my face. One day, after trying everything else, I picked this up in the store. Never looked back!
It is an extremely drying product. Use it in a localized way -- but for me, that's localized over the entire middle of my cheeks.
Lately, I've realized that only a few hours a day of BP is necessary. Therefore, I wash my face w/ a mild cleanser at dinner time, around 5-6 in the afternoon, and layer on the BP. At this stage, I can *feel* it working as it eats the nasty pus out of those pores.
At bedtime, I rinse with some warm water. Then, a few nights per week, I layer on the honey. Yes, honey. I lie down for 30 minutes or so, then shower (or wash) with the mild cleanser again. Moisturize with fave product, and go to sleep.
In the morning, extra virgin olive oil as a moisturizer on those cheeks, then make-up, which takes us back around to dinner time and the BP treatment.
This works for me. The BP, honey and EVOO along with moisturizers -- I don't do things religiously, just as it feels like I need it. EXCEPT for the 10% BP. Without that, I might as well stick my head in a pillowcase before I walk out the door.
Best of luck to you!

emergency use is right! this product does get rid of pimples but is too strong for use above my cheeks. it dried out my skin so bad my eyelids were zapped of any moisture and became swollen for a couple days. after that, they became flaky and started to peel. i love my eyes too much to put this cream anywhere else besides my chin and i use it occasionally.

Worked like a champ. Amazing stuff. I've had one tube for over a year..and this is why it probably stopped working. You put it on at night and by the next morning, your zit has diminished to what looks likes a small needle puncture rather than an enormous eruption. I would buy again if I don't find anything better.

This cream is great. I use in when I get a breakout and, depending on the severity, the cream clears it up overnight or within a few days. Even on breakouts that cant be tamed overnight, you will notice a significant improvement the next morning. But be warned, this cream is VERY drying on your skin and shouldnt be used daily unless you want to experience intense pain when attempting to do such thing as smile or blink. I made this mistake and it took a month or so for my skin to adjust to the products drying effects. Unless you have major acne, it would be wise to use this cream on the occasional breakout and not as a part of your daily skin care regimen. Having said that, everyone should keep this product in their bathroom 'for emergency use only' because this is powerful stuff and it works. Nothing I have found compares to the results I get from this cream.
One more note of caution, this product will bleach out fabric if it comes into contact with it so be very careful when using it. I have had my bed sheets faded simply by sleeping with this one my face. I havent had such a problem since I have started using it on the occasional breakouts but still, be careful.

This product is a fairly good acne product. However, it is touted as being a gel and it has a cream consistency instead.
Also, you have to apply it lightly or else it will clump.

I LOVE this product. Before this I used the 2.5% BP product from Clean and Clear but for some reason that actually dried out my skin so I would only stick to using it as a spot treatment. However, even though this is 10%, it doesn't dry my skin out. I'm not sure what's making this happen. I tried it as a spot treatment which worked so well without drying up my skin that eventually i just used it all over. I've heard from other people about how it dries out their skin but for some super odd reason I can apply this all over every single night and not have any drying effects. It's made my skin so clear and I don't break out as often anymore. I didn't have any bad acne but once in awhile I would get these huge cystic pimples that would last for so long. Since using this, I haven't had any and my skin has remain clear. I am stocking up on this product!

I decided to try Zapzyt because of all the great reviews on this site and I'm so glad I did! I have been struggling with really bad breakouts for more than 10 years now and have tried everything from Proactive, AcneFree, birth control, tropical treatments, and almost every over the counter acne treatment you can think of. (I haven't tried Accutane because I'm scared of the side effects)
So of course if you can relate to my desperation in finding something that really works you'll try it. I would get frustrated because I would give each product that I would try for the first time anywhere from a month to several months to see if it would work. As others have said patience is the key to see if a product really does work but nothing seemed to help me.
When I first purchased Zapzyt about a month ago I was really skeptical about what the outcome of how my face would look because I had tried 10% benzoyl peroxide before through a prescription my dermatologist gave me and saw no improvement in my face. (Of course later I found out you really don’t’ need a prescription for 10% benzoyl peroxide) However, after the first couple of days of using Zapzyt I noticed a BIG improvement! My face was actually clearing up. I also noticed that my face was not as oily as it used to be.
I only use it once a day (at night) because I know that the concentration of benzoyl peroxide in this product will dry your face out if you use more than once. Also I use sunscreen but I've always had, I use Eucrein for my redness and sunscreen. I have found Eucrein to be very good for my sensitive skin. I also wash with a 2% Salicylic Acid cleanser in the morning and night but again only use Zapzyt once at night.
My guess about why Zapzyt works for me would be in their ingredients. Maybe Zapzyt does or doesn’t put something that other products use but whatever it is it's working wonders in my face. I highly recommend and will continue to purchase Zapzyt. I’ll give an update in a few months from now to see if I think different.
UPDATE (1/15/08): It's been 3 months now since I started using Zapzyt and am still very pleased with the results but I can't STRESS ENOUGH that you have to be careful with this product b/c it will dry out your skin and make it flaky. A little does wonders and would recommend not to put it on your entire face, just use on the affect area. Don't forget to use a good moisturizer to help with any dryness. I did try the acne wash that Zapzypt has but would not recommend even though it does do the job. I wouldn't recommend the wash b/c that's what dried out my face.

I was having problems with excess sebum on my nose, resulting in huge whiteheads every morning when I would wake up. I had hormonal cystic zits on my jawline, too, for about a week out of every month. Zapzyt has completely eliminated both problems. To me, it is a miracle.
