I have used this product for about 2 years now, so i don't know why I haven't written a review yet! I have tried many foundations and nothing compares to this one! I have gone swimming in this, used it as stage makeup, been in the rain, and it stays in place!! Yet it is not hard to get off if you have a good cleansing face wash. It controls oil quite well and does not make me breakout. And they just added a pump to this, so once I'm done with my bottle I will purchase the new pump version! Great product, can wear for casual day time or for night time activities too! =) Love it.

Well, I've been on another foundation binge lately, and this was one of the foundations I decided to try. I have oily, acne-prone skin, and figured after the research I'd done there was a good chance this would work for me. I'm pale, but the shade "Buff" is perfect for me as I do not have pink undertones. (Do you hear me world? Not every fair person is tinted PINK!!!!!!!!!!) Anywho, this has no coverage and managed to make my skin look dry. How that happens, I have no idea, but there it is. I washed it off immediately after the times I applied it, thinking maybe a different method would give better results. Nope! I wouldn't repurchase even if I were paid to. Which I wont be.

Overall Rating: 4/5
I just ran out of my Neutrogena Skin Clearing make up, and I saw that they re-did the packaging for this makeup, so I decided to give it a try.
Pros:
-Medium Coverage. You have to be careful and not use too much, or else it will look cakey. One, thin application is enough to fade most scarring and redness (I think thats why a lot of people find this to be cakey- They are using too much!)
-The pump! Its waaay more hygienic, and convenient. Definitely a plus!
-This is one of the only foundations that doesnt make me look a oily mess in less then an hour. I find that I dont have to blot for a few hours, which is exactly what I have been trying to find! (Controls oil even better then my Revlon CS)
-It has salicylic acid, which helps heal acne. Also a plus
-Shade 300 Naked was a very good match for my skin tone (Sand Beige in Revlon CS, NC25 in MAC)
-Transfer Resistant
-Not sure if this is a pro or con, but I find that best application with this foundation is either with a damp sponge, or your fingers.
Cons:
-This is MEDIUM COVERAGE, and it does not hide major bumbs and blemishes (which is fine with me- I hate the cakeyness that comes with full coverage foundations)
-This would not be good for dry skinned people, because it has so much salicylic acid in it.
-Its a bit pricey, but not unreasonably expensive.

Overall, I think this will be great for school. I will have to change to a different foundation for the summer, because salicylic acid apparently makes your tan fade faster :O Will update if needed!
****UPDATE****
I am STILL loving this so so much! Still lasts through most of my school day, natural coverage, easy application, and has not broken me out and is keeping my acne under control! Some one told me today that my skin looks flawless. I definitely dont have flawless skin, but this foundation makes me look like I do! Still only a 4/5 though, because its not full coverage/ lasts about 5 hours on me (my whole school day is more like 8)

Ok I love this foundation! It is a medium coverage foundation that smoothes out very nicely and looks natural! I can also sheer it out by using a damp cosmetic sponge or build it up to be full coverage by patting it in with my hands. I always set makeup with powder at least in my T-Zone and it lasts foreverrr! It doesnt oxidize or anything either! I have an extremely oily T-Zone with random dry patches on my cheeks and this leaves a very nice glowy finish and even though it contains salicylic acid, it does not dry me out. It also does not emphasize dry patches or make me any more oily than i would be otherwise. And although it doesnt cover everything up, you can pat a little bit more on problem areas and it covers them completely then! I also have the new version of the packaging that contains a pump! YAY!! :D btw I havent noticed it healing any blemishes but thats ok!

The buff is a bit light, and I recall agonizing how if I got the darker shade it would be tough to tone down. So i am rocking this in winter with a darker lip or blush to amp up the color. It does not look fake, but I still am searching for a matte holy Grail foundation. This is a bit light in color and lacking coverage for me. I have the old version with no pump, by the way. I will check the color range of
the new product In a few months.

I love it! Gives great coverage and it blends so nicely with my skin ! I'm a nc 20 and neutral 220 works well with my skin. I've used so much " high end " foundation before but I was never satisfy with them . I have very sensitive and acne prone skin, so I'm very cautious about what I put on my skin. Many foundations broke me out ! This one was an exception :)! It was so cheap too ! I will def. Buy again

So they changed the packaging and put up a nice little display at my CVS and that was enough to get me to buy it. I have been looking for a new foundation that helps with my combination skin since recently i found that Colorstay for Oily/combo dried me out a little.
The pump was a plus. I dont know how i used foundation without this before. Application was a little difficult because this foundation dries pretty fast, but i just dotted and blended one part of my face at a time and it worked out fine.
This foundation lasted all through work and I my shine was under control! I only set it with Almay's nearly naked loose powder, which was also a new purchase.
Now the color selection is not very vast, and I feel as though I COULD go down a shade, but I cannot for the life of me find the next shade down! I went to a bunch of different stores and couldnt find it. I picked up shade 300 (which i felt was going to be too dark) and the only other shade down was shade 100 (which would be way too light). 300 is perfectly fine, but I just want to find 200 so I can compare.
Now as for blemish healing, I do not know if it does that, but I can say my skin has not broken out. The oil control is great though and it doesnt over-dry so this is a major winner in my book!

I bought this foundation in sand. I've only used this foundation once but felt the need to write a review because it lasted all day! I have super oily skin, nose, forehead, cheeks, chin, you name it. By the end of the day I felt the oiliest part of my face (sides of nose) and felt NO oil. This foundation comes in a glass pump bottle which is always a plus. Medium to full coverage. I apply with foundation brush. This covers all my breakouts when I pay special attention to blemishes, I just dab some of this on my problem areas. Two cons: small color selection, but the colors they do have are good. No oompa loompa or simpsons shades. Also this foundation seems hard to remove. I use cetaphil normal/oily cleanser & it didnt remove my makeup completely even after two washes. Still impressed though. I'll take more time washing my face at night if it means having a shine free face all day! Hopefully i continue to have success with this foundation & no breakouts. Fingers crossed! Will update review in a couple weeks.

Well they finally listened to their customers and added a pump. Of course this increased the price too. I figured it was worth trying so I picked it up. I have been using the acne solutions from clinique and like it but this is half the price. Application was a nightmare. I could not apply without looking streaky and it building up in my pores highlighting them. I tried sponge, fingers and brush and it just looked awful. The best I got it was one thin layer but that didnt cover anything and wasnt buildable either. I was so disapointed, I really wanted this to work. Removal was a pain, I had to do a triple cleanse to get it off and ended up having breakouts because of this. Big fail.

I have only been using this for about a week, but it is the only foundation that has not broken me out. Even smooth operator broke me out in horrible cysts. I like this okay, but i'm scared my skin is going to freak out if i stop using it.
I am also very surprised this didn't dry my skin out, because i have extremely dry skin. I use my VitaZing underneath and things seem to be going alright. I'm NW10-15 and can wear both Ivory and Buff.

At first, I wasn't sure about this product. Itwas at Walgreens on sale for $4, so I thought why not give it a try. I had been using BE mineral makeup over the summer, but after losing a lot of my tan, I needed more coverage for the winter. I tend to have hormonal breakouts, but would consider my skin type to be more combo oily in summer and combo dry ish in winter. This has made my skin a lot more dry. In the morning it makes my face feel extremely tight, even with extra moisturizer and primer, and sometimes cakey and flakey in certain spots. Usually by lunch time its better and just looks normal, not oily not matte. It provides pretty good coverage, I still need concealer for blemishes, but other than that it covers nice. Won't be buying again for winter, but I think it would be great for summer or someone with oily skin. Stays true to color and didn't oxidize on my face, but it was hard to blend (im thinking because of the dry skin issues).

I got this as a gift for Christmas and I am in love with it. I've been Useing it for 3 weeks and I havn't noticed a different with my acne and the lightst color ivory is a tad to dark but I add a little bit of macs fix + and it works fine. I have it for oily skin type and it works amazing. It gives medium coverage and stays well a primer.

Not a fan. My acne is mostly on my chin, around my mouth and neck. It is not red and bumpy, it is mostly whiteheads and cyst like pimples on my chin. My t-zone is oily and my cheeks are dry. This foundation made my t-zone oiler and my cheeks dry. D'oh! The coverage is medium, the finish was dewey. I set it with powder and my face was still a little "glowy". I don't know if it helps with acne because I haven't used it long enough to find out. I'll stick with revlon colorstay instead!

This foundation is just ok. I got it at Target on clearance for under $4.

PROS:

-very blendable
-nice color
-feels light

CONS:

-minimal coverage
-haven't seen any "healing blemish" qualities
-the bottle is a pain

Overall I'll keep it because it was so cheap. It won't be my go-to foundation, but I'll use it on lax days where I don't need to look amazing or have amazing coverage.

I have this in Honey 320. There's not enough yellow undertone in it. When I put it on, it makes me look darker.
I tried it in Sand Sable 260 (one shade up) and it's too light.

But from my experience wearing it a couple of times (mixing the shades), I did like the consistency of the liquid; it's easy to blend. It leaves a nice semi matte finish.

I won't repurchase because I need something that better matches my skin color.

This is my go to daily foundation. It provides moderate coverage, but is easily build-able without looking fake or cakey. I have really temperamental cystic acne and recently had a TERRIBLE breakout, like the worst of my life, and this product covered up enough to make me look presentable without looking like a have a full face of makeup. This is the only foundation I have ever tried that does not affect my acne at all. My only gripe is the packaging, but I recently spotted a redo of this product with a pump top! Can't wait to finish off this bottle and get one that is easier to use!

Overall it was a pretty okay product. It defenatley did not cause any acne, but I'm not entirely sure that it healed. It went on okay, not bad at all but I wouldnt say it was great. Just a very average product with medium coverage. Covers marks and acne scars well, but you might need allitle extra for the bumps. The color I had matched my skin well, so it looked good on me. Very matte finish.

Update: Almay and Revlon have been reassigned to animal testing status, and I am disappointed, but I stand by my original review below. I've removed 1 lippy as after a few years, I've tried new foundations and in comparison, this one is fairly average (hence the 3 rating). I will still recommend this to friends as my skin is unnecessarily difficult to please, and the colour selection is great for yellow-toned individuals (Asians).

-----------------------------

This is very close to being my HG foundation. I've been using it for 2 years and have gone through 4 bottles. Recently, Almay discontinued some foundation shades, and unfortunately, mine was one of them: Honey. I will attempt to find another shade within the line to match my skin, else it's hunting through online stores (www.well.ca is great) until I can find a new staple!

The foundation itself is medium coverage, and can be layered to become full coverage. I don't bother with concealer under my eyes and just dot on a second layer to hide dark circles. I'm not very blemish-prone, but the occasional pimple can be covered easily in this manner as well. The foundation blends beautifully into my skin without sinking into lines. The finish is matte without looking cakey or over-done. I am very oily in my t-zone after about 4 hours usually, but this foundation keeps it relatively at bay so I don't worry about powdering every few hours. If I go that long without powdering, the oil does break through but only appears as a slight sheen instead of an oil slick. The colour does not oxidize and stays true all day. It doesn't rub off or transfer unless I really rub my face against a surface - even napping on a white pillow doesn't result in any transfer!

I am not particularly acne-prone, but I have never had breakouts associated with this foundation. The salicylic acid might make tans fade faster, but I'm constantly heaping on sunscreen to prevent myself from getting darker anyway!

On average this foundation can be found for $13 CAD which is a tiny bit pricey for a drugstore foundation, but by no means does it break the bank. The packaging is not a big deal to me since I just pour a tiny amount onto the back of my hand and apply with my fingers. I've dropped it a few times and it hasn't shattered, and it's very travel-friendly since I've never had it leak.

The only thing that will push this to a 5 is a better colour selection, even more oil control, and as always, a lower price. For now though, no qualms about having this as a staple in my daily makeup routine!

EDIT: I spoke too soon. After using this several more times I discovered this stuff was clogging my pores like crazy. I have 15-20 little white bumpy clogged pores right now after only wearing this 5 times. I really wish this didn't clog my skin because I love the way it looks.

I really hate the packaging (really how hard is it to incorporate a pump?!?) but for a product like this I can deal with the crappy package. It doesn't offer heavy coverage but I apply it over benefit's boing concealer and set it with cover fx blotting powder (I'm considering purchasing the normal cover fx powder, however, because the matte blotting powder has no pigment). I haven't noticed less acne but I haven't noticed more which is fine by me. This foundation looks good on my combination skin which is a miracle. (I have oily skin but because of washing with 10% benzoyl peroxide and it being winter I also have some dry patches). This doesn't make my skin any oilier and doesn't accentuate dry patches. Overall, I really like this product and will continue to use over high end make up at least until I find something better.

I have big pores, chicken pox scars, redness, acne, and dryness; this means having a decent foundation is very important to me. I say this Almay foundation offers light-medium coverage; it evens out my skintone and covers my redness, but it does not conceal acne or other noticeable marks. If you have spots or 'flaws', you WILL need concealer. After moisturizing and priming my face, the foundation goes on smoothly and does not look cakey. I've only applied it with my fingers, but I'm sure a sponge or brush would work as well. If you apply a thin layer on your face and feel that large portions of your skin are still too flawed, a THIN layer of mineral foundation or other powder will help. I don't have sensitive skin, so as long as I wash it off every night, my skin feels fine. The foundation isn't ultra-moisturizing, but it doesn't dry out my face either. I think it's a good foundation, and sorry for the novel.
