I bought this product about a month and bit ago. I noticed a difference at first with the 3 step procedure but then it seemed to just get worse. I went back to return the products and they lady told me it would take up to 4 kits to actually work. I thought I'm not spending about 400$ to see if it will work or not. My acne has never been so bad until i started proactive. My face started to get so sore and dry flaky. I felt like it was ruining my face. I would not recommend this product, But i suppose it helps some others not so much.

I occasionaly get breakouts when the heating comes on or a change in the seasons. The lotion is very good at clearing my skin up quickly. Only need a small amount and I use it at night only. I also use an oil free moisturiser on top so my skin doesn't dry out.

i have been using proactive for i think over three years. the product is a great product, BUT the reason why i rated it so low is because your skin literally gets hooked on this product.what i mean is when your on the product your skin is wonderful clear and beautiful but when you stop using proactive your skin breaks out like crazy. i personally dont like products that constantly needs to be used on a regular routine, i wanted something that would heal my skin forever and proactive wasn't it. I stoped using proactive three month ago, it was hard the first month becuase my skin was breaking out alot but i found manage to use other products that i could to replace proactive that will heal my skin insteaad of getting hooked on it. for me any product with benzoyproxide in it or syllic acid helped. (spelling is wrong) . syllic acid i used to prevent and benzoy peroxide for treating acne.

this product is great. my skin cleared up and my blackheads disappeared. the people who complain about it being to drying, maybe your using to much of the product. only use a pea size amount. it won't work faster if you put more.

I have read that alot of people get really dry skin after using this product... if you can I suggest buying from a kiosk that sells ProActiv as the women/men there will tell you that a moisturizer is supposed to be used with the lotion. I don't have acne and I rarely get any spots but i love it for the fact that it seems to really smooth out my skin tone!

It says 'lotion' so I put this all over my face. The next day, I had dry spots all over my cheeks and nose. My forehead felt tight and it hurt whenever I made any facial expressions. So the next night, I only put this on my pimples. It dried them out all right, but they didn't shrink in size or anything. My pimples just became large and dried out ... kind of raisin looking. I would definitely not recommend and will not repurchase.

I really like this product. I just put a tiny bit directly on the spot, not on my entire face, and it clears the spot up.

Never will I use this again. I have used this since I was 17 on and off. I always thought i had acne prone skin, but i have sensitive. So I would use this. It never cleared up my face all the way and my face always peeled or was too oily. It seemed like I used to much or too little, just never the right amount.
My advice to girls who want to try this- use a small small amount or it will make you break out worse. USe a pea sized amount. But I would not recommend to use this at all. Unless you really have to.

It dries out my skin.
I have to use more moisturizer (not lotion) afterward, because this unnecessary product dries it out too much.

This is average, it used to not work on my acne at all but now it works alright, I just hate the fact that if I don't over-moisturize, I'll get dry patches on my skin. :(

i have been a long time acne sufferer, and this product worked for 2 years but I got off of using it for a period of 6 months and when I used it again it started breaking me out with cystic acne on my jaw line last summer and I haven't used it since. I now only use Desert Essence Tea tree oil face wash and Alpha Hydroxy Peaches and Cream by Kiss my face and my face is doing great! Also, if you suffer from cystic acne, I really recommend trying Bragg's Apple Cider Vinegar! that really helps!

I only really ever break out along my chin and occasionally on my nose. This stuff is part of my every day routine along with the moisturizer. I don't use the cleanser or the toner stuff b/c they dry me out hxc.

With this, I have fewer break outs and my skin looks better overall (i.e. smaller pores, fresher looking skin). I like that this is more gentle than others.

It works for me, but I do have to be careful not to put it on my cheeks as it is a bit too drying for those areas of my uber sensitive skin.

I bought the three step kit a couple of times for my teenage son. He is really hit or miss about using it, but I have found two of the products to be amazing. One is the Repairing Lotion. I have a habit of using something for awhile, switching to something else, and coming back to this. I have been using this again this summer, and I am amazed how fantastic my skin looks! I get more breakouts in the summer when my skin gets oilier. I use Retin-A, but I need something besides. I have been faithfully using this, and my face is clearer than ever. But it's not just the clearing up of the blemishes. I'm blown away by the general appearance of my skin. My pores actually look smaller, my skin has a a luminosity about it that I have rarely seen. No more little bumps on my face, either.

What I really like about the ProActiv Repairing Lotion is the gentleness of it compared to acne treatments I have purchased before. It only has 2.5% benzoyl peroxide, and I think that makes the difference, along with some of the other ingredients in it. I do use an oil free moisturizer over it. When I use it in the winter I use it less often than in the summer, because my skin gets very dry in the winter (yet I still get breakouts in the winter).

I hate the Pro Active cleanser, but I love this and the toner. I definitely will purchase more.

I've been suckered into buying this twice! Yes, I've tried this system twice but it did not work. Initially, it did clear up my skin but the acne returned. The only product in this line I like and still use is the refining mask which works great for spot treatments.

The thing about proactiv is that it seems like it works at first, but it is just a temporary solution and not totally worth your money. I would not rely on this product, no matter how much you think your skin clears up.

Ive never had bad skin but its never been clear either and with Proactiv I cant stop looking in the mirror! My face doesnt even break out on "that time of the month" I cant believe I put if off this long thinking "I would never buy ANYTHING that Jessica Simpson endorses" but this stuff really works as long as you are careful with it. I did burn my face at first using the repairing lotion all over. Right now I use the wash, toner and repairing lotion (spot treatment only!!!) and when that dries I use my Laura Mercier flawless skin moisturizer...fabulous!

I don't use this on my face.. but I wanted to write a review for it because it's the ONLY thing that has cleared up the breakouts I had on my back/shoulders. I have been using it as a treatment by itself on my shoulders for about 6 months and whenever I start slacking and miss a few days or a week, then I start getting breakouts again. I eat a lot of sweets/sugars so I know it's my fault but this pro activ lotion keeps it in check and keeps my back clear and beautiful. For that I give it 4 stars. :)

The repairing lotion is in my opinion the key component to the system. I just recently had the problem like other MUA users of having skin irritations after this use. But, I found that I mistakenly applied this to my whole face, which was a big no-no for me considering this BP treatment is potent. I was so sure of myself that this product could work, so instead, I used this as a spot treatment. Then again, the directions do say to just apply it to the affected area....so, I guess I didn't read the directions carefully.

I can say now that after several weeks of using this product as a spot treatment, my acne is disappearing....finally!

My review is just a tip for those who may not have acne all over their face but just on certain spots. However, I believe that a other benzoyl peroxide treatments can be found....especially at a cheaper price.

This dried my skin out big time, turned my face red and flaky (even though I only used it once a day), and did nothing for my zits. In fact, it caused me to break out even worse in little whiteheads around my chin and mouth.

I use the entire acne system which includes the repairing lotion. I absolutely need this. Without it my skin breaks out badly. I have used it since 2004 and I had serious acne back then. It was ugly. Prior to proactiv I used EVERYTHING including Retin-A, Accutane for 6 months, Antibiotics and the pill. None of these things gave me a permanent solution to the acne problem. Finally at my wits end a friend recommended Proactiv to me and it worked so well. Within 2 weeks my skin was improving. I have even been for facials and have been told that I have very clean pores which makes me feel proud because I never believed I could have beautiful skin. It will irritate your skin at first and it will feel dry. I used Cetaphil for the first 3 months as a moisturizer after the Repairing Lotion to give my skin some moisture and soothing from the initial dryness. After the acne dried up my skin eventually normalized and now I get compliments on my skin all the time. When I have slacked off and stopped using it due to laziness, the spots begin popping back up as happened to me about 3 weeks ago. I had stopped using it for about 3 months and what do you know... those pimples began popping right up again. I use the face mask once per week and leave it on for 1 hour (the box says less). I recommend it to those suffering from acne as something to definitely try and persist with it for about 2 months and see it it helps you.
