Finally my HG foundation. This stuff is incredible. My skin looks like porcelain. Which is cool because I am 35 and have good skin but not perfect skin. This foundation takes 10 years off, and I am not kidding. I have tried Armani, Lancome, Chanel, Cle de Peau, Fresh, Trish, Laura Mercier and this beats them all!! Also, it sets very well but does not settle into lines or heaven forbid, create new ones. Finally, finally my HG foundation!!

Ok, so I've already written a review on this but I decided to write one again. This is the most amazing foundation I have ever used. It covers absolutely perfectly, and all my pimples and scars disappear. I use it with the Lancome Foundation brush, and put Jane Iredale Amazing Base over it to keep it in place and to give an even more even look. I LOVE it!!!!

This is an excellent foundation. I have acne-prone skin. I don't necessarily have oily skin, but I assume the reason that is is because of all the acne medications I've been using. Either way, my skin hasn't been oily enough to make me have to blot and stick with matte foundations. I use both Jane Iredale Amazing Base and EL's Futurist. I bough futurist because I have dry skin and there are times when my skin gets drier than normal due to weather change, or something else. I figured this foundation is something I should keep on hand. The saleslady gave me the lightest shade in the yellow tones because even though my face has pink undertones, my neck has yellow undertones, and it looks like two different shades. I thought the lightest shadw would be too dark, but blended so perfectly into my skin, I literally could not tell it was on. It covers beautifully, too. I learned to pour out about dime size, and dab a decent amount onto each cheek, and then use my kabuki brush from BE and spread it around in circles to give a fuller coverage, just like I would with mineral foundation. This covers all my scars and everything beautifully. You have to wear a powder though, because this is not a long-lasting foundation. The only reason why I don't use this regularly is because I'm terrified of it breaking me out, even though it never has when I have used it. But, this is definitely worth the money.

Image yourself waking up and be looking forward to apply your foundation.
This is how I feel because it's a pleasure to apply and wear this foundation, my skin loves it and thrives on it! My skin hasn't look this beautiful till know! I used to have the ocasional breaouts until I discovered my perfect combination: Eucering Daily Repleshment with SPF 15, Futurist Foundation plus Palladio Rice Powder (I didn't care for Estee's Powder at all). Intended for mature skin, I think that doesn't matter because I am in my 30's, unless that's considered mature. I just LOVE IT!!!!!

I'm so sad! I wish this was my HG foundation because it blended beautifully and the colour match was perfect!

Alas, it is not my HG because it's not moisturizing enough. even though the lasting power is amazing (one non-powder touchup from 7am-9pm) my flakiness becomes apparent within an hour of application.
I think I will attempt to cure my extreme dryness from the inside and then re-try this foundation because it feels so great. the coverage is excellent too (medium/somewhat full coverage).
Overall, I'll look into it again, in the meantime 4 lippies.

I had been using and liked very much, Lancome Absolute. Just wasn't too happy with the color match, the almond seemed too pink for my skin tones. Then I tried the new Estee Lauder foundation, and found it too dry for my skin.

I was in luck, as one of the national MA was at the counter the day I stopped by to try Futurist foundation which was given great reviews here. The most interesting thing was, that she put a color on my face, shell beige, which looks "brown" in the bottle and I said no way, but "it was a perfect match" for my skin which has yellow undertones. She said my skin absorbs the color and that the colors in the bottle can be deceiving until they are put on your skin. The color also matches my neck color which is a little redder. It just all seems to blend and is very natural looking, and does not cake in the lines around my eyes. I also only need a little to get great coverage.
As someone else mentioned, Futurist is suppose to be for dry skin and you need to use very little moisturizer underneath. I always have a tendancy to overdo the day moisturizer which gives my face too much shine, but the MA said to use the heavier moisturizer at nite not during the day. I am following her advise, and going easy on the day moisturizer and my face looks great. Just hit it with a little powder during the day.
The only complaint I have is the bottle, which if you are using a brush, which I find gives the most natural coverage, it is impossible to get the foundation out of the bottle. I dip my brush in the cap and swirl it around the neck of the bottle which is usally enough coverage for me.
Would recommend for "mature" skin looking for light to medium coverage.

I've bought this product three times now and I really like it. I've just finished a bottle of MAC Hyper Real foundation and have today bought Futurist again. I just keep coming back to it.

A few years ago I used to use Lucidity and that was the best one I had ever tried back then, but then I tried this one and loved it as well. This foundation has a slight glow to it but has quite a natural finish. It is also very long lasting and doesn't bring me out in too much shine. Highly recommended.

i'd been wanting this SO badly, after reading all the reviews here. so i finally went out and bought one. i got it in Soft Ivory (this color has a hint of pink in it... i find Blonde a bit too dull and Cameo a bit too orange and Soft Ivory is the perfect balance of both). the pump bottle is amazing! the staying power is excellent and it feels really light on my face. they said it is intended for more mature skin so i thought it would feel heavy and oily on. not at all! lighteweight, but still covers. i personally would recommand this to not only mature skins but young skins as well! of course, if you have oily skin, get something else. i think this foundation is something i'd really repurchase!
UPDATE: absolute HG man. it looks just like my own skin but 10 times better. and it covers SO well. in the past i used Cle de Peau (cream), Laura Mercier (oil-free liquid), shiseido liquid/cream/stick and Chanel Teint Compact Creme Universel (man, this one cakes so badly!)... none of these comes close to EL Futurist.

EDIT: well, i think this is bad for my acne prone skin and it's the reason why my skin condition didn't improve even when i got on the Dan Kern's Clear Skin Regimen. i think this actually triggers more breakouts. although, my mom would love this foundation i'm sure.

This has been my HG foundation for about a year. Before Futurist, I switched foundations every time I bought it, because nothing ever seemed "just right." I love that it is moisturizing but not too oily. Makes my face look great, and the color is a perfect match.

My mother recently got some samples of futurist foundation from a friend of hers who works part time behind a makeup counter.
It felt absolutely luxurious spreading over my skin, and even when i touch my skin it still feels relatively good.
The smell of this foundation is awful, which was a huge turn off for me.
Not only that, but it has settled into my pores somewhat, and it seems as if the product actually accentuates them.
So, I probably would not purchase this foundation for myself.

I'm 46 and have no major skin problems, just small laugh lines, a few hyper pigmentation spots, normal skin w/ sometimes oily T-zone. In the past year, I've tried over 30 foundations. I also tried this once before and took it back to Foleys because I didn't like it. So I had a sample and tried it again and then waited two weeks before posting this review. Pale Almond in Futurist is my color. I am a MAC NW25. This foundation actually stays looking good from 8 a.m. to about 4 p.m. without any major touchups. It doesn't dry my skin out, and I don't feel it on my face, it doesn't break my skin out (like all MAC foundations do) and it has very good coverage. If I want to use concealer under my eyes for a better look then I do, but it is not always necessary. It is not heavy looking at all. It just looks natural and very much like my skin, but only better. Just dust on some Chanel loose powder after application and I am confident most of the day that my face looks good. I'm very pleased with it. Best to not use a heavy moisturizer with it. I have found that Lancome Aqua fusion (SPF 15) works well with this. All other sunscreens cause any foundation that I use to turn greasy.....HOLY GRAIL for now...

I love this foundation* It gives a natural finish, and feels good on my skin. My skin actually feels softer when wearing it and I have found that the shade (pale almond) works well with my freckled fairish skin. YOu don't need to use much either that is a plus.

Am rating a 5 even though it makes me break out. I still wear it on special or photogenic occasions. Am resigned to the fact that the morning after, I will have at least one huge zit to deal with. This foundation does make my skin look great. The first foundation I ever tried was Estee Lauder in a free sample at age 15. And now at age 37, it still looks the best. Have also tried Prescriptives, Clinique, Origins, with little success (no breakouts but they don't blend as well or look as good). Thanks to MUA recommendations, I got samples of Chanel Teint Naturel (love it - only used once, no breakouts yet) and Lancome.

A miracle for my dry flaky skin.... not only does it not emphasize flakes I find it actually smooths flakiness out. Coverage is medium but looks very natural, if a bit shiny.

*edit*
have been wearing it around a bit more and this is amazing stuff! the coverage is gorgeous and I could almost swear it's improving my skin in general - worth every penny!
*double edit*
I am more and more impressed with this foundation... I applied at 7pm, went out, slept in it and the finish still looked 90% as good as at application at 12 the next day.*

After reading all the reviews for this, I went right out to buy a bottle. I have normal to dry skin so I tend to wear a heavier moisturizer which is NOT what you should do when you where this. I was shiny all day every time I wore this. I think this would be better for colder months and I'll stick with the EL doublewear for the warmer months. If you don't wear a heavy moisturizer this might work for you. I have to say I liked the coverage and I'll try this again come winter.

The only foundation that I have ever repurchased, having sampled or owned nearly every drugstore and highend foundation around. About 70% of foundations separate into flakies on my dry cheeks, and very few ha e enough coverage to hide my very red rosacia inflamed cheeks and still match the rest of my face which is usually the second lightest color in any line. On top of that I am truely neutral in coloring and just about every line out there is pink or yellow based.

Well this stuff is the best foundation I've found to date. It provides medium to full coverage and soft dewey finish that stays looking good all day. It doesn't look completely natural up close, but complete coverage never does, but it does not have that powdery or latex look that many full coverage foundations have. It does a good job in minimizing my large pores and doesn't irritate my acne prone chin. I find that the best and most natural coverage is achieved by putting a generouse amount on initially because layering it tends to make it look more powdery and less dewey. I rarely wear powder with it unless it is particuliarly humid (I live in a dry climate). I wear Blonde which is the lightest of the neutral shades and the first truely neutral shade of foundation I've found. It is a bit darker then my skin, but overall this is the best foundation I've found. I've also found that for some odd reason on Nordstroms Counters carry the four lighter shades. For some odd reason all of the other department store start with the medium shades in this line.

Previously I wore Lucidity, then when Futurist came out, I tried it. I have been wearing it since. I have very dry, sensitive skin. It does not flake on my skin and my husband doesn't notice that I have it on, only when I don't have it on. In other words, it covers, but doesn't cover so much that it looks "made up." I still have such dry skin that I use the original Eucerin lotion to put on about 10 minutes before I apply Futurist, so that the Eucerin soaks in, then I apply the Futurist makeup. I use the Lucity loose powder in translucent to just "set" my makeup, then add the blush. I would recommend this makeup to anyone with dry or sensitive skin.

I am a foundation junkie and have tried just about everything under the sun I do believe...had over 50 bottles of all different fndts last month!
Anyway, this is a great med coverage moisturizing foundation if you can find a color match. I am NC25 and I got Bare beige which is maye a tad too dark, but with summer coming it will work. It has a nice feel going on and a natural matte finish that has decent staying power. I have norm/dry but oily skin and this helps to balance it and make the flakes from RAM not so obvious. It does NOT cover pores but doesnt really make them stand out either. I am 26 with a few fine lines and while I dont think this gets rid of them it does help to minimize the appearance of them. Over all a good fndt. Probably would repurchase unless I get bored like always.
