I LOVED this conditioner...before Pantene changed the formula. They added amino acids (proteins) which dry out my hair. I was not pleased. A plus is that it was easy to work into and comb through my hair, but ultimately would not recommend this product unless your hair reacts well with proteins.

EDIT: Ok, this isn't so bad after all. I realized that I had a lot of buildup from this, but once I switched shampoos this actually makes my hair nice. You just need to clarify regularly.

I haven't had a lot of luck with Pantene conditioners, and this was no exception. I bought travel sizes of both the shampoo and conditioner. The Smooth and Sleek conditioner wasn't very smoothing or sleekening. (Is that even a word?) Whether it was used with or without the Smooth and Sleek shampoo, this conditioner just didn't do what it was supposed to. The best conditioner I've found for my fine hair is Terax Crema, which does make my hair smooth and sleek. I would definitely not buy this conditioner again, and I'd try another drugstore brand conditioner before using this again.

My HG of conditioners! My hair is to my bra strap, brown, with a few highlights, and if not for this conditioner, I'd never get a brush through it. I'd rather go with dirty hair than to wash it without this product because it would take me hours to detangle it. I would recommend this product for anyone who has a problem with tangles, my brush slides right through my hair and it moisturizees and smells good. It's cheap, it's better than anything out there for the money.

Me: 22, I wash my hair about every other day. I had several perms as a pre-teen, then as a teen I've bleached my hair more times than I could count, and have had my hair every color imaginable. For the past two years, I've been dying it Black, and right now it has two bleached skunk stripes. I haven't seen my original hair color since I was 11 years old! My hair is down to right above my butt, very thick but shedding, and very frizzy, damaged, tangly and brittle.

I absolutely LOVE this stuff. It smells sooooooo good, and it makes my hair soft, shiny, straight - and the smell lingers in my hair for so long!

I like the way that this conditioner doesn't just make my hair soft, it makes it really, really soft and managable. And I can brush tangles out SO much easier. This is definitely my low-end #1 Conditioner. I will repurchase this.

I have tried all types of conditioners, from salon quality to drugstore brand. I love this conditioner! I do not use pantene shampoos because of the not so good ingredients but this conditioner is a must have if you have dry, frizzy, course hair... like mine! Paula Begoun highly reccomends this conditioner in her book called "Don't go shopping for hair products with out me". And she is right, this conditioner leaves my hair silky smooth. I flat iron everyday, and this conditioner does wonders for hair. Much better than some salon stuff I have bought in the past.

I love that this condition imparts a lovely shine and keeps hair soft and smooth. What I don't love so much about it, is that it leaves a huge amount of buildup in the form of silicon, a problem amongst all of Pantene's shampoos and conditioners. It's too bad, because it has a nice scent, and decent effects and is pretty good value for money. I won't be repurchasing again, since although this had been a staple of mine for the past couple of years, I've finally realized the damage it does to hair.

I have very thick and somewhat coarse hair. I need a heavy conditioner to help tame my hair. I have tried many, many conditioners and Pantene Smooth and Sleek is the best I have found.

This conditioner works great in my thick hair. I can actually feel my hair getting smoother as I use it~unfortunately I can't use it that frequently, it tends to leave my hair weighted down, waxy, and oily so I use this maybe once a month. Won't be repurchasing because I have a giant bottle and at the rate I'm going, I'll never run out.

Pantene, you frustrate me. Right now my thick, normally frizzy locks look good, but at the same time my hair gets heavier and waxier. I'm reluctantly enjoying the sleeker, shinier appearance- even as it destroys my hair. Doom. Doooom. I'll probably force myself to switch soon. On a side note, this stuff smells horrible.

I keep coming back to this. I is a good instant conditioner when I don't have the time to use Feria or the Garnier Fructis Hair Mask.

I use this conditioner with Pantene Color Revival shampoo, and I love it. It has a clean scent and is really refreshing. This conditioner makes my hair so soft and smooth, I stopped using my other conditioners that I have in the shower. I color my hair, and this leaves it feeling silky and smooth, and looking great!! Will buy again!

I liked this conditioner a lot. it made my hair so soft after i used it. I'm asian and my hair is pretty thick. It did make my hair considerably smoother and sleek. i didn't love the fragrance of it that much though. it smelled like an older woman smell.

I'll confess, I have been using and really love Pantene's Daily Moisture Renewal line, but only the conditioner. When I went out to pick up some more, they were out of it!! So, I decided to give their Smooth and Sleek line a shot. Argh!! How could 2 conditioners by the same brand be so completely different?? They smell almost exactly the same, so I assumed the Smooth and Sleek line wouldn't be much different from the Daily Moisture Renewal line. Yeah, right. This doesn't even come close to detangling like the Daily Moisture Renewal at all. It didn't leave my hair smooth or sleek either. It left my hair in knots and felt dried out. What garbage. I must have done more damage to my hair just by trying to work this stuff threw my hair in the shower than not using conditioner at all!! Their Daily Moisture Renewal conditioner leaves my hair ultra soft, ultra smooth and very shiny. I even find it to be better than some salon conditioners I've tried. I went out today and bought a new bottle. I'm throwing this garbage away.

I love the smell of this product so much .So heres what happened i begged my mom to buy me this product since she usually just buys me suave but she bought it for me anyway (after i contributed $2 ).well i used for a few days and when we were going to church she said what shampoo and conditioner are you using? so i said i am using Pantene Pro-V smooth and sleek and it's got some kinda new vitamin in it . She then surprised me by saying you can us that from now on .Happily ever after huh ?well yes but to get my hair perfectly detangled ( it sounds like a little to much but a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do and it actually takes like a fraction of a second when you put it into your daily routine) before i get in the shower i brush my hair so there are no knots and then i shampoo and while the shampoo is still in my hair i brush through it with a comb and i rinse feeling the smoothness all down my back. then i rinse then i apply the conditioner being sure not to get any on or near my roots. then after it is applied i comb through again making sure i don't miss a single knot .then i rinse and abracadabra! bee-utiful hair glossy yet suppily shiny hair with a bit of bounce to my silky waves thanks Pantene Pro-V you saved my hair from all those other building up products that make your hair suck! And yes starla or caroline klimzchuk this is who you think it is!!

I hate to say that I've used this stuff, because I think it is a classic case of sacrificing true health for physical beauty. Pantene is NOT in any way, shape or form a good brand for nourishing hair. Its chemical overload will give hair a temporary boost, but it never truly sinks in and revitalizes. It only coats and covers - think of it layering makeup over terribly mistreated skin. You can go heavy and it'll look nice, sure, but it would look nicer if the actual base were taken care of.

However, if you're not squeamish about the harsh ingredients, it will do what it says. This conditioner is good at coating your hair to give the appearance of health. I have looong, wavy, dry hair, and Smooth & Sleek can make it look glossy for sure. despite what people say about it making hair look weighed down and lifeless after prolonged use, you CAN use it for extended periods of time, but you will HAVE to use either an anti-residue shampoo and/or a hot oil treatment at *least* once a week to get rid of the dulling buildup that the Pantene line so amply provides.

I LOVE this conditioner (and use it along with the matching smooth & sleek shampoo). It's my HG shampoo & conditioner. We've all heard the stories, we all know that so many people say that Pantene is horrible for your hair, but the bottom line is that you either love it or hate it, and I love it. Nothing leaves my long, naturally wavy hair (that I blow dry and flat iron on an every day basis) so soft, smooth, shiny and hyrdated like Pantene Pro-V. I have used Pantene on and off since I was about 13 and I can honestly say I love it even more than some of my favorite salon brands. The conditioner is so rich and creamy and my hair just drinks it up. It feels instantly softer and smoother right in the shower. This conditioner has to be best detangling conditioner of all time! As an added bonus, it smells SO GOOD! I love the fresh, clean scent. It keeps my long hair looking gorgeous, smooth and shiny. I have tried SO many other brands and I always come back to Pantene Pro-V. The only downside is that I liked the old formula so much better before they added the "pro-v amiono complex", but hey, it's even better for your hair now, the scent just changed a little, but it still smells great! I love this stuff, nothing works better and my hair loves it too! :) My sister who has long hair that she has professionaly sprial permed recently swiched to Pantene Pro-V's hyrdating curls collection and she loves it. :) For incredibly shiny and healthy looking hair, nothing beats Pantene Pro-V.

This is not really a review but some hard-won advice:
If your hair is seriously dry and dull, don't waste time and money trying one conditioner after another.

Instead, if you haven't done so in a while, GET THEE TO A DOCTOR!
In 2000, I noticed that my usually oily hair looked like the business end of a broom.

I assumed that this was due to color treatment and daily blow-drying, so I tried all manner of "miracle" conditioners, none of which helped much.

On January 1, 2001 I had a nearly fatal cerebral hemorrhage. This was indirectly caused by undiagnosed kidney disease, which was probably the underlying cause of my rotten hair.

If your skin and/or hair doesn't look good, don't assume that it's got to be a purely cosmetic problem. Make sure that your health is okay.
P.S. Now my kidneys are fine, and my hair is supple and glossy, but I still have many of the effects of the stroke.

Although this product has made my hair soft and smooth, after about a little more than a month now, my hair looks dulled down and so lifeless. In the beginning, the effects were wonderful! But after awhile, you somewhat get sick of it. I was considering getting Suave shampoo and alternating so it wouldn't build up... but nah, I decided to get the Purifying/Clarifying Pantene Pro V shampoo instead. It's a good way to "counter" the buildup and start your hair, refreshed again. I'll probably consider changing to something else after I'm done with the conditioner + shampoo that goes with it...
