I'm in love with bright blushes. I have NARS exhibit a and when I saw this blush in the MAC store I knew that I needed this one too. While exhibit a has more orange, frankly scarlet has more pink to it. I'm an NW43 for reference, and this gives me a great flushed look. Be mindful, with any bright blushes on dark skin, do not use a heavy hand or you will look foolish. but with a light hand and light application, it will do wonders for you
Age: 19-24 Skin: Combination, Fair, Warm Hair: Black, Wavy, Fine Eyes: Brown
I've been looking for a red blush for awhile now, tested NARS Exhibit A, way too orangey. I decided to check out MAC's blushes and fell in love! I first saw it online and when I went into the MAC Pro store I couldn't believe just how bright it was, I mean even one of the girls that work there was hesistant about it. She didn't even want to apply it herself and handed me the brush lol, im sooo glad I tried it, its not a extremely loud color but you MUST apply with a very light hand, I.e.barely make contact with your brush lol, but the payoff is so lovely. I would definitely buy again, if ever I needed to. MUST TRY!!!

This blush looks very scary. It's even pretty scary when swatched, but applied properly it gives my fair skin a very nice wintry flush! I literally only lightly dab my 187 brush into the pan and then apply the blush. I would buy this again though I doubt I'll ever run out seeing as a tiny bit goes such a long way!
Age: 18 & Under Skin: Combination, Fair Hair: Black Eyes: Brown
I LOVE this blush. So bright in the pan but a gorgous winter cold flush. makes my dull fair complexion looks sooo healthy and beautiful. The trick is to not over do or you'll look clownish,I use my MAC 187 and BAM beautiful flush of color. I hope this never gets Discontinued. Also it lasts all day on my skin with or with out primer.
Age: 19-24 Skin: Very Dry, Dark Hair: Black, Relaxed, Medium Eyes: Brown
(For reference i wear MAC NW47/50). to me the colour looked scary in the pot, but it is not so BRIGHT on my skin tone. it leaves a nice, healthy rich, pink colour. I've received a few compliments about the product whilst wearing it which is always a good sign. I would buy again, which i will not need to as blushes last for years with me, as i use with a light hand, so not too look like a clown.

I just bought this today after testing it in the store. I was wanting this or Nars Exhibit A. But I'm so glad I got this. Gives my Indian brown nc45 skin that Kim Kardashian glow. HG blush <3
Age: 44-55 Skin: Normal, Fair, Warm Hair: Brown, Straight, Medium Eyes: Hazel
This is another of MAC's best products imo.
I have it in two palettes as well as my personal one and my skin is light but this used very sparingly (I mean with a 187 type skunk brush) it looks beautiful.
I have used this on women from my coloring to women of color.. and it still is magnificent. The trick is in the application.. just don't overdo.
I do hope MAC does not dc this as there are no dupes for it.

THIS IS F-A-B and my new HG!!! My HG blush was orginally Nars Exibit A which is great but can make some eyeshadow colors look a little weird. I saw the color and was sucked into it. The color looks highlighter bright pink but it goes on perfectly. With this a little goes a long way. Any skin tone from porcelin to ebony and everywhere in between can wear this :-)
Tip: If you mix just a dab of this with regular lip balm (ie Rosebud or Burt's Beee) it makes a lovely lipcolor and fresh look for spring. Just use a neutral eyeshadow!

Frankly Scarlet is NOT what i expected it to be. Prior to purchasing this i have been hunting around Google images for photos of other women wearing it. It seemed to be an artificial hot pink on their skin. That i could totally understand - there are many red blushers out there which look a pure red in the pan but they just turn hot pink on your skin. If not, they lean too much to brown, or orange. It seemed impossible to hunt down the perfect red.
Being a collector of red blushers, i still decided to give it a go. During my first application, i expected the same fake-ish hot pink i saw on other ladies. However! I can't speak for fairer-skinned ladies, but on my NC30 tanned asian skin with yellow undertones, this looked exactly like a rush of blood to my cheeks. I can't call that color red, i can't call that color pink.. it just looks like exactly like the naturally flushed cheeks i usually get when my body temperature gets high. I always get a natural lovely flush after dinner because somehow that's when my body temp rises. And i've been looking to replicate that with a blusher to save my otherwise dead mornings and afternoons. THIS is it. And this red, thankfully, is not overly blue-toned for my warm skin. It's also not so warm that it makes me muddy (which many other blushers do, so i have to be careful).
Another thing i didn't expect - i didn't expect Frankly Scarlet to be an everyday kind of blush but having said the above paragraph, it now is. Last thing i didn't expect - it was easier than expected to apply this pigmented powder without looking clownish. I was supposed to purchase a fan brush to use specially with Frankly Scarlet but i couldn't find a suitable one yet. My regular blush brush worked by lightly tapping on to the surface, dusting off loose particles on the bristles, and swiping gently on the apples of my cheeks. Although Frankly Scarlet is a "Matte" and not a "Sheertone", i was able to apply it very sheerly. This really exceeded my expectations. I've had about 4 MAC blushers and swapped them all away because i never had luck with their colours. I'm so glad Frankly Scarlet is a keeper for me.
If you have a similar colouring as me, i urge you to try this with the application method i recommended.
If your'e also a fan of red blushers, here are a list of some others i've seen or tried:
1. Bobbi Brown Powder Blush in "Poppy"
This one's a tad darker than Frankly Scarlet and many a touch browner. It worked okay on me but sometimes was too brown under certain lighting. It looks ruddier and Frankly is cleaner.
2. NARS "Exhibit A"
I don't own this but i decided to skip it because from reviews it seemed to lean on the orange side.
3. Anna Sui Blush "400"
I might have gotten the number wrong but this one looks like a pure red in the pan, but goes on a hot pink. But i liked it because the powder was very fine.
4. NYX Creme Blush "Red Cheeks"
I ordered this in the mail this is very similar to Frankly, a creme version of Frankly Scarlet. BUT - it's a pain to apply because the concentrated creme is not easy to sheer out. Skip.
5. NARS Creme Blush "Turkish Rose"
This looks like a brick red in the pan but goes on all brown and ruddy on me :( not good!
I can't remember the number but i bought this shocking red powder blush from them. Great quality and great lasting power, i like everything about it. The warmer cousin of Frankly, leaning more to Tomato red but not so orange that its unwearable.
Lastly, Karlasugar's blog also has some swatches of a few other red blushers that MAC Pro makes - Salsa Red, Apple Red and Flame Red. I've not been able to try them either because they aren't available in Singapore.
Still using and loving!!! I always come back to this though i have about 50 others in my drawer. I love that it has abit of blue in it to chase away my yellow undertones.
Age: 19-24 Skin: Acne-prone, Fair, Cool Hair: Blond, Straight, Fine Eyes: Blue
Despite having ghost white skin, this blush looks amazing. Yes, it's terrifying in the pan, but just a little bit blended with a 187 brush on my cheeks makes me look like I just came back from cross country skiing, without any actual physical labor involved.
It's $18, but this will literally last me for at least (AT LEAST!) twenty years. If your pale, don't be afraid of this blush: Applied properly, this is the most natural blush I've found.
