I have a love/hate relationship with this blush. We've been together since 2002 lol. Sometimes it's one of my fav's. and other times I never want to see it again mainly because too much and you are a rodeo clown, but overall it is pretty good. It is very pretty when applied correctly and with a very LIGHT hand. Red with the slightest pink in it. I'm NC20 and I have to use so little of this when I do wear it that I doubt I will ever run out but If I ever do run out I will rebuy because it is a great item to always have even if you only wear it once a year.

Another one of the blushes I lusted after for weeks and finally got it as part of fantastic palette on ebay. Very beautiful rich colour that looks warm and flattering on my NC50 skin.

this blusher is very pretty once applied and it gives you a vivrant, yet sweet, healthy glow. i knew this blush would suit me as soon as i saw it (i am a north indian, nars shade barcelona), although it looks bright red in the pan, its actually a pinky red and it compliments my brown eyes beautifully.

Insanely bright looking in the pot, but so lovely when applied with a light hand. Creates an extremely flattering glow on my NC25 complexion. If I can wear it, I expect a lot of people can. I can`t believe the years I ignored this one!

This is a wierd product. The colour is a kind of...bright red with a rose pinkish undertone...and does it have a kind of orange undertone??? whatever. unwearable applied dry, i like to dab my finger on the cake, and apply in a lotion: foundation, lip gloss, whatever - like a pigment. then, it is oh so fabulous and my favourite ever blush!

I read that Rachel McAdams uses this blush, and i have always loved how rosy her cheeks looked, so I thought i would give it a try. I was shocked to see it in person, it's so bright! But, i bought it and tried it and I love it! You have to use it with a big blush brush and use it sparingly, but it's a great color, and I have very fair skin. Just try it and dont use too much, and I think you'll be happy with it.

Whoa...is this bright or what??? Frankly Scarlet is a super red blush...no shimmer at all to it. Even with an extremely light hand I could not pull this off. I am pretty pale, NC20, so it might look more natural on darker skinned gals. I swapped this away after testing it once! Hope she has better luck.

When I heard MAC had a blush called 'Frankly Scarlet' I decided I had to have it. I was able to swap for it :o) so that made me really happy. When I got it I was a little scared as I hadn't really thought about it how bright a red it was going to be and I'm an ultra pale PPP so I didn't think I would be able to wear it. However, when applied with my fan brush very very very lightly it looks really good on me! If I ever run out of it I will definitely repurchase.

This looks like a true red in the pot, kind of shocking when you think about applying it to your face. But, I love it! I'm VERY PALE and when I apply a very little bit on my brush, I get the look of just coming in after a cold day in winter, gorgeous!

A stunning red! It takes your breath away when you see it in the pot and it doesn't dissapoint you on your cheeks =) Just apply sparingly and Voila! Rosy cheeks!

Frankly Scarlet is a very pretty red/rose blush with a touch of pink also. It is quite a pigmented shade so the application should be gently layered. Frankly Scarlet is one of the few that are among MAC's original blushes from the early 1990's. I recently purchased it after many years of admiring this gorgeous blush. I do however prefer "VARIETY" from MAC.

As other reviewers have noted, this blush looks rather terrifying in the pan.
It is bright, unapologetic red, and doesn't look at all like a blush that a rational woman would apply to her face. It can easily look clownish, if applied too heavily.
BUT it has a nice(for my "cool" coloring)pinkish cast, and if applied with a light touch and a good fluffy brush, it looks great.
The texture is just a tad on the grainy side, but the blush still applies smoothly and lasts fairly well on my oily skin.
I love red, and red blush is hard to find, but I think I've found my perfect one!*
I wouldn't mind if the price were a little lower, but it's not unreasonable for this kind of quality. A winner that I'll surely buy again!
Red blush IS very hard to find, and I can't imagine a better one!
I'm hooked. UPDATE: I've been using this color for about a year now, and it is without a doubt my HG red blush! I even bought one for a friend as part of her Christmas present and she loves it(after she got over her initial terror of the color.).
This was my first MAC product, starting a great love affair.
After "Frankly Scarlet," it was Lipglasses, then eyeshadows, then Pigments, more blushes, Pro Longwears, and innumerable lipsticks.
Needless to say, I adore MAC, I adore "Frankly Scarlet," and I expect to keep buying as long as there's breath in my body!
UPDATE JULY 2006: I'm still devoted to "Frankly Scarlet," but I will admit that it's a difficult color, particularly for the paler faces among us.FS also seems to have a grainier texture than some of the other MAC powder blushes. However, this is a lovely, unique, and fun color, and no way am I ready to give it up.
*NOTE: In summer of 2007, MAC suddenly released a flurry of intensely-colored powder pro blushes; several new reds among them!
I plan to get Apple Red" and "Flame Red," and will review them ASAP.
I'll have to see if FS's HG status is threatened ...

What a fab blush! I think this'll be the last blush I ever use. :) Like the other reviewers said, when used in moderation, it really does give the "just in from the cold" look. Very natural and subtle if done in the right way. Just watch out...this blush can be tricky, and when it is, it's just TOO extreme! ;)

This colour flat out made me look like a clown. I much Lancome's Fiery Ka-Phie for that bright, yet still natural - sun kissed glow.
Also, this blush doesn't last at all on me. Too bad, it has the same name as me and I dig that about it!

This color is so intimidating in the pan --a deep no-holds-barred cerise. However, applied with a light touch it is a lovely sheer rose color. I'm a PPP and this shade gives me that "just-in-from-the-cold" flush. Totally natural. I think the trick is to swipe the brush once across the blush and then wipe the brush on a kleenex until you see the sheer color you want.

This is one of my favourite blushes along with Origins 'Pinch your cheeks' Lovely vivid red with a hint of rose colour. the product will last for a long time as you only need to apply a very small amount.

In the pan it looks totally unwearable-- bright and red. When put on, it's amazing! I use just a little bit to get a flushed look, as I imagine too much would give a clownish look. The texture is very silky too and blends easily. Five lippies!

With the holiday season upon us I have been obsessed with finding the perfect red lipstick, lip gloss and blush. I love Mac's matte blush in Frankly Scarlett. This is a gorgeous red that gives me cheeks a great ice skaters flush. I have it sitting side by side with Shu Uemura glow on blush in Red 19D and the two colors look identical except for the shimmer that the Shu Uemura blush has. Both are excellent choices.

This is it! It's the last blush I'll ever buy. I'm a VERY PPP (I mix MAC C1 with White to make my foundation shade!) and this is the most natural look I've ever seen. It's WAAAAY scary looking in the pan (bright red!) but, if applied with a light touch, it looks great. A just-came-in-from-outside look. It doesn't have brown tones in it (and neither does my skin) so the effect is soft, light and just lovely. Plus, since I don't use very much at a time, it's going to last me a long time.

I *love* this blush. It looks so gaudy rose red in the pan... and it can be applied as such is such if you want it like that... but if you swirl your blush brush in the pan and then tap the excess off a few times, it looks so gorgeous! On my MMM complexion, it gives me a beautifully subdued rosy glow. And may I add that this is also an awesome blush to use for 80's party night :-* ... It is totally the coolest contour shade ever! I love it.
