I didn't find this color to be drying at all, my lipstick is quite creamy in texture. The color is a brownie-coffee nude color, it's not the HG of nude lipsticks, but it is a really pretty color. I would buy this again.

I like Half n’Half, it’s more brown than I had originally thought and there is definitely more of a grayish cast than pink to it, but I really like that...some people may not though. I’m not real sure when pale lipstick became synonymous with “nude”, but on this PPP, Half n’Half is a nude lipstick without being pale, I guess “a darker nude while still keeping the lips muted”(?) It turns up my lips a notch and defines them while keeping a hushed mouth that’s great with a dramatic eye (not just a smokey eye). Yet another subtly sexy true nude from MAC. For a pale nude, I go for my HG, Honeylove and Cherish which I have quickly grown to love.

I’m not crazy about the amplified creams, I find myself preferring the satin formula or the mattes. The amplified cream collection, while feeling moisturizing, feels heavy and too much of a slippery cream on my lips, it easily transfers onto your cup, straw or whatever else comes into contact with your mouth. While I’m loving the color of Half n’Half, the formula knocked it down to a 4. The only amplified cream to receive a 5 for me is my other HG, Blankety. I got this in a swap and would definitely purchase when I run out.

PPP, nw15, light green eyes, blondish/brown hair, pigmented, full lips.

I liked it alot.. I think it goes great with a nice smokey eye and bronzer. however it did make my lips dry. So i did add some clear lipgloss on top and that worked ok.. very good staying power. It looked a little muddy and grayish on my lips. but once I blended it with a lipbrush it looked ok. reminds me a lot of Viva Glam2. Just a tad darker. I wouldn't buy this again. just because I think that there is alot of other better nudes out there. But I do like this one quite a bit. Remember to use a natrual liner and some gloss on top otherwise it will stick to your lips and leave you dry!

Half-n-Half is one of those colors that i always looked at and never purchased. i have such a weakness for neutral and nude lipsticks! this is too dark on me to be considered nude (i'm NW/NC20/N4, BE 1.2), but it's a gorgeous natural color for me (very much a "my lips but better" shade). most often, i find that MLBB shades are just never right; they're too light, or too dark, too pink/mauve or orange/brown, too shiny, not shiny enough, too frosty, too matte, etc., but this is just about perfect. after years of being a gloss girl, and after breaking myself in to MAC lipsticks with the fantastic lustre formula, i'm starting to really prefer the Amplified Cremes (which this is), because they have such a great texture, just the right amount of shine, the color can be applied sheerly with a brush or, for a more intense look, directly from the tube, and unlike the Lustre (which wear off easily), the Amplifieds have good staying power and when they do wear off, a lovely stain of color still remains.

i don't know if i'll ever need to repurchase this because i have SOOOO many lipsticks that i don't know if i'll ever finish a single one, but this would definitely be at the top of my list!

This seemed like it would be a nice nude lipstick for me. But yep, as always, I just look kind of ghastly with it on because it’s paler than my natural lip color. It’s a brownish nude that doesn’t really have any strong pink overtones. The Amplified formula on Half N Half seems to be much drier than the rest of the line. Not sure why, but needless to say, do not attempt with lip balm or lipgloss! It’s kind of similar to Viva Glam II, which is a tad cooler. By all means, this isn’t a terrible or ugly color, it just plain doesn’t work for me. I can’t see myself using it other than in conjunction with a smoky eye or another type of dramatic eye look. I guess this will be one of those lipsticks I’ll never use up so yeah, won’t be repurchasing.

This is a great pinkish nude color for GGGs. It looks a lot like Hug Me on my lips but browner. I like to pair it with Lust, Poetic License and other lipglasses/glosses. Love it!!

Love this color! I'm fair with dark brown hair and lightly pigmented lips. I gave it 4 lippies because the staying power isn't great and I need to use a l/l with it. But it's a great nude color on me, gives me just enough color not to wash me out. Would buy again.

My favorite cool-to-neutral nude lipstick. My lips are pretty pigmented and this gives me a nice pale nude lip - it reminds me of Angelina Jolie's lips in "Girl, Interrupted" - a greyish pink pale nude. Looks great with Test Pattern liner.

I love the formula of this lipstick, it feels great on the lips. It was moisturizing, a little glossy and has great deep color. But, the color was just too dark for me(light slighty pink brown). Actually it is probably at the just past the too dark line for me. Almost any lipstick I have is a nude shade, like this one, but I prefer my NARS Bambi. A light 60's retro nude beige type color. But that's just me!

This color looked taupe on my skin. It is not the nude color I had hoped it would be.

This is an OK colour on me. I find it's a little too pale alone, but I like wearing it under LORAC Tickle Lip Polish.
I like that the formula is creamy & highly pigmented, but I hate everything else about it. It's not very long-lasting, it dries out my lips terribly even with balm, and I can't stand the smell.

This lipstick makes me look terrible. I have neutral, very pale skin with blue eyes and brown hair with little natural color, and this made me look dead. Pale, neutral lips still seem to be kind of "in" so I gave this a try, but it just reinforced my opinion that I need some real color on my lips to make my face pop. However, I'm giving it three lippies because I tried it on the apples of my cheeks (well-blended), and it actually looks pretty good there--gives me a fresh, natural, albeit colorless glow. Kinda hard to describe. I wouldn't buy it again, because a peachy or pink tone on my cheeks looks even better, but sometimes you just want a kind of colorless glow.

I despise this color. The opaque, creaminess of the lipstick is nice. However, Half n' Half looks like poo on my lips. It is not pinky, it is not tan, and it is definitely not nude on me. I have tried everything to redeem it--mixing with different shades of lipgloss, listicks and lipliners. Nothing works. Its just an grotty shade of brown.

Perfect natural shade - hard to describe though. A creamy fleshy nutty nude. It's actually the most natural looking shade I've found from MAC, but I hate the amplified formulation. Too creamy/greasy for me. If this came in the satin formula it would be my HG lipstick.

The first time I put on this lipstick, I hated it. I thought it washed me out - it seemed to blend right in with my skin, erasing any lip color at all.

I don't know what happened, but when I looked in the mirror maybe 5 minutes later, it had become more of a pinky-browny-beige color that ROCKED. Maybe this lipstick just needs to warm up or something. But it seemed to magically turn into the color I was looking for, that it looked like in the tube to start with.

THEN I found that if I pair it with Stripdown pencil, I don't even have to wait for the effect. I love the neutral-but-pretty lip look when I'm going to do something really dramatic with my eyes.

And I LOVE the texture of the Amplified Creme lipsticks. I can apply them lightly by tapping along my lips, or fully with a gentle smear. My lips feel moist, and I still have lipstick on after a few cups of coffee. (Though, so do my coffee mugs - but I think that's a testament to the density of pigment in this formula.) I like other colors in this formula as well - I have 5 or 6 of them now.

Although i really REALLY like the feeling of this amplified lipstick on me (super creamy and rich, almost moisturizing!), this colour doesn't go well with a lot of the make up looks i enjoy :( On my MMM-nc30 warm skin, this looks TOO grey-brown. Perhaps i'll experiment with brightening it up with a l/g :) No repurchase for this baby!

It's an ok nude color for me. Sometimes it makes me look ghostly. It tones down my lips a bit. I have to put this on very lightly or else it will make me look dead. I like to wear this with my stripdown lip liner and c thru gloss for a nude pout. If i wear it alone, it's too scary looking. It's also a little dry on my lips, but I wear a lip balm underneath and it turns out to be ok. I probably won't repurchase because there are better nude lipsticks out there.

Half and Half is good if you're looking for a brownish nude, but I just found this too be way too brown to look good on me. I prefer pinkish nudes like Hug Me to this.

I just received Half n Half in a swap, and found THE PERFECT NUDE for me! I'm a NC20 in MAC foundation, have auburn hair and hazel eyes, and I wore this today with Spice liner, smoky eyes and a neutral blush. It truly is the perfect nude color for me! Not too brown, not too pink, not too dead looking beige. It is a mix of all three with the perfect balance. I will repurchase this as soon as I run out, because I already see it being worn a lot!
