Name describes the shade exactly, a sheer sandy color that looks great on the browbone.

Just because it's called "sheer sand", did they really have to make it the same consistency as sand??? This is the most gritty, flakey e/s I have ever seen. I cannot imagine ever wearing this dry because it crumbles all over the place. Really, really unfortunate because I so love the color! I would describe it as a shimmery sandy taupe or champagne. I would hoard this shadow if they ever improve the consistency. The only way I can use this shadow is to apply it wet over a base (been using it successfully over MAC CCB). Please, please Milani people...keep the color, improve the consistency!!!! UPDATE: well, the consistency still isn't great, but i have noticed that it has improved now that i've gotten deeper into the pan.

I love this color. It is a beautiful taupe brown silverish shimmery color that brings out the green in my eyes(my contacts rather lol). Very nice and it applies very smoothly to me. I will be buying more Milani soon. And with the 3.49 price range u won't break your pockets.

Yikes. This stuff.. I do not like it. Gritty, uneven, it just sucks! In the pan it looks like a pretty champagne-gold, but it just shows up chunks of golden glitter. When I link wearing this, I can FEEL it on my eyelids. That has never happened to me with any eyeshadow before, even those containing glitter. I wish this was better quality, because the color is very pretty.

This is my first Milani e/s purchase and I'm definitely disappointed.
It's a beautiful color but it's gritty, doesn't apply evenly and feels (yes, I said, "feels") like I'm wearing chunky glitter on my lids.
Definitely won't be repurchasing this.

I like this, but it is definately the grittiest of all the Milani E/S. It's also very sheer. The color reminds me a bit of UD X. I often use this as cheek highlight instead of e/s... but I find that a swipe of Sheer Sand over the browbone makes green eyeshadow much much prettier on me. So, in the end this is a keeper. I just wish the texture was more pleasant.
I definitely WOULD NOT reccomend wearing this over the entire eyelid. Just to chunky. I have the same problem with UD Polyester Bride.

Gorgeous shadow. I use this almost every day, either on my lid or as a highlighter under my browbone. Its such a pretty dark champagne color with the right amount of shimmer, not too heavy, in the wonderful Milani quality.

I bought this because people recommended the brand so highly. This is my first milani... there is no pigment, maybe that's why it's called sheer?? just large specks of glitter. the texture is crumbly, but the glitter seems to stay on pretty well.
i don't really like this and won't be buying again. though i may try another milani color -- i like the pop up case and it's non irritating

While I generally love Milani products, this was not a favorite. The shadow was not as smooth as the others I have tried, and the color was very sheer on my PPP/LLL skin. When I did get it to show up (after much layering), it was too pink/red/orange for my taste, although the shimmer was very pretty. I probably won't be reaching for this one very often and will not repurchase. As for the comparison between this color and Jane's Sungloss, I much prefer the Sungloss and reach for it frequently for that natural look.

This is somewhat comparable to Jane Eyezing in Sunglossed except the shimmer in this is more like glitter.

Re-edited 11/30/03: OK, at first, I didn't like this because the texture was gritty and flaky, but now, I think I understand why Milani made this one this way. It was made this way, I *think,* to re-create the illusion of sand on a beach, so it's not too shimmery, but of course not flat. I find that when I first put it on it can seem to appear flaky, but once you blend it in and let it sit on your skin for an hour, it really becomes quite beautiful--an almost glimmering wet look, but subtly so. I knew there had to be some reason for this texture! Anyways, I really love it because it subtly brightens the eye area without looking over the top, and it truly would make a great "beach" eye.-----------------
Old Review: Perhaps I got an old one or something, but out of all the Milani shadows I have, this is the only one that doesn't have as smooth of a texture--sort of grainy, less creamy and smooth, crumbly almost. The color, otherwise, is very pretty. The shimmers in it don't look that fine up close, but from two feet away or more, it looks great. I like the fact that I can just use it alone, swiped on to my entire lid quickly with my fingers, and maybe a little bit along my lower lashes (not including foundation and lipstick) and it is enough to make me look polished.

I had to wait months to get this because every Walgreens I went to ran out. The original display had no more Sheer Sand left, so I had to wait till they restocked. I can see why this was sold out. It's a beautiful, shimmery taupe. As with all Milani eye shadows, the texture is perfect and the lasting power is great.

I find myself reaching for this color often. It's a light shimmery color, that's, well, the color of sand. The shimmer is not as dense as say, MAC Amber Lights. It's more sparkly as opposed to frosty.

I *REALLY* like this eyeshadow. Nice natural colour with a little bit of shimmer. Goes on smooth when applied wet and lasts all day on me. These Milani eyeshadows keep impressing me.

I just got this in Sheer Sand. it is a nice sheer taupe/bronze shimmer. the only problem is that the shimmer in it is really loose. I put it on w/ a brush and it sprinkled all over my cheeks. I think it might work better with a sponge wand applicator. or maybe w/ an eye base underneath. fun line, though- I can't wait to start buying $3 makeup again!
