Right now I'm on the fence with this product. My face gets fussy if I use ANY liquid cleansers (including sulfate-free) so bars are the way to go for me. This evens out my skin tone and isn't drying on my combo skin. I'm also acne/clog-prone and recently I've had 1-2 new pimples and clogged pores come up and I think this bar could be the culprit. I thought this would be better than the Dove sensitive soap I was using since it had a lot less ingredients, but maybe the almond oil in it is clogging me up. I might switch back to Dove and update if anything changes.

If your face is senesitive to oil at all, dont use this, it made me break out really bad, I thought it was oil free when i first started using it. Then after i was breaking out really bad i look at the ingredients again, and it has almond oil in it.

I would not buy this again. It says that it's for sensitive skin but it way too drying for my face. It gives me a tight dry feel. I am 32 yrs old and live in chilly Chicago. I may use this on my body so that I don't have to throw it away.
Update: Two days after I wrote this my skin is now killing me! I didn't have any other cleanser so I continued to use this. My skin is blotchy, red and my cheeks hurt! I ran out to buy something else before I showered today. I won't even use it on my body! I tried it today and it's just too drying.

I just got this in a bonus package of 33% more free, and it's so inexpensive anyway! It looks like it will last a long time too. The lather is soft, and the smell is fine. To me, it's just a "soap" smell. It took off all my makeup. I did have to rinse thoroughly to get the "film" or moisturizer in it completely off. My skin was not red or irritated after using. I will update when I come to a conclusion on this soap.
UPDATE: It didn't take long to find out this soap is not for me! It irritated my face after all. It dried my face, and caused pimples on the areas that were most irritated (around my nose & mouth). The only reason I don't give it 1 lippie is because it does make an OK shower soap for body.

Ohhh...I love Basis Sensitive Skin Bar. I was using Dove for sensitive skin but I ran out and could only find this at the store. It is a wonderful bar for facial cleansing. The lather is creamy, but not heavy or sticky. It rinses clean and never leaves my face dry. The bar was a good size; lots of product, but not too unwieldy. I also love the VERY subtle scent. This is my current favorite. So cheap, too!

I love this soap! It's the soap I use for my shower every day. It makes a creamy lather. It's very soothing to my skin and keeps my skin from getting dry. Other soaps make me itch or break out in a rash.

My 11 year old daughter as super sensitive skin. She is starting to break out due to hormone changes. Regular soaps and medicated cleansers make her skin worse. The redness, blotchiness and irritation was so bad. Even moisturizers aggravated the problem. Her pediatrician recommended Basis soap. I was hesitant to spend the money since I had wasted so much on other products. The results are wonderful! The redness/irritation is gone and her face is glowing!!!!!!!!!!!! It took about a week to see a difference. She has a few pimples, but you cant stop the hormones! I highly recommend this soap for people who have irritated skin. Give it a chance to work.

This has been a GODSEND for my recently-diagnosed rosacea. I finally figured out in the last year that my "acne" is actually irritation from all of the treatments I've been using. Quit using everything and started using Basis bar. My sister loves it, so was hoping maybe we are genetically similar enough....? Was scared to try, but my OoO sensitive wash was freaking me out, so had to do something. Within a week of using this, my disgusting dermatitis rash along both jawlines was mostly cleared up and my skin-tone evened. This bar has very minimal, soothing ingredients (unless you are sens. to lanolin). Foams up and removes all of my make-up nicely (and I wear waterproof TM lately). I used to think this was a tiny bit drying, but I realize now that my skin was just in a terrible state and couldn't hold moisture very well. Now that I've been on treatments for my rosacea for about 9 months (metrocream), my skin is in much better shape, and I find this bar to be balancing, not drying. I will be buying this until it is discontinued, and then I will buy cases to stock up! I always have a few extra bars on hand, since I can't live without this.****UPDATE**** I am still using this stuff over a year later. I've experimented with liquid cleansers, but I just can't find another cleanser that removes all of my water-proof tinted moisturizer/make-up and is non-irritating like Basis is. I used to think this was a tiny bit drying, but now that my skin is in FAR better shape than it was when I started using this (my atopy is gone and rosacea is under control...see my notepad for routine if you're curious as to how I cleared these things up), I find it balancing. It doesn't strip, but isn't really moisturizing either. No problem for me because I have serums and creams which I apply every day. I would try this bar if you're frustrated with the sulfates and fragrances in liquid cleansers. For 2.50 to 3 dollars a bar, it's kind of silly not to =)

I've used this on the past, and just recently bought it again. I've been on a bar soap kick, lately. This works well for me. Non-irriating, leaves me squeaky clean, and the bar lasts for months!

I really like this product. After spending hundreds, if not thousands of dollars on high end cleaners over the years, this is the one for me! It does not prevent breakouts by any means at all... but it does not give me new ones either. All of the other cleansers I tried did make me break out worse. It's a bit drying if you use too much. I use very little and it's fine. Really leaves me skin clean!! You may need to wash twice if you are removing makeup from your skin (which I hardly EVER wear). I have acne prone dry-combo skin. I will buy this again , but the bar seems to be lasting forever! EDIT- This has been drying my skin out lately. It's also been making me breakout. I guess the search is still on!

Great for my sensitive/combination skin. Never thought I would find something I can finally settle down with! When I don't want to use the cleanser in my proactiv sequence, I use this instead. Other times, I'll use this to wash my face, followed by Avon Anew's All in One cream.

If you have sensitive skin, and need to really feel squeaky clean, this is the product for you. I don't use it daily (I'm stuck on cetaphil) but it's my cleanser of choice when i travel to humid climates.

This is a nice face bar - it is completely unscented, doesn't dry out or irritate my sensitive skin, and doesn't break me out. Plus, it's cheap! I'm not a big fan of bar cleansers, but this is definitely a nice, affordable one!

I recieved a free sample of this from my dermatologist. I used it a couple of times on my face but it was a tad bit drying. The good news is that it didn't break me out. I'm just really not a big fan of using bar cleansers on my face. This would probably be much better suited as a body bar.

When taking a trip to San Francisco from my hometown Seattle three years ago,I discovered I left my regular cleanser at home. I went out and bought the CHEAPEST, mildest looking face wash I could find as soon as I disembarked the plane. I was planning on using it once just to wash up before heading to Sephora, but my Rite Aid purchase was kept untill nothing but a splinter was left..And, boy, was 2.99 worth it!
I have slightly sensitive combination skin that has monthly hormonal breakouts. This bar soap works the best for me after using Neutrogena's famed "oil free acne wash" (which is a very good hand wash for those with dry cracked hands or eczema) and trying various facial washes and systems like Cliniques Three Step, which I found to be too drying for me.
I currently am using another summertime favorite-Alpha Hydrox Optimum Series Moisturizing Cleanser and now that the air is turning winterish my skin is slightly drier than normal. It must be time to go get my bar of Basis! Another good thing is the bar lasts at least four to eight months, and it is all very mild ingrediants. Its smells lightly "soapish" but washes into a bubbly lather that rinses clean with no residue and no overstripping of those natural oils that give us that glow!

My sister uses this so I thought I would give it a try, I was very disapointed. It left my skin feeling very tight and dry and I didn't feel like my face was really clean.

I love this bar! I have very sensitive, blotchy, acne prone combination skin and tried so many different types of cleansers, from professional Murad for Acne to Dermalogica and many drug store brands. Everything either totally dried my skin out and was too harsh, or made it break out even move from all the different ingredients. This bar really gets my skin clean and leaves it feeling soft and less blotchy looking. I would probably not recommend if for dry skin since it may be a bit drying. It evened out my skin tone and left it with a slight glow. I think because it has soothing chamomile in it which I love. I have not had any breakouts from it.

I have used the gel face wash before (I can't remember what it's called) and liked it. I am now using the sensitive skin bar after my dermatologist recomended it. I was concerned at first about the slight film it left but was told that your sking should never be squeaky clean and that the film was the skins natural oil barrier. Since using this(along with my prescription cream)I'm no longer breaking out!!
