I think it's time I weighed in on my staple hair care product. I use this daily (in the unscented version). It's so simple, so cheap, and yet so indispensible to me. I have curly hair that will just frizz and float out if it is not controlled. Sprunch spray controlls and forms my curls. NOTHING else does it as well, no matter how expensive. I am truly lost without this product. My HG styling product.

I have long fine hair with some natural wave (at least during the warm/moist half of the year), and wanted something to define the waves a little better. Mousse didn't work very well for me. After looking at the reviews, I thought I'd try Sprunch.

I sprayed it on just dry unstyled hair, and voila! Not only did I get defined waves, but even a loose spiral curl or two. It was very sticky on my hands, slightly sticky on my hair. I've found that it's less sticky if used on damp hair.

It did create a lot of body -- my hair is fine, and Sprunch made it seem instantly thicker. The effect lasted for hours, too.

The scent is the problem. After using Sprunch a while, I have gotten more and more bothered by the strong unpleasant grape-y fragrance. I even a had a woman I sat down next to cover her nose and start coughing (I had sprayed my hair with Sprunch about 5 minutes earlier).

I'm hoping they come out with an unscented version for this latest version of Sprunch, because I like how it works but hate the smell.

The only product in the whole word I have ever used to give the *perfect* "just back from the beach-sexy look". It holds up all day, smells good. Im a cosmetologist and ive tried hundreds of products and never found a spray as good as this. Look in my pictures at my "wavy curls" photograph, all i used on my hair was this stuff!

This spray will give you waves and volume but the stickiness creates frizz. I would recommend using it lightly after hair is dry as a finishing spray or a curl booster but not as a styling product.

I had the same experience described below by jaynekomodo. I love Aussie's Mega Spray Gel, but this stuff is terrible! I literally couldn't get my fingers through my wet hair once I sprayed this on. It was horribly stiff and dry--it felt like I'd just doused my hair with acetone or something--and didn't even work well for my curls. I don't get all the positive reviews . . . it's like there are two different products with the same name.

I like this product because it defines my waves pretty well and holds well during the day. However I hate how absolutely sticky this stuff comes out (any exposed skin is left sticky) and how much the product builds up and flakes off. I've had a horrible time with an itchy scalp since I've been using this, but I have to admit: If it wasn't for all of this, I'd use this everday and keep repurchasing.

I've been using this off and on since I was in high school (we're going back 15 years here!). At the time, I was fighting my naturally wavy hair, but I borrowed this from a friend after a gym class in the rain, and all of a sudden I had defined curls and waves...and I was hooked. Like most people, I've tried dozens of other products over the years, but I always come back to the Sprunch Spray. The price is right, it does a great job, and it doesn't weigh my hair down. Good stuff!

Here's what I wrote about "TRESemme Bouncy Curls Curl Defining Gel" -- [you'll understand after]:

I have mostly straight, shoulder-length (maybe a bit shorter), colored hair that is oily at the roots sometimes, normal mostly everywhere else. I put this gel on towel dried hair and scrunch while drying with a diffuser. This product alone enhances some of my natural waves, but leaves a lot to be desired. I don't have many waves, so that's why I still gave it a four rating. However, the deal-maker for me is when my hair is mostly dry, I use Aussie Sprunch Spray on sections and continue scrunching with the diffuser. This adds texture (it's hella sticky though) and creates waves and gives me definition. The combo of this Curl Defining Gel and the Sprunch Spray are a five-star combo for me.

So my routine for creating bedhead-wavy-all-over-the-place-hair is using the Curl Defining Gel with Sprunch Spray. I'll try to post pictures later [no MU on right now!]. It is a VERY sticky spray, so avoid your face and ears if you can (who wants to sprunch their ear hair, anyway?). I hope my review helped : )

A new HG product for me. I had been using a wonderful gel available from my stylist for the last few years. With it's $35 price tag, I decided it was time to find a less expensive alternative. I tried this on a whim and was immediately in love. It's far superior to my old gel for 1/10th of the price! I can't see how this could possibly get a bad review, it's so amazing to me. FYI I have long, very thick, curly, layered hair. After towel drying my hair, I spray it, smooth the product through it, part it, and then scrunch it just a little mostly at the roots. It takes jus a minute. After it air dries, my hair is super bouncy, shiny and the curls are ringlets and spirals instead of frizz and volume at the roots. It's truly amazing. For those that complain that their hair is sticky, you may be using too much product. Seriously, I have crazy thick hair to just below my shoulderblades and I use 6 sprays (3 underneath and 3 on top). That's it. My hair feels like I have nothing in it. As for the scent, I can take it or leave it. But the results are so amazing, I'd use it even if it smelled like boiled cabbage. :)

i cannot even describe how much i LOVE this product! i love the scent.. the same scent as in their shampoo but works ten times better.. i have the typical asian hair.. NOT dead straight but the asian hair that is thick and sorta frizzy/wavy in texture but looks straight in general. after i use the curling or flat iron to fluff up my hair, i spray this and scrunch with my hands to mold the way i want my hair. looks fantastic! i even put it on my crown without needing the iron and can fluff up my hair that way to give it some volume.. love this stuff...

i love love LOVE this stuff. i got unscented version. anyways, my friend has a perm and she has the prettiest hair[not when she doesnt use this stuff.] her hair is fluffy and dull, and when its damp and getting wavy, she sprays this stuff all over her curls and scrunches it to sometimes but anyways, she has really pretty separated hair and its extremely shiny it looks sunkissed anyways, i went out and bought some last night, and we both have blonde hair and this didnt make it dark and greasy and stiff looking at all, it kept my really blonde hair light, and made it supper shiny..my hairs naturally straight but im getting a perm soon, so when it was damp last night i did braided pig tails and sprayed this in now i have hair like my friends. i love this stuff

I always loved this stuff, in the pump spray version. When I was young and had plenty of time to spend on styling, I used this exclusively to keep my 'hawk skyward all day. I don't mind the grape smell (a guy claims he fell in love with me because of the smell). At this point in my life, I don't use spray much, but when I do the Aussie comes off the shelf! Yay Aussie!

at first i hated this product cause it did absolutely nothing for my hair when it was slightly damp. it's funny how i picked it up today out of sheer boredom and spritzed & scrunched on my completely dry hair and i actually had noticably defined waves. it's weird how it works better on my dry hair. of course with it comes the frizz factor but if the spray were a lot less stickier, there would be a lot less frizz. still, there wasn't nearly as much frizz as other products ive used. i just have to remember not to flip my head over and scrunch cause this just makes my hair a total frizzball. i also have to keep in mind to get the UNSCENTED version next time if there even is a next time. the scented one is sickening. it would be fine if it was any other fruit scent but artificial grape scents are the worst, i don't know what aussie was thinking. since when was grape a favorite scent? it reminds me of children's cough syrup. oh well at least this made my hair shiny. but ill stick to my garnier curl shaping spray gel.

I've been having to buy hairspray recently since I started using velcro rollers to give me a little curl/wave and volume. So I bought Aussie Mega Styling Spray and while I liked the flexible hold, I thought I might wanna try something with a little more hold. Plus I wanted to see if it really helped with scrunching better than regular hairspray. It's really helped in that department and I'm happy with the results. When most of my curls/waves have gone due to the humid climate here (yes, it doesn't stand up to humidity very well, just like any other hairspray I've used so far), I've noticed this leaves my hair with more volume and texture than normal hairspray. But my hair is still left soft and fairly bouncy as well. This is a definitely winner to me and will buy again.

Maybe it's just because I have stick straight hair, but this product did nothing along the lines of what it promised - I instead ended up with a tangled mess of disgusting hair! I had to wash it again to get it all out. I wouldn't buy it again, but a lot of people swear by it. Just be warned if you have stick straight hair like me...this product might not work for you!

This is a staple for my house. I curl my hair a lot and I can spray this on and scrunch the curls and it holds and sets them, even in midwestern humidity, and doesn't make my hair stiff - at all. I use the unscented kind. I think I like it so much because it's the only spray I've ever used that allows you to manipulate your hair right after you spray it. Like if I notice a wayward strand I can adjust it before it totally sets, or lift the roots with a pick for more volume. I've noticed too that even after I brush out the curls, my hair has more body if I used the spruch spray than if I didn't spray it or used another product.

This is just okay. I don't actually use it to scrunch or sprunch or whatever (sprunch? What the heck? Very weird product name), just use it on wet hair for a trifle more volume, which it does tolerably. Nothing earthshattering. It's a little sticky, but use in moderation and you should be all right. I'm fairly neutral on the scent, although I could see why some people might not be fans of it, so you might want to take a quick sniff before you buy. (Oddly enough, whenever I wear this, the boy never fails to comment, "Your hair smells really good." Go figure.) Wouldn't buy again because I don't need it for its intended purpose, and if you want volume, there are better products out there.
